We know this year at E3 is going to be a big one for Nintendo, since they’ve told us what they plan. One of those plans is a brand new 3D Mario game of some description, though they haven’t released the details yet. That leaves us to speculate whether we’ll see the likes of Mario Galaxy 3, or if it’ll be something entirely new. What would you rather see? Let us know by voting in our poll and elaborating in the comments if you like.

Personally, I really enjoyed Mario Galaxy, but felt as though Mario Galaxy 2 was a bit stale. I feel similarly about New Super Mario Bros. and New Super Mario Bros. U. The games don’t feel different enough to warrant a third game, so I’m hoping we see something new, akin to what Nintendo did with Super Mario 3D Land on the 3DS.

  • WaHydraxon

    Why cant we have both?

    • Sonic the Hedgehog

Well I believe my former rival Mario had different themes in his games of different console…. For example, Super Mario 64 on N64, Super Mario Sunshine on Gamecube, and lastly, Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 for Wii.

How do I know all this, you may ask?
Mario won’t stop blabbing unless he could get a turn in the Olympics…

      • D.M.T

You’re better than the Waluigi guy here on Wii U Daily :p

Waluigi will never get his own game. Toad will get one before he does.

I’ll see you at the Olympics or at Lost World Sonic!!!

        • Arthur Jarret

Toad already did! He was the hero in Wario’s woods!

          • Geoffrey Tasker

he had two if you count that, the other being “doki doki panic!”

          • Arthur Jarret

Toad wasn’t in doki doki panic! He was in mario bros.2 which was a reworked doki doki panic… but there he was a mostly unused side character – having neither luigis high jump, princess’ float jump or marios amazing ‘stache.

It’s as underwhelming as his NSMBW / NSMBU role. In wario’s woods – he was the hero!

He bombed wario’s castle! He bombed it gooood!

            /end spoilers/
(what do you mean, I never started my spoilers?)

What I’m trying to say here, really… is that it’s about time toad got a ‘stache of his own. To glory!

        • Sonic the Hedgehog

Thanks! All this running is making me hungry… Chilli dogs, anyone?

          • Steve

I’d rather have your new Lost World game πŸ™‚

Any details on the release date? Lol

          • Sonic the Hedgehog

            Won’t be that long… I’m Sonic, remember?

          • Funkee Dynamite

            solid reply^^^

          • I’m proud I got that reference

        • Levi Johansen

Waluigi will get his game someday.. he must… πŸ™

          • Steve

            That would be interesting.

          • Andreas Sunde

            To MiiVerse!

          • GreenMarine

            2014: The year of Waluigi??

      • Off.Sh

Are you missing super Mario RPG from Snes. I would like to See a Mario RPG game based but in an open world like OoT

    • derty

Yes I would hav voted for both πŸ™‚

    • *this*

    • RockieOllie

Well of course both would be a great option, but when it comes down to either or most people want something new

    • Fred

we can, but not this year.
In other words Nintendo could do both, but since they have limited resources it would be something like Galaxy 3 this year and brand new mario in a couple of years.

    • D.M.T

It’s not about having only 1, it’s about which one we want first.

Do we want a sequel first or a brand new Mario adventure first??

      • mikel334u2

I think those 2 galaxy games were enough of SMG; they don’t ever need a 3rd galaxy game. That would just be pushing the magic of SMG 1 & 2 (and think about how much SMG 2 was like SMG 1). Instead of milking galaxy, they should make a new 3D Mario that’s more like the open world style of SM64, with an innovative new main game mechanic like water in SMS and the magic and innovation of SMG.

    • Clel

How about a hybrid of all the 3D Mario games?

    • Why isn’t “Waluigi Moonshine” on the poll?

    • Mehraj Meah

Nintendo said themselves that it would be extremely difficult to scrap up ideas for a galaxy sequel. Despite its more than outstanding run, I don’t think its practical for them to make a threequel with completely brand new ideas. I was actually surprised (though very happy) that they pulled off Galaxy 2. With all these haters saying that Mario is too repetitive, starting fresh on a brand new game would probably be the better choice for Nintendo.

    • Elem187

I would rather have a new 3D Mario because we already have two Galaxy’s.

But.. Nintendo should port both Galaxy 1 and 2 to the Wii U and sell them both on the same disc, and upscale it to 1080p πŸ™‚

      A person can dream.

  • derty

Ya a new Mario would b epic but it may b shit too. I think wiiu is in no room to take risks. Stick with what u know πŸ˜€ MARIO GALAXY 3!!

  • 7Down

Nintendo has a habit to do something different every time, so it’s hard to say if they’re going to make 3rd Galaxy, I very much doubt they will.

Enjoyed the first one, never got to play the 2nd, but could they add something new to the whole game instead of the Gamepad?

I’m happy with 3rd Galaxy, but I’d rather take something new.

    • incoherent1

Agreed with everything you said. I’d also add that they need to sell more consoles, and I feel like if they’re going to do that, they need to take risks and do some crazy, innovative stuff. I’d be happy with Galaxy 3, but I’d rather see something totally new that’ll draw more people into the system.

  • I think a new story and objective would be preferred.

  • Sdudyoy

No, I liked Mario galaxy 1 But I thought Mario galaxy 2 was a bit odd, and I didn’t care for it.

    • lonewolf88

dude how did you spell galaxy wrong when it was the title of the news.

      • Sdudyoy

        Because I’m stupid πŸ™‚

        • zerooooo

Dont answer to assholes like that

  • Denvy

Brand new. Galaxy was a Wii thing to me. Brand new concept would make me happier.

  • David Kumapayi

a new concept please mario 3d in hd

  • Robknoxious1

Side Note: Didn’t COD:Ghosts get confirmed for Wii U yesterday? I’m surprised WUD doesn’t have a story up.

    • Nintedward

      Source ?

      • Dan Jacobson

the sites changed now, but for a few days after release the ghosts site had a wiiu logo next to those of xbox 360, ps3, ps4 and pc

        • That wasn’t an official site for the release, it turns out. That’s why I marked it as a rumor.

      • Robknoxious1

It’s on IGN’s Call of Duty Ghost wiki page. Look under platforms. Is posting links allowed here?

      • Robknoxious1

        double posted

  • David Kumapayi

the wii u is craving for a unique game on the wii u no sequels or remakes

  • lonewolf88

i want mario sunshine 2. a person can dream.

    • Mr. Hobo

YES!!! Easily my favorite 3D mario.

    • Graeme Lynch

Sunshine was not my cup of tea…

      • LonDonE247

agreed, i didn’t like the setting, the location got boring so quickly for me,and i didn’t like the whole water based game play, i would much more prefer a Mario 64 style game, but with a true massive world, this is the first time Nintendo could make a massive mushroom kingdom but in 3d, and have the giant world,or area, ice, snow, water, etc, kinda like super Mario bros 3 but in 3d and open, with the same tight control’s of galaxy 1and 2, man that would be awesome, i know some people loved sunshine, but the fact is, it was the worst selling Mario game, and so Nintendo knows while it was a great game, it was not loved by all the Mario fans, a game more similar to Mario 64, galaxy, or a combination of both rapped up in a huge mushroom kingdom aka Mario bros 3, would be epic!! galaxies 1 and 2 were great, but due to the wii limitations the worlds had to be more compact, i loved the more open Mario 64 style stages in galaxy 1and2, and so with the power of wii-u they should be able to make a proper big mushroom kingdom, with all the different worlds, man i would love to see the Mario bros 3 and super Mario world stuff and suit upgrades in a 3d hd Mario!

        • Clel

The “Period (.)”!! Do you use it!?

          • Graeme Lynch

Oh quick here is the grammar police! Point, blank, period. That accurate enough Clel?

          • LopsidedPasta

It’s not a question of the grammar police. It’s that you look like and uneducated simpleton when you don’t use punctuation. I don’t mean to insult, I just call it how it is.

          • Graeme Lynch

Uh where did you come from? Nobody pressed your buzzer. It is also a clear insult when you use the term ‘uneducated simpleton’. Perhaps you ought to think about what you type before clicking ‘post’ so you, yourself, do not become the ‘uneducated simpleton’. BOOM!

          • Clel

Maybe he DID mean to insult the guy? It is possible to insult someone by telling the truth.
I also find it funny how you add ‘BOOM!’ as though you totally destroyed him in an argument. Anyways, I’m done talking to Graeme Lynch and LonDonE247 (on this page at least).

          • Clel

Punctuation is VERY easy to master. It is really, REALLY unrelaxing to read something where it feels like the person never breathes. I’m totally cool with people saying ‘its’ instead of ‘it’s’ (or vice versa) or using semicolons and stuff poorly. It’s just that this is incredibly basic and looks terrible when you don’t do it. And did you see his response? In case you didn’t, I copy-pasted it for you (in case he deletes it or whatever):

“grammar nazi too retarded to say anything of relevance and so uses grammar to join in on the conversation, GET A LIFE U LOSER! what is this middle school? u don’t like it, then dont read, i couldn’t give a toss, go masturbate over your dictionary and thesaurus now, LMAO loser!”

          • Graeme Lynch

Let us see. You obviously chose to overlook the part where pasta babes was all “I don’t mean to insult”. So I don’t understand what you’re talking about by saying he DID mean to insult him. Another point I would like to raise is the fact you stated you are ‘done’ arguing yet posted another reply to me within the same hour. Lastly I don’t understand why you care so much about the use of language on here other than to belittle people.
            Get yo life!

          • LonDonE247

grammar nazi too retarded to say anything of relevance and so uses grammar to join in on the conversation, GET A LIFE U LOSER! what is this middle school? u don’t like it, then dont read, i couldn’t give a toss, go masturbate over your dictionary and thesaurus now, LMAO loser!

          • People really hate when one know how to write properly…

          • Clel

Go masturbate over your dictionary and thesaurus? What I don’t even

    • Pacman8

I want a cool castle or something with secret levels hidden everywhere. like super mario 64. that and a better challenge than 3d land.

  • MujuraNoKamen

Brand new please. The Galaxy games were fantastic but for the time being at least, Nintendo should move on from them πŸ™‚

  • Ray01x

I would much rather have a brand new mario like we have every generation, but that doesn’t mean I wouldn’t like to see some mechanics from Galaxy make it in the New game. πŸ˜‰

  • I_I

I need 3D Mario however I also need the Galaxy series but later in the Wii U life line like three years from now or tow

  • Sam

I want a new one. The Galaxies were great, but the WiiU needs something new like Super Mario Universe. Yes I know that’s what Smash allegedly)going to be called.

    • Of course Smash Bros. is going to be big, but I’m really excited about this 3D Mario title if it’s something new! People are saying Super Mario Sunshine 2 would be fun and I agree, but once again, I want something brand new!

    • zerooooo

I dont think it would be called universe… they name it after fight synonyms like brawl and melee.

      • Sam

Yeah. What’s a fight synonym that begins with U?

      • DragonSilths

Smash Bros Untamed/Unleashed/Unmatched/Unstoppable. But I like Smash Bros Universe the best.

  • Mario Galaxy has run its course I think… It’s time for a new idea

  • Clel

I want to jump through paintings on the walls again. How about… Super Mario 64 2? But, since I never played Sunshine, I would be interested in playing a Super Mario Sunshine 2.

  • Jamal Brown

ye Mario galaxy 2 was wack

  • di g

mario 64 to the 3rd power

  • Arthur Jarret

Didn’t nintendo already state to the press that the new mario would be all new, with a different concept?

I remember reading about that – and that means there’s an 80% chance I read it on this very site!

Furthermore – I do hope they won’t make a sequel – it’s more interesting to see what they come up with for this gens big mario adventure.

    • DragonSilths

New system means new style for Mario. N64 had 64, GC had Sunshine, Wii had Galaxy, Wii U will have a new style once again its just the way it is lol.

      • Arthur Jarret

I wouldn’t have it any other way. ^_^

  • Wayne Beck

I sure am hoping for an Open World 3D Mario.

oo oo Or an Open World 3D MarioRPG!

  • Ernie Sanguyo

im sure it’s going to be new mario 3d since every console has diff mario 3d.

  • pfff

I REALLY enjoyed the Galaxy games, but they kinda felt like the Bros. series.
Nothing really new, but some nice new features, that added well into the first part. But in the end they were quite similar.

I loved the idea of Sunshine and it’s imo the best 3D Mario thus far. It was just plain awesome, how the world changed, while you progressed through the story and the fact, that you could see at least one or two locations from other levels let it feel more like ONE world.
I think I would rather see a game with a whole new idea for the hub world, that connects the variety of the Galaxy worlds, but let the levels still be connected under a big main theme like in Sunshine.

  • Weraru

I thought by “3D Mario” they meant Mario for 3DS. So I clicked SMG3

  • ZakAttack7

Tbh as awesome as the Galaxy series is, one of the biggest complaints people have against Nintendo is that they just recycle old stuff (untrue, of course), so I would like to see them innovate as they did with 3D Land and really surprise us… I’ve no doubt it will be legendary πŸ˜‰

  • JumpMan

well, i think Galaxy was a Wii-Only thing, as was SM Sunshine. it will probably be some amazing new dynamic on Mario that we’ve never thought of and will blow all of our minds to bits. probably.

  • ICHI

I preferred galaxy 2 over galaxy 1 it was more a refining of the Mario galaxy formula and harder to boot. Though with every new Nintendo console I expect something a bit different.

  • Derek D’Arcy

    mario sunshine galaxy then

  • Einar

I’m glad to see most want a brand new 3D Mario game πŸ™‚ I don’t like Galaxy so much as the camera makes quite disoriented and dizzy..

  • New mario, Galaxy flare

  • Johny

i’d rather have a new one πŸ˜€ Galaxy 1 and 2 were AWESOME but im very afraid if theres gonna by G3 that its gonna be alittle stale :/

  • I’d like to see a sequel to Super Mario 64 or else a brand new Mario game altogether. Mario Galaxy was great, but been there done that. Whatever they do, I hope this game has much more of an open world, non-linear feel to it. That was something I loved about 64 that was completely gone in the Galaxy games.

    • Mc Robins

How so you still needed stars to unlock new levels..

      • Yes, but when you jumped into a painting, you could go anywhere in that world, and try to grab any of the 6 stars that were either hidden, locked, or protected by a boss. By comparison, the Galaxy games sent you on a single path that followed a straight line and ended with a star. There was far less exploration. More “finish this task to get a star” and less “wonder around and see what you can figure out.” I’m probably not expressing this well, but in my opinion, there is a huge difference.

        • Mc Robins

Nope you’re spot on and that cleared up what Daniel was saying,

      • Jake Lood

He meant inside the actual levels, the levels are the same every time except for some VERY minor changes in mario 64. Mario Galaxy levels are completely different a large majority of the time, only being able to visit certain planets on certain missions and such.

  • sharlo galmo

It will be a brand new Mario, cause Nintendo make always a new game on a there new console.

  • MΓΈhΓ₯mmΔ™d JΓ₯rmΓΈn

We need and HD WarioLand game

    • Arthur Jarret

As long as it’s hand drawn & cell-animated like Shake it! a.k.a. the shake dimension was – I’m game!

  • DeedsGaming .

I want a new 3D Mario, fed up of people saying that all Nintendo can do is recycle old series. Innovate your games as well as your hardware Ninty!

  • Joel

For all that is good and sacred in the world, something new.

    • MetroidZero

  • Javy G

I honestly can’t see how bigger a Mario game can get than Galaxy! This game is a tough act to follow! If they do decide to make new 3D Mario it probably be one that integrates the Game Pad in its gameplay.

  • atl hawks

Hey about super mario sky or cloud. Have it where mario gains the power to fly(without a power-up) or have a vehicle. Then you can fight the kooplins as villians with their ships acting like pirates or whatever. Make it open world like windwaker or center around a hub like an skyward sword.

  • Antar RodrΓguez

i rather have a mario sunshine 2 or a brand new 3d mario, galaxy is done for me

  • Moshugaani

I hope they go an extra mile for this game! Both on gameplay and graphics.

  • Squid

Am I the only one who voted for Galaxy 3?

    • Clel

Obviously not. Over 170 people voted for Galaxy 3.
But if you just look at the comments, it doesn’t look like that.

  • Steve

I want a new Mario game. Perhaps a first person Mario like this:

That would be unique :). But sadly, highly unlikely πŸ™

    • john

Well buddy, I’m gonna have to respectfully disagree with you there. I love the look of that (fictional) game, it’s something new for Mario, much darker, but still not on the call of duty level of realistic. Basically, I think that game would kick ass in third person, but in Mario I like seeing my character, so I don’t really like the first-person idea.

      • Steve

Well, true. But one can dream πŸ™‚

  • what if they did a Super Luigi Galaxy (year of luigi)

  • Super Buu

As much as I loved the Galaxy games, I would like something new. Heck I’ve been thinking about a 3D Bowser Platformer. While on the subject of Bowser, I had awesome idea to go with him. It could be a spin-off Mario strategy game in which Bowser uses his gombas, koopas, koopa paratroopa and such to take down enemies (Toads, yoshis, etc.) and you could use the touch screen on the gamepad to select the troops and tell them what to do and where to go (StarCraft Style kind of). Tell me this isn’t a good idea for a Wii U game, I dare you.

    • Clel

This isn’t a good idea for a Wii U game.

    • NintendoMan

This isn’t a good idea for a Wii U game. This is Mario, not StarCraft.

  • john

I’d like a brand new one. I love Galaxy 2 because it gave me my Mario fix instead of forcing me to wait six more years (for the real deal big 3D platformer) and Nintendo obviously had a lot of new ideas for the whole Galaxy layout. But I think it’s time to take Mario in a new direction again; give the game an atmosphere we haven’t seen yet. If there are more Galaxy games then I’d have the same problem I have with the “New” series; there’s not enough innovation and it feels like they’re low on ideas, just doing the same thing over and over.

  • jay

I want a brand new adventure.

But we gotta remember Mario Galaxy 2 was the 2nd most critically acclaimed game in history.
So a part 3 would definitely be good.

  • Michael Jurado

  • Dominic Coradazzi

I wanna say Galaxy 3 because I can’t think of anywhere else for Mario to go on 3D adventures but I know Nintendo can pull something amazing with a completely new title
…fuck it, I’m torn HALF AND HALF

  • MetroidZero

Nintendo did good with Mario Galaxy, but Galaxy 2 was a little overboard, imo. A new one, PLEASE!

  • TaintedXGamer

Mario galaxy 3? Make it Super Mario Universe (hence it being on the Wii U)

  • CEObrainz

Perhaps an open world map of the mushroom kingdom which allows Mario to stroll from level to level.

    • Mc Robins

I think Mario needs a hub. I don’t even care if it’s a castle again. Nothing beats level hubs in Mario games.

  • CaesarGood

I don’t hate, but I do not like Mario Galaxy…

  • Jon

    I’d rather a new mario πŸ™‚

  • TheFarmboy

I prefer something new. Because people may start whining that a new Mario Galaxy will be a rehash. 2 Galaxies and a 3D Land has enough planetoids for me,

And after all there is a pattern as it always changes between game.

Mario64- Very basic, the core fundamentals.

MarioSunshine- The use of FLUDD and it;s variants, the fact allt he worlds are connected to Isle Delfino.

MarioGalaxy- Gravity, planetoids, the scale, and the multiple challenges.

So I would like to see something new…. though how can they top Galaxy.

  • Mc Robins

I played 1 and loved it, heard they had so many ideas and that’s why they released 2 but I haven’t played it yet. Given that Mario 3 is my favorite Mario i’m not opposed to a new galaxy, but the Wii U needs something all new to pull people in.

  • bizzy gie

    Off topic, buuuuut

Is it possible that in the future, we’ll need no more t.v. cables (av multi out, component, HDMI)? The Wii U GamePad can wirelessly show a high resolution display that can be used for viewing games, movies, internet, and more with off-t.v. The GamePad doesn’t use an internet connection with the Wii U. So could the same technology be put into TVs for wireless display connectivity?

    • Andreas Sunde

It could work, but keep in mind the gamepad is 6″, 480p. A TV is now up to 80″, 1080p. It would require an insane amount of power.
Also this would have to be built into the TV, as it uses a different Wi-Fi technology.
But yeah, it could happen, and it would be sweet. Just pretty expensive at first.

      • bizzy gie

Well the GamePad to Wii U connectivity doesn’t require any type of wireless fidelity whatsoever. It’s not too far fetched and I hope Nintendo moves in on this technology before someone else does.

  • 00EpicGamer00

I love the Super Mario Galaxy games, but I hope it’s an entirely NEW Mario game. The first super Mario galaxy was AMAZING πŸ˜€ but when they released 2….it just wasn’t as…”magical” as the first. Now don’t get me wrong, I like 2, but it was just a bit…”stale” I guess would be the word for it, it just seemed that it was the exact same thing just with Yoshi added (which made me happy, buuut still.)

  • Ben English

    Super Mario Universe!

And in 2019 on the Wii U Them, Super Mario Multiverse.

    • Andreas Sunde

Probably more like Wii U Dem, or Nintendo EVEROBODY! Or something.
Hmm, how about Nintendo World Domination? Or is that a bit early?

  • Warren Huff

How about a brand new 3D Mario game with Luigi as a playable character along with Mario?

    • Smashninja22

What do you call Mario and Luigi Dream Team and the other ones

    • Mr. Hobo

There are rumors that the game may be co-op. Maybe (Hopefully) this will happen!

  • Saleh Sbeiti

neither, i wanna return to peach’s castle.

  • zerooooo

If anything it will be called Super mario Universe.

  • If anything they need it to have the difficulty of super mario sunshine. The only mario game I felt you had to collect all the stars to beat the game instead of just collect a certain amount and beat the game.

  • Agent721

A new system deserves a new Mario. Super Mario Galaxy 2 was stale for me as well.

  • RonnieMexico

    n3ith3r…..mario iz d3ad….so iz nint3ndo…dey quit

    • NintendoMan

Learn how to spell, then maybe we’ll listen to you. Oh, wait… no we won’t! You are an idiot.

      • RonnieMexico

        nigga uz racist

        • NintendoMan

Nope. But now I know insulting people for spelling horribly is racist.

          • RonnieMexico

            uz racist…dont call mi racist….

          • NintendoMan

            Okay, I won’t.

  • Zac_attack

I would love a mario game where he gets to wield a weapon…even if its a paintball gun…a gears of war type of mario shooter?

  • Tecpedz94

Mario sunshine remake and or mario sunshine 2!!

  • Metroid 33slayer

A brand new adventure of course, the 3d mario franchise is too special to remain idle without any fresh ideas. Nintendo needs the new mario game to amaze current and potential wii u owners and mario galaxy 3 would be underwelming because it has been done before. In short it would show a lack of ambition and creativity, for this reason i don’t think there is any chance of mario galaxy 3 or even mario sunshine 2 being made for wii u. Each gen since the N64 has brought new locations and ideas to 3d mario and i’m sure wii u will have its own new and distinct adventure.

  • Cute how one option has an exclamation mark and one doesn’t. The story line and essence of the galaxy series is amazing and could be expanded even further. To say that the sequel was a bit “stale” baffles me. I was just calling around to stores to see if I could repurchase that “stale” game.

SMG2 was really good and really built off of the foundation left by SMG. But then SMG2 had to go off and pretend that SMG really never happened. That peeved me off a bit. They could have really built up Rosalina even more in SMG2 and yet they didn’t.

  • PachterStation

The only good 3D Mario game was Mario 64. Mario Sunshine was okay, but it had a dodgy control system. The Mario Galaxy games looked great, but the remote just made the gameplay annoying. Mario 3D Land on the 3DS, you need a big screen to play it, but there’s a Wii U version coming. New Super Mario Bros. has become a milked franchise.

  • DragonSilths

New system means a new direction for the 3D Mario games.

  • mojack411

Didn’t they say explicitly at some point that it was a brand new 3D Mario game that enters new territory? I would assume that means it’s not going to be related to any 3D Mario game to date.

  • Brand new mario

  • fireheartis1

Although I loved Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 I think a brand new Mario game would be better. Mario Galaxy is what made me decide to buy the Wii in the first place, and I know people out there seeing a Mario game with brand new worlds and mechanics would make them buy a Wii U. Although Mario Galaxy 3 would be awesome a brand new 3D Mario would be even better.

  • Ryan House

I bought Super Mario Galaxy in just before skyword sword I really haven’t put much time into the game. I would rather a brand new game. not being stuck to planets

  • Myles Rodriguez

Let’s have a real Mario and Sonic crossover! Mario and Sonic, teaming up against evil!

    • Smashninja22

    • It’s been awhile since I have played the campaighn but didn’t that Kind of happen in Brawl? I agree with you though a solid Sonic & Mario crossover would be awesome!

  • Universe

Super Mario Universe. Think about how great that would be. Plus, it’s already got the “U” in there. The game could be full of galaxies. Maybe alternate dimensions, even.

    • Leo

Wow now that is a very clever title! You should work for Nintendo!

    • Jay

Technically, Mario Galaxy was full of many galaxies already. Each room in the original was it’s own galaxy.

  • Russel Bowersox

I want a Mario game that uses the gamepad in some crazy way that I could never have thought of.

  • Wiiluigi

    New game!!

  • Kaihaku

Super Mario World, Super Mario Galaxy, Super Mario Universe?

  • Silent

Guys, Is it me, or Mario Galaxy gives you headaches if you play in the dark?

    • NintendoMan

It gives me headaches in the daytime, and I’m very young.

  • peeer

I would love to have a 3D Mario similar to Super Mario 3D Land, I personally think that was the best 3D Mario game so far. It brings back the classic Mario gameplay in 3D world, which is awesome. I hope Nintendo will make more 3D Mario games like that in the future.

  • 150Db

    Mario Galaxy 3: Mario U-niverse

It’ll need to have an altered formula though, since the gamepad doesn’t make a great pointer for collecting star bits.

  • Ramm

    (off topic)
Am I the only one who wishes Nintendo brought Conker back from Microsoft and made Conkers Bad Fur Day 2?

    • Petri

How did they lose Rare in the first place?

  • Tomasz Wiercioch
  • DemonRoach

I had enough of walking on tiny spheres.

  • Mario fan

    I think that they
should make a new Mario. One that is different, something that has never been
done before. Example: A 3D mario game where you can play different Mario characters and based on who you play it
changes the game. Example: if you play as Wario or Waluigi or even Bowser you
are the bad guys trying to capture the princess from Mario and luigi. If you
are Mario or Luigi you try and get the princess from Bowser and defeat wario
and waluigi who is helping bowser.

  • cade butler

How about one with a paper Mario theme… tv shows the 2d view and the game pad the 3d view at the same time . Lots of possibilities ?

  • Mehraj Meah

Nintendo said themselves that it would be extremely difficult to scrap up ideas for a galaxy sequel. Despite its more than outstanding run, I don’t think its practical for them to make a threequel with completely brand new ideas to keep people interested. I was even surprised (but very happy) that they pulled of Galaxy 2. With all these haters saying that Mario is too repetitive, starting off fresh on a brand new game would probably be the better choice for Nintendo.

  • Dacoda Spalla

The Wii U is just begging for a new 3D Mario, and It needs to be completely fresh.

  • Josiah Parsons

Galaxy was awesome, but they could probably come up with something even cooler.

  • dubYA

I voted for a new 3D Mario, but if it comes to light that the new game is SMG3, I’ll still be excited. The Galaxy games are incredibly fun!

  • Something new! Something unique! How about a massive open world? πŸ˜‰

  • KnowIedgeiswhatsup

I’m really torn on this one. I’d love to see another SMG game but if they go that route then I’d love to see them really build Rosalina’s character some more. Explore who she was and what her role was on the planet that Mario and gang are from. But at the same time, a new 3D Mario game would be super. Just trying to imagine what they’d do make me more excited to see what this new 3D Mario game is all about.

  • Pikachief

I think the Wii U needs its own new mario game. No sequels, but explore new ground with the new controller and system. Galaxy 3 (never liked those games) and Sunshine 2 would be great, but I’m sure the Wii U would benefit from more unique quality experiences right now.

  • crocodileman94

It won’t be a new Galaxy game. The Galaxy games were based around the wiimote. I can’t see them suddenly make it based around the gamepad.

    • Petri

Don’t know, if they could make game for Wii motes, without Gamepad, they would have to make sure customers understood, that certain controller is required.

Don’t some Wii games require nun-chuck or some other peripheral, that is sold separately?

  • DVE

    Super Mario 4D anyone xD?

  • Andrew Longo

everyone wants a new mario, but it’s going to be galaxy 3 without a shred of doubt

  • Gabrielsen

Iawata said that we should expect something brand new so i guess that we are looking at something else than Galaxy 3

  • Potemkin

Mario Sunshine was one of my favorite games during the Game Cube era, and it easily one of my favorite Mario games of all times (only surpassed by Super Mario World and Mario 3).

  • I want to see a big open world mario, based in the real world ( sorta like the super mario bros 3 cartoons) where the koopas come through the pipes and try to take over. then mario can use his wall jump abilities to free run and parkour off of rooftops to capture the stars or whatever may be hidden.

  • TrueWiiMaster

I want to see either a brand new Mario, or a Mario 64-like Mario.

    • Seth S. Scott

      64 like mario YES!

  • Ducked

Super Mario U! Like Super Mario 64.

    • Seth S. Scott

      yes yes yes!!

  • Sora Morp

    NEW 3D GAME.

  • Mochlum

Original or rehash? Hmm… what to choose…. (While I am against Galaxy 3 mostly, I would still like a Sunshine 2. Though the one I want most is an original 64-style one.)

  • Seth S. Scott

  • Alex Damman

super mario galaxy 1 and 2 were two great games, but the series has run its course. a galaxy 3 would RUIN THE GALAXY SERIES FOR ME. please nintendo, for the love of all that is holy, GIVE US SOMETHING NEW, NOT GALAXY 3!

  • William Cole

We want a brand new Mario. That’s only fair. Every Nintendo console since 64 has featured a brand new Mario to show off the console’s abilities. Super Mario Sunshine not as much but it was a good game. I just don’t want another cake walk 3D Mario like Sunshine was. Fluud was cool but he made the game easy… too easy. I know that was the idea behind the game but still. I want a new 3D Mario.

    • RoyCar69

Sunshine a cake wake? To me it was the hardest of the three. I didn’t even finish it.

  • Leo

A mix between Mario Sunshine and Mario 64 would be PERFECTION

  • Daniel

What I want to see Nintendo make.
Super Mario Sunshine 2, Super Mario 64 Sequal, Donkey Kong 64 HD remake and or good sequal, StarFox 64 style Star Fox Game.
Then of course, Smash bros, mario kart, zelda, and all of the other announced stuff.

  • Frank

Don’t get me wrong, I think galaxy 3 will be a very solid game, but we need a game that’ll really make full use of the 2 screen.

  • Kieran McMullen

I liked Galaxy and Galaxy 2, I would buy a galaxy 3 with beautiful HD graphics, if you think about it, they could add worlds, maybe even hub worlds, that make seem like it’s a flat level rather than orbs, I would like a more original hub, starship Yoshi anyone? And there should be less 2D sections, we get enough of that from new super Mario bros, I would like to see loads of original ideas and better bosses as well.

  • FutureFox

    Super Mario RPG 2!!!!
