When Two Tribes announced it was going back to basics and shuttering its doors in order to reform, that left many people wondering whether they would see another installment in the Toki Tori series. According to Colin van Ginkel, one of the founders of the studio, Toki Tori is not something the studio is going to explore again, thanks to the flop of the second game.

“Well, since Toki Tori 2+ didn’t perform as well as we had hoped, we’ve decided that we are not going to be making a new Toki Tori game, ever. He’ll be back in some easter egg probably, but we are moving on and taking on other genres.”

Two Tribes is scheduled to release more of their Two Tribes Classic games on the Wii U eShop, but as for what new genres they could be tackling, that’s still a mystery. Sorry Toki Tori fans, if you wanted another puzzle adventure, you’ll just have to keep waiting.

  • Assassinated23

I liked Toki Tori 2, but I’m excited for whatever else they have planned.

  • RyuNoHadouken

    thanks you!!

  • Love the TokiTori games but the audience they need definitely isn’t large enough to support new, big games from them. It’s too bad but understandable.

  • Donaald

    They should make shooters.

  • BIG Franky

  • SolarGalaxa

Then why did they say they were impressed with the sales on the Wii U? if you aren’t impressed, then just say that.

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

Their game flopped off the wii u or something

  • Jonathan Dogey

You see people??? You see why you shouldn’t “copy that floppy”? I know it wasn’t a piracy issue with this game, but still a teachable moment is a teachable moment. This is an example of how the games we love will fade away if we don’t support it with our money.

    • companyoflosers

or an example of what happens when you make something people arent interested in buying. i dont recall there being anything all that interesting that ever made me consider spending money on it. im probably just different in that my opinion differs from yours, but how i see it is if it were that great, it would have succeeded.

  • wober2

I love all of their other games much more then Toki Tori games. Rush is amazing! I really hope for more games that use the gamepad like rush does.

  • Carlos Webster

    Good move.

  • Daniel Gonzalez

    No big loss there.

  • Groose

You didn’t buy our game, so we won’t make another one. EVER.

  • Cyberus

Toki Tori should’ve been kept as a Gameboy exclusive.

    • Daniel Gonzalez

It should’ve stuck to mobile games. That way, it’s at home with all the other crapware.

      • Cyberus

  • Vriska Serket

Oh, glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t give A SINGLE FUCK

  • That guy who hates Spike

Eh. I don’t like puzzle-platformer games. Plus, Toki Tori looked bland, and looked like it played bland. Toki Tori 2+ was pricy to begin with.

    • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

your loss TT2 was awesome;. Great puzzle game

      • That guy who hates Spike

If I don’t like puzzle platforming, then its not my loss.

        • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

Says the guy who bought Trine 2

          • That guy who hates Spike

            …And I disliked Trine 2.
I got it on sale, thinking it would be a worthwhile incentive, after all it does look impressive. And I was dissatisfied with the product.

  • Laer_HeiSeiRyuu

    Game kinda bombed on steam
