One of the interesting aspects of all the Zelda games is that they all take place on the same timeline before a split that happens in Ocarina of Time that leads to three different timelines. What’s most interesting is that players have discovered that the map featured in Breath of the Wild bears a striking resemblance to the map in A Link to the Past, a classic SNES title.

Here you can see the map from A Link to the Past, but tilted 45 degrees to account for the new areas that appear in Breath of the Wild. For comparison’s sake, here’s the Breath of the Wild map in its entirety.

Notice the similarities? The Temple of Time is completely destroyed in Breath of the Wild, which is interesting because in Ocarina of Time when you visit the temple as one of the main dungeons found within the game. There’s plenty of lore still hidden that players have yet to discover, but I think this is the most startling resemblance yet.

What do you think?
