Nintendo UK took to its Twitter account this morning to announce that Wii Fit U will be delayed by a week in Europe. The game was originally supposed to launch December 6th, but now it will launch on December 13th. Keep in mind this is for the retail release of the game, which will include the Wii Fit U balance board and the Wii Fit meter.

If you still haven’t given Wii Fit U a try, you can download it from the Nintendo eShop and try it free for 30 days. If you like it, you can purchase the Wii Fit meter and activate it with the game, giving you the game for free if you already own a balance board.

but the wii fit meter will still come december 6 right?..
oh yeah tomorrow new NINTENDO DIRECT

  • Mario

    One week? Meh.

  • Nuno

    No biggie.

  • Wonder why…

    • BIG Franky

I am guessing at this stage it is a logistics issue…. maybe a problem with the physical production of discs or the balance board or something? to be honest, it wouldn’t shock me if they are behind on production runs for the Fit Meter (that will be packaged with the Balance Board Bundle and the physical game itself)…. as they are impossible to find stateside. (all of the retail outlets in my area are sold out of them)…

      • True. they could’ve wanted more time to make more, seeing how they might sell out a lot

  • Petri

    Still in time for Christmas.
I haven’t been able to try it out enough yet, and soon have to buy that meter.
Did the offer have any expiration date?

    • I dont think so…

    • Michael DeVore

Yes, February. The free trial will vanish from the eShop and be replaced with the pay version. I’m not sure if you can still register a fit meter after the 30 days trail ether.

  • Sonic the Hedgehog

Well, my game was delayed a week as well, but it is selling just fine. So no prob.

    • Shota

well yeah , everyone loves you!

    • DarkLegacy

I’ve played your game. And I have to say, it’s cool

  • 7Down

AC4’s pissed me off big time, few more days, just a few more.

  • palomino blue

I’m thinking this game won’t take off until after Jan 1 when everyone starts New Year’s Resolutions. NA will already be done with the trial period so this might work better for the UK.

  • Jason

It’s okay Nintendo, you can delay Wii Fit U a few years, we just want Zelda Wii U.

  • bizzy gie

It’s not too far of a delay, but definitely a nuisance.

  • Logic

Honestly, I don’t see the point in Wii Fit U at all. Why can’t you just go to your local gym to gain muscle or go take a jog around the neighborhood to lose weight? You can get fit anywhere. Can someone explain the true importance of this game?

    • Decker Shado

Well, one problem with the gym strategy is a – gym membership, and b – having to pay 1/2 years worth of gym membership up front. Also, where I live, there is no gym, so that’s out anyway.

Jogging is okay, and I do that myself, but I’d like a better way to keep track of how I’m doing than just checking how long it takes me to run a mile. I just got my balance board today and spent quite a while on Wii Fit U.. All the activities are very low intensity, but when I stopped just picking one here and one there and did a workout routine, I did actually break a sweat.

Also, I’m hoping the pet profiles will encourage my gf and her sister to walk the dog a lot more often, as she’s getting quite fat.

Yes, there’s lots Wii Fit U can’t do. But what it can do is pretty impressive all things considered.

    • Germany

Would you rather lose weight going around the block for a jog or paying a lot of money per month for a gym membership? Or would you rather lose weight paying a lot less money ($20 forever right now) and by making your exercise a fun game?

  • Rinslowe

An extension of the trial version should be adequate compensation.

Oh wait, only one week? Darn greedy impulses…

    • Germany

Wii fit meter = $20 = keep software you got for free after the trial is up
