Wii U Hardware
GamesRadar got their hands on a Wii U prototype console at E3, and decided to do a quick video showing off the console and the Wii U GamePad controller. Of course, this being pre-production Wii U hardware, it’s not exactly pretty and there are a few things that don’t seem to fit or belong there, but that’s always always the case in these situations. One thing we noticed, and which the video points out, is that the length of the Wii U. It’s considerably longer than current generation game consoles, it appears, and it’s about twice as long as the original Wii console.

Check out the video below:

She seems So cute to me !!!
Seriously an item to cop’ …
Beautiful just Like the 3ds !!!
    Really Nintendo as Always …

  • Joe

I thought the picture was the video, lol. Anyways the wii u looks great 🙂

    • juan

      me too!

      • Vexion

        x 3 ! XD

        • Ninty fan

Wow, *make that four* yeah, you guys are not smart…. *guilty*

  • Alienfish

They said 50% longer, not twice as long. If Wii is 8” long then WiiU would be 12”. Sounds like about as long as the PS3 is wide and not nearly as fat or tall so I think I’m liking the form factor here.

    • Smurfman256

The Wii U is actually 10.5 inches long and the Wii is 7.375 inches. If the leaked dev kit specs are true (and they have gained a LOT more credibility due tho the same website posting the pohotos of the Alpha dev kti), thwn this thing is about half as powerful as the final version or 2-3X more powerful than the Xbox 360.

  • AwayToHit

    Sexy console is sexy 🙂

  • Buzzeh

wonder what the final product will look like

  • Dan

Who says the Wii U is not exactly pretty, its the same looks as the Wii except its bigger just alittle bit changes and nothing wrong with that, and i really like it alot and happy with it, looking forward to getting one 🙂

  • Wii Uoops!

Thumbs up if you kept on clicking the picture wondering why the video wouldn’t work.

    • Wii Uoops!

Didn’t think anybody would actually rate that comment so high!

  • Whoa Nelly

    No analog triggers :'(

    • Kyle

      Umm… it has clickable analogs…

      • Abdulink

Dumbfuck you guys dont even know what analog triggers are retards. Analog triggers means pressure sensitive shoulder buttons.

    • Jesus

Analog Triggers? Don’t you mean pressing the sticks? If so it’s possible 😀

    • aaron

      yes there is!

      • Abdulink

Where? Do you guys even know what analog triggers are?

  • Jake

How do you watch the video? It’s very confusing and slightly misleading to put a PLAY button on the image which always re-directs you to the same page. Please clarify and clearly indicate where videos are.

  • swic11

UGHGH, its killing me that we still dont have a release date. Does anyone think that Nintendo knows? Actual detailed specs would be great to know as well, but we wont know those until the Wii U comes out. Its killing me

    • uPadWatcher

‘Tis a season to be jolly, my friend. The Wii U will be coming to town this Holiday season worldwide. Let’s hope it’s before Black Friday.

  • markw1982

im happy it has a sensor bar plug i want a wii u for new games but my mum likes playing wii sports and cant play games properly as she has a stroke and can only play one handed so will be nice to know she can still play her wii games on the wii u

  • joe

As far as buttons and triggers go. I’d be happier with 3 buttons, a pause button and a home button. That’s it. No need for anything else. God, I am so old skool.

    • Neonridr

you sound like a Sega Genesis child with that 3 button crap.. It’s either 2 or 4, none of this odd numbered stuff.. 😛

  • Jerm1234

They should add 2 more USB ports and they need to increase the internal memory whether it makes the console look bigger or not, but if it does that would be okay because that means more ports for charging and other purposes.

    • Jimmy

If you want more storage, then get an external HDD. Some people don’t need it, so that would just needlessly increase costs.

      • Ricardo

What are the USB ports used for other than storage? That’s all I can think of…

    • Neonridr

I have a 500 GB external HD just lying around, so that will beat whatever they plan on having inside the system. I would say somewhere in the ballpark of 10GB just so you have enough for the OS and some apps that you can download for it. Anything game related can be saved on the external HD instead. Although I wonder if that will cause any delay issues while playing any games of an external HD rather than internal..

  • Jacob

    kinect add lol 😀

  • Chris

Oh! Look at that console, she is sexy!

  • WhiteConnectors

What are those two white connectors on the back the guy in the video doesn’t talk about?

    • Pretzels

It’s just the prototype dude. Did you read the description?

  • The Baconater

Who cares if the Wii U is designed near the same as wii… my wii was like bullet proof, lol little exaggerated.

    • Chris

… this is a job for THE MYTHBUSTERS!! DUN DUNANA!

  • Pretzels

Seems weird when it’s really long. It’s different for Nintendo to make a larger console. We are used to things being small and squareish.

  • Ed

Maybe I’m a dipshit but how the fuck do you get the video to work?

  • Slipsevenfold

I thought the picture was the video…

Now these days everyone is copying each other on the models, there not coming up with any brand new models that literally make us go,’ Wow!’

  • mac

… the video isnt working now i didnt get a chance to see it lol let me try on internet explorer

    • mac

      lol nvm didnt work
