Ubisoft was one of the biggest supporters when the Wii U launched less than a year ago. Since then, there hasn’t been much from Ubisoft on the Wii U front — in fact, the company has yet to release a Wii U game in 2013. But unlike EA and other third parties, Ubisoft has been a vocal supporter of the Wii U. In a recent interview with IGN, Ubisoft’s executive director Alain Corre said that they believe Wii U sales will increase. He said: “We all think that they’ll be able to sell more machines in the future. They have some of the best IP in the world, and some of the best memories for their players” He continued to praise Nintendo’s first party IP, saying that Nintendo brands have “tens of millions” of fans, and that once these brands reach the Wii U, sales will increase. Wii U sales have been disappointing ever since launch. In the last quarter, Nintendo managed to sell only 160,000 units worldwide, which is about 1/4th of the sales volume the PS3 and Xbox 360 did. Sales increased with the release of Pikmin 3, which shows that gamers are interested in the console, as long as there are good games out there. Ubisoft will be bringing several big games to the Wii U this year, including Splinter Cell Blacklist, Assassin’s Creed 4, Watch Dogs, and Rayman Legends. As for Nintendo’s first party titles, we have Zelda Wind Waker HD, Sonic Lost World, Wii Party U, and Super Mario 3D World. local_offer Nintendo ubisoft wii u wii u sales stars Further Reading Rayman Legends Switch release date trailer Legendary Pokemon coming to Pokemon Go The cost of Nintendo consoles in today's dollars Ubisoft will announce more Switch games soon Wii U gets firmware update Watch the Smash 4 EVO Finals on Disney XD Zorpix Ubisoft is always talked about as a big supporter, but what about Activision? They made BLOPS 2 Wii U a really good version with some nifty gamepad features. And they’ve made Skylanders a big success there. They’re even offering the special gamestop preorder for Wii U as well as the other systems, no dodging around it. Honestly, While Ubi has made exclusive games, Activision has just been giviing the U the third party support it needs, and I think we need to draw attention to that :3 Deadpool U Well I think because Activision isn’t as vocal about supporting Wii U we don’t really hear much. Zorpix I think that’s how it should be. Don’t try to act like a hero by supporting them. Just support them Rich Cole If they give us Destiny then I will personally praise them. Ducked I hate FPS, but that would be great if the Wii U got that. Katanegama Metroid Prime is an FPS. But I do get what you mean. Me too, I’m done with FPS. Too many of them, especially on the PS3. We want something new and not the few changes of playstyle. Clel I do like FPS, but in small doses. Also it’s important for me that it gets mixed up with other things in a game, like what Mass Effect (2?) did. Severus Swerve I don’t dislike FPS. I dislike the way it is used though, pumped out yearly with a modern setting in which ‘Murica needs to save the world from terrorists. But there are others like Singularity, Metroid, Payday, Doom 3 BFG, Painkiller, Call of Jaurez, Metro, Bioshock, The Darkness and many more that try stray from the norm. Elitepwnsface I don’t like watered down fps, like cod and battlefield. I think games like borderlands, fallout, Half-Life 3, and Destiny would be nice fps to have on the system. oontz 3 of those are classified as RPGs Elitepwnsface Still has the act of wielding a gun the whole way through the game. Well Fallout you can wield other tools. oontz Yeah they are first person perspective, but in no way mindless shooters such as COD. I LOVE Fallout and hope fallout 4 will make its way to wiiu, imagine the gamepad as your pipboy? Ducked Agreed, at least those games have effort put in them. ScrewAttack I’d take Battlefield 4 on Wii U, I actually quite enjoy that. I’m hoping Ghosts is good on Wii U as I intend to buy it for our platform, thinking the community will be better than on 360. I’d love a Fallout title on Wii U….but I don’t think we’ll see one. Zorpix Master Cheif’s crotch, the game? Hell yeah I’d play it. Looks like space age borderlands. I’m down. Sonic the Hedgehog I hope my creators will boost Wii U sales as well. 3 exclusive titles are a lot of advantage I’m givin’. Archiq09 As Conduit is a exclusive nintendo … not best fps but really original for a fps… If conduit 3 out on Wii U I dont know if it will help sale? TULFich It brought none originallity, but it was a pretty badass game, specially Conduit 2, it just needs like a whole overhauling to make conduit 3, first: story, character redesing (something that worked out pretty nice in metroid prime 3 with the space pirates), bug fixing, lenght, and a complete costumisable multiplayer experience (yeah like CoD or HALO) and MORE DAMN PUBLICITY!!! both games are like hidden jewels for the Wii NkoSekirei and fix the multiplayer as well TheGamerGeek128 Not really anymore, The Conduit was recently ported to iOS, much to my dismay. I never played it myself but I did really enjoy its sequel on the Wii. Daniel Gonzalez Mobile and console market are two different things. So in terms of consoles, it still is exclusive. Johny yup conduit 2 is awesome Ducked Conduit 2 kinda bombed… Daniel Gonzalez Indeed. fireheartis1 Conduit 2 is still an amazing game non the less and I play it al the time. That cliff hanger ending with Abraham Lincoln was freaking awesome. I would love to see what happens in Conduit 3 with that ending being the beginning of the game. Hiring the actor that plays Duke Nukem was kind of a mistake though. jay Conduit is not exclusive to Nintendo. Daniel Gonzalez If it hasn’t been on another console besides Nintendo’s, then it is, on consoles at least. I don’t count mobile gaming with consoles ItzameyaToad From what I have seen/heard they removed the pre-order dlc off the Ghosts pre-order for Wii U on the Call of Duty website, so has Amazon. Not sure if Gamestop is doing it anyways or what but from the looks of it we may not get Free fall map with Ghosts on Wii U. Merrfn Gamestop has. This also means no DLC or support throughout the games lifecycle 🙁 LopsidedPasta Ubisoft, Activision, Sega. The Wii U 3rd party trifecta. Unfortunately, there should be more than 3 :/ Linskarmo Not trifecta. Triforce. 😉 Mark Platinum Games, don’t forget about them. Zorpix There really should TULFich Nintendo is missing like a bunch of business oportunities, like founding Shadow of Eternals, buying Atlus, Getting in touch with Bungie, and their publicity needs to be a bit more overflowing therealruben1 I think nintendo is trying to buy atlus ItzameyaToad We don’t know if Nintendo has attempted to buy Atlus yet or not. I believe they haven’t finalized the deal yet. If Nintendo did buy Atlus we will know soon. And really in many ways buying Shadow of Eternals might not have been an option for Nintendo. Who knows really I mean Nintendo isn’t your average game company when it comes to spending lots of money. They spend a little here and there but don’t go overboard. And how do we know Nintendo hasn’t contacted Bungie? We don’t but im sure they have and Bungie saw little interest in bringing there game to Wii U. DragonSilths Capcom with Monster Hunter being Nintendo exclusive till 2015. Namco Bandai is helping with Smash. Theres 2 more. Clel Platinum Games! Rich Garriques capcom NkoSekirei better hold ur breath on activison cause they just removed the free fall map off the wii u version of ghost on many game store sites and they promised they would give us full support maybe they were lying to us-_- Inkeyis Although I don’t like repeated games like call of duty, and maybe soon to be skylanders, I do respect activision for having the common sense to at least provide the wiiu with the basic support it needs from third parties. Activision could do more, but like ea, they could also do much much less. So I respect them for that. Sega and platinum are also very strong on the wiiu and definitely deserve much praise. Lost world, Sochi Olympic Games, wonderful 101, and bayonetta 2 will be key in making the wiiu a big player. I can see their games succeeding, and I hope all those games do. As much as I hated ubisoft for delaying Rayman, I do still respect their business approaches and I do like them for still supporting the wiiu. Unfortunately I only see Rayman, watchdogs, and just dance profiting mildly on the wiiu. I doubt splinter cell or ac4 will be that successful on wiiu. Capcom is also a good supporter for wiiu and hopefully they stay that way. EA can suffer in their mistakes and their investment in the Xbox one. Jon Well, I’ll be one to get AC4 At least 😀 I loved the 3rd one (some points were bad though…) Zombie Boy Never been a big AC fan, but AC4 is a day one purchase for me – it looks awesome! Mitch Hall It looks pretty good, yeah – especially compared to the rushed travesty that was AC3. Maybe I’ll pick it up during the Steam Winter Sale… Inkeyis AC4 on the wiiu or ps4 and Xbox one. In that scenario most won’t choose wiiu. Watchdogs is different in the sense that the main character relies on his tablet to hack stuff, giving the wiiu a slightly better fit. blindtiger “basic support” is all we need. just a few blockbuster titles from each company. we dont want or need every overblown fps. we have nintendo games, we dont need their crap, just the big ones for some variety. Elder Scrolls, GTA, dare i say it, sports, and star wars are all immensely popular ips that i would like to be able to play. Inkeyis I agree with you to some very large degree, but this could also force other companies to produce high quality games to counter the big ones while gaining free publicity. For instance, if PES made a deal with Nintendo to make the wiiu the only next gen system with PES, it could raise its reputation when compared to FIFA. Or any other indie making a sports game. EA’s sports monopoly on the wiiu is broken. DragonSilths Till Destiny is revealed for Wii U and or PC I wont give Activision to much support. Zorpix But if you give them more support on the platforms they’re not producing much on then they’ll pay attention to said platforms DragonSilths So I should buy games like COD that I hate to get the 1 and only good game from them I want? NOT HAPPENING. Zorpix they DO have other games you know. It was just a suggestion anyways. Merrfn Guess what? No Wii U support for Black Ops 2. And guess what else? Remember the way Activision confirmed Call of duty: Ghosts, would get the Free fall bonus map when you pre-order? The “stickers” were taken off yesterday I believe. Go to Callofduty.com or gamestop, and see the advertising has changed, the sticker for “free fall” has gone. No Wii U support. AGAIN! So much shady false advertising. Dez So much wrong with this. Activision is a crappy company that no one should respect, that people care about EA not making games for the Wii U is proof enough how stupid people are. Modern gamers don’t even think or care about the kind of crap they wind up endorsing. Ubisoft >>>>>>>>>>>> Activision blindtiger the only reason i want EA is for ncaa/pro sports and star wars… two ENORMOUS liscences. and liking star wars or sports is NOT stupid… just wish i could get them from someone else. blindtiger not hatin but activision only brought its 2 biggest franchises… and didnt support with dlc. and if the preorder youre talking about is for ghosts i think that has changed… that being said they are making something for wii u… unlike EA. but i think an exclusive title is “more supportive” than ports… ICHI Still Activision release the same balls on every system you can’t deride them for not making exclusives as they never really do on anything? Zorpix preorder for swap force. A special dark skylander preorder bonus type deal Nintendofreak so how many games did blacklist sold Thomas Fitzgibbon Well the Wii U has already sold more in less time than the Xbox 360 and PS3 did at launch (despite weaker last quarter sales as mentioned) and we haven’t yet had a new major Mario, Zelda and Metroid. Plus the forthcoming releases of Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, Sonic: Lost World, Bayonetta 2, Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Super Mario 3D World, Wii Party U, Wii Fit U, Mario Kart, X and SSBWii U. Conclusion: Should we really be that worried about Nintendo’s fate as Sony and Microsoft trolls want us to be? Answer – Sony and Microsoft…s**t’s about to get real! jay FINALLY!! Been telling people this forever. Plus there’s less incentive to buy a XBOne/ps4 than there was to buy a ps3/360 in 2006. At least jumping from ps2/ps3 you saw a major difference. Today I can’t tell if a trailer is for ps3 or ps4. Thomas Fitzgibbon EXACTLY!! Iwata was right. The graphical differences between 360 & PS3 to X1 and PS4 is so minimal, it is not worth investing another so many hundreds of pounds/dollars at this present time (if nice graphics are the reason you play games, but why would it be? lol), the launch line-ups for both are pretty disappointing as well to be honest. The Wii U is on much safer ground than it’s predecessor was. At least there is a more obvious significant advancement in several areas on Wii U than the PS4/X1. jay Check this out: in 2012 people were hassling me telling me the Wii U was “last-gen” and was gonna get destroyed by the ps4/720. I disagreed and assured them the difference would be minimal. Ps4/XBOne gameplay is revealed and suddenly everyones mouth is shut. According to E3 attendees Mario Kart 8 was the most impressive game visually on the show floor. Hmmm… Wii U’s “last-gen” graphics are more stunning then the very consoles that were suppose to destroy Nintendo visually? Irony? ***My next point that NO ms/sony-fanboy EVER brings up: The jump from Wii to Wii U is outstanding and a job well done by Nintendo. the jump from ps3-ps4 and 360-XBOne is almost invisible. If I switch from Wii to Wii U not only do I only pay $350 but it comes with a game, has WAY better hardware and most importantly, introduces new gameplay features and offscreen play. WOW what a steal!! Now you tell me, Who’s getting screwed here? I respect everyones choice, but there’s no way in hell I’m gonna pay $400+ for a console that’s just a tiny bit different from what I already have. Oh plus $60 for a game that’s $460+ Steven_Segal plus remember you gotta pay for PS +/XBOX LIVE every year! jay oh God don’t remind me. Rick van der Linde PS+ gives you loads of free games and discounts, so it’s kinda worth it. Donaald Agreed, plus you don’t need 8 gb of RAM to do Next-Gen, if devs were smart they would make use of the Wii U’s capacity to use S3TC compression for textures, something the other consoles don’t have, when it comes to ps4/xbone 8 gb of RAM won’t mean better graphics, it will only mean that devs will need to optimize less. jay Yeah it’s all marketing BS. Just look at the hardware and controllers, nothing new. Wii U is the console to get. Steven_Segal If Nintendo had the 3rd party support that other consoles have their would be no reason to buy a PS4/XBONE. DragonSilths The PS4 has 8 GB of Ram cause it needs it to run all the shit it can do lol. Twitch, and such. 3 GB will be for the OS. 3 GB to run everything else. 2 GB maybe for the games. Keyser Don’t forget backwards compatibility! 🙂 Jake to be fair, remember 206 xb and ps3 games to 2013. games like halo looked better and look at the last of us. i mean, it does suck that it takes 6 years to put their consoles at full potential. Wii U is close but ubisoft and Shinen are going to do soon (1 year). Next gen games will be bigger like no to little loading times but that means crap. who knows what will happen. there is no point of buying one now but one day it may come. oontz “The jump from Wii to Wiiu is outstanding” That’s what happens when you go from 480p SD resolution to 1080p HD resolution. I for one wish Nintendo would have made THAT jump many years ago. DragonSilths Actually I dont believe we have actually seen any ACTUAL gameplay of any Xbox One game yet…Every Xbox One game at E3 was running off PC… DragonSilths Well a game built from the ground up for PS4 say 4-5 years from now, will look better then a game built from the ground up for the Xbox One 4-5 years down the road (Halo 6) lol. Yet once again though graphics dont matter and launch games cant be used in the graphics debate. Steven_Segal LOL Zombie Boy I was talking about this with the people in my office at work, and they ALL say that they’re not going to bother with the PS4 or XBox One for at least a year because of the relatively small differences in graphics and the fact that they’re not backwards compatible (the current gen consoles are only just getting the likes of The Last Of Us and GTA5, after all). So if the general public share that opinion, I can’t see those other next gen consoles doing as well as some people seem to think they will either. In fact, during our conversation, many of them (all previously Sony and Microsoft loyalists) said that they’re considering getting a Wii U this time around instead, “because the games look more fun”! jay Oh yeah, anyone thinking XBOne and ps4 are gonna sell like hot cakes is delusional. If anything they’ll sell less than last gen. That’s what I kept telling that ignoranceiswhatsup guy. DragonSilths Xbox One and PS4 will sell out at launch. But then after it will be like the Wii U was. Some sales here and there. No big games till 2014 for PS4 and Xbox One. And all the Xbox One has is Halo 5… Zombie Boy I’m not disagreeing with you, but those that have preordered the consoles are most likely fans of Sony or Microsoft rather than the general gaming public, who wait to see how consoles perform before pulling the trigger (see my previous statement for evidence of this). Like you say, those consoles will do well upon release (thanks to their diehard fans), but then the sales figures will drop dramatically – just like with the Wii U. Exactly the same thing happened last time around with the PS3 and XBox 360, and it’ll happen again. The release of many of the best games (i.e. GTA5) this late in the current-gen console’s life, and no backwards-compatibility with the next-gen consoles, will have a major influence on the sales. I believe that all three companies (Nintendo included) are seeing the success of their previous consoles as a sure sign that their next-gen consoles will sell well, but the reality is that they are actually in competition with themselves (Wii vs Wii U, XBox 360 vs XBox One, PS3 vs PS4) for the immediate future. And the current economic climate doesn’t help either, with a lot of people out of work and trying to save every penny for more important things than new games consoles. ICHI I know so many people who are putting off getting a new system just because gta 5 is out soon and they can still get the New COD this year Zombie Boy Exactly. Yes, the PS4 and XBox One have some interesting titles, but NONE of them meet the hype of GTA5. So given the choice between spending their hard-earned money on those consoles or keeping their current one that they could play GTA5 on, most people would choose the latter option. oontz I’ll play GTA V on my ps3 and I’ll still buy a ps4 in November. Why can’t people have their cake and eat it too? Zombie Boy I’m not saying you shouldn’t. I’m saying that the general public probably won’t, at least not for a while. oontz That’s a pretty bold claim to make… almost as bold as people saying Nintendo will fail with the wiiu. Zombie Boy See my comment below, in response to your other post. Mark This is the mentality that I want all gamers to understand and accumulate: We don’t buy a console for the console, we buy a console for the games. Having “powerful hardware” is fine and dandy, but if the console doesn’t have good games, that hardware doesn’t mean crap. I’m glad your colleagues actually seem to care about the games than the system itself. Zombie Boy I couldn’t have put it better myself. Fortunately, those games are slowly but surely arriving for us Wii U owners. And yes, it’s nice to work alongside people that use common sense 🙂 oontz Yeah sony has you covered 😉 http://www.ign.com/articles/2013/08/23/gamescom-ps4-gets-33-games-in-2013-180-in-development Mark You’re entitled to your own opinion. oontz How is it opinion?? You clearly stated… “We don’t buy a console for the console, we buy a console for the games.” I then provided an article based on fact that sony is prepping a large scale assault of GAMES for PS4. At no time did I state my opinion. Do you even know what opinion means? Mark I also stated that console had to have “good” games, which means I have no utter interest in the PS4 (“Having “powerful hardware” is fine and dandy, but if the console doesn’t have good games, that hardware doesn’t mean crap”); the lineup is not interesting to me. I took it that your “opinion” was that the PS4 has a good lineup, as simple as that. Hostility is not needed in this situation. oontz Who’s being hostile? Just pointing out that at no time did I state or share an opinion. Mark “Do you even know what opinion means?” Is this phrase derogatory or not? I took it as a hostile move. You tell me. P.S: Okay, I thought your were hinting that the PS4 had a good lineup. My apologies. oontz You’re probally the same type of person who can’t see the difference between 720p movies and 1080p movies. And thats cool. If you don’t see the value in upgrading then don’t upgrade. But millions of people do see the value, I’m one of them. Zombie Boy Good, feel free to get one. I’m a Nintendo fan and I got a Wii U on day one, so who am I to judge? But most people won’t upgrade, at least not for a while. You might be seeing people on console forums (like this one) on the internet clamouring for them, but I’m seeing the general public (i.e not hardcore gamers) every day saying “I’ll wait, thanks”… And there’s a lot more of them out there than us! If you read my first comment you’ll see that I said “people in my office” and not “I”, and that’s a cross-section of nearly 50 people. All of them currently own a console, whether that be a PS3, XBox 360 or a Wii. So with 50 people who play games a least a little, none of which are saying they’ll rush out to upgrade, I believe that gives us a good idea as to how the general public feel. I guess time will tell. Clel Yeah, and that’s accentuated by the fact that a lot of games are coming out on both current gen and next-gen consoles. Steven_Segal Agree! plus the new Miyamoto IP, Wind Waker HD, Wonderful 101, Yarn Yoshi, SMT X Fire Emblem and other unannounced games! Thomas Fitzgibbon Oh yeah, Yarn Yoshi!! I am really looking forward to that as I loved Kirby’s Epic Yarn 🙂 I wonder what Miyamoto’s new IP will be? SO EXCITING!!! jay And soon the NEW Zelda and Retros next game. Paul Retros game is donkey kong, but still! jay That ones basically done, I meant their next one. sharlo galmo There next game will be metroid, two month ago Nintendo and retro talk about metriod on the wiiu. Jon 2 months ago retro said they wanted to do metroid but they wanted to do DK more, They never said out right that they are going to do another metroid. Saying this kind of stuff is how you set people up for disappointment and then they blame Nintendo for something they never actually said they were doing. sharlo galmo Dude read this. When Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze was unveiled at this year’s E3 as Retro Studios’ new project, many long-time Metroid fans were disappointed. Recently Retro president Michael Kelbaugh and Nintendo’s Kensuke Tanabe and Risa Tabata discussed what a Metroid game could feel like on the Wii U, incorporating elements of gameplay into the GamePad’s touchscreen. This is why i think the next game will be a metroid game, and we now that a metroid game will be on the Wii U. Why they disscus about a metroid game, if they dont want to make it, and a lot fans want this game. oontz so we’ll see a new metroid in 3+ years? that kinda sucks sharlo galmo I think 2+ years, cause i still think that they begin work on it at same time they make DK. I still dont beleave that retro hire, big peeps from naughty dogs and from other company’s who are good on online for DK. DK doesnt have online, so why they hire peeps for online things? They hide Something for us. DragonSilths Yoshi Land U!!! Sorry…calling it Yarn Yoshi for some reason just REALLY pisses me off lol. Neilandio “in fact, the company has yet to release a Wii U game in 2012.” Don’t they mean 2013? SonicLucario This is so true, why would someone buy a WiiU now when the games that are out for it now can be obtainable on other consoles? Once all the Nintendo games come out then the WiiU will be just fine 🙂 jay Pikmin is proving this. YogiGRB Did you know you can use your Wiimote to play Pikmin3 while being in another room then where you WiiU console is (also works with BlackOps2). It’s fun to see the gamepad function has a sensorbar build in 😛 jay Whaaat?!! This console gets better and better!! oontz I’m pissed the copy of pikmin I bought didn’t work. Froze my system when I started the game. Had to return it and now waiting for another copy. Levi Johansen The article has a few errors. Ubi is yet to release something in 2013, not 2012. And Sonic Lost World is listed as a first party title. Good article though, I completely agree with the points. – Nintendo launched a console for the first time without any of their best IP’s (Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Mario Kart) and then delayed their other IP’s (Pikmin, Wario) Also, we were all expecting Wii U Sports, Wii Fit U and Wii U Party to be there at launch (or within 6 months), because they decided to keep the Wii brand, but we have so far only seen Party with no launch date. All of this is being fixed this fall and winter though. Sales will be higher than with the Wii. jay Those are huge system sellers, I’m hoping Wii Fit U was delayed due to them creating an improved balance board. Squirrel09 Well the Wii U did launch with mario… Just sayin. But agree with you 100% Donaald Yeah, but Mario alone can’t carry the weight and demand of a whole userbase. CMB It was not the Mario people wanted sadly. But I am fine with it. TheBoldman67 That and Splinter Cell Blacklist is already out, plus in July they released Smurfs 2 (Nobody wants it but it’s true) Can’t wait to download Sonic Lost World though! Ducked The ecnomy sucks, its not like people have the money to toss around. There was very little software avaible, what makes people think PS4 or zxbox One will sell any better January thru September. oontz Well considering there are over 1,000,000 PS4 pre-orders already and many more people looking for the system for the holidays… I think sony is going to do just fine. You have to remember the reason the Wii did SOOOOO well was because every average person (gamer AND non gamer) bought one. Moms, dads, retirement communities… but the people who play games as a true source of entertainment bought PS3 abd 360. Those same people are ready to drop their hard earned money on the new systems in a few months. Mark 1,000,000 pre-orders does not really show anything. I mean, 1,000,000 is an excellent number, but there is always a chance that Sony may encounter problems with production and shipping. We’ve seen before with the PS2 and Dreamcast, which sold very well at launch, but they did not reach their intended sales goals (at launch of course) because of unit shortage. Hopefully it does not happen this time around. oontz I couldn’t agree more. This is why Sony has gone on record that so far this will be their biggest console launch yet in their history and that they have actually increased productions due to such a high pre-order demand. Initially I think Sony was sitting back worried after seeing not only their VITA sales but also the wiiu sales… but due to the high amount of preorders they have actually increased their sales forecast for the PS4 launch, and also increased their production. Michael Rowlands what i dont get is they say the wii u is unberpowered and then they say there is not going to be a big jump im graphical differences with the new consoles coming out……. NkoSekirei the wii u is definitely not underpower it packs more power then ps3 and 360 and if u played splinter cell blacklist alrdy the graphics look sick and amazing and the wii u can handle powerful gaming engines like unreal engine 4,frostbite and several others as well oontz Please stop comparing the wiiu to 8 year old hardware. It doesn’t make it look better. It’s like saying the Wiiu packs more power than the SNES. We know it’s more powerful. Compare it to XB1 and PS4 Jack5221 Nintendo is perfectly fine right now. Everyone said that Nintendo was dying because of the 3DS, well, look how that turned out. Hottest handheld video game system on the market and its only getting hotter. (POKEMON!!!) Wii U was released at a perfect time in my opinion. Think about, economy is rough right now. Releasing a console with a ton of games at once is bad because not everyone can afford all of that at once. Wii U has been out for almost a year now, giving Wii U owners lots of time to save up for this holiday season. Just a few titles I plan on getting before the end of the year, W101, Windwaker HD, DK Tropical Freeze, Mario 3D Land, Sonic, Rayman, and Watch Dogs. Assuming they’re 60$ each, thats 360$ in games right there, almost the same price as a Wii U 32g. If they all came out at once, with the console I’d be out 710$ (or in my case 660$ because I have an 8g Wii U) PLUS SALES TAX!!! So when I think about it… Nintendo is fine. Really, it is. PS4 is 400$ and Xbox One is 500$. Add the cost of games and it will be A LOT more than 660/710$. Not only that… But a lot of the games that are coming to PS4 / One are also coming to PS3 and 360. So there really wont be a rush to upgrade. Even though I do plan on getting PS4 / One Im waiting until late next year because this year is the year of Nintendo! (I always buy all 3 consoles) I’ll also be getting a 3DS Pokemon X bundle, Luigis Mansion, And Zelda link to the past. So a little less than 600$ for my entire video game fix these next couple months! 🙂 Steven_Segal Remember online memberships on PS4/XBONE CMB Thank goodness nintendo does not charge. Mitch Hall At least Sony and Microsoft have proper online membership systems. Not hating on Nintendo, but seriously, they need to fix that. Steven_Segal Black Ops 2 runs better on the Nintendo platform so… oontz no it doesn’t Steven_Segal Have you played? ICHI I have and it’s smoother, just wish there was more people so I wouldn’t have to play deathmatch or domination all the time! Steven_Segal Yeah, that’s why I sold it a few months ago. Le Chevalier That’s a shame Ichi & Steven- I’ve never played on-line multi-player before, so really looking forward to trying it out once I pick up Splinter Cell soon (and Ghosts in November), hopefully there will be a lot more people to play on-line with in the future though – from small acorns etc…. oontz Yes I have… the online experience is better on both Sony and MS. Not only does the game play better (Lag and Frame-rate), but there are more actual people playing the various game modes. Steven_Segal No, I don’t think so (in my experience). In PS3 is so bad compared to the Wii U (Lag wise) so I think it’s the definitive version. Mitch Hall When did I say anything about the online play itself? I’d just rather not have all of my digital games tied to a single console – if the console breaks for whatever reason, the games are gone, and that’s no bueno. With Sony and Microsoft consoles, the games are tied to my account, so I can simply re-download them after replacing the broken console. The only games I download from the eShop are Virtual Console titles. Steven_Segal Agree, I just though you said that Nintendo’s network was bad, sorry then. Mitch Hall Haha it’s fine dude. oontz Sorry PS+ is an AMAZING deal any way you slice it. Even suggesting otherwise is laughable. I paid $49.99usd last year and received over $1000usd in free downloadable retail games. Can’t beat that. Steven_Segal What if you already have those games that they offer? What if you only play certain games for online only but you can’t since you need PS+? What if they only put games that you don’t like? I understand why it is a good value for some but for me it isn’t. oontz You’re totally right. Nothing in life can make EVERYONE happy. I for one DO find enough value in the service to spend the extra $49.99usd. For less than the cost of a retail game I get great online and also access to some really great retail releases. Out of over 60 free titles given to PS+ users… even if you only downloaded and played 2 of those titles, you already got your money back on the service and still have an entire year of aSOLID online gaming experience. Have you ever wondered that maybe that’s why Nintendo doesn’t always offer online mulitplayer? Maybe they ALSO don’t want to foot the bill of online servers and infrastructure? They think their customers are HAPPY with only having offline experiences. Food for thought. Steven_Segal I really don’t know about that ”great online” since nobody has played on the PS4 (prob. it will be good). I think some Nintendo games (3d Mario, Zelda, etc) don’t really need multiplayer. oontz 3D Mario World would be AMAZING online! Hell even Nintendo land would have been amazing online. If a game already has a great multiplayer component then there is no excuse (in 2013) for that same multiplayer to not also be online. 00EpicGamer00 Yeah umm…”free” isn’t always a good thing. Like with trick or treating on Halloween (even though trick or treating sucks, but whatever, this is just an example.) On Halloween you get “free” candy, but there’s the risk that it’s poisoned or something. So, is getting something free really worth your life? And yeah, yeah, I know games aren’t poisoned or can kill you. But I’m just using it as an example on how stuff that’s “free” aren’t always a good thing to get. Though, I’d rather have free internet than “thousands” of free games, that are probably crappy. Cause usually games that are super cheap, or “free” are pretty bad games. Oh, and uhh, of you want to be technical, those “thousands” of free games aren’t technically free, you’re still paying for them, just not in the way you’d think. I guarantee, that all the money that comes from the internet fee, is used to pay for all those “free” games. So, once again, you’re still paying for the games, Sony’s just buying it for you. oontz Of course they aren’t technically free… that much is painfully obvious to anyone. The point is that PS+ is a valuable service. You’re not JUST paying for online gaming access, they are giving you much more to add value to the subscription. “Cause usually games that are super cheap, or “free” are pretty bad games.” Actually from free games last year is very large majority were great FULL retail releases that on average received high reviews. Imagine Nintendo offered a similar subscription and for $49.99usd a year you were given not only online access but also access to over $1000usd of quality software, retail wiiu games, wii games and virtual console games. NO ONE would be claiming it wasn’t a valuable service. EVERYONE would be claiming it was great and better than MS and SONY because Nintendo actually gives you games. Nintendo fanboys are the most hypocritical. 00EpicGamer00 Meh, I wouldn’t want “thousands” of “free” games. I’d rather pay full price for a game if it’s worth it. Cause the company spent all that time making the game, so they deserves the money. I find it pretty sketchy of Sony to just GIVE AWAY games. But once again, they’re not free, you’re still paying for them. So if you or anyone tries to bring up the whole “a dear her, Sony gives us free games.” Wrong! You’re not at all getting games for free. You’re still paying for them. There’s no such thing as “free” in life. The only thing that’s sometimes free in the world we live in, is shipping. And internet on gaming consoles, oh wait…only Nintendo’s free 🙂 I could of sworn that the PS3’s internet is free, but oh well, the more you know I guess. And besides, Nintendo has plenty of games in the eshop at a low cost. And most of Nintendo’s games are really high quality games, in both visuals and gameplay, that deserve money. I’d rather have free internet than free games. oontz Wow you just took yourself to a whole new level with that post. First… PS+ doesn’t give you “Thousands” of free games. Second… Almost all the games given to you for being a part of ps+, scored an 8 or higher. Third… it’s a game subscription service, how is it sketchy they give you games? That’s the whole POINT of the service. fourth… the service is $49.99usd a year, after the first game you download then yes basically it’s free because you have already recovered your initial investment. Let’s use Deus Ex Human Revolution as an example. That game retailed for $59.99usd, PS+ users were allowed to down that game for being part of PS+ with NO additional charge. That means not only did PS+ users get Deus Ex HR for $10 cheaper… but every game they download from ps+ after that is free. The list of games is vast and contains MANY really great games. fifth… no INTERNET is free. Online gaming access is free on both Nintendo and PS3, not 360. You or your mom and dad still need to PAY for internet access through an internet service provider. sixth… if you don’t ever play other games on other systems then you have no basis for your arguments, ever. You can’t base your argument on hearsay or conjecture. If you don’t own any of the games provided on the ps+ service, then how can you make an educated statement that they are not great or of high quality? You can’t just go around making blind assumptions about systems, games, or services that you have no general knowledge about. Doing so is not only a dis-service to yourself but to the other Nintendo fans you surround yourself with. 00EpicGamer00 First: oh, so you lied to me? You said they give you thousands of free games. If you don’t even know what you’re talking about. Then there’s no point in continuing this discussion. Second: Keyword ALMOST. Third: I just don’t trust things that claim to give stuff to you for free. Like I said, there’s no such thing as free in this world. Fourth: Yeah, and $49.99 is WAY to much. And that’s why I use Gamefly, no tricks no nothing, just $25 a month and I basically can play games for free. Now, I realize the $25 dollars a month is more expensive than $49.99 a year, but with gamefly you have access to ALL games, not JUST Sony’s games. So, it’s actually more worth it. Fifth: I wasn’t talking about computer internet. I was talking about game console internet. If I’m already paying for just regular computer internet, then I don’t want to be wasting my money on an internet fee for a console. That’s why, Nintendo is the best in my eyes. They don’t charge people what they’re already paying for. Sixth: I suppose you’re right about that. I don’t own any other console than Nintendo period! And I probably never will. I have dedicated my gaming life to Nintendo, and I’m happy about that. You can go and call me a kid that still believes in Santa again, but that’s just going to make YOU look bad. If you want to go and make fun of people from halfway across the world, all because they like/have dedication to something different from you, then fine, that just shows how much imaturity you have. oontz Learn to read… at no time did I say “they give you thousands of free games.” If you’re not even going to read people’s posts before blindly responding, what’s the point in even trying to converse with you? “I just don’t trust things that claim to give stuff to you for free.” Yet you completely contradict yourself by saying Nintendo is the best because they give you FREE online gaming. LOL $49.99usd A YEAR is too much but $300usd a year isn’t too much? What weird mathematical logic are you using to come to that conclusion? “with gamefly you have access to ALL games, not JUST Sony’s games.” Again you clearly show you’re not even the slightest willing to research something before making yourself look bad. PS+ isn’t just for SONY produced games… PS+ users get access many AAA multi platform games like the one I already mentioned Deus EX. “If I’m already paying for just regular computer internet, then I don’t want to be wasting my money on an internet fee for a console.” The fee for online gaming is used for the building, maintaining and servicing of the online servers. All other aspects of the consoles online life are still free. You can browse the internet, buy games from the psn network, message and chat with friends, etc. “I don’t own any other console than Nintendo period! And I probably never will. I have dedicated my gaming life to Nintendo, and I’m happy about that.’ That’s fine if that’s your outlook on life. But leave it at that. If you choose to live with such a close minded outlook on things, that’s your choice but don’t try to respond to people’s posts acting like you know everything, when you’re not even willing to take the time to research or learn about what’s being talked about first. You’re the worst type of fanboy/girl because you just respond without any actual first hand knowledge of what is being discussed. Lack of educating yourself before making wild assumptions only makes YOU look bad… Just keep it to yourself and don’t even bother responding. Or if you do want to discuss things on a mature level then take the time to actually research what you’re flaming in the first place. In the end you may actually learn something and It’ll make you look more mature as well. 00EpicGamer00 Awww, is someone jumping to conclusions all because they’re mad? Lol, you’re so sad xD *sigh* here we go again, first: PS+, you don’t get things for free, you still pay for it. Nintendo’s internet is completely free. You don’t have to pay anything. Fail moment for you. Second: my lord -_- I just explained my reasoning with gamefly. Please, stop jumping to stupid conclusions to try and win an argument. You’re VERY stupid you know that? When I said “Sony’s games” I meant ALL games on a Sony console! Not games made JUST from Sony! My lord, use common sense! With gamefly, since I own only Nintendo consoles (for some reason you’re mad about that, whatever) I can play games from 6 different consoles from them. Now, which is better? Gamefly thank you very much. Third: Okay, that’s good. So a PS3 does have free internet? Will you make up you’re mind? Fourth: once again, you seem to not understand someone else’s opinion. For the last time I don’t NEED another console. All I NEED is one. And Nintendo is just right for me. Sony’s too expensive right now, and I hate Microsoft to death. So what other option is there? Why do you care if I like Nintendo so much? Why can’t you just leave me alone and let people have their own opinions? Oh wait, you’re the kind of person that hates other that has different likes, oh silly me I seem to have forgotten. Let’s just shut up, stop this discussion, cause clearly you don’t understand what a different opinion is. So what if I don’t like Sony? Who cares? Why do you care so much? Creeper. Oh, I bet it’s because you’re Precious Sony isn’t getting any money from me, right? That seems the only logical answer as to why you’re acting this way to me. Cause, guess what? This may come as a shock to you, but in this world we live in, people have different opinions, mind blowing, right? Alright, bye. Can’t wait till the next post :/ oontz Wow… keep digging that hole you’re in. “Awww, is someone jumping to conclusions all because they’re mad? Lol, you’re so sad xD” Hmmm again I never jumped to any conclusions. Are you capable of reading the english language and the characters I have been typing? You are very successful at making yourself look bad. I actually think at this point you may actually have some sort of learning disability. Please don’t respond to any of my future posts as talking to you is like trying to talk to a pile of dirt. Completely useless!! Enjoy your closed minded life. GmailIsDown No one is saying Nintendo is going out of business. They are sitting on a mountain of cash and have the ability to completely discontinue Wii U and roll out new consoles if they want to. 3DS has no real competitor as Vita is just a colossal disaster and plagued by bad decisions by Sony, and the mobile platforms are too fragmented to publish “real” games on. Wii U is different. PS4 and Xbox One will take away any major 3rd party titles from them. Wii U simply cannot compete with the next-gen consoles in terms of technology, hardware raw power, and 3rd party support. Wii U needs to differentiate itself from the competitors by focusing on traditional Nintendo games which are safe and fun for family to play together and local co-op friendly, as well as getting a big price drop to make it attractive to parents. Wii is still the console of choice to many shopping consoles for their kids. Nintendo just needs to get the word out, and make Wii U more attractive than Wii, all things considered. Jack5221 Thats true. Those damn trolls always claiming “NINTENDO IS DEAD” always seem to get to me. haha. Nintendo could not make profit for the next 20 years and would still be alive and well. That is true with the 3DS. Most people here in Costa Rica don’t even know what the hell a PSP or PS Vita is lol. I brought up the 3DS because when it first came out, it had almost no games for it and the sales were awful. But its dominating now. That is true about about 3rd party support on the Wii U. Pretty much every console generation that goes by, I get all the big 3rd party games on my Playstation or Xbox. Unless the 3rd party games are exclusive to the Nintendo console, they always go on my other consoles. I, like many others buy Nintendo consoles for their awesome 1st and 2nd party titles. Sdudyoy Do people really believe that the Wii U will fail? if so your being more ignorant than the so called “Blind Nintendo drones”, Nintendo has done well with all of there consoles so far excluding the virtual boy, even if the Wii U fails somehow, think Nintendo is a 124 year old company, one fail isn’t going to destroy a company that old, but the Wii U is already picking up pace even though there are very few major titles on the console, If Nintendo really believed that the Wii U was in trouble they would have given it a price drop already, all they need to do is pick up pace with releasing games and better advertising. ICHI Well not all of their consoles, though great, the GameCube and the N64 sold rather badly, about 20million each I think? But they weren’t sold at a loss so its written up as a success. The Wii U will need a lot more than 20million sold to be seen as a success by the media but its too early to make predictions or say one company is going to lose over another. I just wish people would chill out, give it another two years or so and let these companies get the ball rolling before opening their mouths and preaching doom. Magnus Eriksson 2013, not 2012 GmailIsDown i don’t get Ubisoft’s commitment on Wii U, when everyone else has already bailed out. It is clearly a platform not yet made viable for big 3rd party publishers like them. With a handful of users, many of whom only like traditional Nintendo style games, and with an architecture that is costly to develop games on (as admitted by Nintendo), and difficult to port future games to (weak hardware, powerPC instead of x86 like PS4 and Xbox One), I don’t see any possibility that they can succeed. Theiz Zzee Ubisoft is loyal. The Wii brought them a lot of success and wants to be part of the solution and not the problem. I don’t know where Nintendo supposedly admitted the architecture of the Wii U is costly to develop for. Developing for Nintendo has tended to be cheaper to develop for, for many years. Now as far as costs to develop vs profit that is another story. Since we are well into the HD era developing for all major AAA games costs more now. Is it as easy to develop for in general? No but, still not like brain surgery or rocket science. Porting will not be much of an issue. Game engines are a lot more scalable than years past. The Wii U isn’t weak. That’s why games like Need For Speed was made using pc assets. Watch Dogs was made along with the pc, XBOX ONE and PS4 not the 360 and PS3. You just need to use it in the manner it was designed for and take time to learn it. Using the GPGPU as intended. Developers oftentimes had smaller and less skilled people developing games for the Wii U. When Wii U sales pick up so will 3rd party support. Well you can’t see everything. GmailIsDown if Ubisoft was loyal they wouldn’t have delayed rayman legends to wait for development on the other platforms. besides in a business world it is all about profit, not about being a nice guy even knowing it will bite you in the end. and Wii U is incredibly weak hardware-wise compared to the next-gen consoles. it is a cold hard fact. in 2014 after the major actions have shifted to PS4 and Xbox One, why would anyone spend time and resources to port their games to a much weaker hardware, with a completely different architecture, with a small user base? Andreas Sunde In the business world its all about profit. What you need to understand, is that there are two kinds of profit. short-term profit, and long-term profit. Supporting a struggling system, will enable you to profit when that system picks up, because that sytems owners remember how you supported them. This is what Ubisoft are doing. Sure, purely by specs, Wii U is incredibly weak. But the Wii U hardware is more optimized, compared to PSBone, and the x86 architecture means we will se more ports done with very little work, which is good foor devs, but not necessarily good for the games. The Wii U has a lot of untapped power, I’m not sure about the same for the other next-gen consoles. Do you really think the PSBone will sell any better than the Wii U? They probably won’t havr as bad quarterly sales, but they will not sell amazingly. There is no major graphical difference between PS3 and PS4, most of the games are available on both systems, and the PS3 is getting GTA V, something the PS4 is not. Plus, if graphics are that important, buy a PC. Theiz Zzee At the end of the day as a business you are going to make decisions you feel are best for you. You aren’t going to give 100% support if, you feel it will take you down while bringing yourself down too. Now if, Zombie U sold a million copies then I am sure Rayman Legends would have been an exclusive. You assume a lot will make the jump to XBOX One and PS4 but, don’t be so sure. A lot are content with ladt gen for now. Your so called facts are merely rumors by people content not to look any further. How can you truly no how powerful when you don’t know all of the customizations and what they entail. For instance the CPU was a cookie cutter of a decade old processor just for backwards compatibility they say. When it wasn’t the same die size, didn’t have multi-core, or that amount of cache. We are dealing with circuitry here not playdough here. In addition there were other lines of CPU’s to base it off of than what is assumed. It’s like Ken Griffey and Ken Griffey Jr. Junior came from his fathers line but still was a lot better than his dad. The only true way to know the power of the Wii U is to have it bench marked. A lot of rumors you hear saying the Wii U is weak is for people like you who don’t look too deep in the matter. Content to dimiss the Wii U. Why would developers develop for the Wii U powerful but less powerful than the others of next gen? The same reason they did for the PS2 and the Wii. To make money. They know the install base will increase and they can help that. It magically increased in strength and can run frostbite and the latest unreal engine. Give me a break. Aleksander Capcom aims for 30 fps in Dead Rising 3 how is that next gen to you LOL! stop the BS about wii u is underpowerd cause its not! YogiGRB Uhm … it’s not costly to develop for WiiU (hence the many indy-developers) plus to port to Nintendo WiiU is almost copy past and it’s unity software has build in controler assignment making it super easy to port to. Get your facts straight! GmailIsDown a previous IGN developer survey showed that 63% of the devs agreed that Wii U was the most difficult platform to develop for. and a number of companies skipping Wii U have expressed similar opinions, though theirs are to be taken with a grain of salt. and also i quote Nintendo directly “When it comes to the scale of software development, Wii U with HD graphics requires about twice the human resources than before. Please allow me to explain that we may have underestimated the scale of this change and as a result, the overall software development took more time than originally anticipated just as we tried to polish the software at the completion phase of development. However, we are almost out of this phase, and we are also trying to create something unique utilizing an easier development approach called “Nintendo Web Framework.”” it probably wouldn’t make too much a difference for the small indies as their projects are relatively simple. when the projects get big, it will be a different story. remember back in the day Sony touted that PS3 had those super slick CELL processors from IBM which were supposedly much more powerful than 360, but it turned out they were notoriously difficult to utilize. in the end, ps3 and 360 games look more or less the same, and many games even look and play better on 360 because it is easier for developers to develop on 360 and then port to ps3. for the next-gen, both PS4 and Xbox One have x86 architecture, same as PC, and it will be easier to develop and port games among these platforms. Wii U still stands out as PowerPC. YogiGRB So you believe IGN, a site know to be paid to give bad gameratings to games not on MS consoles. Nintendo said that “for them” HD development is a bit different because they are only now starting to develop in HD and they don’t put out half finished games. Also about the CELL processor, i hope you do know that MS paid and told developers to develop on Xbox and make parts exclusive to them for sertain periods of time before releasing it to “others” which is the reason ALL multi platform games don’t look and play as well on play3. Once again …… get your facts straight!!!! I will not answer you if your reply with such a long but unfortunately wrong assumption. DON’T FOLLOW/BELIEVE EVERYTHING THE MASS MEDIA BLUTS OUT WITHOUT YOUR OWN INVESTIGATION AND KNOWLEDGE !!! ICHI The unity engine does make things easier but not if your game runs on the unreal engine or frostbite or framework etc etc, it most certainly not copy and paste unless the game was built on unity. But yes IGN is biased towards MS. YogiGRB Leave a message…Yes that is true also and thx to the NFN (Nintendo Frame Network) it is a lot .. ney, it is extremely easy now 🙂 ICHI Loving the use of the oft overlooked ney! GmailIsDown well in the end there are more exclusives on PS3 than 360. don’t tell me Sony has not been doing the same thing, if you think microsoft is able to buy out the entire IGN to publish false statistics just to screw up a dying system further, and pay every multi-platform game developer to make Sony’s expensive CELL processors look completely useless, you are delusional. YogiGRB Get informed correctly cause they are, MS is know to exclude you as a dev if you want on there console but do not develop on it. they know that porting from Cell to their system makes the games look outdated. Plus just look at how stunning those PS3 exclusive’s turn out to be. …. nuf said oontz You sound like an idiot…. you better delete your post or the bad men will find you and punish you for sharing their master plan with the rest of the sheeple. Wanker YogiGRB Ow shugs, aren’t we grown up calling people names. Does it make you feel a better person 🙂 i hoop so for you. And if being informed, knowledgeable and willing to share what i know makes me a wanker ….. so be it 😛 peace out 00EpicGamer00 Wow, and that is coming from someone claiming to work in the Industry? Lol xD, a business wouldn’t hire someone with that much immaturity. You seriously sound like you’re 14 or 15 years old. oontz I was being completely sarcastic with my comment. It was meant to be amusing not serious. I don’t believe the OPs claims are based on facts. 00EpicGamer00 I don’t think calling someone an idiot is sarcasm. oontz I never said they WERE an idiot… The OP is spouting opinions (Not facts) that they believe there is a BIG conspiracy involving big business and video games. It’s quite funny. 00EpicGamer00 What up with all the down votes, huh? Can’t handle a conversation appropriately? Okay? If it’s funny, then laugh it off. YogiGRB Did you know you can use your Wiimote to play Pikmin3 while being in another room then where you WiiU console is (also works with BlackOps2). It’s fun to see the gamepad function has a sensorbar build in 😛 Jon why did you say this exact same post twice in the same article? YogiGRB it was supposed to be as a reaction to someone, but posted as comment by accident. so i had to repost it but at the correct pleace (person) Antar Rodríguez LOL when was this article written? in 2012? ubisoft has already released splinter cell Le Chevalier It’s weird, but when I bought my Wii U a month ago after a 10 year hiatus from video games (last machines owned N64 & Neo Geo CD) it was mainly with the idea of playing Nintendo’s own in-house games such as Zelda & Mario etc, however, superb as those titles look (naturally), right now it is the 3rd party titles that seem to be holding my attention most – Splinter Cell looks awesome & I hope to pick it up next week when I get paid, likewise COD: Ghosts, AC IV, Watch Dogs & Deus Ex all look superb too, so lets hope the game play for these all live up to everyone’s expectations when they’re released. I for one am prepared to give Ubisoft & Activision etc the benefit of the doubt for now and give them my full support & hopefully in return they won’t stiff us Wii U gamers with half-hearted ports and lack of extra content that the other consoles receive as standard. In the end it is in their, and our, best interests that games such as these succeed so we can have even more great games released on the Wii U in the future (The Division would be nice Ubisoft !?). Andreas Sunde Ghosts seems to be the same disappointment BLOPS2 was, though. Promising full DLC support, promising pre-order bomus map, and then giving nothing. Le Chevalier True, but I’m an optimist so until it’s officially announced by someone that the bonus map is no longer part of the Wii U package in whatever form, I can still live in hope ! :o) You listening Activision – don’t let me down now ya hear !! DragonSilths I swear this is like a broken record…We hear this praise over and over to Nintendo from Ubisoft. Nintendo4life Im going to get all there games for the wii u except for rayman legends due to what they did to nintendo.Sorry UBI but you don’t screw nintendo and it’s fans and not pay the price and there are others who agree 00EpicGamer00 Are you crazy? I for one, AM getting Rayman Legends because I love the series. And not mad over something that really doesn’t matter. It’s JUST a game for crying out loud! Also, if you look at it through a business perspective, you’d see that Ubisoft made the right decision to go multi-platform. Cause remember, at the time the Wii U’s sales were not too good. And, uhh….game companies NEED to make money so Ubisoft just made the decision they thought was best. You should at least be greatfull that they still decided to release it on the Wii U. Nintendo4life No problems here i was just stating a fact and the fact is Ubisoft made a commitment they couldn’t keep and we the wii u fans paid for it and had they released it first ..like they said they were going to maybe wii u might have done a little bit better. So what im saying is they made a promise they didn’t keep. So no i will not buy it and i understand they need to make money..We all do but to make a promise to nintendo and there fans and than screw them..Sorry im passing on it. Hate me for stating a fact. If stating a fact is crazy than yes i am crazy and so are others who support this game Andrew Chambers I’m just not interested anymore like I was in February. There are a lot of other games coming out I’d rather get. What upset me about the ordeal was that they had the game finished in Feb and didn’t release it then. The poor vs pulled all nighters for no reason. 00EpicGamer00 They weren’t allowed to release it because of Microsoft. Micrisoft has this law that if any game is going multi-platform, all the platforms need to receive it at the same time. me q-mobile crocodileman94 “Wii U sales have been disappointing ever since launch. In the last quarter, Nintendo managed to sell only 160,000 units worldwide, which is about 1/4th of the sales volume the PS3 and Xbox 360 did”. Of course you could’nt make a positive article without making it sound negative in some way. GmailIsDown you have to deal with the elephant in the room Deadpool U That’s just what John does….. crocodileman94 yup… Sylux Only thing I fear about this statement from Ubi is that when N does bring the big first party games, 3rd party devs will even fall back more with making games, they then use the statement WiiU is no option, gamers on that platform are only interested in 1st party titles. Not the first time that happens, and probably won’t be the last. I think only Ubisoft, Activision, Sega and Capcom (even though so far they only have MH3U and a few eshop titles) will come true for WiiU in the end :'( I hope I’m wrong though, but the past has proven otherwise a few times to many. Anyway keep it coming Ubi and Acti 🙂 crocodileman94 What about Disney? Sure, their games are not the best, but they support Nintendo as much as they support Sony and Microsoft nonetheless. Le Chevalier Disney Infinity looks kind of cool and has been getting some pretty positive reviews – certainly looks more appealing to me than Skylanders Swapforce anyway, but then I’m a fan of old Cap’n Jack. Just wish they would show and explain more about the actual game play of the playsets and how the additional/separate characters work rather than focusing on the toy box mode, as not yet convinced it’s worth shelling out all that money for at the moment. But I hear what you’re saying about other 3rd party companies, personally I’d like to see a few more games from Capcom though or how about Konami (did they have a falling out with Nintendo or something?) GmailIsDown you have Pokémon Rumble U so no need for Disney Infinity 00EpicGamer00 Pokemon Rumble U is an eshop game and the figures aren’t required to play the game. Disney Infinity is a retail, “gotto-go-to-the-store-to-buy-game.” And the characters ARE required. And Disney Infinity looks better. Also, why the hate? And why are you telling him/her what they shouldn’t play? Le Chevalier No worries, I don’t think any offence was meant. To be honest I’ve never been a Pokemon (or indeed turn-based JRPG’s) fan in general, so Rumble U wasn’t on radar anyway. GmailIsDown i just find Rumble U much more attractive than the (in my opinion, uninspiring, money sucking) Disney Infinity. it is not a turn-based game. Sylux Yup you are right indeed, only mentioned the above 4 because they popped in my mind, disney is also a good supporter of wii u and surely there are some others as well. Andrew Chambers Take 2 gets a ton of sales on Nintendo platforms. They’ve stated before that Nintendo sales account for most of their numbers. Lassassino “in fact, the company has yet to release a Wii U game in 2013.” Splinter cell was released August 20th 2013. Article written August 24th 2013. Fail ICHI Wasn’t cloudberry kingdom published by ubisoft too? Jared Garcia I think Ubisoft has become the forefront of stealth games. I’ve been playing Splinter Cell: Blacklist and I know for a fact that games like that are best suited for Wii U. bizzy gie “in fact, the company has yet to release a Wii U game in 2013.” Splinter Cell Blacklist Brian Lockett This is so off-topic, but so worth it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3q0pgm3LUcc T^T Brightened the heck out of night! And made me want some Golden Sun again. Okay. Back to our regularly scheduled program. ICHI I love this guys Final Fantasy themes too MujuraNoKamen Ubisoft has released a Wii U game this year, Splinter Cell (if only just) Can this site give that game some publicity please. I’ll pick it up soon and I hope some of you guys will. If you don’t support these AAA 3rd party games we’ve been asking for then no one will and we’ll be swamped in doom and gloom articles and lose valuable support. Also, Wii U launch sales were pretty good, I hope this was an honest mistake and not flame-bait. crocodileman94 You have to get used to it. When John doesn’t write a negative article, he write a positive with negative elements. TaintedXGamer Ubisoft Please Red steel 3!, they could use gampad and still have the + controls from RS2 Nintendo4life Not sure which one to get yet Xbox one or ps4 hummmmm? SuperSonicBrawler Erm, Sonic Lost World is 3rd party. It would be awesome if SEGA became a first-party developer for Nintendo though. They obviously work well together. Andrew Chambers Think they meant to say sonic was an exclusive. starwars360 Yeah it is first party and exclusive for Wii U and 3DS because the fact Nintendo is help in developing with Sonic Team. 🙂 nintendope Ubisoft need to effing patch Splinter cell’s multiplayer and add co-op… Or not be a cry baby when theyr games dont sell Veliki N I wish we could get Splinter cell Blacklist for 3ds. But with same gameplay as on Wii-u( not some side scroller)and graphics like RE revelatoins. Some extra content would be nice, and much stuff to use with touchscreen. The little gizmo is perfect for that kind of game.HEAR ME UBISOFT!!!!!!!!! starwars360 Hey you forget mention that Donkey Kong: Tropical Freeze and Wii U Fit also coming this Winter 2013. How hell you forget those 2 more first party Nintendo releases for Wii U!!!!!!! ludist210 Sonic Lost World isn’t a first party title… adamm “Nintendo managed to sell only 160,000 units worldwide, which is about 1/4th of the sales volume the PS3 and Xbox 360 did. ” That’s not that bad relatively. The Wii U costs almost four times as much as the Ps3 and 360 anyways, sells more accessories, and Nintendo makes more off their mostly new first party titles than Ps3/360 make off their mostly third party titles, many of which are available used very cheaply. (Not to mention how many people buy PS3/360 because their old one broke, which doesn’t give Sony/MS any game sales along with the purchase) Microsoft and Sony have done a better job at hyping things, but they’re probably going to be selling at a loss next year too while Wii U gains more momentum. Nintendo will probably be in better shape with this by mid-2014 than they ever were with the Wii.
