Wii U Daily, the leading Wii U news site in the world, has surpassed 3,000 news posts and articles during E3 2014. We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings in 2011, where we started to cover the just-announced Wii U from Nintendo.

Wii U Daily has been growing steadily over the past three years, thanks to our readers and their great support. I’m proud that the little site that I started many years ago has now grown into a respected publication with an amazingly talented team of writers and editors.

Almost 300,000 comments have been posted on Wii U Daily as well since we started, and that’s all thanks to you guys! Just for the fun of it, check out the very first news post we made.

Be sure to follow us on Twitter and like us on Facebook for all the latest and greatest Wii U news and updates.

From all of us here at Wii U Daily, we’d like to thank our readers and supporters over the years. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Congrats on 3,000 posts. Happy gaming.

  • jjbredesen

Congrats guys! actually a bit funny because I just passed 3000 comments, you guys sure have grown a lot, and the site has become one of the sites i visit the most.

Keep up the good work, and thanks for a great 3 years, looking forward to the future 😀

  • Wooopigsooie

Haha, one of the posts on the original article linked states “I wonder what will happen when the Wii U comes out. The site will probably shut down or something.” Boy were they wrong! Thanks so much for all the work and consistent professional reporting you guys do around the clock. It’s much appreciated!

  • “Wii U Daily, the leading Wii U news site in the world…”

    • jjbredesen

In terms of readers they actually are, google any Wii U news, and WUD will be one of the first sites to show up.

      • Certainly not true.

I have nothing against the Wii U or Nintendo, but the notion that WUD is the leading Wii U news site in the world, when the majority of articles are reported from somewhere else first, is just amusing.

        • jjbredesen

Yeah, they are slow on reporting news, but they still have more readers than a lot of sites that are only for Wii U, there are other sites for Nintendo News and gaming news in general such as IGN, but this as a pure Wii U site, has the most viewers.

Of course IGN and other major sites are way bigger, but they focus on everything in the gaming universe and beyond.

Not sure if calling them the leading site is right, but one of the largest would be a better thing to say.

        • greengecko007

Agreed. There’s nothing wrong with lifting news from elsewhere, or even being a bit slower at reporting it, as circulation is the primary concern of news, but it certainly exempts this site from being the “leading” site.

    • rp17

It may not be the best, but it is definitely the largest. If you google Wii U you will get Nintendo.com, Wikipedia, Amazon, Gamestop, then WiiUDaily. It’s almost always in the top five results, and it is the only news site. (It’s a little lower now due to Nintendo’s E3 site.)

      • Jon

you get that because the URL has Wii U in the name and it is in the first line of the site description. It is just like how if I search “Nintendo” I get all the main Nintendo sites (plus Wikipedia) and then I get Nintendolife.com

        • rp17

Fair enough. But for the record Nintendolife was more like halfway down on the second page 😛 (Nintendolife is my favorite by the way)

          • Jon

well, the first page is all the official Nintendo sites and channels…. it even spills on to the second page so that makes sense.

    • palomino blue

      Well, you’re here aren’t you?

      • How does me being here correlate to WUD being a leading site for Wii U news?

  • Grats on keeping it up so long, first time I came here was August 2011/2012 I honestly forgot but probably was August 2012. Non the less keep up the good work Wii U daily, although sometimes you guys/girls are a little late, but to me it’s my no1 source for WiiU news, coming here multiple times a day, and not without good reason.

Thank you. John Kinsley for the nice words.

Congrats… now why don’t you make more and make posts on the rest of E3… which you missed quite a bit of content.

    • Tecpedz94

Its true i still come onto this page but usually look at mynintendonews and sometimes nintendolife they cover everything usually wiiudaily covers the MAIN important stuff and not the little stuff which are still interesting.

  • Jayden

Thanks Wii U Daily for updating us with the latest Wii U news and other Nintendo news. I think I came to this website somewhere in 2012, definetly before the Wii U was released. It’s funny, but I thought this website would end once the Wii U was released in stores.

  • Lusunup

Wow 2011? I thought it started around ealey 2012 that’s when I arrived either way congratulations wiiudaily!

    • rp17

2011… the good old days of Knowledgeiswhatsup and no Disqus… 😛

      • jjbredesen

Ah Knowledgeiswhatsup what fantastic community contributor xD

        • andrewjcole

          The old Donaald?

          • jjbredesen

            The old Truthteller

        • iamserious

Thought that was you or that other guy I forgot his name tho.

          • jjbredesen

Think you are thinking about Daniel Gonzales, but no i was not Knowledgeiswhatsup i only made a parody account on one article, to see how the community reacted to certain statements etc. i took a comment i made and posted it as truthteller to see how people reacted, and it was actually really funny, but the account was not banned or anything

          • iamserious

Oh ok haha I c. Ya Daniel Gonzales was the other guy I thought was knowledgeiswhatsup. I thought truthteller was also the same person. Lol

          • jjbredesen

Truthteller and knowledgeiswhatsup are the same person and is the most famous troll on this site, but has left the site, i have been keeping an eye on his account though.

Always caused chaos on every article.

  • steveb944

Glad you’re still around. It fit for me with the larger company that owns you because I follow tech news as well.

  • bistricky

When I added a Wii U to my home (back in November 2013), this was the first Wii U website that I checked out …. and still stands today as the key Wii U website for me and my family.
Congrats on reaching 3,000 news posts and may the next 3,000 news post for Wii U Daily be reached even faster ….. lots of great Wii U news to be reported. Cheers 😀

  • Michael Rowlands

its all down to this site saying want wii u fanboys saying want they what to hear

  • LevenThumps

Congratulations WiiU Daily. This is the my main WiiU news site, and I guess that’s true for other people as well.

  • Rinslowe

Firstly congrats to all the writers at Wii U Daily. Solid effort. Not only has Wii U Daily been an interesting place to get news for the platform but the community is equally interesting. Many people including myself seem intent on posting pretty much daily. I guess we post here at home, at work and on the go. So that’s a real achievement of the site to foster such an environment.
But ah, “leading”… No sorry John. In terms of news content. That would be a false statement. In terms of John being a founder. Ok statement of fact. But I for one would be happier if John Kinsley stuck to being a background player cause dude, your articles are bloody nonsense man. 99% of the time.

(I don’t care if that’s not entirely in good taste. It’s the flippin truth).

Also like others have said, the E3 coverage has been ok but a little lax’d….

    • jjbredesen

The community is the reason this site is great in my opinion, use sites such as mynintendonews.com for my news updates, and this site do discuss the news when it eventually comes.

      • Officer Raichu

        sasorri mii ruins that site

  • Mark

  • truMADDness

  • Ducked

#1 Wii U news site in the world? Wow didn’t know that.

  • iamserious

One of the comments posted on the first Wii U Daily article:

“Its been a long time. I wander what happens after the Wii U comes out. The site will probabbly shut down or something, i dunno.”

Three years later this site still hasn’t shut down and is still going at it hard! I’m happy to be part of the WiiUDaily community! Kinsley started this whole thing eh? Who`da thunk it?
