Precursor games have announced that the Shadow of the Eternals crowdfunding campaign that they shut down last month will be relaunched on July 25th. It was evident the team was not going to meet their lofty $1.3 million goal, so now Precursor Games has created a poll to ask what platform fans would prefer to see the game available on.

COO Denis Dyack previously mentioned that he was considering the Xbox One as a development platform, but currently the Wii U is winning the poll at over 50% of the votes. If you’re interested in seeing this game on the Wii U, head on over to the official website and vote now. We’ll likely hear more about intended platforms once the Kickstarter has officially relaunched.

  • You might want to mention that you have to be a member of their forums before you can vote. Which is complete bullshit. One shouldn’t have to join a forum just to post in a single poll.

    • FoxMulder900

I disagree, it weeds out people who don’t really care and are voting just because they like the platform, not because they plan to buy the game.

      • Michael Jurado

that’s a very good point I never thought of it like that

    • Michael Jurado

I thought signing up was going to be a pain but, all they do is tie it with twitter/facebook/other social media making it fairly easy to sign up ^_^

    • You do have a good point. But now I don’t get to vote because I am not signing up to a website I’ll never use just to vote in one poll. And I refuse to link my social media pages to anything. Social Media has ruined anonymity on the internet. Which was the entire purpose and point behind the internet to begin with. Was to anonymously voice your opinions. Facebook has ruined that. But I won’t rant anymore about that here.
Anyway, hopefully it is released on Wii U. It should remain a Wii U exclusive. If Nintendo was smart they’d pick up publishing rights. And a VC release of ED would also be great. I still have my GCN copy but I’d buy it again on VC just to have instant access to it.

      • FoxMulder900

I totally agree with you on social media. I rarely link anything to my Facebook, and I rarely use my Facebook.

Also I think it’s worth noting that if you contributed to their previous crowdfunding campaign, you already have an account on their site.

        • kaygivs

weird… i rarely use my facebook and i link it with everything

  • D.M.T

The game should be a Wii U and PC exclusive.

    • Nintedward

Yep. It was so annoying when Sony and Xbox drones were saying ”put this on our platforms derp” Coming from the idiots who never had a Gamecube or Eternal Darkness…

But, if they did put it on Wiiu, PC, PS4 and Xbox One… Maybe that would encourage more people to fund the kickstarter which in turn would ensure a Wiiu version!

    • Geoffrey Tasker

it would have been if fans actually funded it…since they didn’t, can’t be helped

      • Lusunup

To be honest they asked for way to much.

  • t3g

Hopefully we also get an Eternal Darkness HD version prior to the launch of this game for the younger crowd or those that didn’t own a Gamecube.

    • Michael Jurado

Sounds like a job for the VC 😀 hopefully Nintendo will speed things up a bit and start uploading Gamecube games right?

  • Michael Jurado

Just voted for the Wii U ^^ pushing it too 62%

  • TULFich

Seriously? fuckbox 1? why? MS console doesnt even deserve this kind of games, cuz they just fuck up devs! Besides Eternal Darkness was Ninti so it makes more sense to be there. As for I care of PC ver. it is great, it fits cuz PC has lots of games (somehow) like that.

  • The Clockwork Being

SO the spiritual successor to a gamecube ONLY game goes on the crapbox 1 WTF. Just make this a Wii U exclusive and PC and then put Eternal Darkness on the Virtual Console.

    • Michael Jurado

I hope it stays with Nintendo I don’t mind if it goes for PC >.> but if this game so much as touches the xboxone I will riot >_<

      • The Clockwork Being

I don’t mind PC too since the revenue on PC could be big with it being on stuff like Steam. But on consoles I only want it on Wii U.

    • Nintedward

16:9 Eternal darkness on the gamepad with Off tv play!

      • Nintyfan

Wii U version=the best. I can’t wait to see how they will make use of the Gamepad features. The controller is going to make an interesting game play and crazy sanity effects.

        • The Clockwork Being

TBH if they wanted it to be to its full capacity they should have just asked NIntendo to be publisher. Nintendo did publish they’re first game so why not. It would be way better than Kickstarter.

Edit: YES the sanity effect used with the gamepad could be hilarious. Example:

On the T.V it randomly says to look at the gamepad for a certain fonction. You look and baa,m a screamer just pops up right there on the gamepad, scaring the shit out of you.

      • The Clockwork Being

        In the dark+in complete+silence+home alone+playing on the gamepad=http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=H.4658090700047134&pid=1.7

Edit: oh and it would look awesome. Maybe it would to much to ask but if they did it in HD then im all for but even the standard version will be awesome.

    • grandlx2

It was a Nintendo system exclusive.. and as we know, third party games don’t sell on Nintendo systems, exclusive or not. Nintendo buyers only buy Nintendo games. Nintendo has too many sheeps.

      • Adrian Brown

that’s not true. I have Nintendo Land (which came with the console), Zombi U, Sonic ASRT, MH3U, Batman ACAE, and Trine 2. How many of those games are Nintendo games?

  • JeanPaul Badjo

If they want to make the game why don’t they just make it instead of trying to get kickstarted??

  • Ducked

Sorry but I’m not signing up on that site just to vote one time.

At least Wii U is winning with over 60%

    • you can just link it with facebook or whatever. takes like 2 seconds

      • Wayne Beck

Thanks for the heads up.. Wii U is crushing it over there lol.

  • Geoffrey Tasker

on another note: I started a petition on change.org to get Ultra Street fighter 4 on wii u! please support it! http://www.change.org/petitions/capcom-ultra-street-fighter-iv-for-wii-u

    • Ben Wilson

Just wait until Hyper Ultra Street Fighter 4 Arcade Edition 2 is out.

  • Made an account just to vote. Just like the rest of us >.>

  • Justis Bistawros

The wii u is just getting bullshited this should be a wii u exclusive.
It’s so unbelievable that the xfuckbone and the pshit4 are getting so much attention.

  • It should come to all platforms, but the PC and Wii U should have it first as a timed exclusive. My opinion though.

  • Mark Thom

    WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U WII U GO VOTE http://www.precursorgames.com/forums/index.php?threads/what-system-would-you-most-likely-buy-shadow-of-the-eternals-on.2250/

  • Potemkin

Nintendo should make a sequel/prequel of Eternal Darkness and call it Eternal Darkness >:(

  • Thomas Fitzgibbon

    Don’t you dare Precursor Games…DON’T…YOU…DARE!!!

  • starwars360

Wii U need this game. But if not then put it on Xbox One. 🙂

  • Adrian Brown

65.6% on Wii U. Take that, bitches 😀

  • Spike Ashford

Well I LOVE Eternal Darkness. It’s the second greatest horror game I’ve ever played. But with the quality of Silicon Knight’s games after it being on the same level as drinking cancer, I’m not exactly excited for this. And yes, I know Precursor and Silicon are not the same developer, but Dennis Dyack is still on the project. And that scares me.

On the other hand, it’s another Lovecraft inspired game. And by the Esoteric Order of Dagon, we NEED more games based around the Cthulhu Mythos!

Crapbox, drones and whatever descriptions that goes around out there is really getting annoying. Im 28 years old, and i gamed the hell out of the NES, snes, 64 and so forth. My Pc is doing alot of good as well, when it comes to gaming and freelance work. I really cheer the posibility to be able to game, and see how the gaming moves with technology. What i dislike though, is that big parts of the evergrowing gaming communities, acts like the stereotypical unsecure kid, who need to hold on to a subculture to keep a individual form of identity. What i mean is “what is up with the rant and flame wars” Like there is something wrong with the interest of buying a xbox one or ps4. I preordered the wiiu, got 12 games + the virtual console and indie games. And i certainly have a connection with the nintendo brands i grew up with. But im buying a xbox one as well. Im looking forward to destiny and titansfall. No dmr and a win8 based center, would benefit my livingroom quite well. The idea of a wiiu hooked up in one room, and another console in another, really makes my old nerdhearth happy. It would be nice, if Nintendo had used a better marketing strategy for the wiiU and put out some better launch titles. That is not the case, and there is no need to rant on other upcomming systems for it. After a year as a owner, im really looking forward to the upcomming games, but that counts other consoles as well. I need my zelda, metroid and mario fix.
