Nintendo has gone a long way in making the Wii U feel very much like a mobile device, even if it’s not. It’s got its own social network and tablet peripheral and if rumors reported by Japan Times are correct, then Nintendo could be looking to entice mobile developers to its doorstep. According to the paper, Nintendo is offering high-level conversion software to app developers in the effort to get them to port or produce smartphone games that can be played on the Wii U. This is likely one solution to the small game library available to Wii U owners. Nintendo hopes that hundreds of thousands of bite-sized games can tide its owners over until full releases like the new rumored 3D Mario game and the new Legend of Zelda game are ready to be played. What do you think of this? Would you buy smartphone games to play on your Wii U? [via Japan Times] local_offer Nintendo wii u wii u games stars Further Reading F-Zero X gets updated on Wii U to fix control New Zelda Breath of the Wild trailer and game Super Mario Maker Wii U vs 3DS comparison (vi Get Ocarina of Time on 3DS for only $14 New teaser site for Zelda: Breath of the Wild released How to track NES Classic Mini stock in time for Christmas ZakAttack7 That could well be a genius move on Nintendo’s part… it’s crazy, but I like it. If they can pull this off, it will be the perfect way to compete with the tablet/mobile phone gaming industry that is really threatening consoles, and a good method for attracting casual gamers as well as giving their current fanbase a bigger selection of games. jjmesa14 I do believe that this is great move by Nintendo, but it depends on the price. For example if Cut the Rope, Temple Run, and Fruit Ninja cost more than $3-$4 each I’d rather just play them on my iPad for $1-$2. Plus I could play them on my phone and iPod if I buy apps with Apple. If there was a way I could play those games on my 3DS without having to buy them again I’d definitely be a buyer. Fred If you go by Gunman Clive, $2 on Android, $2 on Apple, $2 on 3DS Fred And by the way it’s sold more copies on 3DS than on Android and Apple COMBINED!!! jjmesa14 Lets hope that’s the case. If you go by Angry Birds, $3 on Android, $3 on Apple, and $25 on 3DS, PS3, and XBOX. Fred Yea, but that’s because they went and made a cartridge so they have to pay to produce a physical cartridge then they had to charge enough to give a cut to Best buy/Game stop or whoever you buy it from. If it’s download only then they’ve proven that there’s no excuse to charge any more plus they have evidence that it’ll sell well at $2-3 jjmesa14 Another example is Cut the Rope. $1 on Android, $1 on Apple, $5 on 3DS eShop. bizzy gie On consoles it retailed for $29.99 because it was the whole trilogy in one and came with extra content. Even Injustice: Gods Among Us cost 30 bucks in the App store. Magnus Eriksson WiiU does not support multitouch. Anyway, this is another sign of failing. Zombie Boy Explain why this is a sign of failing? Magnus Eriksson Its a desperate move towards a third and last option of publishers. They lost every support from 3rd party, lack from indies and unable to produce anything themselves. Now turning to mobile gaming (wich obviously wont be a hit nor an argument for bying the console). Nintendo should make games for mobile phones themselves instead, that would be a huge hit. New Super Mario would bevPERFECT for this. Zombie Boy Really? From reading these pages and watching Nintendo Directs, I’d say that now we not only get those third party titles and Nintendo’s own games, but also these mobile games as well. Having the option to play these titles will not in any way affect Nintendo making their own games for the Wii U and third parties, rare as they may be, will still be producing games for the console if they want to (the same as before). The ability to play mobile games on the console won’t influence any of them. It’d be like saying “PCs can play games ported from the PS3 OR the XBox, so let’s not make any more PC games”! This is a win-win for Nintendo because not only will they be more attractive to the casual gaming crowd (meaning more sales of the console, meaning more developers interested in making games for it in the future), but they’ll also get to keep their existing third party publishers as well as their own games. And us Wii U owners now get another source of games coming in, so its good for us too. And if you don’t like mobile games… Don’t buy them! But at least now we have a choice that we never had before. Magnus Eriksson We dont have anything at all at the moment… Zombie Boy Well I’m waiting for Resident Evil Revelations, Project CARS, X and Watchdogs – all third party titles – and Pikmin 3, Super Smash Brothers U and the new Zelda title(s). In the meantime I’ll keep playing ZombiU, New Super Mario Bros and Monster Hunter – all great exclusive games – alongside awesome ports like Arkham City and NFS Most Wanted. And let’s not forget the ever-growing choice of eshop games, Virtual Console titles, and soon, mobile games. That’ll keep me going! Magnus Eriksson Ok, I agree that it sounds good. The problem is that this is just talk yet, we havent seen anything. So far the WiiU sucks, and everyday it seems like they are lowering their chances more and more. Virtual Console was quite crappy, this most people agrees with me. The sales has been crappy. The plan at E3 is crappy. Nintendo have some really bad management there, and seems unable to see that the problem is theirs not the customers “who doesnt get it”. Zombie Boy I’m not denying that Nintendo have made a lot of mistakes in regards to marketing, etc. Even they admitted that they never foresaw this drought of games. But people can’t deny that these games are now slowly starting to appear. And when they do – especially big system sellers such as Wii Fit U – then things may turn around for the Wii U. Magnus Eriksson But we havent seen anything yet, and this has actually been really typical for WiiU this gen. But I hope Im wrong and you right. Sofar the only thing I really enjoyed on WiiU is Rayman Challangez, and its annoying as hell that Nintendo lost its grip on that one. I think its due to poor business decisions betting on one hand without a backup plan. Zombie Boy I disagree that we haven’t seen anything yet. In the past couple of months we’ve seen NFS Most Wanted and Monster Hunter (both fantastic games), as well as games I wouldn’t buy (such as Lego City). Also there have been the Wii U updates, new games on the eshop and the launch of the Virtual Console. These have been released into the catalogue of already existing titles which, although small, has some great games. In the next few months we shall see Pikmin 3 and a few other games, which a lot of people are looking forward to. Like I said, those games ARE coming now. Just on a side note, whenever I’ve owned a console before (in my days before PC gaming), I’ve never owned more than ten games at a time, due to cash restraints. At £30 – £40+ per game, I imagine that most kids these days are in the same boat. So complaining that I can’t buy hundreds of games is irrelevant, as I wouldn’t be able to buy hundreds of games anyway! As long as I can buy a bunch of good ones, that’s what should matter. Magnus Eriksson What do you make out of news like this? http://www.vg247.com/2013/05/07/dice-frostbite-3-untested-on-wii-u-due-to-disappointing-frostbite-2-tests/ Zombie Boy It doesn’t bother me. Developers get better at developing for a system as time goes on. Look at the differences between Super Mario Bros and Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES. Sonic The Hedgehog and Sonic 2 on the Megadrive / Genesis. Bioshock and Bioshock Infinite. Far Cry 2 and Far Cry 3… and so on – yet the hardware did not change. The developers just learnt to make something better for the same consoles. This will happen with the Wii U (AND the other next-gen consoles) as well, over time. Joey Perez the system is not even a year old yet bud and they aren’t turning to anything its a just a rumor on this site… I am a nintendo fan yes but I am a fan of games in general and have all systems and a pc…. its all stratagey obviousely you know very little about marketing a product before you drop the goods… the small install base is due to the fact of low marketing by nintendo, only core gamers who love the system even know about it… what this does is allow nintendo to sell a few million systems… which will be beneficial for when they actually do produce great software as it will generate more console sales duly to the price cut that is inevitable and it will also give a larger population of owners to potentially buy software .. and software my friend is where the big money is made. same thing happened with the 3ds and they are being bought at descent rate while nintendo still makes profit on the purchase……… desperation know.. stratagy yes.. Magnus Eriksson How come that these theories you present here is ONLY to be found on this page. All other media seems to agree with my way of seeing this (or rather the opposite, me agreeing with them). Joey Perez because unfortunately most people in video game media are biased to what they want to believe.. im not old but I am not young I am 28 … I have seen all the big guys come and some go (sega) and nintendo is always looked at as an underdog yet they always end up making more than anyone with their software and games..this happens because nintendo is a publisher of its own games not like the other console who is pretty much totally 3rd party development with rights to exclusive titles.. gamecube wasnt a huge seller for consoles but if you look at the gamecube line up its 90% nintendo software that did extremely well on it even if nintendo continues to do this they profit… for themselves will nintendo have as many 3rd party developers as the sony or xbox coming I dont know.??? but what is for certain is it wont fail in terms of nintendo making money …. and i do hope it is a great machine like the SNES which was spited against when genesis was the big deal… yet nintendo squashed the comp… and though it sounds redundent… a starfox, a zelda, a mario, a metroid, a pikimin a donkey kong, a wii fit a f-zero, a smash brothers, will all sell millions not hundreds of thousands but millions.. and though they may not be the FPS dream game they are favored amongst people who do like a challenge and to critically think .. go brows vita titles.. then brows 3ds … for further clarifaction of my earlier comment … look how quickly ninendo forked out the 3ds… which probably costs the same amount to make as the original 3ds this goes to show it was planned out …. get the core gamers with the first 3ds to buy…. then when a big install base is finally there release software… but this time have an xl model available to attract those who were hesitant in the first place…. its not a matter of how come .. me and you both know the media paints a one sided picture especially here in the united states…. believing the media and even writers opinions on this page is a juxtaposition to agreeing with a review from IGN who usually is way off…. and keep in mind most media people only grew up with a ps2 at its end… and for the majority of their lives had a ps3 or xbox… a writer who may be 24 by now… was only 12… when ps2 vs gamecube vs orig xbox… the way i grew up was… NES SNES Gamecube….. then ps2… so in a matter of speaking they are sony/microsft fan boys the way i am a nintendo fan boy its what we grew up with that we appreciate….. the wii u.. will do well it will market more this year and we will probably see a new model available by xmas… but what do i know ? i only have a masters in creative media and design and bachelors in marketing… im probably wrong and will eat my words right? <— sarcasm just in case you were being literall… personally you may be right they may be theories as i havent truly researched the medias view on wii u … as im sure it was the same coverage the wii … and gamecube got… they said it was underpowered… and lacks online… well they still sold more units than expected and made piles of cash.. but magnus if i do come across info ill be glad to share it… no hate on my end just knowledge and opinion as well .. but i do promise when i write something its well thought out. Ice Climbers Nintendo has not lost all 3rd party support. Sega, Square Enix, Namco Bandai, Atlus, Capcom, Ubisoft, Warner Bros, and even Activision are supporting the Wii U. Indie devs have been praising the Wii U and how easy Nintendo has been to work with. The games aren’t out yet is all. As for Nintendo’s own games, they are coming. Be patient. D.M.T You’re an idiot dude. If you think the Wii U is a failure than why are you here? Get the fuck out Magnus Eriksson You are a crybaby, get over the fact that people have different opinions. Yes I know that YOU would like this page to be a fansite free from criticism and only celebration. Sorry, this is the world, uo cannot have it your way. D.M.T Cry baby? Haha you’re the one crying and bitching about Wii U having no games etc. No one is celebrating the success of Wii U but to talk negative about the Wii U all the time and then call yourself a fan of the Wii U is hypocritical. If you don’t like the Wii U then sell it and leave this page. I accept criticism but only from intelligent and polite gamers, not from ignorant gamers like you who are judging the Wii U too soon. But you’re right…this is the world, I cannot have it my way so stay here and continue to make yourself look like an idiot. Magnus Eriksson Soooo maaaad… Ok! How old are you? 14? NkoSekirei ignore him he just retarded wen it comes to facts and other stuff and hes supposed to be an adult. He should be acting his age not acting like a 12 year old troll Magnus Eriksson retarded, idiot, fuck you, stupid… Yeah, thats really grown up things to say. Maybe you could teach me how to be a real grown up, one like you? Jon I don’t think so, if they have the ability to do this why not? it would help with competition and give then new areas to market and put them where the newer markets are leading. Magnus Eriksson Wouldnt it be better if Nintendo started to make software for mobile phones instead? There they could shine again. Jon If this kicks off, it could be possible, unlikely but who knows Wayne Beck The vast majority of smartphone games don’t require multitouch. The only ones that do, only do so to imitate a Nintendo Controller. Magnus Eriksson Look at the text I commented. Do any of those games have multitouch (which is btw becoming quite standard). Wayne Beck No, they don’t. All of those games require single touch commands, or in temple runs case, no touch at all. Guest Embracing and trying to get one of the fastest growing forms of entertainment on your console to get more people to use your console instead of others is a sign of failure? Wow you must think that Android is failing by trying to get Apple/Ipad users to buy from there app store/use there phones when they are actually very successful. Magnus Eriksson No I dont think Android is failing. I dont think Nintendo either, but I think WiiU is. bizzy gie Yeah. On the 3DS, Cut the Rope costs $4.99 yet costs 99¢ on Google Play and the App store. GuardiansFan i agree…and this could lead to a lot of affordable 3D games…that part has me the most excited Mark Thom COOL 🙂 david daniel wharton camacho 1st? david daniel wharton camacho and i would love to see some awesome games i have on my ipod, including metal slug! i mean this is great if the prices are correct david daniel wharton camacho and WTF with the guy on the plane, i am ashamed of nintendo fans now 🙁 D.M.T Ashamed? Are you out of your mind? Playing your Wii U on the plane is the coolest thing ever, especially on long flights. This is something that no other console can do believe that. val berger it can, but not that easy. a friend of mine used to take his xbox into a train, as he had to go there for 8 hours once in a while. many cables and peripherals, but he had actually fun i guess 😉 D.M.T Dude i mean naturally. No other console can do this naturally like the Wii U. They dont have screens on a controller incoherent1 Seriously. My favorite part of this article (absolutely no offense, Ashley — great article), was this photo. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. This is what I’m doing on my next long haul flight that has a power outlet 🙂 Bob Wilkerson With the touch capable gamepad this kind of makes sense. It won’t be as mobile as a tablet or a smartphone because it is tied to the console but it may be a good choice for those that like to play a quick game normally found on a tablet and do not want to spend an extra $200+ to get one just to use around the house. Mason742 It been confirmed that low level 2d games like chess will be playable away from the connection to console. So I wouldn’t be to surprised if angry birds or cut the rope was able to be played away from the console. Fred Wait, What? Where did you read this? gimpcell the gamepad has the images streamed to it. Itself has no processing power to store and produce games without console interaction. This is a baseless fact that i want to be true but likely will not happen. now if they made a mini wii u i could plug into the bottom peripheral on the pad and play digital games away from console i would be all over it… because i would sleep with it in my bed. we can dream, we can all dream Wayne Beck I’ve actually been thinking about that myself. Nintendo does have a habbit of adding a bunch of unused ports to consoles. It’s not impossible for them to add a hardware feature to the gamepad in the future. lonewolf88 dude it is happening nintendo has talked about this for like ever and people are acting like its new dude read!!! read!!! my gosh! gimpcell What is happening? range extender? mini Wii u? read what? lonewolf88 ios android apps ect they’ve been talking about it since it was released at e3…..this is real its not a rumor lmao read gimpcell I do know that. I thought you were talking about console off and gamepad as stand-alone handheld. glad we agree and concur. lonewolf88 oooh nope but you can play it in cars now lol and we’ve seen it on a train so i guest you can play it on long trips Wayne Beck Deleted. Read your comment wrong. Gecko Altair Great idea. Potemkin Base it on the Android platform and it will be perfect! D.M.T Nintendo doing big things as usual, this is why i love this company. Oh and that picture is badass. Playing Wii U in an airplane? How cool is that? Shit I gotta do that one day!!! wow That guy was on japanese high speed railway(Shinkansen)…..not airplane…. D.M.T Lol really? Well it’s still awesome and Wii U is the only console that can do that. Wii U is a portable console lol Paul What do you mean rumored new Mario? It’s confirmed to be playable at E3 Zombie Boy This would be awesome. There are loads of great smartphone games out there (including some classics that we probably won’t get on the Virtual Console). As long as we aren’t paying too much more than we would if we were actually playing it on a smartphone… I assume they’d be downloaded via the eshop (the article makes no mention of this)? And another thing, after seeing that photo… Why haven’t Nintendo played upon the portability of the console? I’d never have thought to play it on a plane or train, but now I’ve seen it, its obvious, and could be a big selling point over the competition. gimpcell That is the most amazing picture ever! I want to do that so bad! reminds me of a portable pc video i saw on youtube. dude walks in with crt monitor, tower, kb, and sits at a cafe surfing. just hilarious. val berger As usual, I feel like being the only one who isn’t really into the idea of having stuff like angry birds on my home console. there are barely a few quality games for mbile devices and if there’s a reason why I bought a Nintendo console although I own an iPad, then because Nintendo games just matter. Of course, nobody forces me to buy that stuff, but still I don’t see what’s great about that. Sure, maybe it isn’t that bad considering that the mobile app market is growing and expanding, but still in terms of gameplay value we should ask ourselves if times are really that harsh so we prefer solutions like this over real games? and yeah, I know there are real games available for those platforms too, but I guess the ones being ported will be the usual suspects like Cut the Rome, Angry Birds and so on. Magnus Eriksson This! So very true and wise. Blu_J As usual feel like you as well my friend. I’m a very core gamer/ Nintendo gamer & I agree, this definitely does not fill the void in my eyes. You also got to remember majority of Nintendo owners besides a handfull of us are very young or not a real core gamer, so any chance for some of them to play any game is a plus no matter what type it is. But your not alone with your comment. Wish it wasn’t like that but I’m with ya! Wii keep getting a slap in the face with this system wii dished nearly $500 on including games, which wasn’t a gift, I spent my money mommy & daddy didn’t buy it for a 12yr old here. So I expect more for my money Nintendo! I’m trying to stay loyal. I can say this is some attempt of trying its desperate but it’s something. But….. not good enough for mii. val berger thanks, I started to feel like an outcast here as many ppl are just always YAYing everything Nintendo might or might not be deciding without really thinking about the big picture. lonewolf88 what is dominateing the gaming industry? casuals what do casuals play? iphone games.. see nintendo isn’t getting hardcore with this but getting casual remember nintendo said they wanted this to both attract casuals and the hardcore and if shadow of the eternals isn’t hardcore enough for you then you have very high demands…. anyways it looks like torment tides of numeria and wasteland 2 might be coming to wii U after they release the pc version and ps4 still aren’t getting these games that run on unity! Zuxs13 So what would you rather them do. Keep expanding the high priced block buster games so game development cost keep skyrocketing? or also expanding to allow low cost, open development for a wider range of gaming experiences? Just because they are also providing a free conversion of IOS made games (which this is what it is this was talked about at GDC this year) Doesn’t mean Nintendo is making IOS games. All it means is those small developers who have made a ton of Apps/games over the last 4-5 years now can easily and relatively cheaply expand to the Wii U (and maybe 3ds). Alvaro Castañeda That would be a smart move. Would love to see a Skype app for Wii U by the way. Chiwawaboi dont we have wii u chat? Silent Yeah, but not everyone has a Wii U. Its better to call someone from a Wii U to another electronic device, than call someone from a Wii U to a Wii U. Chiwawaboi good point. ilovegoogleglass Hell yeah i would ,but Nintendo should come up with a way that you can make games without the $1000 devkit. Zuxs13 They already have a way its through the webkit and HTML 5 and this converter provided by IBM that converts IOS to HTML 5 and Wii U. Plus they are giving out Wii U dev kits to many people. Robknoxious1 I love the idea. The Wii U can bring to smartphone games the buttons that some of them really need on top of the touchscreen functionality. The only thing Wii U doesn’t offer is multi-touch but that’s not a big deal in most cases. Zuxs13 This is old news. At GDC this year IBM said they had a software that could easily convert IOS games to HTML and be playable on the Wii U. wober2 I wish they would port over those ds and 3ds games first. Some of the best smartphone games like “Ghost Trick” started on ds. Just would love to see virtual console releases at least synced. There are so many good 3ds titles now… c’mon nintendo help port those. ReturnoftheTruth2 They seem to be getting and wanting games from all areas except the main one – the Wii U itself! If people have to settle for half-assed games from download or made for phones, what good is the Wii U again? Zuxs13 Yeah damn them for expanding their market and providing even more developers easy access to their consoles and sales. They should just be like MS and charge a ton of money and make the development cost of games so high that no one can afford to makes new and innovative games for them, just more Halo and CoD clones. ReturnoftheTruth2 That’s right – damn them. As usual, Nintendo will have their consoles filled with junk. At this rate, people might as well buy that Ouya. Zuxs13 nah Ouya only does android stuff. the Wii U will be able to do IOS as well. And I want Junk from all developers, The more small Junk Nintendo gets the closer they can get to catching up to the Mountain of Junk MS has piled under their broken consoles. Jon except the games for the Wii U are coming and we know this. Things like this take time to develop and Nintendo tends to take care in their games to release a great quality game. We have the dates and time frames for some of these so really, complaining that they are not here yet because we are not even close to a lot of the dates is just stupid and has no point at all. Time does not move faster because you say the games are not going being released. If they can expand to include another market, then why not? Considering how big the market is for some of those games, why not move to have the Wii U be able to get in on that. it is actually a very good marketing strategy with will put them to competing more with the others. lonewolf88 wii U is also gettting unity games while ps4 can’t and is getting pc supported HTML5 games that ps4 can’t example runescape html5 and now i believe 3 more are releaseing HTML5 support “yes these are all mmo rpgs” it can also play games that the ps4 can’t because of controller incompatibilitys such as battle world kronos star craft ect and they get all the games ps4 and 720 get so really were getting way extra ps4s advantage power graphics. wii Us advantage more features more games casual games the possibility of endless apps skype game chat ect possibility of endless mmo rpgs with the game pad ect ect ect Silent Good enough to get you 7 down votes. Ducked This is a little pointless. Now before you bash me, think of the better things Nintendo could do until the full games come? All of the NES and SNES games that could be added to the Wii U virtual console. And think about a Nintendo 64 virtual console coming to the Wii U in the summer. Why invest in games that people play all the time when there gone? I think the touchpad on the Wii U gamepad controller fits it, but I don’t see that much of a draw.. Chiwawaboi why bring phones into this. and why would I want to play my games on a small ass screen, when I can play it on the gamepad/HDTV(40inch.)?? long story short; phones are for calling, oh, and the phone games that people play. (im not really a fan of phone games). and just imagine how much battery it would kill. I cant even play minecraft pocket edition, without my phone getting hot as a sona. I’ll play my angry birds on my phone, while my main games on my TV/gamepad. the only thing I agree with concerning phones, is being able to get on miiverse on the go…. annnnd, im probably talking to much now… you get what im saying though, right? Chiwawaboi Is it me, or does that look like a SSBB case would look? I know its a NSMBU case, but just glance at it for a sec. it just looks like it. Wayne Beck This isn’t a rumour.. Nintendo has been talking about this since they first announced the Nintendo HTML5 development software. They said, outright, this software will allow app developers to port their software to Wii U in minutes. This is not new, but is nice to here that it sounds like Nintendo is actually pushing it. Nermin Hasanovic Nintendo should focus on making great game and release PIKMAN 3 a.s.a.p, and Metriod and zelda, Cut the rope will not save them! They should bring more great games to Virtual Console, content you can’t get on a Ipad or Iphone! That is the power Nintendo has, bring on the twin snakes for gamecube on the gamepad and stop focusing on things that are not your strengths Nintendo! dam just do a swot analysis and you will see that mobile apps should be in the “opportunity” section! Dominic Coradazzi Well it kinda makes sense (touch screen) I think it’s a pretty smart idea even though I’d probably never use it give or take a few games that seem like full games rather than simple time-killers Joel Because THAT’S what the hardcore gamers want! Shitty-ass flash games! Oh wait, no it isn’t we want real, true, serious games. Banemus i hope its a lot of ipad games because android games suckkkkk Johny NOOOOOOOOO Smartphone and tablet games are really lame.. i mean seriously lame… they’re bad excuse for games. its crap and i dont want it on my gaming platform. let them stay on phones n’ shit Ice Climbers There are some real games on iOS. GTA Vice City being one of them. Johny no offense… but i think the way that kind of originally good games controll on touch only devices really bad and dont do the game justice… theres no feel for controlls.. literally. and i dont think im the only one who hates screwing with myself when im sliding thumbs over the screen which should be used to …see stuff… im not saying the controlls could be done really much better… becouse thats it. there are no buttons, you only have a touchscreen to work with, which is a HUGE drawback when you would (IF) consider serious gaming on a touch-only device. Its like the Wiimote wouldnt have any buttons. yeah… exactly (also thats one of aspects why kinect just… didnt work. it worked very well for what it could do… kinda….. and thats it. you cant play serious games on that) Ice Climbers While I agree that touch-only doesn’t work for games like Vice City, it is possible for physical controls to be used for these games on the Wii U. If Ouya can add physical controls, the Wii U can too. Johny hmm you think so ?… because that would be decent. Clairvius I say its a smart move i personally don’t like the mobile games and only play them when i need to poop but not everyone is the same and these small simple games can be addicting as fuck and to me no content is bad content if you put superman 64 on the Wii U im sure someone will play it besides the addition of some physical buttons to the game-play might make a few games more enjoyable for me and as far as all the Doom Theories take your fanboy asses back to ps4 or 720 or Jaguar whatever you praise Nintendo is simply attempting to please everyone and give anyone a reason to want to play the system keep your eyes peeled haters i wouldn’t be surprised to see your almighty Sony and Microsoft incorporate this into there systems kinda sad when your hero’s follow Nintendo for their Ideas always have and always will Christopher Acuna LAME! If I wanted this nonsense I would buy an Ouya. NintendoNoob If it’s possible to just take the gamepad with you to play smartphone games I would (try to) do a backflip!!! Anything But M$ Are they just thinking of this now? Seems like something they should have had prepared 1 or 2 years ago. It won’t exactly be a selling point for the console, but with many more apps available, the Wii U platform will feel more alive. Jonathan What kind of plane is that?! Loads of leg room and huge windows! Cap9 I think it’s not a good idea. I don’t want the wii u to flood with a bunch of garbage mobile games. If so, it needs to have a separate section within the eShop devoted only to these mobile type games because it will cludder the quality game library. smashbrolink Of course the bite size games will have their own section. That said; having those games flood the E shop won’t degrade the quality of the big-name titles. The only people who will bash the Wii U for this move are the people who already hate it with a purple passion, and haters aren’t worth your time in any case so why care about their opinion, you know? nicki yeah! then i will crush my mom’s smartphone! Kirbyomega I like it!
