Despite Resident Evil: Revelations being made available on other platforms, it looks like Capcom is putting decent work into making sure those who get the Wii U version will have extra functionality. Most notably from the trailer are off-tv play, as well as some sort of Miiverse integration that resembles how Dark Souls players are able to leave messages in each other’s worlds. This feature will most likely be a toggle, but it’s still interesting to see some of the drawings from the trailer from players who died by the very same monster that just ate your face.

Resident Evil: Revelations will be releasing on May 21st.

One of my list of must-buys. I’ve been playing the Resident Evil games since the first on the PS1, and the idea of the series going back to it’s roots is an appealing one – and this looks to be the best version, too 🙂

You never played it on 3DS ? What a game. If Resident evil 4 was a 9.5/10 then this is a 9/10 by comparison. It’s the closest you’l get to Resi 4 and it actually feels like a proper Resi game also.

I loved it on 3DS and I can’t wait to play it again on Wiiu. I sold my 3DS copy and got half my money back so I have no hesitation downloading the Wiiu version also!

      • Zombie Boy

I never played it on the 3DS. I always held out hope that, in some way, it’d make it to a home system… And now it has! I saw it on YouTube though, and it looked great! Kinda reminded me of Resident Evil: Dead Aim, which nobody else seems to have played…

Just like the original Nintendo 3DS title, the Wii U version of Resident Evil: Revelations is most definitely off the chain. The new play control and off-TV play using the Game Pad and the overall fun factor will be like playing the first Resident Evil game on PSOne– a masterpiece reborn.

The Wii U is going to be the copy of Revelations you want to buy the controller map and door puzzles really add that needed extra freshness to these survival horror games and gives the whole play-through a nice flow feeling things like this is why the Wii U will eventually sell more games than the 720 and ps4 if the 3rd party game is available for all 3 at the same price you get that added extra experience with the Nintendo now if they can build a online experience equal to that of Live it will be unstoppable

    • Zuxs13

Umm its not on 720 or PS4.

      • clairvius

Wasn’t talking about RE Revelations talking about the future games that the Wii U will share with the 720 and PS4 i should have put a (.) i guess it was a different statement than the first thats why i said (eventually) and (if the 3rd party game is available for all 3) sorry about any confusion

It’ll definitely bring the survival horror genre to the next generation. Hopefully Capcom will take that formula and help revive the genre they helped popularized, then ruined

  • Clel

I think my nerves would crack.

    • TANKJR

That’s great and all but where is the demo?

      • uPadWatcher

Patience… the demo will be coming this month.

  • Anthony K Aurelia

I didn’t want to have to download this one..oh well I really want it so I’ll deal…

    • Zombie Boy

      I’m sure it won’t be download only…

  • Austin Troth

Okay hold up I still have a few questions. Does this offer local coop on raid mode with one player on the gamepad and one on the TV? I own the 3ds version but that would probably make me get this version. And is there voice chat using the gamepad or mic? The 3ds version didn’t have this either.

  • Denvy

Even if there was nothing different in terms of GamePad game play, the fact that it would support off TV play is reason alone it’s the best version.

  • Ducked

The 3DS version was amazing, can’t wait for Wii U version. Only downside is a lot of people still don’t know about this game.

  • ZakAttack7

Dat trailer. And more importantly, dat ass. Zak approves, slick, cool trailer that makes the Wii U look good and reminds us what an awesome, true survival horror game this is. Well played, Capcom 😉

  • D.M.T

I will buy this for sure. The last Resident Evil game I played was RE4 on GameCube.

    Must buy.

  • First WiiU game I’ve getting this year.

  • Johny

the 3ds version is AMAZING .. and even tho it came out at the beggining of 3ds’s life cycle, it still looks visually better than most games… just bravo capcom. you really know how to make 3ds games… same with monster hunter 3 ultimate… now JUST please PROPERLY port the game on wii u… not like monster hunter 3 ultimate, which well.. its noticably ported poorly… its a lazy port.. its still my favourite game on wii u !! OMG its SOO GOOD … but things like low definition textures .. which i understand.. you just upscaled a 3ds version…. but you could ATLEAST optimize the framerate, which is noticable that it doesnt run smooth + there are some big occasional framerate drops. its annoying, because the 3ds version runs SILKY PERFECT smooth steady framerate.

  • Hmmm, watch the Next Xbox conference or Play endless hours of Resident Evil: Revelations on my Wii U…. we all know who wins here 😀

Resident Evil Revelations, I WILL BEAT YOU!!

  • B3NN-TH3-B3AR

Like how they are using the gamepad cant wait

  • Andrew Gonzalez

Looks like I’m buying this a second time :P, it’s so worth it.

  • Nintendofreak

  • AAAkabob

“Kiss me! it won’t hurt, I promise.” lol I sorta want it just for that featureXD

  • RyuNoHadouken

dope! I was getting this version anyway, but its nice to know ill be having some exclusive features with it!!

  • “how you will play next” seems to have a subtle amount of aggression when you say it out loud…?

  • Ace J

i can not wait for this to drop. i love resident evil but hated 5 and was disappointed 6. the fact that this one has a old RE feel to it is a day 1 buy for me.

  • palomino blue

I haven’t played a Res since 4 and don’t have a 3DS. This one might be worth it on the Wii U.

  • Love that miiverse integration
