The ALS Ice Bucket Challenge has swept the nation in a viral effort to raise more money for, a charity dedicated to funding and researching the development of new treatments for Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or ALS. This disease is commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease in the United States, as the famous Yankee retired after being diagnosed with the illness. Perhaps the most famous person alive today with the disease is theoretical physicist Dr. Stephen Hawking.

Regardless, earlier this week Xbox’s Phil Spencer challenged Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime to the ice bucket challenge and Reggie accepted over Twitter. Today, we see the results of that challenge, where Reggie and the entire team at Nintendo of America have taken the challenge. It’s a great heart-warming video, and remember that Ubisoft’s CEO has challenged Shigeru Miyamoto to join in on the fun.

  • Kay Wrobel

    His body was ready!

  • Adrian Brown

    • poophead

I bet he feels just like a blue pikmin

  • Superxtreme

Now get Miyamoto to do it!

    • BrBa

      Fucking please!

  • Good for Nintendo.. found a way to get more people to donate and get involved.

  • Squid

    Those were some buckets,

  • William Cole

    Now that’s what I call

    • Dude… that’s cold

    • famous_wolf

      Your joke gave me chills.

  • MewtwoWillBeBack
  • JB

That’s awesome! Though I was really hoping to see Mario get doused. Look at the smug bastard, just standing there, cheering on. Knowing he was free and clear… 😛

    • Prizm

oh god, mario looks like he’s wearing an incontinence diaper

  • PlayboyPacquiao

They should of dumped dry ice on sales and marketing guy Scott Moffit.. Dry ice will make him market the Wii U more in America.

  • The new direct was awesome but to be honest, me still wants region free 🙁 Maybe we should start a petition…

  • Fuzzylittlebastard

Awesome! Good for you guys for doing this!

  • Christian Schoff

    That was awesome.

  • Ducked

Something people will never know is Elsa started this! Dammit Frozen!

    • Daniel Gonzalez
      • Ducked

        No, not that song!

        • William Cole

I hated that movie just because of the music! I mean, older Disney movies have class but this one had baby tunes.

          • Ducked

I thought the music was actually great, besides that awful troll song. It’s just so overplayed that’s it hard not to hate it.

        • Matthew Stapleton

Count yourself lucky, I work for Wal-Mart and have to listen to that song EVERY day……

          • Ducked

            Walmart plays like that?

      • BrBa

Not trying to be a dick, but I fucking hate Frozen ….

        • Geckoblade64

no fair enough you’re not being a dick. it’s horrible.

        • Bowsah

Oh my God, like I hate it too. I thought I was literally the only person on Earth that didn’t like that movie.

Also, I think Frozen has the fastest fake death scene in the history of Disney. It doesn’t even make any sense on how she was able to be brought back to life any how! Using Disney’s own logic from the movie, she still shouldn’t have been able to be brought back to life…

          • BrBa

Call me ignorant if u want, but I didn’t even watch the movie :P.
            I don’t do disney anymore.
            ( Except for Kingdom heart,tho )

  • Guest

    His body was definitely ready

  • Joel Cruz
    • BrBa

      I don’t get it o_O ?

      • DereX

I guess he means it’s a waste of water.

    • Steve

I agree. Or, at least, have said something about the disease. I feel that simply dumping water on your head is kind of pointless, in terms of informing people about the disease. They could have explained what dumping ice water had to do with ALS. That would have at least informed people about the paralyzingly effects of the disease.

That’s just me, though. It’s great that people donate. But I think the actual activity to promote aware could have been done better.

  • mojack411

God how I wish I could work for Nintendo one day.

  • Joel Cruz

Why can’t people just donate the money. There is a fuken drought here in California!(sorry for repost internet disconnected)

  • GregoryTheRainMaker

    Reggie’s body is cold. 😛

  • Kuhang Menyangbo

Nintendo sure knows how to do things differently…Haha 😀

  • Bobby P.

You can see just how the people at Nintendo like to torture by dripping ice water little by little on their co-workers. I would have done dual buckets for Reggie 🙂

  • Kyle

why does he always look so funny

  • BrBa

  • BrBa

Sony also did it, both donated and did the challenge (Nominated by Microsoft, For those who didn’t know yet) and WAY sooner than Nintendo ^o^ !!!
Now only Lord Gaden is left.
Also, Anyone know SEGA did it ?
