We’ve been excited about Shovel Knight since it was successfully Kickstarted more than a year ago. The game was originally supposed to be released on March 31, but developer Yacht Club Games announced a few weeks before that date that the game would be delayed by a few weeks in order to make sure all versions launch simultaneously with as few issues as possible. We still don’t have an official release date for the game yet, but Yacht Club Games took to Twitter to annouce they finally have a build for submission to Nintendo. It's done! Yacht Club Games is happy to announce that we have a final submission candidate for Shovel Knight. — Yacht Club Games (@YachtClubGames) May 5, 2014 Depending on how long the Q&A process from Nintendo takes, we could see Shovel Knight available soon. More indies! Michael Hancock More Art! The rare for the rare. slush_puppie giggity! it’s been a long wait, but i’m sure it’ll be worth every minute. better to have a delayed game than a rushed game. Sylux That applies to AAA titles not to indies… Then again a rushed indy doesn’t do the trick either I suppose. slush_puppie it applies to all software. if it’s not ready, it shouldn’t be released. i’m super stoked to stomp some baddies with a shovel! 🙂 Sylux haha true that, of all indies this game, the Cave and Trine 2 imo are the best so far, Child of Light can’t really call that an indy I suppose. Super yoshi Sylux your comments have so much to give… You clearly have no idea about software, indie, indie games, development cycle or anything even related to any of those. Stop! btw. “That applies to AAA titles not to indies…” was the stupidest thing ive read from internet for a while. Grats I suppose. Sylux Nope you are right that I know nothing of software development and indie titles + development cycles. In all honestly I can’t say I care much for indie games in general as for me they pretty much all fall under casual games I can play on my smartphone, but can’t be bothered with in the first place. In my own defense try to get my comments with a grain of salt. Like Magnus, I too am sarcastic. Offcourse a delayed game is eventually a good game while a bad game stays bad forever, and obviously that also applies to indie games, try to lighten up a bit and take it with a laugh. Yes, I’m not a software developer, but I have a lot of experience in coding and writhing in code although it’s for websites not for games, games is obviously a whole different level, and I know that far better then you would expect. Just read my senseless comments with a sarcastic perspective next time. Or don’t rewd my comments at all that s up to you my friend. Super yoshi I have to argue that anyone looking at someones comment that states things but are based on nothing, will be either missleaded or pissed off depending of their own knowledge base. I was too attacking while pointing this out but you have understand that I never heard of your nick before so I cant take your comments as a “grain of salt” without you explaining it. Its only internez, nothing serious even if it sometimes seems like it. Yoshifan3 omg lol, it would be nice if you guys didnt just read the forum and take credit for posting news when we get post the news first on the forum. greengecko007 Did the forum members contact Yacht Club Games directly to get this information? Probably not. News is meant to be spread, it’s insignificant who gets the information first. Roadkill409 As long as the price is right, I will be getting this game. DoctorFart Finally!!! Can’t wait to pick this up ! Donaald They’ve hyped this game since February 2013, is it really out this time? Derek Shovel knight is one of the few indies I am looking forward to playing. classicgamer20 Finally I’ve been waiting for this game for too long. I usually don’t care for indie games but this one one actually looks good. Bob Charlie Finally! The Indie I’ve been looking forward to all year. Since March 31, this has been the longest “few weeks” I’ve had to wait for a game in recent times. Someone Cool An 8 bit side scroller…so excited. /s Austin Cabrera So Austin Cabrera What is this game Andrew Gonzalez Been waiting for this. FIreproof_actual more like “Shovel ware”…amirite…?? Pablo Lavín This Shovel Knight guy is a pro, you know, he is making his way to many indie games, like that ”kart” one with Lobodestroyo, with the Strategy Game with el Luchador, Two Brothers and many more…Maybe a assistant trophy for Smash 5…. Terrance Lynch This game will stink, unless you are a mega man fanatic.
