Wii U dockThe Wii U dock is a docking station for the Wii U GamePad controller. The Wii U controller dock is a simple plastic device that connects to the Wii U console via a USB cable. The GamePad controller can rest on the dock and be recharged. The dock is expected to be included as part of the Wii U console and controller package, and won’t be sold separately. However, third party accessory makers have already announced their own Wii U dock designs. The Wii U controller dock has so far only been revealed in a patent application by Nintendo. More images and official photos will be released at a later date.

Wii U dock design

The Wii U dock features a simple construction designed to hold and charge the tablet controller. The controller dock isn’t required for recharging to happen, but it uses the same USB cable that’s bundled with the console.

Soo… basically it’s just there to look pretty?

no its there to have a place to put your controller so it doesn’t get damaged and for it to charge. it’s better than having the gamepad laying around pretty much begging to be knocked off of something
