Wii U Party is an anticipated game for the Nintendo Wii U, with focus on party and mini-games. The game will showcase many of the important Wii U features, including the Wii U controller and its tablet features. Nintendo showcased a lot of mini games featuring Mii characters at E3 2011. Some of these games included a hide and seek game, where the player with the Wii U controller would hide from the others, and use the controller’s screen as his monitor, while other players used regular Wiimotes and the main TV screen to find him. Wii U Party will support up to 5 players at the same time. Wii U Party mini games Nintendo showcased some of the games that are expected to make it into Wii U Party. These mini games include: Hide and Seek: one player would use the tablet controller to hide, while the other three players would look for him. As the image above shows, the 4 other players are trying to find the 5th player, who is hiding somewhere on the map. Fly Swat: another game showcased was a mini game where three players controlled small, colorful “flies”, while the player with the Wii U tablet would try and catch and swat them. Map Quest game: a large, exotic map is the playground where one player knows the directions and has to help the others find the treasures before the time runs out. Online multiplayer support was hinted at by Nintendo, a feature which would involve a new set of mini games specifically tailored for online multiplayer. Wii U Party could very well be a launch title for the Wii U, since it perfectly displays what the Wii U console can do. However, Nintendo could hold out and release the game later when the console has an established player base. Nintendo is rumored to be working on many similar “party” games, including Wii U Play and Wii U Sports.
