The digital version of Wind Waker HD is now available in North America and to celebrate that, Nintendo has released a brand new launch trailer for the game. This trailer doesn’t show off the new features included in the HD version, but rather focuses on the story and the size of the adventure to give new players a glimpse at what awaits them.

Toward the end, you can see the Wii U Deluxe bundle that will come with a download for the game, scheduled to be released on October 4th. Will you be picking this up, or perhaps waiting for the new Deluxe bundle to be released on the 4th? Let us know in the comments.

  • SonicLucario

Im jelly for the people that dont mind downloading as much as I do >.< Im waiting for the physical copy to add to my collection but my cousin is getting the Wind Waker Bundle really soon so its all good πŸ™‚

    • Merrfn

I am cool with downloading. Well a little bit paranoid that my Wii U will break and I will lose all games… but still.

  • Miguel Angel Barrueta HernΓ‘nde

ill wait for my preordered ganondorf figurine

  • Denvy

Size of the adventure? It’s a little on the small side compared to others unfortunately. If I didn’t have the Cube version, this would be an instant buy though.

    • jay

Buy it anyway! This version is awesome!

      • Denvy

Considering there are some NEW games coming out for the same price soon, I will opt for those.

  • Daniel Gonzalez

Have fun gaming this weekend Zelda fans.

    • david jarman

Thank you! I wish you could join in on the fun as well! Maybe some day! πŸ™‚

      • Daniel Gonzalez

        Eventually I will. πŸ™‚

        • Stuart Thomas

Unfortunately i have to wait, i only like to buy physical copies of these games. But i’m excited,

    • Magnus Eriksson

Yeah, have to wait a couple of more weeks here in Europe. Looking forward to play this game because I never did and is a fan of the series.

At the same time I see this as a really bad sign. This HD restauration (its really the correct definition as its not a remake at all) of a ten year old game is the most interesting thing Nintendo has been able to come up with in a whole year. And Nintendo had really good time to get prepared for the HD gen, because they didnt really release anything new at all the last three years. The other consoles came with their HD in 2006 so they should have learnt from their mistakes, but did the very same only worse. New Super Mario U, Luigi U built practically on the exact same stuff as the Wii version. They are doing the exact same thing with the new Donkey Kong (which isnt even here yet) game and Pikmin 3 was actually started on Wii but got transfered to the Wii U. They really didnt seem to have any clue on what to do with their own sell points (the pad). So, the best thing they came up with was light effects on this game. At the same time we see GTA V smashing in as the best game ever made, and thats on last gen. Nintendos answer is a restauration of a game built on the last last generation consoles. Its really a shame. (Bring on the downvotes, but you know Im right…)

  • Veries Seals

Yep me too. Already got my physical copy paid out. Just have to wait a bit. But thats ok, playing Wonderful 101 and it is epic!

  • Fred

I bought this game at 10pm last night. It’s so nice living on the west side of the country as it released at midnight eastern so I hit download a little after 10pm. I’m very excited as I was one of those guys that never played it on the Gamecube because I didn’t like the art style. I actually like it now so I’m ready to start right after work today.

  • only god can judge me

Just pick up my wii u zelda bundle can’t wait to play windwaker for the first time.

  • orpheus bryce

    • Fred

Awesome. I’ll also be playing right after work

  • CEObrainz

Why can’t it be 4th of October yet….you guys are so lucky……

    • Daniel Gonzalez

      In matters like this…..

    • Fred

I wouldn’t call it luck. I made a deliberate decision to download it instead of wait and you made a deliberate decision to wait so that you could get the actual disc or statue if you got in on that.
You could always change your mind and download it tonight

      • Baum γ€Œγƒ„γƒͺー」

Fred…We People in Europe CAN’T change our decisions. Simply because we don’t have a choice.

      • CEObrainz

I’m getting the bundle with the Wii U console, as I don’t have one yet. So…..yea, I do kinda have to wait….especially as it hasn’t been released yet in the UK.

        • Fred

Oh my bad, I don’t really keep track of dates in the UK since they don’t apply to me. Maybe I should be slower to respond since I don’t know who’s all in which country.

    • Noteak

Wait is the 4th of October the release of the disk?

      • CEObrainz

The disk and the bundle release on the same day.

  • lwlshintalwl

can’t get this game until november when I buy the bundle edition πŸ™

    • Fred

You better hope there’s still some left in stock.

  • Javy G

I was waiting for the physical but… the anticipation is just too much. I just might go home and spas out on eShop. (…and the many deals with MH3 for Wii U and 3DS, Toki Tori on sale)

    • Fred

Do it. It’s not worth the wait!

    • Baum γ€Œγƒ„γƒͺー」

      argh damn it πŸ˜€
I guess I’m too late now, but I’d buy MonHan (if I didn’t already own it) and Play that the 2 weeks until Wind Waker’S (and more importantly – the Special Edition’s) release.
I’d be definitely enough Content for that time ^^

    • Fred

Did you go buy it over the weekend?

      • Javy G

Honestly, no I didn’t but I am playing A Link to the Past right now. Trust me I was about to download last night but decided I need the Pro controller as well. And maybe…just maybe I can purchase the one with Gannon figure.

        • Fred

I got ya. I’ve been playing it and I’ve been absolutely loving it. I never played this one on the Game Cube so it’s a brand new experience for me. The last Zelda game I played was Skyward Sword, which I liked, but I like this a lot more.
As for the controller, I own 4 Pro Controllers (I organize a lot of Wii U get togethers) and I prefer playing this game with the Game Pad. The touchscreen allows you to change which items are attached to which buttons without going to the menu and it saves a lot of time. You might consider doing this.

          • Javy G

Thank for tips… and you got a great set up there with your four Pro Controllers. I sense a multiplayer Smack Down coming soon with Smash Bros if you smell what the Rock is cooking. It just that I get cramps in my hand and need switch it up sometimes. And if it’s just me but I prefer the button layout SPIN on NSMBU than shaking the Wiimote. I will definite be playing WW for mostly on the GamePad for Tingle tune and special features, thanx.

  • Baum γ€Œγƒ„γƒͺー」

I hate everyone, who got it today πŸ˜›
I hate YOU, too, October 4th. Where the fuck are’ya?

    • Fred

Don’t be hatin. You decided to wait, not me. I hit download at 10:30 pm last night. (I was pleasantly surprised that midnight means midnight eastern and I’m in Utah) I’ll start my adventure as soon as I get off work today.

      • Baum γ€Œγƒ„γƒͺー」

You just let yourself look stupid (in two ways)…
        1st: I was joking (seriously…you couldn’t tell?)
2nd: The early download is JUST FOR NORTH AMERICA! I’m not bitching or anything and I’d buy it in the eShop…if I could.

        • Fred

I guess I was wrong you didn’t decide not to buy it. It’s odd to me how difference NCL, NOE and NOA are.

      • Noteak

No way you are from Utah too, I thought I was the only Utah nintendo fan.

        • david jarman

I lived in Utah for eight years and played nintendo all eight years! Does that count?

        • Fred

No you’re not the only one.

  • Emii

I’m waiting for the physical copy too but it’s going to be a hard time until I get it!

  • ZeldaFanzzzz

Heading to Gamestop right now, picking up the wii u winder waker bundle……OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Fred

That’s awesome man! I’m jealous of your gamepad and digital book

  • Guest

Even though I have the zelda bundle I actually prefer the physical copy also, physical copies will always be my first option when buying video games.

  • Baum γ€Œγƒ„γƒͺー」

lol, is this from Nintendo? “Lengend of Zelda” at the end πŸ˜€

  • Elitepwnsface

Bought gta 5 to keep me occupied till this comes out.

  • Adrian

Ahh, love that sound at the end.
I’ve never played this Zelda, as I dropped Nintendo once I got a PS2 (so my last Nintendo Console was a N64 before my WiiU). But it looks pretty good, I’ll probably get it eventually.

  • Jack5221

Getting the game 2 weeks early via digital download is nice, but to me thats not enough incentive to get digital over a physical copy. I feel like digital copies of games should be at least 10$ cheaper. Theres no CD, no case, it takes up A LOT more space on the hard drive, and no one had to spend time and money shipping it to retailers. Just my opinion, but I think digital copies of games should be cheaper. Super Luigi U is 20$ digital, 30$ physical. Why can’t all games be that way?

    • Petri

Well, digital Luigi requires original NSMBU.

But I would be happy if eshop prices were atleast up to par with retailers.
Splinter Cell 70€ on eshop, 48€ at launch on retailer.

    • Fred

It’s $5 cheaper. Think Deluxe Digital Promotion.
It may take up hard drive space, but you can plug in a 2 TB hard drive. That’s what I have and it doesn’t take up any shelf space (that’s a big problem for me) Also my kids can’t scratch break or lose my digital copies. Even if they delete them I can download them again.
I understand your point that you want them cheaper like Super Luigi $10, but you only get $5 from Deluxe Digital Promotion and the way I see it if they game is going to cost me $45 or $50 either way I’d rather see all of it go to the company that made the game than give $20 of it (or whatever it is) to Best Buy.

Needless to say, yes I downloaded the game last night and I’m very excited to play it as I never played it on the gamecube

    • Mike A

I will never buy a digital copy unless it’s $10 cheaper.. That’s the same rule I go by with my ebooks. Jack you make valid reasons why it should be cheaper and I also like to sell my games after I no longer play them. I admit I usually keep games made by Nintendo so I would never sell Zelda. Anyway, for those who downloaded the game Enjoy playing an awesome game while the rest of us wait in envy for the physical copy.

  • Razo_E

Downloaded it before I headed out to work. Only 3 more hours left until I can go home. AAAHHHHHHHH

  • DeedsGaming .

I feel sorry for myself because I live in the UK haha

    • Merrfn

New Zealand. Gonna go check if it is on the eShop over here…

  • Gotallofthem

I am greatly debating on if I should get this game. Here is my my dilemma, My back log of games is so big, it goes back to Gamecube,PS2, Xbox games. I Have the original Wind Waker (got it first day it came out), its still in the Box, and I opened it Once and put it in my system only once just to see the Intro, and never actually played it (part of my backlog), Now I am here debating on if I should just take the original stick it in my Cube and play it, or If I should just go buy this new HD version since technically for me its the First time.

  • Andy

Time to go and buy a Wii U… they finally sold me.

    • Elem187

Pick up Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3. You can thank me later

  • Sonic 2099 The Hedgehog

    Man I Love This Game

  • Castamere

Can someone who’s downloaded the game tell me how large Wind Waker HD is?

    • ShadowKnight7

      I heard it is around 1.7 GB…

      • fireheartis1

What that’s not a big download at all. I still have 24GB on my Deluxe Wii U. Man if I could afford the digital copy now I would download right this minute.

  • Sharingan

Darn it, I needed to wait for the LE edition!!!!!!

  • Tra Allen

played it before going to work. It is beautifulllllllll. can’t wait to go home :-(. I’m cursing out customers for no reason and shit

  • To bad I have it allready on my GC, but man, this HD remake looks really REALLY good even with my disliking taste for the cellshaded artstyle, this looks so damn good. Maybe I’ll get it later on anyway…

  • orpheus bryce

    Downloading now πŸ™‚

  • Merrfn

    I just want it… NOW!

  • bakedapplepie

Got the Wii U/ WW bundle, and I’m DL Wind Waker now. Can’t wait to play.

  • Jake

This was my first video game (not including ToonTown, which i am pissed that it is closed) and i am happy to reexpirence the game which is now 10x better. I really cant wait to play this.

  • Ganjabriel Del Campo

What ?? I does not suppose that today is the release of the bundle with the game for 299.99 ??

  • Shigeru Miyamoto

I love this game so much! I downloaded it at midnight but had to wait until after school to play, but it surely is awesome! I love the selfies feature!

  • fireheartis1

I don’t know why I watch these videos in 1080P when I only own a 720p TV lol. I guess I just want to see what it would look like if I owned a 1080p TV? But anyways I’m going to have to wait until October 4 because I can’t pay with PayPal on the eShop. If Nintendo made it were I could do that I would cancel my pre-order right now and buy it online, but alas not sure if that would ever happen.

  • 00EpicGamer00

Can’t wait for this game (as, it will be my first time playing WW.) Oh October 4th, could you please come here a little faster?

  • Steve

Still have to earn for it. I spent my game money on PokemonX.

  • GonΓ§alo Fernandes

I heard if you buy theο»Ώ GameCube version you get it 11 years before release date.

  • Elem187

BTW, the Wind Waker HD bundle is available from Sept 20th, not October 4th in the US…. The bundle is available in EU on October 4th.

  • Farespokemon

I really liked the original Wind Waker and it was my favourite zelda game EVER and i bought the HD one yusterday(call me stupid i dont care)and the fact that they fixed the proplems with the original and updated many shit……this might be my favourite game of all time(and thats quite an achievement)

  • orpheus bryce

I’m actually glad i didnt have a game cube when this came out. cause i’m really enjoying it now
