Dec 23rd, 2013

Early in October, Yoshida told his fans that he owned two Wii Us via his Twitter account.  Apparently he had more praise for the Wii U last month as well. When asked about the Wii U’s “poor sales” by an audience member of a talk show he appeared on, Yoshida reinstated that he owned two Wii Us, but he wasn’t done there.

“The latest Mario game is really good, too. I think the Wii U is just getting started.” He said to the fan, who was probably shocked at the response his seemingly biased question received. It’s really nice to see that–in such a competitive industry–an executive can still praise the competitor’s product.

Perhaps we should ask Reggie how many Playstation Vitas he owns…

    • ScrewAttack

He’s gone a long way to changing my opinion of Sony. Definitely has my respect.

  • Rinslowe

Shuhei is has been typically a stand up guy ever since taking center stage for Sony leading up to PS4’s release.
I think he’s genuine about his views of the Wii U and also shows a hint of calm confidence – in trailblazing sales for Sony’s latest console.
Hard not to respect his professionalism.

  • Nintedward

Shu Yo is a great guy, and never says anything faboyish or out of place. Part of the reason why I bought a PS4 over the Xbone was because Playstation has a much more gamer focused image then Microsoft right now..

Merry Xmas to everyone on Wiiu daily! The best present you could get this year would be either a 3DS or a Wiiu or a piece of software from either!
Finished AC4 on PS4 and now its just gathering dust whilst I play 3DS and Wiiu…
You would be INSANE to buy a PS4 or Xbone over a Wiiu or 3DS this Christmas, Next year however, things might of changed.

    • ScrewAttack

Merry Christmas to you too ed! 3D World and Blacklist wait under the tree for me with a pro controller, can’t wait! Gonna grab RE:Revelations, Pikmin 3, Lost World and WWHD in the sales too. People say it’s been a dry year but, I’ve got nearly as many Wii U titles now as I do 360 ones.

EDIT: I forgot Deus Ex and Arkham Origins!!

  • This man knows that Nintendo can be a sleeping Giant and to never count them out or call them a failure.

    • Unchained

The Wii U is not even considered as a new generation system… It loses to the old PS3! The 3DS is tottally underpowered compared to Sony’s Vita… Sorry fanboys but nintendo has failed you! LOL

      • It’s only NOT considered a next generation systems by ignorant fanboys such as yourself who do not know the meaning of the word generation. So the only failure is the stupidity of people like you.

        Good Day!

        • Unchained

LOL it’s considered last generation by GAME DEVELOPERS. They are professionals in case you don’t know.

          • LOL.. You are wrong.. And sure some game developers will say that but they are wrong too. Funny how many of these so called “professionals” simply act unprofessional and laugh and poke fun at their competition. Seems childish to me.

Still doesn’t change the fact that the phrase Next Generation simply means the generation after the last one. Has nothing to do with specs or power.

          • Unchained

Nintendo WAS good once, but they just ruined everthing now, they don’t care about gamers they just want to reach Everyone (as they say) so they thought they could make more profit. BIG MISTAKE. LOL. Well done.

          • Deadpool U

I’m very sure you’re mistaking Nintendo with EA.

          • Unchained

No, but EA is just as bad

          • Funny because those developers and professionals as you call them that call the Wii U not a next generation console. Well many of them work for or are associated with EA.

          • Unchained

game developers do no make those decisions

          • Lil J Moore
          • NkoSekirei

Well Ea is getting sued by their investors 3 exactly cause of how broken battlefield 4 wen it launch it just shows how EA wants to rush their games instead of not letting their devs working out the bugs

          • NkoSekirei

ur trolling is getting bad so make like a tree and gtfo

          • EliSanders

Alright this has been pissing me off about people. I myself have gone through 4 years of college in the pursuit of becoming a game developer (looking at Crystal Dynamics), and the first thing they tell you in college: on today’s modern systems anything is possible. Anything, so long as you program it right. Nowadays people think more power will allow us to do more, but that is completely wrong. In fact, it’s backwards thinking. All more power has allowed game developers to do, is become lazy programmers.

As consumer, power should mean shit to you. You don’t have to deal with system limitations, developers do. When these professional developers make their games, if they wrote more efficient code, there would be absolutely no need to make 3 different versions of the same game. Instead, they write these high end combiners and render unneeded stuff for the more “powerful” systems simply because they can get away with it. Then they make the Wii/Wii U versions not as good looking simply because they are too lazy to fix up their mistake of inefficient code.

Don’t ever let the power of a system deter you from buying it, because no matter how powerful a system is, you as a consumer do not deal with the limitations. If a Wii U and PS4 were the same price, then yeah, bad deal for you. But it’s not, it’s at a reduce cost and the specs aren’t too different. Buy a system for the games YOU want, not because a game developer said the system is weak because that simply isn’t true.

          • Mr. Berzerk

Sweet bagebes….FINALLY!! I am a programmer as well. 10yr experience/plus education. Can’t seem to get this through to people. I played better written games on my old pentium 200, then some of the carp out now.

          • Mr. Berzerk

To be fair, it is usually the overlords that push to ‘port’ something, and don’t want to pay for the time to do it right.

          • EliSanders

It’s really sad isn’t it? Well it’s nice to know there’s at least one other person on this site who truly understands how computers work. It sucks that companies are so damn lazy nowadays that they don’t want to put in the extra amount of work into making a title look even better. There’s a reason why some Wii games look better than PS3 and 360 games, and it’s definitely not because the Wii is more powerful. It’s the result of good programming, not raw power.

          • Rich Garriques

Alright this has been pissing me off about people. I myself have gone

this paragraph should be repeated all over the game sites ign , gamespot , wiiudaily , nintendolife , game revolution , game trailers. because these retarded fanboys just dont seem to get anything about tech. they look at cpu specs and gpu secs and think thats what makes a console better.

          • Ryan Jordan

i didnt even graduate HS but im aware of that, its all about optimizing the way the program operates, and yes developers have gotten pretty lazy in the last decade. but then again alot of people are very ignorant about how a game and system actually operates, and everone seems to be on a Tim Tayler MORE POWER (grunt grunt)is better, trip

          • Gameonfool

With some of the crap devs pull out of their asses I wouldn’t exactly call them professional. Especially the ones that call it last gen, they just lazy. Can’t be bothered to tune in and learn the hardware.

          • NkoSekirei

their lazy and they havent even tried to push the wii u to its max power which monolith is about to do with X

      • jjbredesen

Yours stupidity offends me… The Wii U IS more powerfull than the PS3 and here are the facts that prove it no debate:

The Wii U is more powerfull done! And then we have the 3DS and the Vita. Yes the Vita is more powerfull than the 3DS, but it has a horrible game libary. Powerfull hardware is not what makes a system great, its great software. If i gave you a console with 1 Thz CPU with 10M cores, 1TB RAM and a GPU with 90M VRAM, but only pong to play on it would that make it a good system? No it would not. The PS2 was weaker than the Xbox and Gamecube, but sold more and had a great game libary. and exclusives like GTA. The same goes for the Wii it was weaker but sold more, and the same goes for the 3DS:

  • The Clockwork Being

Love this guy. Has 2 Wii Us, His favorite franchise is Zelda and has played them all. Yet Sony fanboys that treat him like a God and accept his every decision still bash the Wii U even though he says its a great console. SMH

Anyways I can’t believe how many times this has to be repeated for everyone to understand. WII U IS JUST GETTING STARTED! Look at the game line up for 2014. Reggie promised no drought for 2014 so i’m guessing a game each month. Don’t believe it? Well remember when Iwata said he had more 2014 games yet to be announced? Well he sure proved it to us with Hyrule Warriors. Plus 2014 will already come with Super Smash, Bayo 2, Hyrule Warriors, MK 8, Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem, X, DK:TF and way more unannounced games.

P.S: Nice article Zorpix. You should work on weekends man yesterday’s article was a Wii bash U daily one.

    • Simon Stevens

I would say a game every 2 months is more realistic until the fall…. I can’t even imagine lol gonna be drowning in games too good to put down.

      • Mithiragi

That would be a good thing man. The more the merrier lol.

        • Simon Stevens

I’m already struggling to keep up with releases as it is, there’s a few retail and eshop games I need to get, at the moment, I’m on scribblenauts, that came out of nowhere, kinda reminds me of the ds that just kept chuggin em out consistently, I’m still way behind the times on that console

          • Mithiragi

I still think 1 game a month would be kickass though. More games is always better. It’s ok to have a backlog of games. It means that the system has so much to offer. Imagine a AAA game coming out every week? That would literally make you drown in video games.

    • MujuraNoKamen

2014 is going to bring some amazing stuff but I remain cautiously optimistic about a “game drought”. Nintendo promised before about getting games out and we had to wait half a year before they fixed the release schedule.
It looks like DK is the first big game of the year and that arrives late February. MK8 seems like that’ll come next but they still haven’t confirmed a release date and since it was spoken about in the “Spring” Direct last week and Spring technically does not begin until 21st March it looks like there’s still quite a wait for it – but maybe they meant from new year period through spring and it could come out by early March which would be vital if they want to met their sales targets. Yarn Yoshi and SMT X Fire Emblem will probably be late 2014 so it’s up to B2, SSB4 and X to fill in that gap but given the recent history of delays it could go well, could go badly. I really hope X comes soon, it’s probably been in development since Xenoblade was finished (2010 – the localisations in 2011 and 2012 were handled outside of Monolith so they’ve had their hands free) but seeing how ambitious it looks and the way Nintendo keeps borrowing Monolith to work on their projects I’m a bit skeptical but it’ll be worth the wait I’m sure. I hope they do a new year Direct again and deliver more good news like the last one, can’t wait πŸ™‚

  • Daniel Gonzalez

Just because we all are in competition doesn’t mean we can’t praise our rivals for doing well. I wouldn’t expect that from Microsoft.

    • Nintenjoe82

Didn’t MS tell the world the Wii was great as a secondary console to Xbox360.?

The vendetta’s that people have against Nintendo are ridiculous…
Fanboyism is like racism, it’s out of order and unnecessary.
Just play and like what you want and don’t waste your time hating on other things!!

Xbox, Sony and Nintendo are all fun! There’s no denying that really…

      • The Clockwork Being

Well Nintedward, when you are the most innovating company in the video game industry and you keep 30 year old franchises relevant for so long you gain alot of enemies. Why do you think people want Nintendo games on other consoles?

        • Nintedward

People bash Nintendo for keeping their franchises relevant, but that’s what I admire most. Nostalgia is a powerful thing and makes me love games like 3D world, Pikmin 3, WWHD all the more.

          • sedoi

People bashing Nintendo because nintendo fans ARE worst fanbois in the whole web.

          • tronic307

            How does that make sense?

          • sedoi

Because they hype the games only because they made by Nintendo, while Sony and Xbox fanboys at least sometimes accept that not every first party game is shining gem.

          • tronic307

That’s dumb. The console wars are bullshit. True gamers go where the games are. Only a fool would pick a single platform and deride fans of the others.

          • sedoi

you should tell it to those who attack sony and xbox only because they are selling better. Sometimes i have feeling Nintendo fans just outright hating anything that is not Nintendo and dont want to accept that Nintendo isnt the only good game developer in our time.

          • Kameron Grayson

you should tell it to those who attack sony and xbox only because they are selling better.

Ahem, people are bashing Nintendo because it’s selling worse.

          • sedoi

thats stupid. The only reason why people complain about wiiU is just people want to like it, but dont get enough reason to do so. Also offensive defense isn’t helping anyone.

          • Kameron Grayson

Sometimes i have feeling Nintendo fans just outright hating anything that is not Nintendo.

I play XBOX, PS, and Wii U, I play all of the games, but I just happen to love Nintendo’s games more.

          • sedoi

lol, tbh, i dont give a damn if it’s Nintendo, sony and xbox game. If game is good, it doesn’t matter who’s behind it.

          • Kameron Grayson

and dont want to accept that Nintendo isnt the only good game developer in our time.

          • Kameron Grayson

I love 3rd-Party, and love Nintendo 1st party

          • Kameron Grayson

That makes no sense. Have you seen how Microsoft and Sony fans bash Nintendo fans?

      • DragonSilths

Xbox 360 was fun. Xbox was decent when they had Bungie. Without Bungie, Xbox One lacks any fun.

        • fireheartis1

Come on now Halo 4 was amazing despite it not being developed by Bungie. Xbox also has a great racing game in Forza so there’s no reason to talk trash when it doesn’t need to be talked man.

          • DragonSilths

I have no interest in Forza, Only racing games I like is F-Zero and Mario Kart. And Halo 4 was shit. 343i killed Halo. Campaign was okay. But Matchmaking doesn’t feel like Halo at all. Look at its population. Never more then like 15,000 people playing. In Halo 5 we will be looking down the sights like COD.

          • jjbredesen

Well thats your opinion i think Halo 4 was a great game, different, but that does not mean it was bad. Lets just not argue because we all have a lot of opinions and we will never be happy XD

          • DragonSilths

You spelled opinion wrong twice and two different ways lol. Sorry had to point that out.

      • Arthur Jarret

So true. I don’t own any xbox system, but got both all european-released nintendo and playstation systems except vita… and it’s getting harder and harder to not buy it (it’s getting a lot of great exclusives, like persona 4, soul sacrifice and tearaway.

I completely ignored the PSP but since buying it a few weeks ago I can’t believe what I’ve missed out on!

        • readypembroke

If you love FPS on the PSP, buy Syphon Filter: Dark Mirror, Syphon Filter: Logan’s Shadow and Medal of Honor Heroes 1 and 2.

          • Arthur Jarret

Thanks for the tip! I’m not a huge fan of military shooters (I simply don’t like the ‘army’ genre combined with fps, although it’s been a while since I gave a medal of honor / call of duty or battlefield game a go) – but I do love other types of FPS (like bioshock, doom, serious sam and the like). I’ll definitely look into the syphon filters!

          • readypembroke

The 1-3 games are PS Classics on PS3 and PSP. The Omega Strain game is a spin off of the series and is not related to the other games. It is for PS2 and PS3 as a PS2 emulated game.

If they make a sequel for either the Vita or PS4, I am buying one ASAP. Same thing for me for the Sly Cooper games… would buy a system just for one also. Syphon Filter is like the Metroid series: It is fun but the companies don’t mess with them at all after a certain game. If you have a PS2 or PS3 and like platformers, Sly Cooper games are for you. Here is the link for the latest one: Totally worth $20!!

          • Arthur Jarret

I’ve got the HD collection! Very fun – but haven’t picked up thieves in time yet. If I do – I’ll have so many cross-buy titles I can’t afford not to pick up a vita.

It’ll be time I get into the syphon filter series – I’ll try and track down the original discs to start with it (I’m a collector, after all)

      • jjbredesen

Now that is what i call word of wizdom if we could all live like that the internett would be a peaceful place with a lot less trolls.

      Very well said.

    • Jack5221

Nintendo is a legendary company. Legends NEVER die.

      • MichaΕ‚ Pasternak

Well, how about Sun Microsystems, Digital Equipment Coporation, Silicon Graphics Inc, all those great 8-bit platforms like Atari, Commodore, Sinclair, Amiga… just to name a few…

        • readypembroke

Atari ran themselves into the ground with very crappy games. Also Atari inspired Nintendo to control how many games came out on the NES and SNES and what they were.

    • verymetal

I agree, its just the kids at school during recess that get picked on. For instance, “What did you get for Xmas? I got a PS4! What did you get? I got a Wii U.” That is when everyone starts laughing and making fun.

      • Rob

Yeah but I didn’t even see many games a “kid” can play on Xbox One and PS4. Unless kids play rated M games now? If so, that is a little disturbing to me. Nintendo has games both young kids and adults can play.

    • MujuraNoKamen

Totally correct. The other day on IGN there was an article saying what’s best PS4 or XBOne – of course they didn’t mention how good Wii U is looking – and the fanboy wars in the comments were unbelievable! The sad thing was it wasn’t so much people bragging about their favourite console, they were just trashing the other system. Apparently it’s not about how well your console does, it’s about how bad everyone else does. :'(

      • MujuraNoKamen

While we’re on the subject I just went to IGN and there’s a front page article saying “say no to fanboys. PS4 and XBox One fans, embrace peace this Christmas” Once again they left Wii U out in the cold so no hypocrisy or fanboyism there guys!

    • Funkee Dynamite

Thats just life man, people always trying to prove themselves and their possesions and beleifs rather than enjoying life and getting along with everyone around them. Unfortunatly it applies to video games too.

  • Rugmouse

It’s refreshing to see someone that still understands the importance of competition in a market. Nintendo pushes Sony and Microsoft to develop quality content and vice versa. Can you imagine what it would be like if there was only one player in the console gaming market?

Nintendo has always worked to deliver a unique experience, but I’ve always respected what Sony has done for the industry as well. Even Microsoft has impressed me with their home entertainment ecosystem notion.

Whether you like these companies or not, they need each other – their co-existence is a positive for us gamers! If only the people using these products would see it this way…

  • bradtastic2

Before I get labeled a Sony fanboy, I have every Nintendo console still from N64 including every iteration of every handheld, and Reggie would never say the same thing about a PlayStationor Microsoft product. The “competition will do what they do and we’ll do what we do” stance is annoying. I have the utmost respect for the big names who give praise to their rivals.

    • D.M.T

Why should Reggie praise the competition when Nintendo is hated by the gaming media and people in the industry? Let me tell you why you should still have the utmost respect for Nintendo: because Nintendo doesn’t participate in this silly console war and they never bash those that hate them.

      • LightupmyLife

Because its respectful and shows that Nintendo can show the same. Fanboyism at it’s finest.

        • D.M.T

Another idiot calling me a fanboy, how original. I rather be a fanboy than someone who hates another video game company. And no i’m not saying you hate a company, i’m just saying that i’m not offended by your little insult. My point was that even though Nintendo doesn’t praise the competition they are still being respectful to them, you will never see Nintendo bashing anyone.

  • Rinslowe

    On a side note….

Really enjoying your work Zorpix. I like news both good and bad for a balanced perspective. But it has to be done with a little finesse either way. That’s what you’re doing IMO.

Pretty good. Nintendo should do a sizzle reel like this showing the great variety and quality of game they’ve got.
All I’ll say is this ad could do with talking about the features a bit more. That and I think some games were overused in the trailer while others were underused but never mind, it’s a great showcase of what Wii U has. Roll on 2014!

  • Lusunup

Its the start for now its going to sell units thanks to the ad of explaining the difference now. I also think its doing well seeing as its competitors are behind the lead when everyone knows the difference between there old and new consoles.

  • Fred

LOL he clearly pities Nintendo, and respects it for the good old days. The Wii U (lol even that name sucks) is the biggest fail of gaming history…

He’s just gained even more respect in my eyes πŸ™‚ their really isn’t a reason for video game bias, everybody has their place, these days it’s Nintendo (best console possible for kids and core gaming), Sony (jrpgs, mature movie like sort of games) Microsoft (Being MS, of course they’ll have more access to games on the pc platform), personally I’m not quite as hardcore as I used to be and I’m not really seeing the kind of games I like on the other 2 systems and I can think of better ways of spending the money it would cost to bring them into my living room, as of now I have the Wii U, Vita tv and some really dodgy android game psp looking bullshit thing for old school games, more than enough for me ta ^^ plus I do tend to steal my son’s 3ds xl off him from time to time, I imagine Yoshida is a simple bloke and will play whatever he feels like playing rather than what society would stupidly dictate that you play.

  • Christopher Acuna

If Ninty would let me sync my ID and downloads to a 2nd WiiU Console I would be more then happy to have 2 of this machine in my home πŸ™‚

  • lonewolf88

zorpix for the win if you weren’t here to post this article people probably would have went into civil war about the bash article XD

    • XD Glad you like my articles and viewpoints πŸ™‚

  • NintenScience

    …on what?

  • wiimenonowiiu

The way i look at it Wii u is about innovation something new Nes has always been that way. Playstation is about graphics has a great library of games and takes ideas from Nes. I enjoy 3rd party games on the Wii u very much like Ac3 and ac4 rather then on playstation

    • Chibi RAWR

PS isn’t about graphics. lol. Nintendo always had better graphics for sometime until Wii. however with age tech of 2013 = games like can be made and things like this cant support wiiu.

      • wiimenonowiiu

Sorry but n64 and game cube were not better in graphics but had innovation vs ps and ps2 the Wii again new innovation vs ps3 and xbox and xbox360 and Wii u brings something new vs the same stuff just an upgrade in graphics

  • Kay Wrobel

I love this guy. He should work for Nintendo! He does more marketing PR for them than for his own company πŸ˜‰

    • Ice Climbers

He does better marketing for Nintendo than Nintendo does.

      • MujuraNoKamen

        Beat me to it πŸ™‚

  • Yousif Alromaithi

Nice one Zorpix. Asking reggie about how many Vita he owns is a catastrophe to all nintendo fans because many think it is not worthy of being until lately it is but mind me I do have a Vita which I got at launch and I think it is a really underrated system. But man I do really respect Yoshida and him praising the 3D World is really something.

    • Pikachief

      He owns 3.

… One for every good exclusive game on the console.

      • Yousif Alromaithi

Are you talking about Reggie owning three wow.

    • XD If I ever get to meet him, I’m asking two things. 1. Can I have a job? 2. What game systems do you personally own from other companies?

  • GmailIsDown

it just hit me that this year’s holiday shopping season is all but over and i still don’t see the wii u commercials bombarding the tv channels. missed opportunity. i saw more Xbox One and PS4 commercials than Wii U commercials.

i remember seeing lots and lots of wii commercials when wii was released.

is Nintendo really standing behind wii u 100% or wii u is more like a side project now? if you are not willing to spend big money to get the words out, to educate the public, wii u will just keep bleeding money as what it needs is momentum to attract 3rd party developers. this is especially true when your target audience is the casual/family folks, who are unlikely to go out of their way to research for video game related products. they probably don’t read video game news either.

    • jreed3842

Honestly…. I saw A LOT of Wii U commercials mainly because of my sister watching Nickelodeon and Disney. They had a lot of Wii U commercials on those channels.

      • GmailIsDown

it makes sense. i don’t really watch those channels. during the wii era even the “normal” channels had a lot of wii commercials i remember.

      • they have a lot on Fox, ABC, NBC, etc. They’re hitting major networks. Oh, and Hulu has a ton of them

    • jreed3842

Although, I do agree that they should be advertising on ALL channels. It’d be nice to see Wii U commercials on more than just kid’s channels.

      • GmailIsDown

indeed. the parents/grown-ups are the ones who ultimately make the purchase decision. in additional to having their kids nagging them, if they were shown that wii u was a sophisticated family-friendly console and could be enjoyed by the whole family together during the holidays, they were probably more likely to be interested.

    • I’ve been seeing a TON of Wii U commercials on major networks. What are you watching? XD

      • GmailIsDown

ABC, NBC, FOX, PBS, etc. what channels are you watching?

        • FOX, A bit of CBS, and Hulu+ has been having tons of them. Seen a few on Spike, animal planet, etc as well

      • Chibi RAWR

There’s little to none on basic channels I watch such as the one that Blacklist Agents of SHIELD Revolution Almost Human Arrow Person of Interest etc come on and none on the science channel and Scifi. those are the only ones I ever watch. i havent seen any compared to XB1. a few PS4. theres a lot of XB1. and ads online for youtube everything is either PS4/XB1 or ps3/360. only wiiu if theres a wiiu game worth talking about

        • My parents watch Jeopardy, wheel of fortune, big bang, etc

    • Chibi RAWR

no. WiiU isn’t really for 3rd party. Sorry to say but there’s 20+ 3rd party games skipping wiiu. All of these are shared between PS and XB (with exception of the Tales of series – β€œWe are currently in the very early phases of work for next generation Playstation titles,” Baba confirmed.β€œBut we still have no plans to bring the series back to the Xbox, or Xbox One. We feel that our core fanbase leans toward the Playstation 3 and Playstation 4, so we are focusing our efforts on bringing the best possible Tales experience there.”) but not WiiU. However, you should already know Nintendo lags behind 3rd party. Yes it sucks but their systems are all about the stereotypical 1st Mario, Zelda, SSB, etc. They make hardware for these games no matter how bad their systems end up being. Nintendo is in its own bubble, so let them do their own thing because if it fails then they don’t care because something new will quickly be made in order to support more of those golden babies.

      Star Wars Battlefront

      Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain

      Tom Clancy’s The Division

The way the Tales of series is headed I don’t see Baba having any on WiiU.

I just wish it would have 3rd party support, how is battlefield 4 on Xbox 360 and ps3 and not wii u?

EA? Nah they’re great! They’re a great company that cares about their consumers. Can you imagine if they made the same titles, and just slapped a different number on their yearly franchise without improving it at all?!? Or what if their staff went on twitter to act unprofessional towards their peers in the business? Better yet… Can you imagine if they released a broken Battlefield game for this new gen, and claimed there was nothing wrong with the game until a possible lawsuit hit them?

All of that stuff would be bad enough to get you voted as the worst company around..
and theirs noooo way EA would be voted to be the worst company once or even TWICE.

          Hahaha, I fucking hate EA.

    • Fishy

Don’t blame EA. They DO suck, but regardless, Nintendo gamers don’t buy military FPS titles.

  • Sheiky Baby

It is definitely just getting started. I saw something really cool happen at my local Gamestop today.
I went to see if I could get a used copy of Windwaker HD because I didn’t have enough for a new one.. The cashier said they didn’t, but that I should pick up A Link Between Worlds because of how amazing it is, and asked me if I knew that it won Gamespot’s game of the year award.. I wasn’t aware of this either. As I went back to the line, there were three people in front of me… The first person bought a 2Ds with ALBW. Second person bought the Windwaker Deluxe Bundle, and the third person bought Ocarina Of Time, SM3DW, Windwaker, and ALBW. I literally felt as if I was in some sort of exclusive Nintendo store.
If that wasn’t enough, the second cashier was taking care of a woman and her little girl. She bought a 3DS with DKCR3D, and the best part of it all, was when she started asking why the gamepad was $300. The cashier had to educate her about the difference between the 2. She ended up buying the Mario & Luigi bundle for her son this Christmas. It was awesome to see so many people walking out of the store at the same time with all their Wii U/3DS products.

By the way, two Wii U commercials played while I typed that lol.

  • James060394

People get too caught up in the “console wars”. It’s business. The industry as a whole does good with competitiveness, and it’s good to see the good spirit from Sony to the other companies such as Nintendo. People are too caught up on specs, and i will stand by what i have always said when people talk about specs in a console – buy a PC if that’s what matters.

Nintendo and Sony have consistently produced good quality products and games over the years and i think this gen will work out great for both.

  • X3Charlie

Today at a Walmart I saw the Wii U, 3DS, and PS4 shelves either bare or almost there.

  • Josie the Sketcher

This guy knows the real true meaning of the gaming industry.

All consoles provide fun and entertainment.

As a long time Nintendo and Sony supporter, I have nothing but HUGE respect for Mr Yoshida!

  • linxz

the wiiu is currently packed with games, although we ain’t seen nothing yet.

  • Jelle Knibbe

Maybe this is all part of their master plan. Fase 1: Nintendo console fails. fase 2: praise nintendo as much as possible. Fase 3: Nintendo gives up. Fase 4: Nintendo becomes exclusive 3rd party to PS.
Not that I want that to happen.

  • ChlorineGalaxy

i love how professional he is, that really says something about why sony is generally viewed in such a positive light, because they have great people like him working for them.

  • Skelterz

He’s just licking bum because its easier than being a cock.

  • Josie the Sketcher

A perfect Nintendo ad would be having Shuhei Yoshida playing the Wii U with his daughters…if only that could happen *sigh*

  • Chibi RAWR

He’s a friendly business man. Yes, not everybody is an asshole. He isn’t alone either. in my philosophy class you learn that competition is good. it promotes growth in an industry . theres nothing wrong with it as long as those who compete are wise and respectful.

  • Hulkamania

it seems that this console war is Nintendo and Sony vs Microsoft

  • Sunzi_126746

I have a Wii U and I love the games on it and not needing a tv to play the games. I look forward to Zelda, X, and Bayonetta 2. I’m considering to buy a PS4 when I see more games avaliable that are not avaliable on the previous generation of consoles and hopefully remote play allows to play PS4 games on the go.

  • William Cole

If I see a game I like, I’ll buy it. No matter what the system is.
