Last year one of the more successful Kickstarters for games was Cloudberry Kingdom, a procedurally generated platformer with a hardcore masochistic mode. Watch the above video to see what I mean. The game is designed to be punishing but fun and with help from Ubisoft, the game will make its way to Wii U this summer.

The above video is one of the original concept videos posted early last year so the art is definitely a bit old, but the general concept is there. You can check out a newer screenshot of the revamped artwork below. What do you think of it? Will you be buying the game once it’s available? Let us know in the comments.

I won’t lie, this game actually looks pretty sick. I think Nintendo has stepped it up in indie games.

  • Alex

Now this is a game for extreme hardcore gamers.

    • The Clockwork Being

“Hurr Durrr Nintendo doessnt havvey hardore gamersss. Call of Dutyies are hardcore.” -10 year old kkid

(im being sarcastic guys, Nintendo has awesome games)

  • Only a few are true gamers

    I want this game

  • Kevin Sepulveda

Im sold. Ive been waiting for long however

  • Ray01x

I think i’ll stick with the Abusive difficulty, if I go any higher i’ll probably throw my controller across the room. D:

  • Gabriel Morales

Alright Ubisoft your starting to win me back. The whole Rayman debacle is stating to be overshadowed by the vast amount of awesome games your giving us. Well played

    • Nintedward

Definitely. And what has 100% redeemed Ubisoft in my book at least , is that they are adding a lot of additional content to make up for delaying Legends.

I think the main reason us Nintendo fans were so outraged by the delay was not because it was going to other platforms , but because the game was supposedly finished and they were making us wait 7 months to play a finished game.

Making Rayman legends and their excellent continued support of the Wiiu is massively appreciated.

      • Ben Vangenechten

Wrong , we were all just to desperate for games, if it happened when lego city and monster hunter were released we wouldnt all be that mad. Sure, for a day or so but then we would go out and buy one of the two games mentioned before.

    • Adam Morales

what’s up bro! XD I agree though, especially with Nintedward, Ubi is turning into one of our only allies in this upcoming generation. I think I can best equate it to a job. your job can do Damn near anything to you, and you have to stick with being put through the ringers, but at the end of the day, you get paid.

      • Wayne Beck

Don’t forget Warner Bros. They don’t do exclusives, but they have been Supporting Nintendo from the Start.

        Arkham City: Armour Addition
        Lego Batman 2
        Arkham Origins
        Lego Marvel Heroes

and they Own TT so letting Nintendo Publish Lego City is a pretty Huge Deal.

Ubisoft is definitely winning me back though.

        • NkoSekirei

theres other third party developers supporting the wii u not just those 2 but maybe well see some big third party games being announce at e3 for wii u not just first party either

          • Wayne Beck

Your definitely right about that. I was simply pointing out a Big one. I think Ubisoft, Warner Bros. and Activision are the three heaviest supporters at the moment, but a lot of Devs are making Wii U games. I can’t wait for e3, I think Nintendo is going to blow our minds. With all three Hardware announced ahead of the convention, the whole show will probably be dedicated to software.

        • Gabriel Morales

You know your absolutely right, I just bought Arkham City this afternoon and I’m exited to try it out.

          • gamesplayswill

It is a hell of a game, what did ya think of It bro?

        • Ibi Salmon

They have LEGO Batman 2 for the Wii U? Didn’t know that…

          • Wayne Beck

It’s not out yet, but if you haven’t already bought it, I would definitely pick it up for Wii U. It’s a fantastic Lego Game.

          • Ibi Salmon

            I already have it.

But I’m glad Wii U owners get the chance to play the game. It’s pretty good.

    • The Clockwork Being

Ubisoft:1 EA:0. Ubisoft is actually a good supporter for the Wii U.Plus they prove that it isnt only the Nintendo games that use the gamepad in a smart way, using in helpful ways while playing with the TV screen.

    • The Clockwork Being

Anyways im buying alot of Ubisoft games for the Wii U even if they “look” better on the PS4. Mosrly because the use of the gamepad is going to be used in a great way. Not always tradition. Thanks Ubisoft and guys buy alot of Ubisoft games for the Wii U to show we are greatful.

  • Kholby

    I’m in.

  • Daniel Schwarz

Not sure I’ll have the patience for anything harder than “abusive” difficulty.

    • The Clockwork Being

If you raged at the water temple then im not sure youll stay calm to this

  • D.M.T

WOW!!! Ubisoft is shitting games for the Wii U. I love it!!! Keep supporting the Wii U and I will throw my money at you, I will make it rain on you!! 😀

  • Ubisoft… all you need to do now is to bring Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon to the Wii U you will win the best Company for LIFE!

  • Johny

im starting to get creeped out by all the support ubisoft shows for wii u O.o… damn
about the game… DEFINATELY getting it 😀 i LOVE such games…. Jumper and Super meat boy… that kind of games are my kind of games xD

    • Wayne Beck

lol I think they Looked at the PS4 specs and thought to themselves.. Making a High End Game on this System is going to Cost 200 million dollars, better go back to reality and team up with Nintendo..

  • Squid

Wow… That looks cool, if I get it I will probably be on unpleasant or easy XD

  • manowaffles

?Wait, what? I thought this was already going to be on the Wii U without Ubisoft involved. I’ve been looking forward to this since before the Wii U even launched!

  • uPadWatcher

Ubisoft is on the verge of becoming the #1 third party developer for Nintendo’s Wii U. Monseiur Yves Guillemot… Wii forgive U.

    • routerbad

Seriously, he is making a huge investment in this install base, taking an indie game and professionally publishing it on Wii U is crazy talk. We need to support this company very well. Ubi, Activision, and Warner Bros Interactive deserve some love from the Wii U fanbase.

  • Johny

TOUHOU … the 6th mentioned difficulity not showed in the video due to high probability of suicide commitment

  • greengecko007

Doesn’t look appealing to me. “Some like it hard”. Is the game really hard? I saw a lot of stuff going on in the video, spikes and what not, but I didn’t seeing very many people dying. There were many instances where I saw the stick person clearly touch the spikes or lava looking things without being affected at all. Very confused.

  • where’s the source? how do i know that this is real?

  • TrueWiiMaster

Wasn’t this game already guaranteed to come to the Wii U after its Kickstarter?

  • Gregory Edcius

Nothing but respect for Ubi at the moment they really turned their image from a few months back

  • audi lover

What the hell is going on In that game looks like a sat night down the club on acid crazy stuff

  • brian murphy

call that game super mario brothers nightmare lol

  • hell yes

  • Super Buu

    UbiDoes what EADon’t.

  • Fox Mcloud

    Release date more exact please

  • Levi Johansen

This looks cool, I’ll buy it!

  • Nobody

This game looks like it’s going to be an annoying game, at least for me.

  • Lv.100_Magikarp

you have to be a kazio mario master to play this game!!

  • ChiwawaBoi

  • fireheartis1

Wow Ubisoft sure is confident in the Wii U’s appeal. I’m for one am glad a company like Ubisoft cares enough to bring games like this out. I will buy it just to prove to Ubisoft that their faith in the Wii U will not go unnoticed.

  • Michael Jurado
