Nintendo will launch the Wii U with two models: the white “Basic” model, which includes the console, GamePad, AC adapter for the console and the controller, HDMI cable, a sensor bar, and 8 GB internal storage. The black “Deluxe set” adds some additional goodies, including stands for the console and controller, 32 GB of storage, and a copy of Nintendo Land. Nintendo released two infographics showcasing the two models, what’s included in the box, and some photos of the added accessories. Check ’em out below (click the images for larger versions):

  • ViceGrip

Why don’t they Offer both colors for each model ? The price is right for both in my opinion. I just want a deluxe model in white.

    • Wii U Daily

I guess it’s more of an incentive to get the black model, as it’s considered “pro” or “hardcore” (or something like that). But if anyone’s planning to get Nintendo Land, you might as well get the Deluxe model since the game retails for $60 — you’ll be saving 10 bucks and getting a bunch of extra stuff (and a lot more storage).

      • ridley vs. samus

wow… i thought i was just gonna get a basic pack and nintendo land on the side, until i realized i would actually spend more money that way. 🙂 what’s the point of the basic edition if you want nintendo land?

        • Johny

yep… if you want nintendo land OR ZombiU that come bundled with the deluxe pack,… you have NO reason not to get it…. unless u dont like it cuz its black ^^ (+ u get some stands, extra memory, and premium subscription for -10% of all downloadable content)

          • DR. spankalot

and i just love the fact that the wii u is almost twice as expensive here in Norway than it is in USA :L

          • DR. spankalot

for the love of god, it`s roughly 522,68 USD here :L

          • Adriel

DR. spankalot, be grateful you live not in Brazil, where the price easily goes three, maybe four times higher that the original…

        • Mike

It’s probably just a budget option, so if you don’t have the money at the time, but you still want the console right now, then you can buy the basic option.

          • Novum Magus

You could definitely be on the right track Mike. Add to that the fact that they are still going to provide experiences for the casual gamer (like dance/sing games and workout titles) those of whom would probably go with the Basic White set, as they have no need for the online downloadable games discount nor Nintendo Land.

      • AKA-Link77

Yah its a pretty OWSM deal!
Nin. Land: This is the cause of the 50 extra $ but you save 10 bucks!
        G-Pad Charging cradle: Free!
        G-Pad Stan: Free!
        Wii U™ Stan: Free!
Memory: Quadruple more (32 GB) memory of the basic! FREE!
        Color (Black) : FREE! XD

        • Colton

          Never say that again.

          • AKA-Link77

No! im going to keep saying it.
i dont care! i do wat i want!

        • The Quoter

I don’t know who you are. I don’t know what you want. If you are looking for attention, I can tell you I don’t have the time. But what I do have are a very particular set of skills; skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you. If you stop saying “OWSM” now, that’ll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don’t, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will destroy your computer.

          • AKA-Link77

i use my wii for my internet browsing. so HA! ima keep sayn’ it!

          • AKA-Link77

            “Good Luck . . . “

          • Michael

Dude, I’ve been reading his comments that say OWSM for about three months. I was going to say something similar, but I couldn’t have put it better than you did. Seriously though, just say awesome like a normal person. OWSM makes you look like you’re twelve.

          • π

            what’s owsm? o.o

        • Kybalion

Don’t forget, sensor bar: Free! XD

        • Elite

Going to be negitive here. I really don’t need anything in the deluxe addition. I don’t particularly care for Nintendo land and i also have extra external hard drives lying around. So i pre-ordered the basic. Won’t lie here my cat would totally knock my console off that stand that they provide in the deluxe, so its more of a hazard in my home.

      • bandit

I seriously doubt Nintendo Land is going to retail for $60 in light of the fact that the Deluxe bundle is charging $50 for Nintendo Land, three accessories, and 24GB of internal storage.

        1. I expect Nintendo Land to be a very deep game, but that doesn’t mean that the game was particularly costly to make.

        2. Nintendo wants skeptical Wii U owners to buy Nintendo Land.

        3. Nintendo doesn’t want to piss off owners of the basic set. Those potential buyers who can’t obtain the deluxe set and also want to play Nintendo Land would be mad about having to pay $60 for the game.

With those things in mind, I expect Nintendo Land to retail for $40.

        • bandit

By the way, I’m aware the game is listed at $60, but I don’t think that’s necessarily final.

          • Grodus

I was thinking more like $30, and hoping $20 if not included (getting deluxe anyway), and I, too, think that it isn’t final. You are however, even if it’s $30, getting a really good deal, epecially with the premium promotion thing.

        • Alienfish

I’ve got to agree with you on this one. People are going to see a minigame compilation for $60 and then pick up their tablet and play some free minigames, never giving Nintendo Land another thought. I would even say $30 would be reasonable for this game simply because this is the game Nintendo wants everyone to have.

Oh, and that black WiiU is mine. I would pay the extra $50 just for the black plastic and extra storage.

      • AKA-Link77

Im getting the delux one just because its BLACK.

The deluxe package better come with Medea.

      • dojo

finally a person who paided attention to wht i payed attention to i like u ya but the 349 bundle will be cheaper in every way and better

      • 007 1/2

        duz the cradle charge it

        • NintendoMan :D

yeah i think. The stand is just a stand for video chat and stuff and the cradle is if you don’t want to walk 3 feet and plug it into the wall.

    • EponaVsCrimsonLoftwing

It’s probably easier for them, in the long run, to have just one color of each model. If they have multiple of each, then that could leave unsold stock. Now, if you want premium, you aren’t waiting around for your color to come in. If you want white, you get white, if you want black, you get black. Deluxe is deluxe and plain is plain. This people from being all picky about everything. You have options between models, but options for each could cause the shortage they want to not necessarily happen, because then people will wait for their black deluxe to get back in, cause white isn’t hardcore enough, and people who want white regulars won’t have to wait for white to get back in, cause that’s what they’re getting. I mean, getting the deluxe is actually good since Nintendo land would cost more than that anyhow, and with a bit extra memory (though, considering the size of the games, that probably won’t go too far) and the extra cradle and stands, I say deluxe is worth it, even if you want white. I did too, but in the end, a Wii U is a Wii U, and it’s the better one, so yeah

    • Kahhhhyle

I’m with you Vice. I never understood why Microsoft did it and I don’t know why Nintendo would do it especially since white seems to be the official color

    • Anthony

Yes, please make the deluxe edition come out in white too!

      • Kahhhhyle

I hope you can get it but it’s too late for me. I already preordered haha

      • rip

If you get a white one u ain’t hardcore lol. White is the orginal color i agree with u someone at Nintendo needs to make it deluxe. Been reading alot of fans complaining about this issue.

        • Kahhhhyle

It really just doesn’t make sense haha and it’s not like it will cost more to allow both colors for both sets…

        • Elite

Say what!!! Kid i think the hardcore will get the white because it doesnt come with anything useful for the hardcore(Hardcore like me have external hard drives, i happen to have 2 1tb external drives). Hardcore wont care to much for ninland. Looks good but dont see paying an extra 50 for it. Lets not even talk about the stand and other extras. I would rather use the extra 50 to go towards another game. My game pickups are zombieu and super mario u.

    • Jetty

Agreed 100%. I understand the deluxe set as more incentive for Nintendo to gain less loss and more profit.

    • 007 1/2

i think the white should have been 250. there is no reasn to get the white one besides its cheaper. for 50 extra, u get a game that would be $60, a stand and cradle, and 24 extra gigabytes. nintendo must b losing money unless the rumor that the wii u costs 180 to make is true.

    • mikey

does any of the packs come with a game pad charger or do you buy them seperately? Or am I just a blind bat that doesn’t realise that the stands are chargers?

      • NintendoMan :D

Longest reply chain ever. Im getting black. AWWWWW YEEEAAAHHH!!!!!

  • Rasta

IM getting the Black deluxe 32GB Wii U with a White Pro controller cause im like that!!!!

    • Kamon

      *snaps finger* You go gurl!

  • Wii Uoops!

    Oh, these goodies are so…
incredible. I love this! So much good news all in one day.

  • relaxingbedo

Wow I this is gonna be such an Awesome Console ^_^. This is gonna be an awesome Christmas 😀 and a great 5 years or more…….

    • Joesatmoes

idk why, but i think this generation will last way longer than the generations b4. I think PS4 will be a bit held back, since Xbox leads in third party support, and Nintendo is the king when it comes to exclusives. PSVita did not sell too well, and the PS3 was sold at a loss. They did have some good exclusive games, but those were very few and not popular enough to help Sony’s videogame sales. This gen, its gonna be Microsoft VS Nintendo. XBox 720 with the power, and the money to buy over third party, BS Nintendo, with major exclusives probably announced when Xbox 720 and/or PS4 are announced, to steal some of their thunder, and solid third-party support from Ubisoft, EA and Activision, three of gaming’s biggest companies, which can only snowball into more and more third party support. This time around, Nintendo has a chance!

      • ei8bitNinty

I don’t think so… it will always be a 5 year lifespan for its console. Imagine what can Nintendo do for their next console. a 4k reso support perhaps? Technology is fast and prices are dropping like flies. Just a thought. ^_^

      • Grodus

Ok, first of all, BS Nintnedo? Um, in that sentence, I wanna know what BS stands for. Second of all, this time around? They completely dominated and destoyed the competition last year. Please respond.

        • EvanescentHero

Joe probably meant VS, not BS.

      • Kybalion

Tecmo-Koei and Namco-Bandai are hardly supporting Nintendo as well.

  • Swic11

    Too pumped!

  • EponaVsCrimsonLoftwing

With the Digital Premium Service, Nintendo Land, stands, cradle, and bonus memory space I’m all in for the deluxe version. Nintendo Land pays for itself, and if you don’t care for that, the premium digital can very well pay for itself off with getting bonus points equivalent to a 10% off deal, that’s awesome. And it lasts for a few years. So alright!

  • Crapcake

Speaking of nintendo land, i wish Nintendo would make an actual amusement park with rides, games, and snacks based off our favorite Nintendo characters!

    • EvanescentHero

Yes. Me too. I would live there.

My girlfriend and I actually discussed this when I told her about Nintendo Land. What if all game companies had amusement parks? I’d probably spend most of my time at Nintendo’s and Valve’s. Just don’t go to Frictional’s if you want to live… (They made Amnesia and Penumbra, two very good horror games.)

    • Donnaclus

Okay, this is not my joke, but I really need to share this…

“Your body must be this ready to ride this attraction.”

  • DragonChi

The article neglects to mention one other fairly major perk for buying the Deluxe version. You are signed up to an exclusive club/service, much like the 3DS had for first time buyers. You are firstly given 500 points to put towards any game on the eShop as an initial reward for getting the Deluxe version, but you also get a 10% discount when you buy those games. Naturally, you gain more points when you buy physical copies of games.

  • Goobypls

Wow 🙁 I really wanted the white Wii U to have a lot of memory or at least have both types in both colours. I want my Wii U to match my Wii 🙁

  • Macarony64

I have a problem im poor i dont own a tv whit hdmi

    • alienlifeufo7

Hey there. I have the same problem, too. I’ve heard there’s HDMI to analogue cable converters available for a cheap price, so maybe you should consider getting one 😀

    • NeoPancho

Aside from HDMI it uses the same video cable than Wii, so if you already have a Wii you can use the same cable with the Wii U… if it isn’t the case you just have to buy a video cable (RCA, S-Video, Component, RGB) for Wii and it will work. It shouldn’t be too expensive.

      • uribemaster

It does? where did you hear from this?

        • NeoPancho

Yes 100% sure, just check the oficial nintendo website, look at the Wii U section and see the tech spec, at the Video Output and Audio Output sections you can read it.

  • blazenusop

So, the Wii U doesn’t have regular VGA cables?

    • austin

I think you’ll be able to use the VGA cables from the Wii.

    • Colton

Because this is the year 2012.

  • Joey

Anybody know ANY websites I can get this imported overseas from? (From the USA / Canada to Australia – I only buy NSTC systems). I badly want this during launch week / launch fortnight!!

    • Macarony64

      Yes is called amazon

  • blazenusop

    *RCA cables?

  • Nintendork28

I preordered the Deluxe set at GameStop a few hours ago and now I gotta play the waiting game 😛 😀

    • Macarony64

While you pplay that il be playing profesor layton and code of princes

  • Diego

Looks interesting the system, but one a question. It is a good idea charging the gamepad to one of the USB ports, instead of another AC adapter?. With this, the price of the console will be a little cheaper, maybe.

    Sorry for my bad english.

    • Macarony64

I think is great idea to charge the pad separate so if you want to pplay on your room you just have to take the pad and the cable

      • EvanescentHero

Plus the GamePad may require more power than a USB port can give it to properly charge, hence the AC adapter.

    • “SONY LOVER BOY” Sucks

      1: PS4 hasn’t even been announced. Dumbass…

2: PSVita won’t be bundled with the PS4. That’s like having the 3DS bundled with WiiU. You basically said that Sony are idiots because they bundle 2 consoles together because they can’t make enough money. Dumbass…

3: Metal gear solid 5 has been announced, but no console is confirmed, no type of gameplay is confirmed, no release date is confirmed, no story is confirmed. Dumbass…

4: Same as before. Uncharted 4 has been announced, but no console is confirmed, no type of gameplay is confirmed, no release date is confirmed, no story is confirmed. Dumbass…

5: Geeks? Tell me what does the word “Geek” mean? Dumbass…

6: It’s okay, I feel for you. I’d be pissed of too if my mom sucked nintendo land’s dick every night.

7: Oh, and it’s not my fault your parents play just dance 4 naked in the living room. Sperm all over the ground is annoying huh?

Oh and, why the FUCK would you come to a nintendo website EVERY DAY to hate. JUST SHOWS YOU HAVE NO FUCKING LIFE!

      • Kahhhhyle

If we ignore him he’ll get bored and go away haha. Don’t feed the trolls bro I know it’s hard but we gotta resist the urge.

      • LogicalDude

Obvious troll is obvious. No one leads off with PaRappa The Rapper as a plus. No sense in getting upset over fake posters.

    • ei8bitNinty

SONY fanboy! oh wait, i heard they’re copying the Gamepad! Yeah right!

    • Adam Fox

I’d rather have a Wii U than any garbage Sony puts out……the Vita is SHIT…I had one…hated it….the game library consists of crap ports from PS3 and are scaled down, too many “mobile games” (Asphalt, Plants Vs Zombies, Dungeon Hunter) and apps from smartphones….hmmm…would I rather pay $9.99 (or less) for Dungeon Hunter for iPad on a 9.7″ screen or $40 for the game on the Vita…oh yea, the same game is on PSN for PS3 at the price of $12.99…Vita may be cheaper than an iPad and other tablets on the up front cost..but add the cost of 16GB like my iPad has, almost double the screen size and then the over-priced mobile games….oh yea….the price of Vita games are dropping as well…WHY!? Oh, the Vita is a piece of junk…..people may make fun of Nintendo for having “kiddie” games….the DS outsold PSP 2 to 1….3DS outsold the Vita in first week sales (can’t compare total lifespan sales since the 3DS almost a year before the Vita)…the Wii outsold both the Xbox360 and the PS3…and in Japan, the Wii outsold the PS3 and Xbox360 combined……Nintendo has been making game systems since 1983 (Famicom in Japan, NES was released in 1985 in USA)…..Outlasting Atari, Sega, and Sony in the Game Console market….hmm…keep your PoS3 and your PosVita….

    • AO1JMM

We also will play Blops 2, Battlefield 4, Assassins Creed 3, Arkham City Armored Edition, the list goes on.

People LCD HD TVs dont cost that much anymore! I got a 47 inch vizio a year ago for 640.00 bucks brand new its probably less now and that’s a pretty big tv. Stop whining about not having one online, i feel like nintendo’s gonna back out of going hd reading these blogs. I’ve waited too long for this don’t jinx it! It’s bad enough the world is supposedly supposed to end this year. That would mean no Wii u zelda for anyone. NOOOOOOOOOO! 🙁

    • Elite

Actually got a laugh and yes i will love my just dance too!!!

  • GionathanVe

OMG… sensor bar again? i think they need make a new sensor bar for real…i forget about that item… i think the sensor bar in this new wii u was inside the console… :'( i dont see a hardcore console with that sensor bar for real… i hope they change that sensor bar and make another with a better a look…

    • Paul

sensor bar is for the old wii games

      • EvanescentHero

Plus the GamePad has a sensor bar on it so you can play Wii games directly on the controller.

Alright and that will be, $1500… AND MAKE ME A SANDWICH YOU DIRTY HOE!

  • Kev

I’m getting the basic version for one reason and one reason only: I want the white Wii U. I have an hdd laying around so less storage space shouldn’t be a poblem, but I do wish the basic version came with a cradle and stand at least. The deluxe version is way better bang for your buck.

    • rip

I did the same thing Nintendo really thought about this one suckered me in good. But if i have to spend a lil more money oh well.

  • Ryudo

@Macarony64 You can just use regular Wii AV cables or Wii Component Cables. It was confirmed on Engadget

    • Macarony64

The touchpad doesnt charge on Wii U,, only AC,, sure u have at least 1 power outlet behind ur couch,,, charging it on Wii U will be akward,,,

It’s an American project only endorsed by Nintendo Japan.

  • wiiU gaming PLUS

    hahahahahahahahha HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHA hehehehehehehe

the psvita isnt designed to operate lag free as part of a console and its not designed to be part of the graphics of the tv screen in the way wiiu gamepad is also its proven to be very bvery laggy when comunicating with the ps3 console and the multi touch screen would lag so much it would be totally un playable and psvita bundled with a console would bankrupt near bankrupt now sony in a matter of weeks

also gloabally psvita has sold 2.2 million vs 3DS 20 million sony are irelivent to gaming in case you didnt notice

  • Paul

the wii sensor bar dosent come included with the eu / uk version of the standard white console

nintendo said that on the eu stream video

ill be getting the white basic model along with the pro controller if uk retail prices are under £250 but wont be preordering till 18th october

  • Grodus

    The Wii U is cool.
I can not wait to get it.
    I’m getting deluxe

    • DragonChi

      Nice Haiku there. 🙂

  • Ash

Will it have any support for people without an HD tv? I have one but I know there are some people that have tvs that don’t have an hdmi port…thing. Is there an adapter or something that will come out later on?

    • Draco Breach

      I suspect either:

      a) it has the same multiout as the Wii, or
      b) an analog cable will be available for less than $20 at launch.

  • Anon

1)I think that they got the price wrong.
2)I especially think they got the bundling wrong.

    1) I think the price should have been 250, and 300.
Think about it. If buy one more game and the premium pack you
will be spending about 450 after taxes. I don’t have that kind of money.
    I don’t want Nintendo land!

2)The black should have been the cheap model w/o game and the white
should have been w/ game. The pack in game is what got all those moms and older people playing. The extra memory and stands don’t interest me.
I am going to plug in an external HDD as soon as I get it home. That dumb white thing going to stand out like a sore thumb next to my DVD player and stereo.

    • rip

It looks like Nintendo is listening to its fans and will offer it right before launch. I got the basic and will buy the accessories in white. Nintendo did this on purpose to make more of a bigger profit

  • mc7791

I wonder that too Ash. My current TV is analog and I cant spend thousands of dollars on an HDTV right now. It does not show the cables for analog tv. That worries me.

    • SteampunkJedi

I think you can buy a monitor (not a really big one, but they make good sized gaming monitors) for a lot less than a full-blown TV. And knowing Nintendo, I’m sure they’ll have an adapter sometime soon at least if you can’t get a monitor.

    • SteampunkJedi

And I think, unless Nintendo’s changed it, that there is a video out port just like the Wii’s.

    • Draco Breach

You can get a nice 32′ television for less than $400 easy. If you want a bigger television, I can point you to Amazon where I got a Samsung 46′ for less than a grand – LED backlit LCD. If you want 3D, expect to spend an extra $300 – give or take.

If you still don’t want to buy a new television, I expect analog cables available either in the package or sold at launch for $20 or less, or, as @SteampunkJedi mentioned, the multiout will be the same.

  • SteampunkJedi

You would save $10 if you buy the Deluxe and want Nintendo Land (which I do), and you also get stands and more memory. And it’s black. It wouldn’t match my Wiimotes, but I definitely want the Deluxe one.

    • Draco Breach

My main Wii Remote is the Skyward Sword edition gold, so no problems matching for me :p

My entertainment center is a mix of white, black, silver, and wood-panel anyway, so I didn’t really care which color I got. I might get a white Pro Controller, however.

Ps4 gona be 4 times. more strong than Wii u,with 4gig of RAM to make u fruit cakes Wii in your pants while wagging your Wii mote,Wii u is current gen, ps4 gona be 9th gen released in 8th gen ,assassins creed 3 looks better on my ps3,Nintendo gona be the new sega, can’t wait to see Mario looking hi. best on ps4,for the 1st time I’m gona be able to see the individual hairs on his mustache on Ps4. last Good Nintendo console was snes, until ps1 became the new snes

    • EvanescentHero

I feel sorry for you and your crushing disappointment when the PS4 isn’t anywhere near the powerhouse you need it to be in order to make you feel good about yourself. The thing about Sony and Microsoft’s new consoles is that they set the bar way too high this generation and there’s no possible way they’ll be able to match that level of graphical progress in the next. The Wii U may be a bit behind once more, but the 720 and PS4 won’t be that far ahead. They can’t afford to make consoles that strong, especially not Sony. I predict Microsoft will have the most powerful console next generation, followed by Sony, and then Nintendo. We’ll see how the generation after that one plays out if Sony manages not to bankrupt themselves.

Also, you’re high or in denial if you think ACIII looks better on the PS3. Everyone knows it looks better on the Wii U. I’m sorry you can’t accept that.

And if Nintendo ever goes out of the hardware business, they’ll be out of the software business too. Sorry, but you’re never seeing Mario on the PS4. Guess you’ll just have to buy a Wii U if you want to play Mario in HD.

Here we see the rare selficus denialus in its unnatural environment.

Unable to bear facts, it hiccoughs random fanboy wet dreams whenever facts contradict its desired reality.

While in its presence, please avoid using phrases like, “Ubisoft gloats about how superior the Wii U version of Assassin’s Creed looks and plays when compared to current generation systems, like the 360 and PS3.” It becomes violently enraged and randomly hiccoughs its own desired reality nonstop until one cannot bear it any more and walks away. At which point, it gloats at its superior argument and ability.

Please also avoid telling the selficus denialus that Gearbox, creators of Borderlands, are jumping up and down and begging publisher Take-Two Interactive to authorize a “funner and better looking” version on the Wii U.

Please also avoid mentioning that Square Enix has hinted a willingness to drop the PS3 version of the next numbered Final Fantasy in favor of making it exclusive to the Wii U.

We, after all, do not wish to see the selficus denialus cause harm to itself in a frothing rage.

[This has been a public service announcement.]

Well-done! I thought I had it covered but you really blew me out of the water in terms of pwnage. *applauds gracefully*

      • Donnaclus

Final Fantasy likely going back Nintendo?

        *Tears of joy*

    • Elite

Sounds like the specs my old pc had.

  • SilentBates

the deluxe is the best offer so what if its fifty bucks more! START MOWING LAWNS!!!

  • Draco Breach

I got the Wii U Deluxe Set in the bank.

I won’t be using the included console stand or HDMI cable. I have a nice Pipeline HDMI cable I’d far rather use – silver-clad, solid copper core.

I’m not exactly sure why it comes with a Wii Sensor Bar unless they are expecting people to trade in their Wii systems. I won’t be. I keep what I like, and I like the Wii. I’d prefer a Wii Sensor Bar splitter, so I can plug one bar into both consoles.

(So I can play GameCube games with an HDMI cable. Love my Wii2HDMI adapter :p )

    • EvanescentHero

Wii to HDMI? Where did you get one of those? =O Do want!

Anyway, I’m sure many people will trade in their Wiis. GameStop will probably even offer a deal on that, like they do with all the models of the DS. I personally won’t, because I have a modded Wii, and that way I can keep playing GameCube games, PLUS when Nintendo comes out with their NEXT console (I’m preemptively naming it the Thrii) and it’s backwards compatible with Wii U, I can buy that and then have a console that plays Thrii and Wii U games, as well as a console that plays Wii and GameCube games. I sure love me some Nintendo!

      • Draco Breach

Wii2HDMI adapters are available on Amazon for about $40-ish US. I got one of the more expensive ones because reviews favored it – $36 US. They claim to upscale to 720p or 1080p, but it doesn’t help all that much. I’ll admit it looks clearer on my large-screen HDTV, but that may be the benefit of moving from analog to digital.

GameStop is indeed offering a trade in deal for Wii to Wii U. They are offering $50 US for anybody and $60 US for Rewards+ members. They also have some bundle offers – Wii U Deluxe Set with two games and accessories for about $510 US. I didn’t particularly care for any of the chosen combinations.

The games I will probably preorder are ZombiU and Scribblenauts. The jury’s still out on The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, and New Super Mario Bros U. I definitely want them; I just don’t know when. I’ll download the demos for Assassin’s Creed 3 and Batman Arkham City Armored Edition before committing to them. Aliens Colonial Marines and Bayanetta 2 are on similar ground.

If Take-Two Interactive listens to Gearbox, Borderlands 2 will find a home on my Wii U. I’m still undecided about Mass Effect 3. I like the Wii U control scheme best of anything out there, but I have it on PC – with 1 and 2. I want more Bioware titles on the Wii U, so it’s one of those situations.

Wait… Me thinks Nintendo just took stock in my wallet…

        • EvanescentHero

Thanks! I may get one when I upgrade my TV, or I may not. I honestly think some of the most gorgeous games have been on Wii, even without requiring cleanup. (Skyward Sword.)

Yeah, I saw the bundles and they’re not that interesting. I’ll probably only have the money for one extra game, especially if I get a Pro controller, and I’m almost definitely going to make that ZombiU. But when ACIII comes out, I will buy it. Not that interested in Batman or Aliens right now, but we’ll see. I’m sure I’ll pick up NSMBU at some point, since it was fun. Haven’t played Borderlands or any Mass Effect; I may pick those up on Steam instead because I really can’t use two sticks to control an FPS very well.

Really I’m just waiting for Zelda and Smash Bros. though…

I have 2 things to say

  • Madmagican

Heh, the sensor bar looks the same. Anyway, I really hope I can gather up enough money to buy the Deluxe pack since it’s a much better deal, all things considered, and….lost my train of thought… o_O

  • ed

does anyone know if some kind of HDMI to video thing exists

  • ed

does anyone know if some kind of HDMI to rca thing exists. sorry for the mistake

  • Draco Breach

Check “HDMI to composite” on Amazon.

It requires an adapter not a cable. If it looks like a box with no cables, you probably found the right item. Look at reviews an aim for at least 4-stars. There are some decent adapters for around $40 US.

However, I recommend just waiting to make sure the Wii U has the same multiout as the Wii. Then you can get a Wii composite cable for less than $20 US – half the price.

    • Draco Breach

      I thought I hit reply under @ed.

Anyway @ed, dude. This is my reply to you.

  • elbossmx

Does anyone knows if the Wii U will come with standard video cables? I mean the yellow, red, white.
Or will you necesarily have to own a HD TV to play the Wii U?
I want the Wii U for this christmas but I won’t be able to play it on my TV, and buying the Wii U and a HD TV is way out of my budget.
No white deluxe Wii U and I have to buy a new TV? Nice way to screw up, Nintendo.

    • Draco Breach

While it appears the Wii U will not come prepackaged with composite cables, Nintendo has confirmed the presence of a multiout port. Most suspect it is the same multiout present on the Wii, so you shouldn’t have to purchase any new cables.

There is no need to buy a new television unless you want to. If you do have to purchase a multiout composite cable, I know most retailers have them for less than $20 US.

  • wii u fan forever

Can someone help? If all the deluxe sets are sold-out, then there will be none at launch day? I really want Nintendo Land, accessiries, and black version. But i cant pre order. Can someone verify please?

    • Morley94

I know the Deluxe Edition is sold out everywhere, but I know of one place you can still get it. At they have a special Wii U bundle for $450. That includes the Deluxe Wii (or Basic Wii, in which case the bundle drops to $400), a game of your choice, and either a Wii Remote Plus or a Wii U Pro Controller. It’s a pretty good deal, but you better hurry as I’m sure they will run out soon. Hopefully you make it in time. Good luck!

Thanks To You Guys I Now Many Valid Points To Get The Deluxe….And I Just Checked My TV For A HDMI Port….And I Have It 🙂

  • Kirbymon123

what are the AC adapters for? The wii u one i guess is for plugging it in, and the gamepad one is for charging it? Also, where are the red, yellow, and white cables (video/audio)? Does the HDMI replace that?

    • Dan7el(WiiU day one purchase)

I was wondering the same thing about the gamepad ac adapter. Is this for charging plus display certain special images on it or something(like using it as a TV to play Metroid Prime 3 or something.)Hmmmm problably just for charging.

    • elbossmx

I think the Gamepad AC adapter is just for charging since it seems to plug to the wall directly.
Also, according to the Nintendo webpage, the Wii U will be compatible with the Wii cables. That means that people like me that don’t have an HD TV will be able to take the AV cable from our Wii and plug it to the Wii U =D

  • Fuzunga

I’ve been wondering, what if you don’t have an HDMI compatible TV? I do, but are those people going to have to buy another AV cable?

    • elbossmx

It looks like you can use your Wii AV cable. At least that’s what it says on the Nintendo page.

  • chk

    hell yay !!!!!!!!!!

  • Nano

I pre order my deluxe From toys r us wooooooo hooooooo

  • jonzrc

my tv don’t have hdmi u.u

This message is for everybody who lacks an HDTV.

Nintendo has confirmed the presence of a multiout adapter. This means A/V cables will be available.

It is common speculation that the Wii U has the same multiout as the Wii. However, A/V cables typically cost less than $20 US at retailers.

The Wii U is an HD video game device, but they are not forgetting the remaining saturation of SD televisions on the market.

There is a multiout adapter on every Wii U unit for standard definition and enhanced definition analog out!

    • xarret

thats good cause i dont have a hd tv. a good hd tv will be my second purchase first comes the wii u.

  • Dan

There seems to not be many people who are still going for the basic. I still dont see the incentive to get the deluxe. Im going to love my white console just the same. Save me an extra 50 to put towards zombieu and super mario
