During the Nintendo Direct for Japan a few weeks ago, Nintendo announced a new bundle for the region. This bundle includes a white premium edition Wii U, a Wiimote Plus controller, sensor bar, and the current Wii Sports Club titles pre-installed. At the time, no release date or price was given for the bundle, but an update today has shown that the bundle will retail for 30,000 yen ($292 USD) and the bundle will be released on March 27th.

There’s no information on whether this bundle will be made available outside of Japan, but it’s possible considering Wii Sports Club are the bundled games. If this bundle does gain traction outside of Japan, it might be the bundle Nintendo needs to re-attract the casual crowd that originally purchased the Wii for the Wii Sports included title.

Pretty cool bundle, it is obvious they are trying to recreate the Wii with this one. Relying on the past success of the Wii will not work.

Will not work now but could work when the Wii U debuted back on 2012. Just hope it comes to USA and if their was enough marketing, this could sell well much like the wii did back on 2006-2010.

    Like it.

Nintendo is launching a bundle for everything these days …

  • Ducked

Great way for everyone to think the Wii U is a Wii. idiot move nintendo

    • audi lover

I think most Japanese know the difference between wii and wii u its just stupid westerners that don’t have a clue

      • Ducked

        Well that is true…

        • triplegamer3K .

A majority of us are quite stupid, indeed. But The marketing is really sad.they’ve got the products. Now advertise them.

          • Ducked

I agree, Nintendo has done a poor job marketing it. Most of the casual people still think the Wii U is just a tablet controller to the Wii. Now that they have Super Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze, and Pikmin 3 to prove it, they need to push it

      • David Trail

The idiot COD and Fifa crowd lmao!

  • That guy who hates Spike

Nintendo, just kill your Wii series. It’s confusing the market.

  • Justin Carlson

I think Nintendo should start bundling their bundles. Now that would be a good value! 😀

  • Sam

Why would you buy it? It only has three sports.

Quite a spooky box set and a strange move to make. I would hope its built into the memory already and not on disc, which would improve things a little. Why not throw in Wii Fit U as well though, make it the ‘Wii U Super Active Pack’.

I have to say, I tried Golf the other day and I was shocked at how poor the graphics are. I absoltely love my WiiU, and games like Super Mario world and Pikmin show what its capable of. So why they seemingly didnt put any effort into the textures and graphics is beyond me.

On top of that, the club on the gamepad was actually super cool, and worked really nice, just once. The second shot I had to take, it wouldnt line up with the WiiMote anymore. forcing me to adjust its angle on the floor and ‘find’ where it was supposed to be. if this is supposed to be like playing real golf, I can only imagine its some kind of ‘Heavily Drunk Golf’.

I am only moaning because I am bitterly disappointed, I was looking forward to Golf ever since I saw the early vids of the WiiU controller (many many years ago).

    • Michael Ocampo

you made me laugh at the heavily drunk golf! XD

  • ETeach

I assume this means we won’t be seeing boxing or Baseball 🙁

  • Michael Ocampo

Hopefully they make it so that the other two sports are free with this bundle once they come out to complete the Wii Sports Club Experience. (At least part 1 if they make more parts ;P)

  • David Trail

Any sign of a disc one with all the games yet?

I want it but don’t want that to happen to me lol!

  • David Trail

Give these games away free Nintendo. That would be thinking smarter than the competition!

  • Andrew W Garttmeyer

They are still failing with the online bowling! They need to allow ALL of your friends at your home to play AS A TEAM against other people in their living rooms. Who in the hell wants to play bowling BY THEMSELVES in the living room against other people BY THEMSELVES in their living room. COME ONE NES WAKE THE F UP.

EDIT: Make tournaments, it could be so much more, lazy is lazy.

Been thinking of getting a second Wii U for my kid, this one would be perfect.
