Announced a while back, Nintendo has finally released a trailer for it’s free to play game Steel Diver: Sub Wars. The video features a list of the differences between the free and premium versions of the game, but I’ll list the basics below for ease.

Free Version

  • 2 submarines
  • Online and Local Multiplayer
  • few crew members
  • limited customizing options
  • only two single player missions

Premium Version

  • obviously, everything in the free version
  • 16 more submarines for a total of 18
  • 30+ crew members
  • full customization options
  • all single player missions

Are you willing to take the plunge, or will you stay a landlubber?

  • NatT96™

I will go ahead and try this title out.

I’ll be giving it a shot. Steel Diver was a great game and I unlocked everything on there. Depending on the price I’ll go for the paid version.

  • AAAkabob

    It’s not bad.

  • Arthur Jarret

    Nice game, it’s like a slo-mo FPS.
I kinda liked the first one, but it got boring after a while – tho: I shelved it sooner than any other Nintendo game before that (and that includes Doshin… which was a poor man’s black & white)

How much does the premium cost?

    • Jer81

9.95 euro’s. I bought it after 20 rounds online. Funny game.

      • Alex

How come this game has too many errors when it’s entering online.

        • I’m getting that issue too. Hope it gets fixed because it’s annoying. As it’s an issue when forming a group rather than whilst playing the game it might be an issue with their servers. Otherwise it’s a good multiplayer game.

        • Jer81

I’m getting that issue also some times and today all the day. Can’t play online at the moment….. I think the Nintendo servers can’t handle all the traffic this game generates. A free online game, lots of new players within hours. Hope they solve the issue soon.
