It’s official, Nintendo just revealed that the Wii U will support dual GamePad tablet controllers in the future, but for now, games will only use one controller. Nintendo’s Reggie Fils-Aime revealed at the Nintendo E3 press conference that the two Wii U GamePads will be able to connect to the console, but as of no there aren’t any games that support it. Nintendo said this was because they’d like educate people on what the single controller can do, before moving on and offering dual controllers. The full controller features were also unveiled, with its dual analog sticks, gyroscope, accellerometer, and more.

You forgot to say that with 2 controllers they confirmed the frame rate half’s!

    • Swic11

I just watched E3, and there was no mention of this.

      • Rawr

They did mention this during the animal crossing nintendo land thing. On the nintendo channel. So yeah it cuts the frame rate to half.

    • jeb

They deffinitely did not mention this.

    • EvanescentHero

Yeah, somehow I doubt Nintendo would support it if it would do something like that to the gameplay. The console must be more powerful than you seem to think it is.

    • Rawr

Damn you really don’t care about spelling.

  • F

YES!!! I think it would be worth it if they were to be sold individually.

    “…because they’d
like educate people on what the single controller
can do, before moving on and offering dual
    Oh! really now!?

  • EvanescentHero

Also…does this mean Wii U is the first console to support not only five players, but six players locally?

    • icanseeu

You can have seven on the PS3.

      • Miks

        I call bullshit on that.

        • CholoSwagger

yeah, well mijo its true, i gtta ps3 it support 7 controllers, ivee done it but i think ugtta turn ur mike offf

    • Adam

It was possible to use two Multi-Taps on the SNES for up to 8 players, but no games supported it.

I doubt we’re going to see a whole lot of 6-player games.

This is a great opportunity to make something like a Wii U Poker or something. just imagine, the tv screen is the table, and the game pads allow you to see your hand of cards but no one else.

    • Nils

But then it will only be a two player game…
But not if you give the controller to the player next to you.
