Toys R Us is currently running a promotion for 3DS and Wii U games to buy one and get 40% off of another. This promotion is running all the way until 10/12, which means Pokemon X & Y is included. Pre-orders work just fine, so if you want to use this promotion to order some upcoming Wii U games, you could save yourself a considerable chunk of change.

All Wii U and Nintendo 3DS titles are included, including the upcoming Pokemon X & Y. It’s worth noting if you don’t want to order from Toys R Us online, you can mention this online deal at your local store and many of them will price match. Some retailers like Walmart will also price match promotions, so if you don’t want to order online and you don’t have a Toys R Us in your area, Walmart might be a viable option.

Do i get charged before my items shipped? Or could i preorder and not get charged till release?

    • readypembroke

When you preorder, you don’t get charged until it ships/comes out

    • Theiz Zzee

I am pretty sure you have to have to pay for it first to get the offer since if, you didn’t you might use the money elsewhere.

  • Ducked

All I remember as a kid going there, is there games were always overcharged, and most sales didn’t mean anything

    • JB

That’s too true! I think the first (and last) game I got there was Mario 64. I believe at the time it was about $5-10 above MSRP. Unfortunately it was the only place that had any copies left.

      • Ducked

Same here, I had to buy smash bros melee there because everyone else was sold out. and like you said, it was above the MSRP

        • BIG Franky

i think that may have changed…. i’ve never paid over MSRP (the last few years at least… i cant speak to like, back in the 90s or whatever)…. i actually just picked up Batman Arkham Cith there last week for $14.99.

  • IBlock

I would go to my local Toys R Us to get my hands on Pokemon X/Y and any Wii U game I’d like to have.

      • IBlock

My location doesn’t have a Walmart.

        • Lassassino

          Ah you’re mexican

          • IBlock

            No, I’m Indian.

  • Jonny5

I actually just got back from a local toys R Us after buying two 3DS games for my son. (For Christmas) The 40% off is a good deal. I didn’t notice that much of a price difference compared to any other retailer. (Walmart is still the cheapest but usually only by a dollar or two)

  • Ashley (or anyone), Do you know how fast pre orders arrive from Toys-R-Us? I have never used them for pre order and I am hesitant. Thanks!

    • I have no idea, I’ve never purchased from Toys R Us online. Keep an eye on Amazon, because sometimes they price match stuff like this on their site without announcing it, like when they put Rayman Legends on sale for $39.99 to match GameStop.

    • Fuzunga

I ordered Skyward Sword from them way back because they had the remote bundle in stock. I believe it took a number of days. Three to five, maybe?

    • Daniel Gonzalez

I would suggest Amazon. Toys R Us isn’t very good with preorders. I’ve tried them in the past, but that’s just me.

      Or more…

  • Skelterz

is this deal running until 12/10/13 or ….10/12/13…? kinda confused

    • skeet mageet

dates are usually written as MM/DD/YY

      • Aces ‘n Eights

You do realise that many places (Europe comes to mind quickly) write dates in DD/MM/YY format

        • Lassassino

But this is an American site and in America its mm/dd/yy. In the article it also specifically says that pokemon x/y is included in the timeline for this deal. Its common knowledge that, that particular game comes out oct. 12 2013. So the average person should think to themselves hmm why the hell would they include a game that would be at the very beginning of a 2 month promotion and not include such games as zelda a link between worlds, mario ect. Common sense right?

        • andrewjcole

It’s like that in French too.

  • The True Gamer

Id buy pokemon x, and then pokemon y!

  • Ice Climbers

Darn. If only I hadn’t preordered Pokemon Y at Gamestop. I’d take advantage of this to get Pokemon Y and then another game that I haven’t yet gotten.

    • Rick van der Linde

Canceling the preorder isn’t an option?

  • Lusunup

    They don’t have smash 🙁

  • Donaald

I suggest you guys get Darksiders II, NFSMW, Ninja Gaiden 3, Tekken Tag Tournament 2, Rayman Legends and Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.

    • andrewjcole

Don! You’re back? Or did you ever leave? Anyway, I haven’t seen you on here in a bit.

      • Donaald

        Do I know you?

        • andrewjcole

Hmm… not really, I just used to see your comments a lot more on here.

  • Schultz38

Pokemon X, A Link Between Worlds, Rayman Legends and Mario 3D World for me.

Torn between W101 and Rayman, but Rayman just has better reviews. Brother is getting CoD: Ghosts for birthday in November. Will be getting Sonic: Lost Worlds and W101 for Christmas.

Still haven’t finished Pikmin 3. Need to pick Monster Hunter back up.

And then there’s 2014….if only Nintendo could have provided this kind of content for the Wii U a year – 9 months ago. The Wii U would be a different system with a drastically different story to tell.

    So many games, so little time (and money). ;_;

  • I am Error.

This is a great deal and thank you for sharing it!
I was able to pre-order Super Mario 3D Land for the Wii U and Zelda: A Link Between Worlds for the 3DS and nabbed Zelda for 24 bucks. Woo-hoo! Free shipping, too. A good choice for the deal, too, because they both release on the same day in November.

    Thanks, guys!

  • Rinslowe

Very nice deal there! Toys R Us just got my two thumbs up support!! lol.

  • Matski

Was mega excited and then I realized this deal was US only!!!! god damn it!!!! best I could get is 5% off Pokemon X and Y 🙁

  • Luciano Brazão
