Nintendo of America has sent out a reminder that the E3 Nintendo Direct will be available next week. After the video, Nintendo President Reggie Fils-Aime will be letting us know which four games will have playable demos at select Best Buy locations across the country:

After the video, Reggie will announce the four Wii U games that will be available during the Nintendo Experience at Best Buy on Nintendo’s social media channels. Fans can play these unreleased games at select locations around the country.

We expect Pikmin 3 and The Wonderful 101 to comprise at least two of those demos, but what would you like to see playable? Let us know in the comments.

Obviously Mario Kart U and Super Smash Bros. U

    • CEObrainz

Can’t wait to see the new Smash Bros. Big things are going to happen when that’s released.

      • Mason742

I just hate how i have this feeling that LoZ:WW and Mario Kart U are going to be fillers to tie us over for the long time it will take to develop the New Zelda, 3D Mario, Bayonetta 2, and Super Smash Bros.

        • CEObrainz

Well Nintendo taking their time will also mean the quality is at it’s best. However I’m sure that there will be plenty of games to keep you occupied before the big hitters come out.

        • RockGod

You shouldn’t hate the feeling, most of the games you listed will be finished in the not too distant future… Mario Kart U, Wind Waker HD, and Super Mario U will probably all be released likely in that order before the end of the year. Then look for Bayonetta 2 followed by Super Smash Bros. U early next year.
New Zelda on Wii U…. holiday next year at the earliest. It’s going to be a long wait for that one.

        • Jorge Aguirre

I agree the first thing that came to mind was Legend of Zelda Wind Waker was going to be one of the demos, I doubt Mario Kart will be the second one since Nintendo hasn’t really said anything about it, so in my mind it can’t be Smash Bros, can’t be Mario Kart, hmm, so if I was right what would the 4th one be?

    • miiandmario

      I hope

    • Alestar

I think it is all about the project “X” to be honest c:

      • Mason742

Well its hard to show consumers games like project X. I am not saying it won’t be a demo, It’s just in my honest opinion they would show other games that have a relatively easy learning curve.

    • zdog

The only thing we’ll see from smash bros is a trailer. Expect Mario Kart and the new 3D mario.

      • CapnCrumbles436

    • CapnCrumbles436

Uh no. I swear you guys get yourselves WAY over hyped. You are going to be let down if you set your standards sky high. Been through many many E3s, if there is one thing I have learned it is this: Expect very little and you will be pleased.

  • Wayne Beck

My Money is on MarioKart, SSB, Bayonetta and Retro’s Game.

    • RockGod

I like your choices! Since we’re gonna be completely unrealistic in making our picks… here’s my Dreamlist..
X, Metroid Prime 4, Bayonetta 2, and New Zelda U …cause… why not?

      • Wayne Beck

        lol, What can I say, I’m a dreamer. =D

    • zerooooo

I can tell you, you already lost money have ssb in that list. lol get real

  • Saleh Sbeiti

Only 4? So no Lost Worlds, Yarn Yoshi or Pikmin. They’ll probably just have Mario 3D, Luigi U, Mario Kart and Smash. Because those are gonna be the most popular.

  • Wind Waker HD.

  • Ice Climbers

Pikmin 3, Wind Waker HD, Mario Kart, and Wonderful 101 are the most likely as much as I would want Smash to be one of the games.

    • RockGod

I guessed the exact same 4 games you did! I’m truly shocked that they omitted Mario Kart and put Luigi U on the list instead.
This means two things to me. 1. Mario Kart will probably come out later in the year than I expected and 2. Zelda: Wind Waker HD will be releasing earlier than I expected.
Still Luigi U seems an odd choice for early demo with it having so much in common with the already available Mario U.

  • Squirrel09

Wonderfull 101 will be one of them (everyone seems to forget about it…)

    • Robknoxious1

      Wonderful 101 looks great.

TBH I kinda expect W101 and Pikmin 3 to be two of the four but I hope I’m wrong.

Why? Because those were supposed to both be launch window games. We’ve seen the footage of both repeatedly and will be able to play them soon enough. Heck they could offer those demos on e-Shop anytime now I would think.

I hope they go with newer titles that weren’t at last year’s E3. Maybe Mario Kart U, the new Mario 3D game, Wind Waker HD, and – if they really wanna blow our minds – the new Retro Game or X.

      • RockGod

Think about it man, E3 is less than a week away. The demos are going to obviously be titles that are nearly finished products… in other words they’ll be available to purchase soon after E3. Some of the games you mentioned will be available before the year’s end, but are still not far enough along for a full playable demo yet.
X is nowhere near done. 3D Mario and Mario Kart will be out but later in the year. Your fears are about to be confirmed with an extra kick to the gut as well. The 4 games that will be demoed are Pikmin 3, The Wonderful 101, Zelda: Wind Waker HD, and… here it comes… Luigi U. I don’t really know why, it can’t show off any features that Mario U hasn’t. It just seems an odd choice, I would have picked something else for a demo, but I’m sure all the games will be great, they’ll just all be out in a few months.

  • ChiwawaBoi

I like the idea of playable demos at best buy, but i’d rather have them on eshop.

    • zerooooo

Lol that defeats the whole objective. The point is to get people who dont know about the system and see these great games as a reason to buy a console.

      • Lassassino

For sure, that’s totally reasonable but why not both?

        • ChiwawaBoi

I know right? it totally beats having to stand up and rushed by the person behind you. theres only one best buy where I live, and I already know 20 people personally thats gonna be there.

    • CapnCrumbles436

LOL They’ve already got your purchase. They are trying to raise product awareness and peddle hardware.

  • Zuxs13

Hmmm a company has never madr E3 playable demos available outside of the showroom floor until now. They are doing it as advertising (just like the E3 event is) and everyone bitches because they can’t play them at home! Do we really need any more proof this generation is spoiled!

    • Jorge Aguirre

Well I don’t think that’s fair, think about how many people are going to go to Bestbuy and hog the Wii U’s there to play the demos, I wan’t them to be available because unfortunately my Bestbuy isn’t going to be participating and I’m sure there’s people out there who have similar situations, or they don’t live near a Bestbuy specially people outside the US, I’m thinking of other people too that’s not being spoiled and I have a legit predicament that others might have too.

      • Zuxs13

Why is that not fair? Its been that way since 1995. I don’t get to test drive IOS 7 or something during apples conference in the comfort of my own home, I have to get off my lazy ass and go there. If I can’t then I have to watch videos and be patient until it comes out in the market.
I don’t want them to give me demos at home it would be a disaster, I want them to get the demos and videos to as many people as possible in a way that attracts them to buying the console, not to people who already bought it.

      • CapnCrumbles436

It’s not a predicament. Are you healthy? You got food? Water? Clothes? A roof? Consider yourself blessed son. I like to play games too, but let’s keep a proper perspective on things πŸ˜‰ If you miss a little demo, you be just fine.

  • disqus_qor9mfFO2M

Here’s what I saw at the Best Buy across the street from where I live (sorry if the photo is sideways)

    • ZProdigy17

As much as I want to play Smash Bros, Wonderful 101 is one of the games I’m on the fence about so I’d rather get to try that. I know I’m buying Smash Bros. either way.

      • Mason742

I feel like three of those games arent user friendly too people that wouldn’t understand the gamepad. Pretty much people who only bought the Wii and game on nothing else but an ipad would only know how to play Super Luigi U.

    • Jack5221

No Mario Kart? πŸ™ At least we get Pikmin!! πŸ˜€

    • Pikachief

Oh sadness. I was hoping for an unannounced game D: oh well! Pikmin would be fun. That and maybe W101 are the only ones I feel interested in though, im not sure if its worth the drive and wait anymore…

    • RockGod

Oh boy, I don’t think they meant to leak this info just yet. It probably won’t hurt them but now Reggie’s announcement after the ND won’t be as anticipated as it was going to be.
Zelda: Wind Waker HD, Wonderful 101,and Pikmin 3 are great choices but i’m not sure why they went with Luigi U. Don’t get me wrong, I plan to get all these games, but their trying to show off new experiences and Luigi U simply put is Mario U played using a different character, just seems an odd choice for a promotion such as this.

    • Madmagican

Well there ya go the confirmed titles
…unless they vary at different Best Buys

    • Maxid765

You live at wheaton!! nice I live relatively close to that town

    • CapnCrumbles436

Only for 4 hours of the day??? πŸ™ Uhh I doubt I will be able to push past all the young peubescents to get in there.

  • Nostalgic_Chaos

That’s all good and well, but what about other Western countries such as the UK (where I’m from) who don’t have Best Buys? πŸ™

    • Chris Heskin

well maybe they will surprise us with an eshop demo perhaps? *fingers crossed*

      • Flip Macleod

One can hope. I think Nintendo is smart enough to not only toss out these four demos at different locations, but also surprise people afterwards too. For years they have given us some great things with little heads up beforehand, I wouldn’t put it past them to continue doing so.

  • Maxid765

I would like to see Mario Kart, Sonic lost world, Bayonetta, Super Smash Bros if a playable demo will be available, if not I’d like to see either X or wind waker HD for that final slot.

  • Bradbatross

Why does everyone think it’s going to be Smash Bros. There isn’t going to be a playable demo at e3 so there isn’t going to be a playable demo at Best Buy.

    • Guest

Maybe they will surprise us with an eshop demo perhaps? *fingers crossed*

    • iceazeama

thats a no brainer, beacause the smash bros fanbase is fucking retarded, theyt think the games will be out by this year!!!! its like ddduuuhhhh!!!!!!

  • Steve

Forget the demos. I want te real thing.

  • Aqua Team

Smash Bros? Get real lol Mario Kart U is an obvious but 4th idk maybe mario 3d U or Dream Team

  • papermariodude101

I want to play *clears throat to prepare announcer voice* SUPER SMASSSSSSHHHHH BROOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSSSSSSSS!!! …FOR WII U!

  • iceazeama

looks like hes saying “shit”!!!! (buckles up pants) (cameras start rolling) today at nintendo.

  • Sami Rautio

Including these games I want to have CONDUIT 3 on WII U Because conduit 2 Was Awesome game with it’s 4p survival and story was great on Wii πŸ™‚

  • Baum γ€Œγƒ„γƒͺー」

hmm…I’d like them to release the demos after that best buy event’s over.

  • Jorge Aguirre

If you guys look at the bottom it shows a guys who took a picture of the games that are going to be demos at Bestbuy which are:

    Wonderful 101

The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker U

    and Super Luigi U

  • Goheels999

The ad below is probably right on. Zelda is the one surprise.

  • Sami Rautio

I would like to have more Wii U virtual console games πŸ™‚ like these games! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p_twGXcMs28

  • disqus_qor9mfFO2M

Apparently this photo has gotten a lot of attention. Didn’t mean to disappoint anyone, I guess I got a little too excited and wanted to share when I saw this. I don’t know if this is the final list, but it’s what I saw and I didn’t ask any BB employees about it. And to prove that this is a real flyer in a real store this is in Wheaton, MD (Washington, DC area) off of Georgia Ave near the metro station and the Wheaton mall, and the inside of the store looks like it’s being rearranged for some reason (those who shop at this store know what I’m talking about). I’m excited about E3 and a Wii U owner so I’m hoping this is not the final list but if it is I’m still walking across the street to play the demos.
