Apr 29th, 2013

The official release date of Ubisoft’s Watch Dogs has been confirmed as November 19th, 2013 for all platforms. The release date was tweeted by Amazon’s Games Twitter account. This release date puts the game right in the middle of that holiday rush that we experience for games each year. With so many games coming out in such a short period, consumers have to be choosy about the games they play from October and November. Will you be getting this one? Let us know in the comments below and don’t forget to check out the trailer below if you’re undecided.

local_offer    Nintendo  ubisoft  Watch Dogs  wii u
  • If Watch Dogs delivers and the Uplay Exclusive Edition isn’t too expensive, then I’ll pick this game up.

  • I don’t know whether to get this on Wii U or get it on PS4 πŸ™

If the PS4 is delayed until 2014 for us in the UK then I’ll buy it for Wii U, but if the PS4 is released this year in some regions then I’ll buy it on PS4 or I could just buy the Wii U version for its Unique controls and the PS4 version for my dad or big brother

    • incoherent1

If you end up getting the PS4 version, I’d love it if you came back and did a comparison for us (if you can also find a Wii U copy to play for a couple of hours). Very intruiged to hear differences/similariities/etc.

      • That’s something that I might be able to do, depending on when PS4 is released. We’ll see.

        • bizzy gie

I think he was talking to Chris (i assume it’s because he found out that Chris already pre-ordered the PS4), but it’d be cool if you did one too. πŸ˜€

    • Genesect4ssb4

PS4 is likely released this year, but your choice bro.

    • The Clockwork Being

For me, I might be getting both versions but ill probably get the Wii U one for its controls

    • Zombie Boy

I’m having a similar problem – Do I buy the Wii U or PC version?

I’m thinking of getting it for both systems because I play my Wii U with friends, so it’ll be more of a social experience, but I’d also like to see how it looks on PC too (so I’ll probably go back and revisit it after completing it on the Wii U first).

    • aldo2410

In the PS4 you get better graphics, but in Wii U you get best gameplay

  • AAAkabob

    Woot Woot!

    I’ll preorder.

  • Nintedward

This is getting bought day 1.

  • DK_Hadouken

I’ll be keeping an eye on this game. But somethings tells me I’m going to end up buying it.

  • Jeffrey Debris

This will be a day one purchase for me on Wii U! πŸ˜€

  • Link Slayer

    totally getting this.

  • Nintendofreak

omg they can see ur porn im scarred

    • [000]

At first glance, I thought you were addressing the author and saying you were scarred by her porn for a second there, then I noticed that you meant “scared”, and it clicked in my mind that you were talking about the game. 0_o

  • Zombie_Andrew

Can’t wait for platform specific gameplay vids, not only to see some cool gamepad gameplay but to see if Ubisoft worked hard on making the game look good, yes if Citerion can do it, so can Ubisoft! I want PC textures and effects, even if it’s 720p and at 30 frames!
Yes I do care just as much about effort being put into graphics as well as the gameplay whe it comes to any game on any platform, and yes I do believe that the Wii U is capable of bringing us both if developers care enough not to just slap on code when porting!

    • As soon as it’s available, you’ll see it here. πŸ™‚

    • Waluigi Dogs

    • I believe the smart thing for ubisoft to do and will do I’m sure is put most effort on the ps4 version which they can do more with and possibly easier to develope

      • Zombie_Andrew

I honestly think the PS4 version will be almost the same as Wii U version but the graphical assets will be at native 1080p and possibly 60 frames. But a lot of the industry seems to be sticking to 30. Simpley put: the Wii U PS4 and 720 versions will all come from the PC version without too much optimisation (Need for speed took 10 mins to transfer the PC assets literary plonking on code – imagine what could be done with optimisation!)

EDIT: I apologise, PS3 PS4 version will get more content! πŸ™

  • Genesect4ssb4

    Can’t wait for this!!!

  • elbrody

I have it reserved since it was announced, now im just wondering if we’re gonna get the special editions and bonuses two or just the plain game like it has happend with other games for example injustice

  • Jamal Brown

    yep in gettin this

  • D.M.T

I hope the Wii U version is from the PC version and not the 360 version.

    • NkoSekirei

is should be cause the developer said that ps3 and 360 versions would be scaled down but not the wii u version cause it packs more power then the current gen consoles

    • uPadWatcher

It happened to Criterion Games’ NFS: Most Wanted U and Straight Right’s Mass Effect 3: Special Edition and Deus Ex: Human Revolution Director’s Cut… hell, Ubisoft could make it happen also.

    • Levi Johansen

I think they are all from the PC version.

  • Chiwawaboi

anyone know the rating on this?

    • bizzy gie

      M17+ for ESRB rating.

      Pegi 18 for Pegi rating.

      • Chiwawaboi

damn it. I was hoping it would be T. after I watched the vid, I realized it wouldnt be.

        • bizzy gie

How old are you? If you’re 15 or 16, then it shouldn’t matter too much unless you have strict parents.

          • Chiwawaboi

            15. and my parents arent that strict. But if it has any killing involved, its a no.

          • aldo2410

I played ZOMBIU in front of my father and he told me why I dont let my brother play with me (my brother is 10)

          • Chiwawaboi

no shit? awww bro, we gotta switch parents. :c

  • MΓΈhΓ₯mmΔ™d JΓ₯rmΓΈn

I preordered this in February πŸ™‚ I’m so excited

  • Johny

obviously getting this.. ubisoft is awesome

  • RyuNoHadouken

this game should be mint on Wii U…but I bet it looks life-like on PS4

    • Kevin Sepulveda

If you wanted life like game experience just go play it on the computer. PS4 is still low end gaming graphic power to what a a real good computer can do.

      • RyuNoHadouken

yeah, a computer with a $1000 graphics card, not to mention every thing else needed to run those beautiful graphics on a display for a human eye that cant detect half of it anyway…#noob

        • Kevin Sepulveda

Sorry I didnt know you could not afford a nice gaming computer. My computer seems to have everything it needs to run realistic gaming experiences…..#richboyproblems

No doubt GTA V will beat this game in world size and variety, vehicle options, and weapon variety. However, Watch_Dogs will beat this game in world quality (unlike GTA ALL the civilians have specific information on them and you can um… oh yeah HACK!), hand-to-hand combat, and mission objective (you’re not a cop (like in Sleeping Dogs) and you’re not a criminal (like in GTA)).

Looking forward to both and with GTA V releasing in September, it’ll do more than hold me over until Watch_Dogs releases.

    GTA V:

    More vehicles

    Larger map

    More weapons

    Better hand-to-hand combat

Releasing on WAY more platforms (all of them except Wii (yes I mean Wii not Wii U) GTA V is only releasing on PS3 and 360)

    Better world quality

    Possibly better graphics (minor benefit)

Freedom of not being labelled a cop (like in Lego City or L.A. Noire) or a criminal (Saints Row or the Gangster series)

Side Note: Thank you Ubisoft for putting the eShop logo next to Wii U (only one other developer group has done this so far and they’re indies). I wish every other developer was as supportive as you.

    • aldo2410

you forget to put that in GTA V you can kill the whores to get back your money, anywhay I doesnt play GTA V too much , I just put the war tank code and kill em up

      • bizzy gie

Love that cheat. You’re almost indestructible in that thing and I think you mean IV. As for the subject, in Watch_Dogs you can hack ATMs to take money from people’s account, but without drawing unwanted attention to yourself.

        • aldo2410

Yes, sorry I mean GTA IV, thanks for the correction

  • Andy Samson

Watch Dogs uses a new engine called Disrupt (not UE4!), the difference between the PS4 and Wii U versions won’t be like night and day this I assure you.

  • Ducked

Wii U version will be amazing. Please ubisoft show the power that the Wii U can do!

  • Nintendofreak

its beautiful, with a sparkle of stealthy, spyness , a touch of metal gear solid , like gta world , and iced i with technology that controls everything n hackers…think me in love <3

  • garyoaktree

    Yay eshop!

  • Derty

God damn this game is truly gonna b a breath of fresh air… It’s just a trailer and I already feel immersed in the story. Ive never been this excited for a new title that I’ve never played before. I will go to the midnight release if they hav 1 πŸ˜€

  • sdmac200600

Hey. It comes out on my birthday :D. Looks like I’ll be getting it for sure.

  • Anthony K Aurelia

    I’ll be getting it…but not until 12/24 πŸ™

  • I want it on launch may even pre-order, I just hope the wii u game pad will have some good special usage compared to the other systems.

  • discuss

This seems te be a cool game.

  • MasterPpv

Will I be getting it? Dear god yes! This honestly was the only thing that blew me away at last year’s E3. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t the only thing I liked. I looked at footage for Pikmin 3, Bioshock Infinite, The Last of Us, and others, and those videos reassured me that the games were progressing nicely and that they would probably live up to my personal expectations of them. But there was almost nothing that totally and completely grabbed my attention and held it – except Watch Dogs. I am beyond hyped for this game. We have the potential here to see something truly original and exciting. Ubisoft, please don’t disappoint me. Please.

  • aldo2410

If Mario Kart goes out at the same time, then i should have to say sorry to ubisoft, and then ubisoft will say: ok but thanks for buying rayman legends

  • JamesJose

if more awesome games continue to show up for the wii u, I’ll be so happy, but also without money by the end of the year. lol
