Toki Tori 2 is a cute platform title that will be released via the Wii U eShop at launch. Developer Two Tribes just posted the first trailer of the game, showcasing the gameplay, visuals, and all the other stuff a trailer is supposed to showcase. We’ve also got some new technical info on the game: it appears that it will play in full 1080p HD on the Wii U, which is good news, since Nintendo’s first party launch titles will only support 720p. Of course, Toki Tori 2 is a much simpler game than something like Pikmin 3. Toki Tori 2 follows a little chick who’s on a mission to save its siblings, taking it through a variety of levels and missions. The game is expected to cost $10 on the eShop.

Check out the full Toki Tori 2 trailer below. Be sure to also subscribe to the Wii U Daily YouTube channel for all the latest Wii U videos and trailers.

What the hell is this? -_-

    • Galaxy

      A GAME OMG

    • Yodin

What does he think it is LOL its a game, played the first one on my iPad 2 but not finished the game yet 🙂 I cannot wait for this to come out on the Wii U.

    • Alienfish

Guys you should get onto right now, a developer for this game is answering questions in the comments section of the preview for this game, he is’nt giving away too much about the console, but you might be interested. sorry for advertising another site. His name is Collo btw and he is legit.

    • Aman

Why don’t you go find out? If you don’t know, I’m not gonna tell you.

    • BluChuChu

It’s a very cute and fun game sporting excellent visuals and art style. Something very rare indeed, so I figure you for not being able to notice it at first.

  • Nintendude

I swear I’ve seen the first game somewhere…

    • Bob Singh

      i don’t

    • Macarony64

on the nes and a secuel on wii

  • Dazz

I would choose some more playable game not a 4 years old game.

    • gPadWatcher

It’s because it’s a fun and challenging game, you freaking moron! U mad because it’s coming to both Wii U and Steam.

    • Galaxy

How can it be 4 years old when it’s new and unreleased?

      Your logic is flawed

      • gPadWatcher

What you failed to realize that it’s a SEQUEL.

        • hunter santana

he meant to say 4 year olds. grammar counts! the gameplay doesnt seem to flow smoothly it to slow if he could do a little sprinting some jumping but still used the puzzle elements effectively it might be for me. but its too slow to create a challenge like from the looks of it, you got some sweet candy liking time to figure these out.

          • Kyron

Too slow to create a challenge? I’m sorry sir but have you ever played the first Toki Tori? It was frickin’ challenging on a whole notha’ level!!! Anyone who’ve played the first game will tell you, “its a challenge bro.”

A slow paced puzzle game is just as great as a fast paced puzzle game.

    • ninjabake

So you would prefer something that involves minimal thinking huh? Like say, a shooter?

Don’t get me wrong I enjoy shooters(I enjoy all genres) but just cuz a game is colorful doesn’t mean its “kiddy” platformers have been proven to be much more challenging games than “mature” themed games.

If your too close minded to try something different than that’s your own perogitive but don’t bash a game like this that expresses a unique art style and different aspects to a videogame. The problem with this current Gen was ‘gamers’ such as yourself who fail to realize all gaming truly is is playing with your toys as a kid just interactively on a TV screen.

It entertains you the same way it did when you were younger if you take games seriously like they should be real life then one would question if your getting a healthy dose of reality in your real world.

Videogames are about having fun and enjoying your time, nothing more nothing less.

      • Kyron

At least this game requires some actual brain power…

      • Non-Specific ActionFigure

best words ever said, and I agree

      • elbossmx

        I totally agree with you.
I enjoy all genres of games. But I have more fun with games that require actual thinking, instead of games in which button smashing can get you through the whole game.
I’m looking forward to more games like this one.

  • JP

I thought other games could play on 1080p? Or is this the first confirmed game to be able to?

    • Bladgrim

All games can be in 1080p, but Nintendo has announced that all of their first-party games (Pikmin 3, New Super Mario Bros. U, etc) will only support 720p.

      • EvanescentHero

At launch, to be clear. They’ll get around to releasing first-party games in 1080p.

        • JP

Dang, I was hoping pikmin would be in 1080. That’s too bad.

          • Kyron

60 fps more than makes up for it though

    • elbossmx

I think it was already confirmed that Batman Arkham City and Assassin’s Creed III will be in 1080p.

      • jamin

exactly. those are 3rd party games, sir!

  • Dazz Sucks

Its made from the same company from left4dead 😀

    • EvanescentHero

Nope. Left 4 Dead is made by Valve.

  • Galaxy

You know it’s not the first game to officially support 1080p on the Wii U right?

Assassin’s Creed 3 and Batman: Arkham City also do 1080p

    • Neonridr

I think it’s the first one to actually go on record saying that it supports 1080p. Even though we all know that those other titles you listed do in fact support it, I don’t believe there has ever been an official word.

  • P4temperance

    😐 ………………………………..interesting?

  • John nathan

(maybe they should release it on Easter with a 2 thumbs down rating)

  • tekkentagU

looks fun but i don’t think it’ll do that great

  • t_vo

Is Steam running the wii u online network? I know Nintendo was looking for a partner for the online system, and we recently heard that talks fell thru with EA and their Origin system. Perhaps Steam won out?

    • EvanescentHero

God I hope so. That would be amazing.

  • MR.nintendo

I’m sick of games for young children. please nintendo do something worthwhile

    • Nin-Ten-Go!

That’s why it’s an eShop game and not a game to be sold at retail for full price.

    • PS360Wii

… this is an e-shop game. This game not made by Nintendo.

    • Aman

Yeah!!! Yeah!!! I want to shoot some tits!!!!

  • MR.nintendo

  • derty

    This loox like shit XD
Loox like a ten year old developed this game BAAAHAHAHA

    • Josh

Says the man who can’t spell the word “looks” properly.

      • derty

Properly? U must go to sleep with a suit and tie on u little square XD

        • jamin

go back to kindergarten, man. learn how to spell and share. come back here.

        • Josh

I actually go to sleep in a shirt and shorts. What I sleep in doesn’t determine whether or not I can spell. Your move, friend.

  • Mida

The next Zelda game better be full 1080p. I wanna get my brain blown off

    • elbossmx

I’m actually hoping for the next Zelda to be long, with a good storyline and a great gameplay.
That would be way better than just 1080p. In fact, I’d prefer it to be 720p at 60fps with really interesting and challenging Boss fights with everyting on screen moving smoothly than Batman’s carboard like movements on 30fps.

      • EvanescentHero

Except the Wii U can run 1080p at 60fps, from what I’ve heard, so why not have both? =)

    • Roy

Yeah and I hope Star Fox,F-Zero and Metroid are 1080p as well!!! 😀

  • Socalm9814

Yeahh! gu gu ga ga, lol I love nintendo but sometimes you just have to laugh,

    • Kyron

Free cheers for blood, guts, sex, and f-bombs!!! YAAAAAYYYY!!!! ((sarcasm))

  • bob

they should make a wii u junior, for kids games like this.
and a wii u senior for over 18s shooters and survival horrors,

    • Kyron

…and a wii u college graduate, for people who like games with real challenges.

    • Josh

Alternatively, you could just buy the games you want, let others buy the games they want, and stop being an idiot. With statements like that, I think you should invest in the junior model.

      • Britton

Well said. But unless this is a different “Josh” you totally contradict your other statement under the “Game Party Champion” thread where you bash diversity of games for the WiiU. I hope you changed your mind.

        • Josh

I did not comment on that article because I have no interest in the game. You can tell it is someone else using that name, because 1) I do not live in America, therefore I cannot go to Walmart or Gamestop. 2) All of my comments are properly punctuated, and I do not swear in my comments, unlike that comment. 3) There is nothing that could stop me from buying a Wii U, and I’m not that narrow-minded to think that one game aimed at another audience should be enough to sway my opinion.

          • Britton

            Good 🙂

          • Aman

Yes, you do sound smart, unlike the other Josh that craps his pants.

    • LolWatTurtles

So if a younger gamer were to get a Wii U Junior they would only be able to buy or play “Kiddy” games on the console? This is the most bullshit retarded idea I have ever heard of. What the fuck are you thinking? This actually pissed me off just reading that.

    • Grodus

Oh’ and a Wii U easy, for people who want really easy games! Oh wait, that’s the Wii U senior. 😛

      • Grodus

        “Oh’ ”
        should be “Oh, ”

        • Kyron

lol. That was funny. Nice one.

  • Hi8us

I really don’t understand how people can knock this game from just the video. Toki Tori 1 was a wiiware game. There’s no jump button so you have to figure out how to proceed in the game through some tricky puzzle-style platforming. The immature shots show the mental age of the people making the negative comments.

  • Kamakaze

The original Toki Tori was an awesome game, it is a Lemmings sort of puzzle game. It certainly is not just for kids, some levels were extremely challenging.

I am assuming in the WiiU version all the items and such are in the WiiU pad, so you can’t see the UI in the trailer. But you have to use your limited items to get through the levels.

  • Ledreppe

    I’ll probably get this!

  • Bravyoura

Damn their should be a shrugging you shoulders button on the keyboard, I want AAA titles (NOT F#*$ing PIKMIN) to troll PS3/360 with not something Disney forgot to draw.

    • Kyron

Dude, Pikmin IS a AAA title.

What is your idea of one? Battlefield 3?…Skyrim?…MW3?…

    • Aman

You are a stupid person. Bravyoura, I have never heard you say anything that made sense and the only thing you convey is a dislike for what you usually get from Nintendo and its plaforms. Your are a stupid person.

  • nintendoododo

i remember first toki tori. It was kinda hard. Looking forward this game.

  • Nick Watt

People see graphics and cute characters and immediately assume what the game is and who it’s made for. Without seeming to corny, don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
After watching the preview trailer of this title, I deducted that it required allot of logic to create this game and it’s evident that hard work went into it.

The visuals all had to be drawn and made up and there are multiple animations happening on screen at one time which indicates allot of artwork. Other indications of creative is the depth of the artwork distributed in layers from the foreground to the background, it looks great!
Music compositions are also evident. It may not be Zelda or COD but the game clearly has charm in it’s own genre which appears to be puzzle adventure. Well done to the developer “two tribes”, keep up the great work!

  • Albinopig

Screw this, I want a Swords and Soldiers 2! (it’s the same company)

  • Fresnokila

I have the first game on the Wii and it was a fun puzzler for started out so simple and cute but the puzzles later on will have give your brain a good exercise…

This one has a lot of new mechanics like that bird carrying you ha so I’m surely expecting a good challenge this time around too!

  • Grodus

    ” Toki Tory”

Anyway, Ijust heard of the first one, but, awesome! 🙂

  • joe

looks pretty cool if you ask me….finally no blood. Sorry….but a game doesnt need to be blody to be “good”…

  • jamin

i hate every person who thinks a “good game” has to have violence, gore, and sex in it. go spontaniously combust.

    • Aman

It scares you to think; these people may want gore in their sex and cereal too.

  • ax-el

I don’t play the first one but i don’t like this one, maybe is great but i find it very slow and i don’t want slow game, and not, i not only play violent o mature games, actually i love rpg’s and puzzles i say slow because the bird looks like slow motion, can him run or something?

    • Aman

Can him run or something? Why God, why?

  • SanPharaoh

    This game should be interesting.

    • Auth

They’re not the same restaurant, but both are ppluoar for their own right and make an individual money. The same goes to get Option #3. You could update the content on the old domain and sell similar products that you’re selling on the current site. If you will get both sites to rank alongside each other in the SERPs, you’re boosting your conversion chances and sales potential.
