If you’re interested in picking up a racing game for the Wii U at launch, you pretty much have one choice: SEGA’s Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed. While that may not sound like a big deal when it comes to racing games, the first Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed gameplay trailer looks quite impressive. It’s basically like Mario Kart with Sonic + you get to race on water, in the air, and even in space. Players can use a variety of SEGA characters, including Sonic, AiAi from Super Monkey Ball, B.D. Joe from Crazy Taxi, and Doctor Eggman/Robotnik from Sonic. The game will be out on the Wii U and other platforms this November. Check out the full gameplay trailer below, but be prepared for some serious, fist-pumping dubstep music.

    Yay! Sonic Kart! XD

    • Lixdy

The game sordove looks like diddy kong racing and mariokart mixed 2gether

    • BluChuChu

It’s really a lot different from mario kart mechanically. In the last sega racing game, I was pretty much turned off by the way drifting worked. You pretty much had to utilize drift in order to win, or you would just suck up a storm. I like mario kart because drift is completely optional and you aren’t penalized for not using it.

    • liberalagenda

Eh. Not my thing. Mario cart looks more fun.

    • zam

      is anyone gonna get that?

  • Nintendude789

It says it’ll realese on November 16th. Possible Wii U reslese dat?

    • Alienfish

Yeah! I was thinking the same thing! Two days sooner than expected is that much better if you ask me.

      • Lixdy

do u think it will be realeased in aus at around te same as china and usa

      • TACOMAN

You have to keep in mind that it is also coming out on other consoles.
So, that is probably the date for Xbox and PS3.

    • Dave w

It doesn’t say anything about the wii u though…

    • nadine

this may be true but notice at the bottom of the release date where it says platformes it is releasing for it does not say the wii u at this time …….sorry for spelling not my best subject lol.

  • Yoshi33

This game looks really fun, a cool twist for a racing game.

    • wiiufanatic

      plus it looks awesome
you have to admit. but i wont buy it untill i see mario kart u

  • Mikey

Probably won’t be as good as Mario Kart, but racing games rarely are.

  • Ricardo

Hey, on IGN, writer Daniel Krupa gave a preview of the Wii U version of this game. He gives off some details as how the Wii U controller will work with the game:

I’m so pumped for this game, and Wii U! I’m also glad that SUMO, the developer for this game treats the Wii U tablet with respect,, and puts it to good use, instead of using it I’m a gimmicky way. 🙂

    • Chris01

what ‘s your definition of a gimmicky way ?

      • Alienfish

Replacing a button command with a swipe or tap on the touchpad would be a gimmick. Something useful, like swiping downward to move your game from the main screen to the controller (which is confirmed for this game) would not be. Basically using the touchpad because you can instead of because you should.

      • Ricardo

Basically half-assing your work, and not making the controller useful. When it is not useful, that is what makes people call the controller a gimmick. :/

  • Big N

Not too bad. Great for party game.

  • Mr.device

Looks cool, although It resembles mariokart7 a WHOLE lot. But yea looks cool. 😀

    • Alienfish

There was another article on IGN (I think?) where the dev behind this game was kind of ticked that Nintendo beat them to the punch with that and they’ve had this thing cooking since before MK7 was announced.

  • Nintendonoob

This Gameplay trailer looks really good. I just really hope that the Wii U will have exclusive features like… the race map on the Gamepad, the race time, if there are items the item will be on the touch screen and you can either touch a button and the item activates or touch the touchscreen and if its a projectile it will show the projectiles flight on the gamepad. In my opinion this is a good idea because there will be alot more space on the tv and the screen would not have alot of stuff on it. The gamepad will change gaming forever for me because of that. I hope Nintendo put a patent on this so Phony and Suckersoft cant have super awesome gameplay like that with crossplay and smartglass.

    • Ricardo

In this game, in a behind closed-door demo for Wii U, a person at IGN said that the item appears on the tablet screen. 🙂

  • Kyron

Did I just see a Sega styled Rainbow Road?!

    • CandCmen

It seems to be Starlight Carnival. A stage in Sonic Colors.

      • Kyron

        Oh…….nice. Sounds interesting.

      • BluChuChu

Funny, was playing sonic colors the other day, and was like, “starlight carnival? looks a lot like rainbow road. O.O “

  • colin c

Billy Hatcher better be in this one or else I’m not buying it! :p

  • Madmagican

Doesn’t look too bad, but I’m still trying to figure out why… Sonic’s in a car?

    • Sikora

      Sonic can’t fly.

    • Your Mom

Because if he was running eventually he would hit the speed of sound and that would be unfair to the other characters and or players.

  • SUperMetroid1234

Nothing will ever beat Mario Kart. Ever. I’ll eat my hat if something does.

    • Sikora

Nothing will beat Mario Kart Double Dash. This can beat the last 3 MK games.

  • Maverick-Hunter

sonic is fast so fast that in order for everyone to keep up he and everyone else uses a car, which is why he is using a car. I’ve heard sonic be quoted as “the fastest thing alive” well honestly I’ve followed sonic all the way too generations and I yet to see proof of him being the fastest thing alive. So I shall end my comment by saying The Flash is the fastest thing alive sped force ftw :3

  • Sikora

I’m getting this for the PS3. Been looking forward to it since its announcement.

  • Hi8us

The game looks amazingly dazzling to the eye with lots of bright colors and flashing lights. I hope the game play is as exciting as the the presentation.

  • Ocarina Of Time

you know sonic can just be jogging right next to all these fuckers right? 😛
he doesnt need a car but this racing game is really interesting, i will more than likely get it.

  • Mac

you know what would really be great? if they use the wii u controller is a steering wheel since it has a gyroscope in it. that would make it pretty boss.

  • XDLugia

Argh! Dubstep can go to hell! Is this the future of game music? DUBSTEP???

  • D2K

A little bit of Mario kart, a little bit of Hydro Thunder, and a little bit of F-Zero. It’ll be a fun party game to have around as as previously mentioned by others.

  • Mateus Palamecia

Wait a minute… at 44 seconds, is that… is that Gilius Thunderhead from Golden Axe?

    • Ebtsam

I am also doing the 30 day challenge. I have rpcealed the resistance band with 5 lb weights and every work out leaves me winded and sweaty. I haven’t lost any weight yet, but I’m not surprised, it’s a little early. I’m really enjoying it so far. It is fun.

  • GirlGamer

4 Me Mario Kart 8 Will Be Most Amusing. Not Sonic All Stars Racing! Mann Sega Cannot Stop ƚħiƂ

  • Your Mom

Dang the graphics will be amazing on the wii u! And I think this will be better then the first game.

    • Gems

if you mean like a cannon ball siplme jump, and whilst in mid air hold down the arrow on the remote that points towards you (horizontally down arrow whilst jumping in mid air)

  • link

i was surprised to see the guy from crazy taxi

  • joe

And just announced Shemmue 1,2,3! Wait, I must have a delusional moment for a second….

  • Johny

looks cool… but you cant hide the fact that switching from road to gliding (flying) and on water and stuff is kinda a WHOLE LOT the concept of MK7 xD

  • JammeRs

    i know what I’m getting

  • Emuladores
