With all the controversy over Ubisoft’s Rayman announcement last week, it seems like game developers directly involved with Wii U titles are going out of their way to make sure they’ve made fans aware of how much they’re supporting the Wii U. In a recent interview with Official Nintendo Magazine, Capcom has confirmed that Resident Evil: Revelations will offer off-screen play along with support for the Pro Controller.

Producer Tsukasa Takenaka spoke to Official Nintendo Magazine about the game:

I wouldn’t want to be so presumptuous as to say that everyone will enjoy one version more than another, but there are definitely features in the Nintendo Wii U version that are not found on other consoles.

It’s nice to see developers embracing the platform like this, especially Capcom since they’ve been rather steadfast in stating that ports weren’t the future for the Wii U. What do you think about off-screen play for the title? Are you excited? Let us know in the comments.

  • sweet it supports the pro controller

    • JumpMan

i can tell you put *so* much thought into that comment, and it sure made my day better.

      • David Rampa

same can be said about your arrogant comment.

      • iam glad i made your day!! have a good one man!

  • Inu

Hopefully offscreen means aiming via Metroid Nintendo land style, would like to see more games taking advantage of that.

  • Jimmy D. Fugate

I am very excited for this game. So glad I will be able to play without the Tv as well. I hope it’s scary.

  • David Rampa

i played it on 3ds and im happy ppl will get to play it on console too.

  • Johny

the game on the 3ds was AMAZING.. and the graphics were unbeliavable… it had good online co-op too. im glad the devs are adding support for the pro controller in more games.. the same said for the off-screen play.

  • I played the 3DS demo when it came out, and I wasn’t very impressed with how difficult the controls were to manage. But if this version has solid controls and solid gameplay, it’ll definitely be a buy, especially considering that Rayman Legends was pushed to September and Aliens Colonial Marines turned out to be shitty.

    • Nintenjoe82

      Aliens better not be shitty!

      • tomtank91

it isn’t, it’s absolutely brilliant, especially if your a big fan of Aliens.

        • Anthony K Aurelia

a 4.5 for PS3/360 version doesn’t make me too confident for the WiiU version…unless they push it back a lil to fix some issues.

          • Nintenjoe82

I knew I’d just nuked any chance of it being good with my comment.

Fingers crossed that the previewers for the Lego game aren’t big fat liars like they have been for every other hyped up game. I might cry if that game ends up being anything less than the best Lego game ever.¬†

Having said all that I will probably just see for myself with Aliens because games like AC3,BO2 and Halo4 got amazing review scores and were pretty average in the end. ZombiU got terrible scores and was not terrible. Just terrible graphics.

          • Anthony K Aurelia

Zombie U had mixed reviews…Aliens was low across the board….mainly for stupid AI and graphic issues…which may be better for WiiU since it is supposed to be more powerful.

  • cool. I downloaded the demo for 3ds. I almost crapped myself because a monster was attacking me, and it so so freakin’ hard to aim with the little circle pad. hopefully the Wii u version will be better. Oh, and OFF SCREEN play?!!! this game is awesome!

  • Can you play off screen using a pro controller while watching the gamepad like a TV?

    • uPadWatcher

It’s a possibility… but we’ll just have to wait until Capcom confirms for more info and details.

    • bizzy gie

I do that with BO 2 all the time. It’s fun controlling a controller with a controller. I’m 90% sure you will be able to do so.

      • Sounds kinda odd, but it makes sense being that the controller has a screen. Still strange, however.

        • bizzy gie

That’s Nintendo for ya. Innovation is their middle name.

    • Lazara the Last

I sometimes do that with AC3 when I don’t want to play with the Gamepad ūüėČ

  • Srpg2ishere

    Flippin awesome!!!

  • Not sure if i will buy this because i already have it for the 3ds and beat it ..but who thinks i should get this …not sure yet

    • I’m getting it, but that’s cause I don’t have a 3DS and not too huge on handhelds. However, imo it’s really up to you. Do you feel that an HD port is worth your money? I’d only buy it if you plan on trading your 3DS version in. If not, I’d say stick with the 3DS….unless you wanna buy it to support the Wii U. All in all, do what feels right to you.

      • ¬†Well it depends on how well it looks in Hd since ps3 can’t do 1080p i think the wii u would be awesome

        • Darkscarab

I dont know if it will be full 1080p yet it is capable of it but i think right now developers and Nintendo them selves need to learn more about it till the true power and 1080p comes to the wii u.
i might be wrong but im pretty sure i read somewhere that it most launch window games and then more will be 720p. once again not sure if the article said first party games or both. i cant be arsed to find it so sorry im sure you could find it on google tho.

          • ¬†Well the new mario game runs 1080p hd i checked into that but yes the games can run 1080p

      • Anthony K Aurelia

I’m the same way on handhelds…which is why I will probably pick this one up…plus I wanted RE:6 just to see that was a failure…glad I never bought it.

        • I never bought RE:6 and canceled my pre-order when I saw the bad reception. I was convinced it sucked when I tried out the demo on xbox live. I still plan on getting 6….when it goes down to about 20 bucks. Revelations I will get most likely for ps3 since I don’t plan on getting a Wii U until there’s a better install base of games.
