Today Nintendo released a mini Nintendo Direct surrounding the western release of Tomodachi Life. The game is like a cross between Animal Crossing and The Sims, using Nintendo’s Mii characters. The game will launch in North America and Europe on June 6. Tomodachi Life was a huge success in Japan, selling more than 5.5 million copies. According to Scott Moffitt, this unique launch gives Nintendo 3DS owners a new way to interact with a game that they’ll want to visit again and again.

“Nintendo fans are familiar with Mii characters, but now they come to life in ways they never have before – with their own lives, interests and personalities. Customization and open-ended play are two big video game trends for 2014, and Tomodachi Life delivers a fun, creative experience that makes you want to visit again and again, because there’s always something interesting going on.”

It’s such a quirky game. I probably won’t buy it, but I’d play it if I had it.

    • steveb944

That’s such a confusing statement. You would want to play it…but you don’t want to buy it to play it. Ask for it as a gift then, Haha.

      • Thomas Vienna

It doesn’t seem confusing to me at all. If I can think of a better way to spend $40, then I won’t buy the game. If I did get it as a gift though, I probably would have fun with it.

  • Amazing technical feats for a game, and the most hilarious Nintendo Direct I’ve ever seen. I want this game pretty hard.

I was laughing the whole way through.

    • It was pretty bizarre… on the other hand something about it really intrigued me, I’ll think I’ll probably pick this up sometime.

    • That guy who hates Spike

      Reminded me of Nintendo Week

      • Ugh… I miss Nintendo Week so badly…

    • jjbredesen

      • seriously

        • jjbredesen

Yeah it would be fantastic, just imagine when they reveal Zelda U and Miyamotos new IP in a format like this XD.

But i am wondering if the Samus thing was a hint at us getting a new Metroid??

I could be over analyzing XD

          • thaaat’s over analyzing 😛

          • jjbredesen

You had 3 “a”‘s in “thaat’s” and used 3 words………….Half Life 3 Confirmed as exclusive for Wii U!

          • …stop while you’re ahead XD

          • jjbredesen

You used 3 … in your comment witch confirms my theory XD

          • …I… I’m done..

          • jjbredesen

You have used … 3 times and your reply had 3 words, you can’t hide the truth i am guessing that we will get to see it in the next Zorpix Den 😀

  • Ian Settlemyer

That should make Miis playable in SSB4.

  • steveb944

All hail Virtual Boy! Haha, that was awesome.

I’ll be picking this up because I love my Mii. First thing I thought was Tamagotchi when I read the title.

  • Mario

    Okay… Weirdest Direct ever.

  • Justin Thomas McGowan

It looks a little too silly… is certainly accept it as a gift at least for the Club Nintendo coins but it looks like a waste of money otherwise. The Direct for it was just annoying.

  • Assassinated23

    Samus is GLaDOS!

  • Commander Raichu

    this direct was stinking hillarious

  • asdfg

    This is perfect

  • Tim van Broekhoven
