Feb 19th, 2013

Ubisoft is offering a 30% discount on their games offered through the North American eshop for a limited time. From now until February 26th, you can download any of their games at the prices below:

$34.99 – Rabbids Land

$34.99 – Just Dance 4

$34.99 – Your Shape: Fitness Evolved 2013

$34.99 – ESPN Sports Connection

$41.99 – Zombi U

$41.99 – Assassin’s Creed III

Can’t help but wonder if the decision to give this promotion to North American Wii U owners was made partly because of the whole “Rayman” backlash Ubisoft has received. Other regions may see a similar sale soon in that case, but thats just me guessing. Maybe they just want to boost sales of their Wii U offerings? Either way, it’s a good discount, so I’m not complaining. Any titles you’ll be picking up from the list now that they’re cheaper?

ubisoft isnt getting any more of my money. they can go f*** themselves in their dark, lonely, empty hq

  • Juan Manuel Hornos

ATM downloading Assasin’s Creed. Im so glad about this discount, amazing price for such a new game.

  • brian murphy

    assassins creed 3 for mii

  • AAAkabob

Nice gesture, hope this happens more often with other games too.

  • Fred

Yes, Your Shape and maybe Rabbids Land will make nice additions to my collection

    • andrewjcole

Who needs Your Shape when there’s Wii Fit?

      • Fred

I get bored easily and i got bored of Wii Fit and EA sports active 2 and EA sports NFL training camp awhile ago so now I need a new excersize game so that I don’t feel as bad when I spend hours sitting there playing NBA 2K13

  • SirDjss

i was hoping for the Rayman game to be released on wii u this month, but i think im gonna get the “cracked” version on pc instead and not support them anymore :/

  • Daniel Gonzalez

Nothing really interesting on that list that I’d buy.

    •  See, they have to make up their minds, either they hate them or they will pick up their GTA-like game.  People on here are hypocrites and bad publicists.

      • DK_Hadouken

Um, some people feel so screwed by Ubisoft that they will not support them, others feel the same but they will not screw over the developers and their hard work, and there are some that don’t care and want a good sale. So how are they hypocrites? And… “bad publicists?” Since when are we Wii U owners getting paid for what games we support? If this was because of the whole “Rayman Screw-Job” or not, it was Ubisoft’s publicist that came up with this sale idea to boost sales. I though you came here with facts Donaald? I mean you have every right to post your opinion. But I’ve also seen how you supposedly back that up with facts. It is clear that you favor other platforms. I’m a Nintendo fan, and death won’t stop that. But I will never hate on others and their preferences. Hell, the only reason the Playstation exists is not only because the Big-N saved the industry, but also because the Big-N screwed Sony over with Phillips. See I just gave facts without putting others down. It’s that easy. Just like in “Yo Gabba-Gabba”: “Try it. You’ll like it.”

Side Note: “I’ve heard that too many times. I’ll thank my oldest daughter for that!

        •  I hate it when people think that they are smart and just wrote something great when they do not even know what a paragraph is.

          • DK_Hadouken

I don’t think highly of myself. I’m entitled to comment, as much as you.

          • i hate when people say they don’t like Nintendo, yet they have 482 comments on a site dedicated to Nintendo. call me crazy but that there sounds like a faithful Nintendo fan in a closet

          •  If you read anything that I wrote, you would find out that I used to be Nintendo crazy like most people were – back in the old days.

          • “used to be”

          •  I did write “used to be.”  You are correct.  …!

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I think he means that people have a right to change their mind on anything. I don’t see where he’s trying to act smart, I just think you don’t like someones opinion on something, you try to defend yourself with said comment. You make it too obvious. Has nothing to do with smarts.

      • Daniel Gonzalez

Not sure if you’re refering to others on this site or that was directed at me Lol. Also, people change their minds often Donaald. It’s human nature. I’m sure you do plenty of times in your life, no use denying it. Yes, some people can be hypocritical. If i change my mind on a game, it’s either I played a demo and wasn’t impressed or I don’t feel it’s worth the price of 60 bucks.

  • Johny

already got zombiU and ac3 for a long time…

oh and yeah…. we hate you now ubisoft…

  • Where is european discount, comeon!

  • andrewjcole

If I could use Mii’s and it had stuff that Wii Sports doesn’t, I might get ESPN sports connection.

  • Regardless why they are doing it, it’s more enticing for digital downloads when they are at a decent discount. I can’t pay full price for a digital download if I can have the physical for the same price.

  • Silent

    Nice try Faggisoft.

  • Zombie_Andrew

I don’t hate Ubisoft, they’re just dicks…But if Watch_Dogs comes to Wii U I’m sure they can lower the title to do-do heads

    • Zeldatrek

It was confirmed today at PS4 press conference dooty dooty do.

  • oontz

Does anyone know how big the Zombie U download is?

The answer is 5737 MB. 😛

      • Daniel Gonzalez

He just asked for ZombiU, not the whole Wii U software library lol. Nice info though.

  • Genesect4ssb4

Guys. A reliable source at Kotaku said the PS4 was 430 for basic pack and 530 for premium.

Looks like the end of Sony.

Sony’s basic is almost 100 bucks more than Wii U Deluxe!Their premium is almost 200 more!
Game won’t save Sony. The console costs too much for most people.
And no one can enjoy 4K unless they buy a new 4KTV which are not too common and VERY expensive

    • Laud

If that turns out to be true it might be really bad for Sony but we shouldn’t be wishing for the end of Sony, on the contrary.. We should be wishing for the success of all three companies so that they can continue to innovate and bring us stuff to play.

—-Sony likes to think long term but in a world where technology is constantly picking up speed and becoming outdated faster it doesn’t sound like a good idea to think long term. But that’s just what I think.

      • Genesect4ssb4

I like Sony, but its just that Sony is in a bad financial situation in the games department. 430-530 means hardcore fans buy, and then soccermom casuals refuse because of the price

I want Sony to suceed. But things look bad for them.

        • Nintendofreak

looks like anoder ps3 for me…when dey barely started to make profit out of dem poor sony

      • i like sony too, how else would i play kingdom hearts

        • Fred

          3DS dream drop distance

      • RoadyMike

Plus, competition drives companies to do better and make better products. And we the consumers benefit form it 🙂

    • I hope for sony’s sake Kotaku is wrong, but they rarely are as far as I know, looks like “the Xbox” might be stationed next to the WiiU if it comes with some good games at least.

With that price the new PS (whatever it’ll be called) won’t make it for the first reason I never got the ps3, far to expensive. Maybe if it get’s good games soon after launch and the price will drop I might consider it. For now let’s wait and see till official announcements are being made on the price for the next PS.

  • tomtank91

Another poor attempt to get our support back, JUST GIVE US RAYMAN LEGENDS!!!

  • Nintendofreak

well just ac3 n zombi u d others arent worth d donwload…fitness evolved u must be kidding me

  • audi lover

Dont live in north america, I live in uk, they can go screw them selfs

  • Fred

If this sale causes sales of these games to spike, then more games will probably go on sale more often. I think we should all consider getting one of more of these games to show that putting them on sale helps us and them.

  • Edward Dudley

Face it guys we as Nintendo fans need ubisoft. They are one of the few 3rd party developers making games for the Wii U. I don’t know about you but I would want to play another ZombieU game and the next Assassin’s Creed on the Wii U. If we don’t start buying 3rd party developer games then the Wii U might fail. I want more 3rd party games on this system so I’ll buy the Rayman game once it comes out in September.

  • Good for gamers.

  • Tim van Broekhoven

    I bought ac for 32 euro’s…

  • RoadyMike

Guys, get over Rayman Legends already.I understand that it was a terrible move from Ubisoft, but I honestly don’t agree to all the hate Ubisoft is getting recently from the Nintendo fans…
They have pledged to bring their games to the Wii U,be it exclusive or multiplat, which imo,is pretty darn awesome. They WANT to make a ZombiU sequel and Watch Dogs has been confirmed for Wii U .Plus other games we’ll be seeing in later years
But if all this negativity and hate for Ubisoft you guys are showing continues,Ubisoft will believe all Wii U owners don’t want thier games(which is NOT true)and will no longer support the system.Other devs will think Wii U owners don’t want 3rd party games at all and won’t bring their games to the system.I can already hear the trolls and haters rejoycing if that happens…

    You all can either:
1.Get over the delay of 1(JUST ONE!)game in a mature way and buy the game when it comes out or simply not get it at all
2.Continue the negativity and eventually scare off one of the few studios(and possibly others)who truly loved the Wii u and were willing to fully embrace and take advantage of the possibilities it offered
    Your choice

    • AZJ

You are 100% correct.  I still want to be upset, but in the end, it does the system I prefer to play and myself no good.  Ubisoft made this terrible, stupid decision that will not do anyone any good.  At the same time, Ubisoft is the best third party publisher that the Wii U currently has.  They have released the most games for the Wii U than any other third party, they brought us my favorite third party exclusive for Nintendo since No More Heroes (please do not get into semantics on the exclusivity of No More Heroes), and they also are the first big publisher on the eshop to offer discounts.

Most/All big companies have morons that get to make the big decisions.  With the state of video game publishers (activision and EA), can we really say that Ubisoft is a worse company than those two?  Ubisoft, more than any third party publisher offers the most games on any platform launch if I remember correctly.  Though what I played were awful, I believe for the 3ds launch, Ubisoft offered the most support.

I still do not think I will get Rayman anymore for two reasons; to send a message to the publisher which will hurt the devolopers which is not my intention.  The other reason is that I was only jazzed to get Rayman becasue it was going to be  the best new game available for the Wii U in Febuary.  I support Ubisoft like I support any politician, I will begrudgingly vote in their favor as they are the least crummy company in a box of crumbs.

  • C.S. Bailey

AC3 was on sale at GS last week as well.

  • Fred

This weekend I found Mighty Switch Force HD on sale for $4.99 and picked it up.

  • Bob

Got Just Dance 4 – a friend of my 7 year old daughter asked if we had it, so when it went on sale I figured… why not?

So …. not being a big fan of dance games, I have to say … this is FUN! 🙂
