With the Wii U version of Splinter Cell: Blacklist finally confirmed for release on August 20th, Ubisoft has finally decided to give us a look at what the GamePad will be capable of once we’re in control of Sam Fisher. Overall I have to give Ubisoft credit, it looks like they’ve finally put the tactical back in the stealth action series that it’s been missing since Chaos Theory.

Color me intrigued and ready for release date, but what about you?

Blacklist and Pikmin 3 in August… Oh boy oh boy 😀

    • Nintedward

August looks set to be chock full of 3DS and Wiiu games.

A delicious month for big N fans. Mucho respect for Ubisoft for supporting the Wii U. Zombi U was a blast and the indie games are gonna keep be busy 🙂

        • Nintedward

ZombiU is a must play experience. Edge of your seat gameplay , you really get attached to your character and you do everything to keep him or her alive!

A delicious month for Big N fans. Mucho respect for Ubisoft for supporting Wii U. I’m still having a blast with Zombi U and the indie games are gonna keep me busy until then 🙂

  • JB

That looks pretty good… I might have to pick that up. If anything it shows that Ubisoft is passionate about the Wii U. They’ve by far been the best at utilizing the gamepad to its potential. If Ubisoft is this good at it, I can’t wait to see what Nintendo really has in store for it concerning its first party titles!

Why does the article say August 20 but the trailer says August 23 release? Anyone else see that?

    • D Moness

august 20th might be the usa release date and the 23rd the eu one (seeing as it is a uk trailer)

      • uPadWatcher

August 20th IS the official USA release date.

    • This is the UK trailer, where the game releases on August 23rd. I could not find the US version of the trailer on Ubisoft’s channel, even though they have all of the European countries individual trailers.

      • All trailers for every country in the EU? I should check Ubisoft site then because I’m 95% certain they don’t have trailers for all countries in Europe, more likely the biggest countries. France, Italy, Germany, Spain, UK etc. But I’ll check it out 🙂

        • Ducked

Well the Ubisoft is in France, so its highly likely.

          • Yes, but still I found it unlikely because most companies refer to Europe as UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, often adds for let’s say Belgium, Danmark or Holland are always skipped, but the above countries/United kingdoms are only 7 countries of Europe from the what 27 or so. And that are only the 27 countries being part of the european union, counting the countries not part of it you’ll end up at 50+ countries so for that I found it unlikely, but I was wrong in this case 🙂

Anyway they actually do have it for every country as they have build something in their website which reconizes the country of origin where the IP adress came from, so when I check I was automatically directed to the Dutch webpage of Spintercell Blacklist.

I found one for you, Ashley K.

  • cdfsdf

    the graphics look like ass…..shameful.

    • How can graphics looks like an anus?
Go back to playing your Boringfield 4

      • bizzy gie

Blandfield 3.5 sixty-dollar DLC released already?

        • sdfsdf

          im a team fortress 2 fan….

      • sdfsdf

because thats how bad the graphics are in this game…..

    • Alex

      It’s a port dummy.

      • sdfsdf

        dont call me a dummy, u swamp-monster-thing

        • Alex

Then don’t act stupid like fanboy.

  • Graphics far better on the Wii U version than on the Xbox 360 and PS3… Again, Ubisoft proves that the Wii U can be as much of a Next gen console as the others

    • Nintedward

That’s unconfirmed , but it SHOULD look better. Although just having a shit load of extra features and Off screen play ensures this is the definitive version.

    • DK_Hadouken

Would everyone stop it with graphics?!
      You’re going to start something…
What matters most is that the freakin’ game looks great and hopefully would be great.

      • I was just pointing out that fact that the Wii U version looks better. To be honest, if it had the same graphics as the other console versions I would care at all, I’m more interested in the gameplay

  • D.M.T

    I love you Ubisoft.

  • Nintendofreak

    loooking good

  • Sergio Terán Contreras

  • Marius Valasinas

Ubisoft are the best. Thank you so much for supporting Nintendo! Wii U version just smashed it again. F**k yeah !!!!

  • person

Ugh… have you seen some of the stupid anti-Nintendo comments on this video’s youtube page?

    • uPadWatcher

The anti-Nintendo comments are from the UK version, but it’s very minimal in the North American clip.

  • bizzy gie

I see other third parties took notes.

  • Holyfire

Sup, just a slight tad confused here. Haven’t followed Splinter Cell since like the original, never really got into it that much. This game looks interesting and might get it for my WiiU. But I actually saw one guy supposedly review the game already on youtube.

Was he just reviewing a pre-release demo?? On that same note he was complaining that Splinter Cell has lost its roots in stealth
Again, that teaser vid looks relatively decent

  • Here we can see another example of how Wii U’s native next-gen-controller makes a difference for the future gaming, not only the raw power or gfx itself. People will soon realize how much it actually changes things.

  • I am not really into shooter/war type games but the game pad features in this game look pretty cool. Not too bad for something the trolls call a useless gimmick

  • Archiq09

I dont know if pro controller can play at this game because when my gamepad is 0% I take my pro controller…

    • Extended battery pack coming soon for the gamepad but I too find myself propping the gamepad propped up on the charging base while playing with the pro controller.

  • Ducked

I’m so buying this no joke. It reminds me of the original 3 splinter cell games which were the best. Graphics and gameplay looks amazing. Thanks ubisoft!

  • val berger

This game may even sell systems.

  • mikeloveswiiu

    picking this up!!!!!

  • I actually just saw this very same trailer on Youtube as an add on a video I was checking 🙂

  • Jason Setley

See the gamepad isnt a gimmick, pre-ordered my copy 🙂
