Long time fans of the Sonic franchise will probably fondly remember the Casino Night stages of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for Genesis. It looks like Sonic Lost World will be revisiting that casino stage, similar to Sonic Generations. You can check out some of the screenshots below showing Sonic dodging dice and yes, there’s even a huge slot machine.

A few other stages are shown in the screenshot bunch, including Silent Forest and Desert Ruins. Let us know what you think of the shots in the comments below!

If it plays like Sonic Generations, then I’m all in. I really liked that game from start to finish.

    • Andrew

it actually plays different than Generations
here’s what you need to know about the gameplay:

      there is no boost.

instead, you hold forward to walk, then hold down one trigger to run, then hold down the other trigger to preform a spindash.

also, there is parkor. As long as you are running, when you hit a object that isn’t to tall, sonic will automaticlly “parkor” over it. but if the object IS too tall, then when you run into the object, sonic will begin to run up the side of the object for a few seconds, untill he gets tired. And you can also run on walls, but I’m not all that sure how this is preformed

Also, the Wisps from Sonic Colors are back, giving you new abilitys and returning some old, but I won’t detail them for you for the sake of my time.

Sorry if I insulted your intelligence there, just thought I’d go all out in my explaination.

I was implying Generations was good, and if it’s as good as Generations, I’ll buy it in a heartbeat…

And the Wisps were in Generations, at least in the Colors levels.

        • Andrew

          Okay, my bad. lol.

      • Anthony San Juan

        And no classic physics. 😛

  • Ducked

  • atl hawks

I just love this art style of this game. I hope the use it for future installments, instead of realistic sonic like 06 and unleashed.

  • John Smith

    It’s releasing on October 22nd!

    • Maxid765

Damn gotta beat generations by the end of this summer (Yea I know I’m late XP) and buy a wii u w/ this game and WWHD this holiday season!!

  • XroyD

    Gotta Love CASINO levels!

  • Justin Blantey

I’m still hoping for a Classic Sonic spin-off game in the future. A separate story line. Why can’t Modern Sonic and Classic have their own games?

    • Patrick Francis

They released 2 classic sonic games recently. Sonic IV: Episode 1(2010) and Sonic IV: Episode 2(2012) and they were amazing.

    • Sora Morp

they did but sonic 4 sucked

  • Kyle

I want to play this game more than I wanto to play 3D World

  • audi lover

Different issue by why has earhbound been released on vc but I cant download in UK and why has nintendo upped the price to £6.99 thats a £1.50 mark up on usual snes prices, nintendo you need to lower your prices not up them you idiots

    • Eli Schimunow

hey its better then $200+ dollers.

  • Robert Butters

Are these in-game screen shots? The graphics look awesome. Especially the round edges. Is this because Sega has more experience with HD?

    • Sora Morp

      they are in game

    • Luffy

      its because sega kick ass!

    • boynhisblobs

The game does look that good in person too!

  • YayGs

Awesome, I loved Casino Night, but now it’s going to be rated Teen for Simulated Gambling. (that was supposed to be a low quality joke)

  • Sora Morp

awesome since i liked the casino levels in heroes

  • Antar Rodríguez

LOL there is ALWAYS a casino level in every sonic game i played so far its like a mandatory stage nowadays for this franchise, the only ones that dont have one are the storybook series

    • NkoSekirei

except u dont get robbed by eggman by going into the slot machine on the casino level on sonic the hedgehog 2 trying to gamble my rings for a jackpot for more rings

  • Cube

I wish SEGA can just make a completely 2D sonic and I thought Sonic Colors was bad.

    • Andrew

They do. It’s called “Sonic the Hedgehog 4 episode 1” and 2

  • Luffy

    i want this game NOW!

  • Metal_Man_v2

I wasn’t very impressed with this at first but between the new trailer and these screenshots it’s starting to look a lot better. The different level designs are cool but also familiar. I still think the villains are underwhelming though… but that’s just me.

    • boynhisblobs

I got a chance to play it yesterday at comic con at the Sega Arcade and it’s really, really cool. The 3ds version is scaled down comparison for sure, but the wii u version was amazing! My wife thought it was ps4 or xbox one at first (shes not too into games) because the graphics looked that good.
The gameplay is surprisingly really varied. One level was very “mario galaxy” in presentation while another was kinda “NSMB meets Crash Bandicoot”. Overall, the experience is really fresh and unique for a sonic game. I think this might be the next generation sonic everyone’s been looking for or at least sonic fans.
Also, the boss fight I encountered….difficult for a sonic game. Not the hardest thing ever, but still challenging.
