Today, Activision announced a new game for both Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS called Transformers: Rise of the Dark Spark. The game is a complement release for the new Transformers movie entitled Transformers: Age of Extinction that will appear in theaters this June. The game is a third-person action adventure title that will contain over over 40 playable characters from two different universes in order to secure the Dark Spark. The same will serve as a direct sequel to last year’s Transformers game, Transformers Prime. The multiplayer mode Escalation will be returning in Dark Spark, which sees wave-based survival gameplay thrust upon up to four players who must overcome the challenges cooperatively. New defense systems and an all new roster of playable characters means there are even more ways to survive the onslaught. You can check out some of the screenshots of the game below. The game will be released for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS4 and PS3 in addition to the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. local_offer activision Nintendo transformers wii u stars Further Reading Here’s some Darksiders Wii U gameplay. Nintendo share price hits a 5-year high Nintendo announces 2017 Summer of Play tour Someone added Kirby to Mario Kart 8 Uniqlo’s official Nintendo t-shirt line Someone added Sonic to Mario Kart 8 Stuart Thomas I just can’t get excited for these kind of games. It feels like….MEH! FutureFox Bayformers. Ashley King Pretty much. They’ll milk this franchise until it’s just as dead as Call of Duty. NkoSekirei im passing on this after buying the first movie based transformer game it was a joke and waste of money ScrewAttack Another trilogy incoming. Be thankful Hasbro don’t have direct control over the games, the regurgitated shit they’re putting on toy shelves this Summer is…well…regurgitated shit. If the game ends up anywhere near as bad, then it’ll be straight to the bargain bin/actual bin behind the store. Gabe Hoffman Well at least its third party support ActivesiN if its like transformers war for cybertron and fall of Cybertron then im getting it for sure Joe Fraley War for cybertron was awesome, and the multiplayer was a lot of fun. jjbredesen NO! why would they use the movie’s Transformers, and if High Moon is not making this one i will not buy it… could be good, but i think i will pass… DragonSilths And still no Destiny…Come on Activision you only have 1 key title right now. Sylux I could get excited for this but need to see more, third party action adventure. My friend loved the previous installment on PS3. But yeah, Destiny, do it 😀 MujuraNoKamen There’s only one game with transforming robots that I’m hyped for: X! Brandon Be happy the wii u is getting another 3rd party to their line-up. Transformers is not a bad game especially if they add the multiplayer. Why is that nintendo owners want activision to put Destiny out on the wii u, just go buy a xbox one or ps4 the game will be the best on the those two consoles anyway. NkoSekirei transformer movie based games suck ball the good ones were war for cybertron and fall of cybertron even though their on other systems ScrewAttack Fall of Cybertron I’d still be playing now, if High Moon studios hadn’t dropped support almost instantly. The MP was quite enjoyable, albeit in need of some rebalancing. Hopefully the new studio treats this game better. The story and resources set up by High Moon were great, but their commitment not and, whilst I’m not really a Movie fan, apparently one or two of the games have been quite good. It’s on my watch list. Brandon Oh nevermind i thought it was something like wfc and foc. Sdudyoy Ehh, I’ve never cared for the Transformer series, this could be a good game, I don’t know but I’m not going to get it. Donaald -.- abe coming to everying except the vita, yet the Wii U is doomed? Carl Fin and Steam, steam is doomed. Arthur Jarret No iOs or android version either. Smartphones are doomed. DOOMED I TELL YA! kevin nun—- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-vCkwAqzB3g RyuNoHadouken .. Guest Couldn’t agree more. Sam Well, it’s something. Not much, but it’s something. metalpants I’ll wait for reviews. If the gameplay is fun (I love me some co-op online play), and bug/glitch free (unlikely) then I’ll give it a chance. The graphics are a blend of “hmm, nice” and “bleargh! x^U” so we’ll see what aspect of the game will they focus on polishing most. The Clockwork Being Well seeing how Fast and Furious the Showdown turned out, don’t really have hopes for this game. Why not something good like oh I don’t know… Starts with a D…Destin…Destined…no… Dest…DESTINY!! Give us DESTINY!! Rinslowe I would buy “Destiny” on Wii U. The Clockwork Being And that useless downvote on your comment. Really don’t get why. But yeah Destiny would be more than welcome. Virus6 As would I. However, since the whole game is based on multiplayer, I would be inclined to get it on a PS platform since most of my friends play on there. If they had cross-platform play (HAHA, right?) then Wii U would be my choice Rinslowe Yup. I agree. leo well…. atleast its something ZyroXZ2 A 3rd party game on the Wii U!? 3rd party support confirmed! Wii U undoomed! RedRocBoy Can’t wait. Really good to see Activision still supporting the Wii U. Looking forward to The Amazing Spider Man 2 as well. Really liked the Ultimate Edition. Still play it to this day. like2nap Wouldn’t be a point in calling it “3rd party support” unless we all buy the game to ensure it does well. If we want 3rd party support we have to support what 3rd party support we get. Guess I’ll be buying a transformers game. Simon Stevens There goes ny childhood again 🙁 Adam Howell Activision doesn’t put their games on eshop and that rules their games out for me. Not that this one interests me. It’s the 21st century. I’m not interested in constantly swapping disks around when I want to change game. shoeses47 So in other words, you’re not buying this game because you’re to lazy to change a disk? Wow. That’s just sad. Adam Howell Not so much for this game. I’ve no interested in the transformers franchise and have no indication that the game will be of interest to me. But there are plenty of games I’d like and could pick from that are available in a more accessible downloaded form. I’d make an exception, if forced to, for a game I really had to have, such as the next Zelda. Disks, like shoe laces, are just outdated to me. I don’t need them cluttering up my shelves. yienwae Shoe laces are outdated?!? Velcro! We need velcro! Slip ons have been here a lot longer me thinks. 😀 Adam Howell Indeed! Velcro is better in ever way. NkoSekirei i am so tired of movie based games their not good except for spiderman 2 and the only good transformer games were the war for cybertron and fall of cybertron and keeping an eye on the the new transformer online game coming soon ScrewAttack *Cough*The Warriors*coughcough* Rinslowe Hmmm…. I’m open to checking it out. lonewolf Its for the PC as well. Daniel Gonzalez Yep. Not to mention PS4, PS3, 360, and Xbox One. nexxus6 If the game was not coming to the WiiU, everyone would be going crazy saying how the WiiU is a failure. The game is coming to the WiiU and many are still not happy. I guess most here don’t like positive news. Prizm great, another game based on a movie. we know how good those games are. TheHaydenator I hope it fails, especially since High Moon aren’t developing it. Carl Fin Spiteful much? So you hope dozens of people lose their jobs because the studio you wanted to dev a VIDEO GAME chose not to. TheHaydenator Where did I say I hoped that dozens of people lose their jobs? Carl Fin It’s more than obvious that if this product fails, then dozens of people will lose their jobs. It doesn’t take a genius to work that out. Dark-Link73 Not interested in it but glad Activision is still supporting the Wii U. They’re turning out to be better supporters of the Wii U than Ubisoft. DrNope The Wii U is saved! Nintendo Forever! Dáibhí wotshissurname Is Optimus…wearing blue lipstick in that screenshot? yienwae My son will be interested in this. We may buy it depending on it’s release window. Right now, the priority is MarioKart, Watchdogs and X. Carl Fin Did anyon see that the Wii U sold 40k last week and the xbox one sold 48k. And the gap has closed every week this month. http://www.bubblews.com/news/2397541-wii-u-has-almost-caught-xbox-one-in-weekly-sales-according-to-vgchartscom Whateveryouwantittobe Looks better than X….
