Wii U game pre-oders
Amazon Germany has been offering the Wii U as a pre-order for over a week now, not just the console, but games as well. While it’s unlikely that many have pre-ordered the console due to an inflated price of almost $450, many future Wii U owners have already put down their money on Wii U game pre-orders. Here are the top 10 pre-ordered Wii U games, according to Amazon.de.

Top pre-ordered Wii U games

  • New Super Mario Bros U
  • Pikmin 3
  • ZombiU
  • Nintendo Land
  • Assassin’s Creed 3
  • Wii Fit U
  • Rayman Legends
  • Rabbids Land
  • Sports Connection
  • Avengers: Battle For Earth

An interesting note on the Wii U pre-orders: Wii U games in Germany apparently cost €70 to pre-order, which is quite a lot, even for Europe. The pre-order price translates into almost $90. Earlier today, Amazon revealed what appears to be the first Wii U box art. The pre-orders also reveal that Nintendo Land might not be included with the Wii U for free, as many have speculated. Nintendo has previously said they are undecided whether to include it as part of a Wii U bundle, much like Wii Sports for the original Wii back in 2006.

Thanks for the tip, Anand!

    No numbers on the preorders?

  • The Kid

    I should be pre-ordering Assassin’s Creed 3 soon.

  • TheBoldman67

I’m sorry to say I will give up on Wii U if the games are actually 90$.
ugh. I mean it’s probably not true, but what if it is? then Nintendo would be losing for real this time.

    • TheBoldman67

People say Wii lost but it didn’t, let’s just hope this is retailers being dumb asses.

      • markw1982

well nintendo have made a huge loss so i guess they got to regain their losses somewhere

        • Daniel Dzimega

In the UK the prices are £39.95 on shopto.net which is about $62

      • TheSomewhatReservedman43

The pre-orders on Amazon US are actually $100 for many of the games, but the games are not going to cost that much. The reason for the high price is that they do not actually know how much the games will cost, as prices have not yet been announced, and chose a safe number that is guaranteed to exceed the final price. The excess money will be refunded when the official prices are announced. It’s a fairly smart move.

There is no “what if” in this situation. Nintendo would not debate so much on a cost for the console and actually sacrifice a little power to make it affordable…. then go and sell their games for $100. I saw on Walmart.com the preorder price was $99 and I knew right away that was only because the price has not been determined. No video gaming console is going to price their games at $100… at least not any time soon. I highly doubt they will go above $60.

  • Swic11

These prices are most likely placeholders, if you go to GameStop.com you will see some wii u games at $99.99. It’s just a price they throw up there. It has to be higher than retail because they don’t know what it will be. If they placed it at $50, and they actually cost $59, the retaer would have to sell it for $50 because then people could complain of false advertisement

    • MisterEd

The prices are just that: place-holder prices. It’s obvious considering that nothing has been made official in terms of prices for either the Wii U or it’s games.

What has been said though, is that the prices will be low and affordable.

I think I’ll wait for the product in the store. Not quite thirty, but I’m getting older so I’m going to have to warm up to pre-orders and downloadable stuff from Nintendo before I change completely. I can really see myself having a full external drive of DLC including full games.

    • Baka

And then your external HDD fails.

  • Chaos

    Hey guys,

please calm down! I’m from Germany and I can tell you that the official preorder prices for most PS3 / 360 games are also 69,99€. Nevertheless, this price is never the real deal. Most the games drop in price on their launch date to about 40-50 bucks. I guess Wii U games will be as expensive as PS360 Games, but not more.

  • Paul

gamestation, shopto etc have them for £50 each in uk

  • nucima

69€ is/was also a normal price for a PS3 game here in germany I think.
Sad but true, that you get the same PC game for 45€….

  • nucima

Regardless currency rate is bullshit. Almost every product gets exactly the same price.
One reason is that we pay 19% taxes instead of 9%. The other, that most companies fuck about currency rate because people buy it anyway

  • MisterEd

I just hope that Rayman Legends a has better reception and sales numbers than Rayman Origins did. These latest games don’t just look beautiful, but they have great gameplay. They are a nice change of pace from all those FPS/TPS dominating the landscape.

It will be great if this series finds it’s way in as many homes as possible. And launching with the Wii U is a great opportunity for just that.

  • Frankensavior

I want New Super Mario Bros U, Pikmin 3, Nintendo Land, Assassins Creed 3, Rayman Legends from the list. Although the game I want the most from this year “Darksiders 2” is #1 on my list.

  • Bruno

Nintendo already said that Wiiu games price will be U$ 50-60.

number 1 on my list is super mario bros u than pikman, nintendo land, raymend legends, and hoping for a new mario kart a few months after release
