We’ve known about Tengami for some time now, though developer Nyamyam wasn’t ready to talk about release dates. The game is a new take on the point n’ click adventure genre, as it’s controlled entirely by the touch screen. The charm of the world is the papercraft pop-up presentation, which documents the journey of a lonely Samurai.

Switching from one part of the page to the next in order to complete the path for the Samurai is how the story progresses. As the story unfolds, you’ll find just what has happened to the samurai in order to make him sad.

For those who can’t wait to pick up the title, you can snag it today on iOS. For those who want to experience the lush world of papercraft on the big screen, you’ll have to wait until June. As a side note, composer David Wise handled the soundtrack for the game. You may recognize that name since Wise is also responsible for the soundtrack to Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze.

Everything in a traditional japanese world is cool.
Gotta get that on Wii U <3

Interesting art-style but these 2-D platforms are taking over Wii U. We need something different in likes of new character in a 3-D world collecting and unlocking or something in midst of the Professor Layton series solving puzzles…or both.

My thought Exactly! there is almost only 2D platformers on Wii u its almost like they dont want to make games like 3D platforms on U.

        Sonic Boom is almost here.

Well hopefully we get A Hat In Time

I really miss the old Banjo Kazooie-style collectathons of old.

Early reviews seem to indicate all style, no substance in this game – which doesn’t seem to run with the papercraft-idea as well as titles with similar ideas, like paper mario and tearaway.

I’ll likely pick it up if it’s available for a similar price as the iOS version, though.

I’m not a massive fan of 2D platform games and most of the Wii U games are, but there have been some awesome ones like Rayman Legends and Donkey Country Tropical Country, now there’s this. Look at the art style in this – It looks fantastic! There should be more games with this style. We need Okami 2!!

the first eshop game on the WiiU coming with some appealing art style. I guess they can count me in, if gameplay can hold up.
