Over the past few days, the Japanese Splatoon Twitter account has been incredibly active with developers sharing small tidbits about the game. Most recently we saw a batch of screenshots revealed after PAX East, showing off some of the weapons we’ve already seen including the giant paint roller, sniper rifle, and a few others. Now the developers are sharing weapons we’ve not seen in action just yet. The tweets have been translated courtesy of NeoGAF. Here’s what the developers had to say about the Hot Blaster’s style of play: This weapon is the Hot Blaster. Seems like a fireworks launcher – it fires a special ink shell a fixed distance before it detonates. Because it’s an area-of-effect attack, you can hit opponents hiding in cover. The way you approach enemies is gonna be an important part of mastering this weapon. From that description, it seems as though this weapon will function similarly to mortar weapons in that you can aim and hit things very far away from you, but you’re reliant upon others to protect you up close. Check out the video above and let us know what you think of this new weapon. local_offer Nintendo Splatoon wii u stars Further Reading Nintendo doesn't need 3rd parties, says Stardock CEO Earthlock backers will get Switch version if it ever happens Zelda: Breath of the Wild Deluxe guide for $48 on Amazon Splatoon comic coming in English Nintendo shares up 20% since Switch launch What's your dumbest death in Breath of the Wild?
