Rayman Legends is a game many Wii U owners have been waiting for some time now, but the game has received multiple games from Ubisoft since it was shown at E3 last year. Originally supposed to be available in the Wii U launch window, the game is now tentatively scheduled for release in September. Along with that release, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners will be getting their own taste of the game as well.

Ubisoft has confirmed to VG247 that Rayman Legends is no longer a Wii U exclusive title and will be launching on other platforms this fall. This is bad news for Nintendo, as the company has counted on strong third-party exclusive support to see them through the rough patches between Pikmin 3 and Zelda Wind Waker HD. Ubisoft has previously been supportive of the Wii U with exclusives like ZombiU, so this is a surprising move.

Update: Ubisoft have finally released a statement to the press about this occurrence:

Today, Ubisoft announced that its forthcoming title Rayman Legends, already announced for the Wii U system from Nintendo, will also be released on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. All versions will now hit shelves in early September 2013.

The Microsoft Xbox 360 and Sony PlayStation 3 versions of Rayman Legends are being developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, the same team behind the Nintendo Wii U game. Rayman Legends has been praised for its stunning visuals and innovative gameplay by media around the world and labelled as one of the most anticipated platformers of 2013.

“We heard from many Xbox & Playstation owners and Rayman fans who told us they really wanted to play Rayman Legends on their current system”, says Geoffroy Sardin, EMEA Chief Marketing & Sales Officer. ”We decided to give the fans what they wanted while at the same time broadening the audience exposed to this innovative and memorable game.

wow that does seem like a blow for Nintendo

  • AlienFanatic

This was THE game I had been looking forward to.  The demo was so much fun.

    • Well look at it this way, we get the perfect 60 fps version while PS3 and Xbox 360 owners get a port from the Wii U version and have it running at only 30 fps

      • heh.

      • You have no proof what fps any of the versions will run at….

        • Neither do you so we are even

          • lol, I haven’t claimed it will be one or the other… you did :-p

      • Elem187

No, the Wii U release of Rayman’s Legend in February was an instant-buy for me. I have no desire to purchase this game in September with so many heavy hitters coming for the Wii U by this fall. has to be one of the dumbest mistakes by a publisher I have ever witnessed.

I understand Ubisoft for wanting to sell this game to as many people as possible, but stealing Rayman’s perfect limelight during the drought of Wii U games was pretty idiotic move… I cannot imagine this game selling even remotely well in September compared to the numbers it would move in February with how eager Wii U owners are at buying a new game.

Every single Indie title that came out in the last 2 months were insta-buys for me, and I was going to treat Rayman’s to as well, if it came out on Feb 26th…. That $60 is now going to go towards WindwakerHD, thanks Ubisoft!!!

      • Fred

I don’t care about who gets the best version. I’d be perfectly happy if ps3 & xbox owners got a beret more refined version I just don’t want to wait until September when I was planning on playing it in about a month.

      • RoadyMike

But now the Wii U has lost another exclusive(Ninja Gaiden was the first)Now the public will think “Hmm,why should I get Rayman Legends for the Wii U when I can have it for my 360/Ps3?” The public will go for the other 2 versions. They won’t care about the extra features the gamepad offers
Ubisoft how could you? “..many Xbox & Playstation owners-” my ass. They didn’t care for the game the second they heard it was a Wii U exclusive.Only real diehard Rayman fans would care that much. Why couldn’t you at least release the Wii U version on its original launch date, then the other versions later on?Sure its your game and you can do whatever you want with it,but this is a slap in the face to Nintendo and Wii U owners that were exited for this title after playing the demo(which did pretty well)
How long will it take for Bayonetta 2 no longer being an exclusive?Lego City?We probably won’t be getting Watch Dogs either. This really pisses me off D:<
And I just realized, not only will there be a lot more and better games by the time Rayman Legends launches, but it will launch almost alongside GTA5 and Wind Waker HD…Ubisoft wh..WTF WERE YOU THINKING!?This won't help the game's sales at all!

        • DragonSilths

Nintendo is the Publisher of Bayonetta 2. Its legally Nintendos game. Its impossible for it to become a multiplat.

  • I have no problem with the game going multiplatform, but being delayed and going against games like GTA V in September?

    •  According to posters on this site, GTA is supposed to be about nuthin.

      • My comment is not based off of only one audience.

      • Silent

Gay theft auto doesnt have mario on it. SO IT SUCKS GTFO NOW

        • SoulSilverZero

Unless you could mod the PC version to HAVE Mario as a playable character…

          • Silent

That would be copyright infringement, its wrong and its NOT the REAL MARIO

          • SoulSilverZero

Oh well, Lego City Undercover’s going to be a better game anyways.

      • Jay

its not according to posters on this site its according to the WORLD.

        Just look at sales:

        Gran Turismo 5:       9M
        God of War 3:          5M
        GTA IV:                  2M

        Xbox 360:

        CoD MW3:            14M
        Halo 3:                 11M
        GTA IV:                 9M

        Wii Fit:                 43M
        Mario Kart Wii       34M
        Wii Sports Resort: 31M

        ***and just for fun:

        Super Mario Bros.:        40M
        Gameboy Tetris:           30M
        Pokemon Black/White:  14M
        Nintendogs:                  23M
        New Super Mario Bros.: 30M

        •  Again, you name no sources!  Your mind is not a source.  Let’s take what you write as the truth.  DO you know what the prime differences between those sales are?  The Wii was a casual gamer (people who could care less about games but got one to go with the hype) system and most titles on the Wii sucked.  These titles sold because many of those buyers at least heard of Mario from the 80’s.  There was nothing else on the Wii to get but a few titles, but most Wii owners bought about 2 games!

Explains if your numbers are correct, how come the world cannot wait for the next GTA game, but no one gives a damn about the next Mario game?  Explain that one buddy.

          • The ones who care about Mario games are those who are Nintendo gamers/fans. Also, you’re forgetting that the media blows GTA out of control with articles all the time. If Mario games are selling big with every new game, then it’s apparent that there are plenty of Mario fans out there. Quit being a bigot for a change and just give credit where it’s due. Even I’m not a die hard fan and I’ve been around since the beginning, but it’s hard to say the Wii sucks. As said before, I feel you’ve never grew up with Nintendo or just jumped ship. Or perhaps you’re younger than 15. Doesn’t really matter sure most think you’re ignorant and just enjoy getting replied to for attention.

          •  Yeah, the media talks about GTA because it is a gaming masterpiece.  They don’t talk about Mario because it is old news.  Mario sells in Nintendo systems because their games are usually the only good ones.  So now I am a ‘bigot’ because I don’t like Nintendo?  You people are truly sick!

          • Daniel Gonzalez

No, it’s not that you don’t like Nintendo, it’s the fact that you’re being obnoxious about it in comments that you constantly have to address that Mario isn’t all that great. That’s left for the gamers to judge, it’s obvious we don’t care for your opinion on the subject. Yes, you are a bigot cause you apparently only own a 360 so it just tells us you’re a 360 fanboy. Not too hard to tell. With that comment I can tell you’re a troll. Lol.GTA isn’t a masterpiece, it’s no different from Saint’s Row and there are other games like it. It’s entertaining, yes, but not a masterpiece by any means. It sells cause of the name, nothing more. Just like CoD, people buy it cause it’s CoD.

People buy Mario cause it’s Mario. I can understand if you don’t like Mario games and that’s fine, but it’s your attitude and constant comments that make you ignorant. 360 is good, but it lacks any decent games nor exclusives and depends too much on Kinect now. Gears of War is about the only game I’d get for it. All in all, if you don’t like Nintendo, then don’t bother to comment on the site, cause it really makes no sense. If i was a ps3 or 360 gamer, I wouldn’t be on here or at the very least would respect peoples choices and not degrade the games they enjoy.

          •  Pay-per-post comments are so predictable.  Some try to get rude, some try the nice and innocent approach and others try to act like they are not for Nintendo.  What you all have in common is combating the negativity and trying to end on a positive.  With me and my facts, you’d better be prepared to get your overtime pay!

Of course GTA4 is a masterpiece of gaming.  Saying it not is an absolute lie.  If it were on the Wii U, you would quickly agree with me, but since it’s on the real systems, you have to shoot it down.  Mario has been the same shit since the early 80’s!  It sells because there is usually nothing great on Nintendo systems so they have to have some kind of fun.  GTA sells not on name, but on expectation of great, long gaming with a lot of variety and replay value online.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I don’t even have a Wii U so the jokes on you there buddy. Secondly, I never liked GTA IV much, as I prefer the San Andreas and games before it. It’s change too much for my tastes. I don’t dislike it, but I don’t call it a masterpiece. It’s my opinion, and mine is neither right or wrong. GTA does sell by name. If the game sucked so bad by reviews, it’d still sell 10 million or more. It’s the same with any series. RE 6 was crap, but still managed 3 million in sales, which is still good. Btw, GTA IV’s online play didn’t have much replay value.

Also, I’m always friendly towards anyone who doesn’t try to come off as ignorant my friend. I only treat people as they try to treat me. It’s fair game. If you expect people to treat you better, then maybe you should be more respectful with your comments and not try come off with having a huge ego.

GTA V I do plan on getting for ps3 and I have no clue how good it’ll be to me. I’d hope they improved on it, but I’d rather rent it before buying anyways.

You can call my nice guy approach fake if you like. I’m sure most know who the fake one is in that area. No ones against you but yourself. You’re your own worst enemy. Lol.

          •  GTA 4 online has not replay value?  LOl!!!  That is the only reason I still have the game and play it.  Why are there always people on it?  Last I checked ( months ago), it was still in the top ten list of Live games played!  It’s been five years since it came out!  Their online play must be doing something.  At least Rockstar was sharp enough to make the online play very different from the actual game.

      • bizzy gie

Idiot. The game is about “The Almighty Dollar” and that can be found out easily. Without opening up a second tab and going to Google (or any other website in case you try to be a smartass), could you tell me the storyline for GTAV?

        •  Listen clown, all of the Nintendo nuts on this site do is say that GTA sucks and is about killing hooker and running over people.  I am explaining that it is a lot more that that and a lot deeper than Mario, Zelda and Kirby combined!

          • whoa wait……did you just say gta is deeper then zelda???? i agree thats its deeper then mario and definitely kirby, but you must be out of your mind if you think its deeper then zelda. zeldas time chronology by its self is deeper then gta. actually explain what “deeper” means. that could mean anything lol

          •  Ok, maybe Zelda is deep for a ten year old,, but not for grown men and women.  If you played one Zelda, you played them all (at least the 3D ones).  I do not want to go deeper because it is late and you know the deal.

          • yeah…your an ignorant idiot. again there really isn’t anything deep about GTA. you wouldn’t understand that because your ignorant

          •  You are a poor publicist if that’s all that you can come up with.

          • Nah, it’s cause there’s no use reasoning with bigots. Especially stubborn ones who lost touch with reality.

          •  “Bigots?”  I thought this was about games?

          •  Troll give it up little man. i bet you i was playing games long before you were  born…boy

          •  Unless you are 50 or 60 – I doubt it – son!

          •  Wow… I actually feel sorry for you. You want to troll SO bad, but you
fail at it. Keep that helmet on, and don’t let all the rejection letters
from the special Olympics get you down bro. Someday they’ll say you
aren’t too retarded to join them! Keep reaching for the stars!

          •  That jokes was almost funny!

          • Daniel Gonzalez

It is, you just like to take it one step further by being ignorant. You only get defensive cause you don’t like being wrong. You try to throw your own version of the truth and think people will accept it. Sorry, life don’t work that way. We all know you enjoy the attention otherwise you wouldn’t be putting such troll-like comments on here.

          •  YOU enjoy attention, I just enjoy forecasting and being right about it.  If you want me to be wrong, I will admit that the Wii sold a lot when I thought that IT would flop.  I was right about it being a fad or novelty item though.

          •  Donaald needs to get a life and im betting he’s some boy living in his parents basement living on welfare. This clown is does not have a leg to stand on and this boy is not a true gamer i can tell you that

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Yeah, I agree. I do try to give people a fair shake but he’s obviously in his own world at the moment. True gamers play together and repsect each others preferences and choices in gaming. Rather than do so, he comes on Nintendo sites and probably Sony related ones too just to disrespect them and say their choice of platform   is a flop or sucks. He’s entitled to his opinion, but when you try to shove it in everyones face, then you become an ignorant gamer.

          •  Well im done talking about the poser..He’s wrong and that’s fact and he seems to be in denial

          •  When said my last comment was a joke…Hate to tell you but the jokes on you and your sexbox360…lol

          • what is sooo deep about GTA?? that game doesn’t make you think. thats what “deep” games do, they make you think. “hey i got a mission for you, go kill this guy, then when you come back, i want you to kill some one else.” yup GTA is deep, REAL deep. not much of a storyline bud. hell vice city is a damn knock off of scarface

          •  Well, you have to figure out how to do it.  Zelda games were fun – back in ye olden times, but now it does not cut it.  Even if the news one comes out and it looks like they claim it will look like, the gameplay will be the SAME.  That I know without a doubt because that is Nintendo’s pattern.  In all honesty, if they would have come out with the Zelda and a Mario game for Wii U with advanced graphics (anything noticeably better than the other two), even I would have strongly considered a Wii U.  As it stands, Nintendo messed up by making a quick Mario game that looks like the SNES.

          • Looks like an SNES? Lol. This is why I’m sure people laugh at your comments from the pc monitor.

          • Dude…..even adults play it. You really need to get in touch with reality and put down that 360 controller and look around you. Cause you really are limited to the world. Unless you’re a professional analyst, no one can take you seriously.

          •  You are taking me seriously which is why you keep trying to win this one on a good note for Nintendo.  You don’t fool me.  Reality is not as Nintendo sees it, reality is what is actually happening.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Tomorrows reality won’t be todays. Learn a little more. Besides, I don’t comment to win anything as you probably try to do. I comment to correct your obvious mistakes. Difference. Your reality is that Nintendo is doomed as such an early state. Even the media knows Nintendo isn’t in any trouble yet. If this was a year later, then you’d be right. At this moment, you’re going on assumptions, nothing more.

          •  I already explained myself in detail to you before.  I did it with facts.  You are done.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Only thing you detailed was speculation and analyzing which aren’t facts. So it seems you are done my friend. All you’ve proven is that you can’t stand someone disagreeing with you and come off as a know it all. You’ve been finished comments ago. When the Wii U sales go up by a lot by next November, I’ll still be here to comment on it or even when it actually flops. Will you? I have a good feeling you won’t be if it succeeds. In three months of sales, you lose by a long shot.

Even a professional analyst could tell you. One quarter of sales means nothing.

          •  I speculated and analyzed with FACTS, that’s how it works.  If you do not use trends, history and facts, then you are just guessing.  When you do use them and what you say is happening right before your eyes, then it because total fact.  If the Wii U picks up, I will give credit where credit is due, but looking at the time of releases and the new systems and GTA V, I just don’t see it.

          • btw iam a HUGE fan of gta, and nintendo so iam not bias lol like some people here

          •  Well that’s good then.  I can accept that.  I just cannot accept those liars that act like GTA is only the worst because Nintendo does not have it.

          •  Who gives a flip about GTA and glad wii u not getting it let the last gens get it…lol

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Why do you even care? You have a 360 and I don’t get why you even care what people comment on a Nintendo only site. I’m fine with debating but when you run your mouth with absurd comments, then expect people to correct you over and over again. All consoles go through a rough begining, it happens. It’s part of business, so deal with it.

          •  I care because I am a caring person.  Why do you care that I care?

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I don’t see how you care. If you did, you wouldn’t be reeking of ignorance. You care to troll Nintendo sites, that’s for sure lol.

          •  Ignorance is not knowing.  Since I know, I am not ignorant.  Lying is what junior publicists get paid for.  However, when you go against me you have to have your shit together.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Ignorance is not knowing, that suits you fine at this very moment. Myself and most here have their “sh*t” together as we know what the facts here. It’s cute that you try to play a Michael Patcher like analyst, but we all know you’re full of yourself. Lol. Go against you? You were never a player to begin with my friend. Besides, is this some kinda war? Lol. Quite sure you can find some locusts to slay on the pay to play console.

          •  What you are trying to do is to play the publicist/propaganda game of trying to outlast the naysayers.  The so-called conservatives use this tactic all of the time.  They keep beating a topic or phrase into people’s heads trying to tire them out and accept what they are trying ti implant in their brains.  Well, when it comes to that battle, I have a lot of patience because I know what you are trying to do and I have the truth on my side.

          •  Hey Dontroll Can’t stand the truth GTA is garbage and hope also sony go the way of sega…You mad bro?

          •  I don’t care about Sony and Nintendo did not either except that they became more successful at gaming than Nintendo, so you clowns love to hate.  You know you breathed a sigh of relief when GTA V got pushed back!  You know that would have spelled the quick end to the Wii U.  You can only pray that it comes to the Wii U in September when those news systems come out or that will be TWO reasons no one wants a Wii U at the same time!

          •  Who cares about that garbage GTA. It’s nothing but a lame rehash of part 4

          •  Goes to show how full of shit you are.  The game is not even out and you want to tell us what it is like.  We can ALL predict what the next Mario game will be like…

          •  Stay in denial donny Nintendo is here to stay get over it..If you don’t like the Wii U don’t buy it and please troll someone who cares troll boy

          • Yet, you say that about Mario and other Nintendo games that come out? Hypocrite much? I think you’re just one of those Nintendo haters who just like coming to Nintendo sites like this to troll fans on a normal basis. I’ve seen worse though, so keep on trolling. People need a few laughs here and there. GTA V is pretty much about crime, hookers, basically the same similar storylines. I have nothing against it as I find some entertainment in it just as I like Mario or even God of War. All of them have repetitive sequels but yet still enjoyable. So again, maybe pick up a Sony and Nintendo controller and try something new other than 360.

          •  trust me ps4 is not going to sell well and that is scares you the most but i hate sony and hope it fails just like you think the same of wii u but remember vita and the move failed ..can you give us a reason why don …hummmm Please tell us the reason for there fail
            Wii U 4 Life

          •  I can only trust you if you can tell me the Powerball number!  It does not scare me if the PS4 fails because I don’t even have a PS3!  I have a 360!

          •  Oh im so sorry that’s even worse
and they make you pay to play online hahaha what a joke that is and as for the powerball good luck with that too and thanks for the laugh

          • I don’t care if he pays to play. That’s his own choice as I did once too. I just think he’s a bigot and hypocrite in his previous comments. I have to guess he isn’t even 15 and probably plays CoD often. It’s fine if he doesn’t like Nintendo games, but if that’s the case, why is he commenting on this site? Which tells everyone on here he’s a troll.

          •  I know he’s not even worth talking about anymore but what game are you getting next..im think about monster hunter 3

          • Okay, that explains it. You’re a Microsoft fanboy. Thanks for sharing. So why not go to the xbox live forums? I also have a ps3 and a Wii. I like all forms of gaming. I have doubts that you even played a Nintendo game before considering your obvious criticism.

          •  I guess coming on here with doing battle with paid posters and people sweating out Nintendo’s fall is fun.  Besides, I am already one of the sitting masters on Xbox Live.  My title is secure.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Then go back to your pay to play console? Lol. What battle? You lost it long ago my friend. You’re only war is against yourself. People have already proven you wrong, you’re the only one in his own little world. I play every console. True gamers are open-minded and are willing to expand. 360 doesn’t really cut it. Even Ps3 just passed it in sales cause of better games for it at this point. I use my 360 to watch movies now, and play a few games on and off. To be fair about this, it doesn’t have much going for it except 3rd party games, which most I can get on ps3. So, before you go on about your Nintendo dislike, maybe you should look closer at sales, cause apparently you don’t that often.

          •  You people flip-flop. If you don’t put both down, then you attack the PS3 if you think someone is siding with them, if not you attack the industry standard in the 360.  I have not lost a thing and I come with facts, not pay-per-post propaganda.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

You make your own propaganda. I state facts my friend. Ps3 passed 360 recently. What’s the big deal? There’s a lot to be desired to me for the 360. It doesn’t have the exclusives it once did. Too much Kinect these days. PS3 wasn’t that great a few years ago, but it’s thriving now cause of better development. Wii U is in the same stage as the ps3 and 360 were in the beginning. The console hasn’t established itself yet. So again, you make your own propaganda. No one made this a war/battle. You did. We’re here debating and disagreeing with you, and perhaps some are being a bit over the top, but then again so have you.

I’m one of the few who are talking calmly to you, but apparently you see that as fake, lol. So to be honest, you make your own problems.

          •  I don’t have any problems – except people lying about Nintendo and it’s cheap systems and trying to divert attention by arguing over the PS3 passing the 360 when they are both going to release new systems.  It is all pointless, but I guess you think that it helps your case.

  • Nathan Ostroski

Hmm…Games have been released first for 360 & PS3, with a later date for the Wii U.  Why won’t they do this for Wii U, and just release 360 & PS3 at a later date?  Seems like foul play…

    • Fred

I wish I could double “like” your comment I was so looking forward to this game in the next few months

    • Nintedward

Foul play indeed. This is an extra-French move to be sure.

Yah i have a feeling that Bayonetta may have this same back-stabbing fate like the bunch of other games that wont be an exclusive…

        • Kyle Jovanis

Don’t worry that literally cannot happen because Nintendo is publishing it themselves. They basically own Bayonetta 2.

        •  they can’t, nintendo is the publisher there

          • yah i knew it was licensed by Nin. but gosh….. it made me believe that even a license wont matter.

but on the other hand i just read that B2 and Wonderful 101 will stay exclusive. 😉

      • Lazara the Last
    • kikkelipissi

      Ubisoft, you shouldn’t done that.
      Greetings from BEN.

    • CharmanderRulz
    • Hmmm… this is slowly looking like Wii all over again. 3rd party developers getting cold feet, Nintendo doing absolutely nothing to show them confidence while Microsoft/Sony piss all over Nintendo. Why Nintendo not expanding their 1st and 2nd party developers is beyond comprehension. Nintendo is becoming the RIM of the smartphone industry and Microsoft/Sony are Apple/Google.

If Nintendo don’t wake up and start being aggressive then the will never return to dominance in hardware and software of the olden days.

      • MujuraNoKamen

Losing exclusivity to 1 game is a different matter to losing games all together. RELAX 🙂

        • JuleyJules

It’s not the fact that it’s going to other systems that’s pissed people off.  It’s the fact that the game is finished as it was to release on February 26th but now we have to wait 7 months for a finished game.  Then they tell us they’re releasing and ‘exclusive’ wii u demo.  We’ve already had a demo for over a month.  Why the hell do we need a 2nd demo???  Going to multiplatform makes no difference to me.  In fact, it could mean they’ll make more.  Now a lot of Nintendo fans won’t care if they do or not.

          • MujuraNoKamen

I know, I can’t believe Ubisoft are stupid enough to do this. They’ve been working tirelessly to get this game ready for release  and now it’s finished they’re gong to sit on it for 7 months. Being a multi-plat doesn’t bother me but sitting on a much-anticipated game is a betrayal to thee gamers who’ve been praising Ubi’s work for months now. Ubisoft would be better off releasing RL on Wii U now as when it releases in Autumn it’s going to be overshadowed by the Wind Waker HD, GTA 5, new consoles etc.

      • Are you not aware that the 360 was barren of any software for the first 2 years of it’s launch? And now it’s doing fine. Wii U has one hell of a launch, is only two months in, and has an amazing horizon within the next six months. Losing Rayman Legends is like a drop in the bucket.

    • val berger

Statement by one of the DEVs:

“I completely understand you but you have to understand one thing. This is not a decission taken by the development team, this comes from really really high up, so please don’t pick on the game.

If you’re pissed, imagine how we feel. Think on the situation, we’ve been making overtime with this game practically since May preparing E3, and then almost a demo per month (gamescon, Wii U presentation, shops, eShop, etc…) and at the same time trying to actually finish the game. We had a first delay because it was obvious we couldn’t finish on time but we gave it all to be there on February. What face do you think we had when the week we had to close the game we’re being told it’s not going to be released? I couldn’t believe it.

For practical matters, you’ll have to wait for some months for the game to be released and will most likely serve for more content to be added and do it better. For us, this means we’ve spent 6 months barely seeing our wifes, kids, and friends for nothing because, after all, such a haste wasn’t needed. Believe it, it was a hell to swallow these news.

Even then I’m firm in what I said back in the day, Rayman Legends is an excellent game and will still be, and the team that’s making it doesn’t deserve to have your back turned on them just because some men in ties one day took a wrong choice. This industry is really that shitty”

  • Fred

Ubisoft just made me incredibly angry! I don’t care if they to a multi-platform release our not, but they had me super exited for this game, I’ve played the demo so many times and I was absolutely going to buy it right away. Now I’m so bitter that I might decide to pass on it come freaking September.

  • Jéssica Storgatto

This is why you just can’t count on third-parties…

  • Johny

    fuck off… just fuck off…

thats just a feast for the wii u haters…. i can already hear them
just … fck off ubisoft… what the heck is your problem

    • even IGN is all like “Nintendo needs to step it up now!” Not even a week after being all “Nintendo just stepped it up so far!!!

      • They are Xbox and Playstation Fan Elitists

        • Dominic Coradazzi

not entirely, there’s a pretty strong nintendo base in IGN

          • xdlugia

True, but the Playstation base takes the cake. Like 60% of the base there are Playstation guys.

    • Stupid Ubisoft >_<

  • Sydney Ultrasyd

Bad news, not the multi platform, but that long delay :'( Is it because they would like to release it on all machines at the same time ?
I mean, it’s just RIDUCULOUS, the game is ready i’m pretty sure ! And now that demo, released 9 months before the actual release ?
That just can’t be true, and at VG247, they just say “both new version for september”. Nothing more. I’m sure it can’t be delayed that long.

They say they do it for the fans … Obvisously, there must be more “fans” on SP3 + Xbox, but that’s not a reason to disapoint the Wii U gamers.. ps3 and xbox users won’t be happier because it’s delayed on wii U, will they ? The good choice would be to release it now on Wii U, then september for less complete versions if you really want more $$$, damn Ubisoft

  • This is clearly all about money.  The Wii U has flopped so there is no need to keep it on that system, they must go where the money is.

    • Sydney Ultrasyd

You can’t say that, xbox360 and ps3 sold much worse at their release time … But yeah, it’s all about money. What’s the point with having a console rather than an other ? Same games on every platform now. I miss the Era of Megadrive and Super Nintendo !

    • savisn

I agree it’s about the money, but not because the Wii U “flopped”.  If that were the only reason it would make more sense to release it now for Wii U and simply add it later for PS360.  They could even do that as digital only on WiiU and not advertise it at all.   Sales now are always better than sales tomorrow.

It’s highly likely that either MS or Sony gave them a financial incentive to delay the Wii U version for simultaneous launch.  Both companies have a huge incentive to make Wii U a failure.  Its poor launch is blood in the water and they would have no problem spending big $ to make Wii U fail.  Of course it’s also better for MS/Sony to have the game available at the same time as it makes it more likely that someone will buy it on their system.

I doubt it’s coincidence that this is happening at exactly the same time Ninja Gaiden 3 is announced as no longer exclusive.

It’s probably smart for UbiSoft assuming they got a big payout and for whichever of MS/Sony is doing this.   As for me I’m now much less likely to buy this game when it comes out as I can’t stand bullshit tactics like this that hurt the consumer.

      • Nintendofreak

i have to admit your right but d thing is that microsoft n sony want nintendo console to fail if n they hope that nintedo stops existing then it would be better for their business, so yeah but the thing if ninendo dies who will they copy…but i hate to admit it but it seems  nintendo cannot compete in a world where a “good game” is based on graphics instead of actually being fun but i believe that yet nintendo will survive for years to come as for me i would move to pc the day the nintendo empire falls….well if im still alive lmfao…back to the game i couldnt be any more careless for ninja gaiden n rayman legends, rayman legends is a good game n everything but i wouldnt probably buy it until its like 19.99

        • Elem187

Without a doubt… I will never buy a Sony/Microsoft system because the only selling point for these two systems is an area my computer leaves them both behind in the dust.

Nintendo warrants my purchase because I love the innovation in gameplay.

          •  Well I am sure that your PC also leaves Wii U in the dust too.  If it’s not bashing the leaders, then you try to get PC gamers on your sides.  Shame.

          • Nintedward

LEADERS ? The Wii outsold the PS3 and 360 in hardware and overall Software. Nintendo’s first part software sales Destroyed the sales of any single PS3 or 360 game kid.

Not to mention the DS sold 156million and the 3DS is already on 30M+ and the Wiiu is on 3M+

Nintendo is the world leader in Video games . Fact. Not sony , not Microsoft. Nintendo.

          •  Why do you people keep bringing up the DS?  MS does not make portables.  The Wii was a fly-by-night system that did not last long.  Your post is deceptive as well by saying that Nintendo’s first party software sales (the only games that were of any good on the Wii) destroyed sales of any SINGLE PS3 or 360 game.  It did not sell more than the PS3 and 360 in combined software.

Now, if what you claim is true, how come the Wii is done but 3rd party developers stayed focus on the 360 and PS3?  How come they did not go to the Wii and take advantage of such a larger user base?  I’ll answer.  The software attache rate for Wii games was low!  Most people played the pack-in or bough a game or two and never touched the Wii again.

    • Nintedward

The Wiiu has not flopped you blithering idiot. It’s only been out for 2months + , What did you expect it to sell 70M units ?

It’s selling faster than the PS3 and 360 did at their respective launch periods , so that’s that.

Its just Ubisoft being greedy and going back on their decisions.

Mr Micheal Ancel has been praising the Wiiu all year , now he can go praise my Nut sack whilst he gargles on it.

      •  You cannot compare those times to now.  The PS3 and 360 sold more than the Wii U did NOW, which is sad.  The Wii U will go the way of the Dreamcast.  The DC sold, but the PS2 sold a lot more and the focus shifted to it.  I have never owned a PS, but if the specs on the PS4 come close to final, it sounds like something I would pick up over the next Xbobx, even though I have a year left on my Live account!

        • Nintedward

You’re just an idiot mate. Like the 3DS failing aswell. Oh wait the 3DS is flying and the Vita is failing.

What makes you think the PS4 will sell more than the Wiiu ?

Wiiu has loads of big games coming SOON. Pikmin 3 , Wii fit U , Game and Wario , Lego City , Monster Hunter ultimate.

Wiiu has already sold 3-4 Million Worldwide

          •  I don’t care about portables.  Nintendo may need to stick with that since that is the only thing they seem to know how to do.

The Wii U is not selling, so I suspect that people are saving their money for the PS4 or next Xbox.  That is what makes me think the PS4 will outsell Wii U, besides the Wii U flopping.

3-4 million world-wide is horrible.  Big games should not be ‘coming soon,’ they should have been here.  Those titles are not games that people will break their necks for.

          • Suspecting is just assuming. I would say they’re waiting for the right time to buy the console when more quality titles are released. I’m sure people will buy the next Sony and Microsoft console, but the Wii U wil sell more in time like the rest. With that said, expect Microsoft and Sony to struggle in the beginning. Or are you going to say they’re gonna sell sh*t loads of consoles?

          •  You talk about assuming, yet you claim that the Wii U sales will pick up when you cannot say that they will or that people are waiting for good games.  They may be waiting for the PS4 or Xbox.  MS/Sony will not struggle because unlike Nintendo, people know to expect the best!  They will sell a lot – especially if a Direct X 11 GTA V debuts on them!

          • Daniel Gonzalez

When you try to make comments like MS or PS3 are better, you’re obviously talking out your ass as per usual. You are guilty if not more than I am on such claims. Wii U I’m quite positive will do better in time, besides, no developer nor the public know how strong the console really is. It takes a few years for any console to reach it’s true potential. You just like to write Nintendo off any chance you get. I on the other hand never said MS nor Sony’s next gen consoles will flop. I’m sure they will sell finejust like last gen. Slow at first, but picks up when better games are on it. I don’t see how hard that is to understand for you.
Of course I know the answer to that. Like m@twitter-954767168:disqus
st I’ve seen over the net, you enjoy putting down Nintendo whenever some bad news hits. That’s been tradition for years. However, I have all consoles but the Wii U cause as I made it clear before, I’m waiting for the right time to buy one, which is around fall for me or possibly sooner. You do forget one thing though, GTA V has a good chance to come to Wii U as well in an enhanced port. NG Razor’s Edge is a good example.

          •  I never made any such comments minimum wage publicist.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Btw, portables are classified as consoles, so they do count. You obviously made a boo boo there.

          •  …They don’t count man…  Stop pulling straws…

        •  donald we all know your a sony drone and no one cares about sony here this is wii u the true next gen get over it

        • You can compare anything. That’s just you finding excuses to continue to criticise the Wii U. It doesn’t take a genius to see what you’re trying to pull. Really dude, give it up. You’re not fooling let alone convincing anyone. Lol. Sega was doomed from the start. Plus, people have been saying Nintendo is doomed for years and yet they’re still on top of what they do best. Truth is, you’re just gonna continue to say they’re doomed for years to come until it does actually happen. Which is what they call, a waste of time. Plus, paying for Live in a sense, is a waste of money. You can call that bs, but then again, so is a lot of things you say. I say that’s fair enough.

          •  It is clear for us to see what YOU are trying to do.  All I am doing is preaching the word with true and actual facts.  Facts that cannot be refuted, only lied on.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

All we see is you trying to preach the word of deceit and false claims. You have to have an actual fact for it to be true. Therefore, you lie often. This gen can be compared to any gen. As said before, you just don’t like to be challenged upon when someone completely disagrees with you and call them a liar. Give up the preaching act, no one is falling for it. It’s at the very least, amusing. Nothing more. Lol.

          •  Ok, point out my lies.  You sound like a politician, which of course are mainly attorneys, who are liars and publicists are like attorneys, but only spokesperson who make up lies to spin positive views for a client.  Before you start, you will not and are not able to confuse or lose me, so you might as well stop.  I am the type of guy who can go into a grocery store with a mental list of things to get, grab a bunch of other things on I see on sale and remember each and every price of each item once I get to the register.  I am never wrong either.

          • andrewjcole

            Nobody’s perfect including you, Donaald.

    • So why did they focus all the attention onto the Wii U version then?
It sounds like they just want a little extra cash by making a shitty port to the PS3 and Xbo 360

      •  I assume because they thought the Wii U would do similar numbers to the Wii, so it would be worth their while to be first out the gate which meant that more people would be inclined to give Rayman a shot which would mean more sales/exposure.  Once they saw that the Wii U is not moving, then there was no longer an incentive to keep it exclusive.

I have been following the gaming biz since the 80’s and the patterns are the same, which is why I can say without hesitation that the Wii U has flopped.  GTA V and the realse of new systems will put the Wii U further behind and after Christmas, Nintendo may have to cut their loses in order to save money.  Then Wii U owners will proudly own a tablet to play with!

        • MujuraNoKamen

If you’ve been paying any sort of attention to the “biz” for any amount of time you’ll know that few consoles have a great launch. And how has Wii U been a flop? Really how? in it’s first 3 months on the market it has sold 3 million units, in 360 and PS3’s first 12 months, they sold around 5.7 million units. Wii U has about 50% of what 360 and PS3 had in a quarter of the time. We all know you’re just here to troll but congratulations, you’ve once again successfully proved that you know nothing about nothing – I actually feel better every time I read a negative comment like this because I know the opposite of what’s really happening with Wii U.

          •  If i’m here to troll, then you are getting paid to make sure that the last word about Nintendo and the Wii U is a positive one.  I am making you people earn you money!  The more lies you tell the more truth I come to destroy you with, which will make you tell even more outrageous lies.

See, you people are paid clowns lying because you talk like publicists.  You can only compare sales of the Wii U to sales of the 360/PS3 when they first came out, but you want to leave out their sales when the Wii U came out!  The truth is, the Wii U did not sell even as much as either of the other two systems which tells developers that people are not interested.  This is why developers are backing away from the Wii U and no longer making games exclusives.  If the Wii U sold well, they would keep the games as exclusives.

The Dreamcast had 3rd party support (except EA, which is why the 2K sports series came out, and it was better than EA) and it sold well and had arcade-prefect 3D games, many of them better than the arcade.  The DC sold very well (hell, I had to buy two because my house burned down and of course I needed a replacement), but the PS2 came out and sold ever better, which of course made many developers concentrate of the bigger money maker.  Sega, already having their financial problems from producing SHORT-LIVED, UNSUCCESSFUL systems (32X, Sega CD, Saturn) was forced to cut there loses with the DC.

If you recall, during that period, the Gamecube feared no better, but Nintendo was still able to stay in the hardware business mainly because they had what Sega did not have – a successful portable product to keep them afloat.  The GC did not sell well because of what it looked like (a toy for people under ten!) and the cute little discs instead of a manly full-sized disc.  The disc sizes automatically said to people that it was limited – people were tired of limits.  Of course you know that Nintendo was able to recoup their GC loses by turning the GC into the Wii and sold that old pizza with fresh toppings to suckers.

    • Couldn’t agree more.

    • Silent

GTFO. No one likes you in this website.

      •  Hey this donald troll is not worth debate with…he lives in denial

      •  They are paid not to like me, but cannot deny the powerful truth.

        •  Donaald There is no truth that comes out of your mouth

    •  Troll!!!!!!!!!!!!

    • Johnny Star

The near future shows the likes of Mario, Kirby, Starfox, and Donkey Kong on Sony and Microsoft systems. Nintendo is on the downward spiral. They should join SEGA and just develop games for the superior systems. I have always been a fan of Nintendo, and my daughter loves her Wii U, but I don’t see Nintendo making it to the next round of system launches 8 years from now. If people think Wii U sales are bad now, wait until Sony and Microsoft release their next Gen consoles as well!

      • Genesect4ssb4

        GTFO bro. Excuse my french.

_the Wii U is doing better thna PS3 and Xbox 360 when they launched.

U ain’t seen nothin yet. Just wait till SSB4 and Mario Kart

That will sell MILLIONS of Wii U’s

Wind Waker HD, Zelda U, and Metroid U (possibly Retro’s project) only help

        • Johnny Star

You have to also look at the prices of the PS3 and 360 at their launch time, the PS3 was over $600, and was still flying off the shelves! The Wii U is $300 and is collecting dust at every store! Stores are giving away games with the purchase of the system just to try to move the units!

          • Adam Porter

ps3 flying off shelves??? who the fuck are you kidding!!! until the last year or 2 the ps3 was a major flop you idiot.

          • Johnny Star

Really? Why is it then, when the PS3 was released they were never in stock? And there’s no need for name calling, I’m just stating the truth, and you people can’t handle the truth about it. You can always tell peoples maturity when they get so bent out of shape and resort to cussing over a gaming system!

          • Adam Porter

i’m just amazed at how stupid you are, i bought the ps3 slim as soon as it came out, after it had a major price drop because the old version was selling terribly. i got it for one sole purpose, to play FFXIII, which was supposed to be an exclusive, 2 months before launch, Xbox360 version announced -_-‘
sold my ps3 the next day, if we are talking launch window exclusives ps3 was the worst, xbox had a few but it really wasn’t until midway through the xbox’s life cycle that it really started to get a good library of games.
oh and btw FFXIII was a major disappointment anyways T_T

          • Johnny Star

We are not talking about launch title exclusive games, I never said a word of that. All I know is the PS3 was a hard to get item where I live, The PS3 sold about 600,000 units in its FIRST TWO DAYS, when Nintendo announced that its Wii U mustered 460,000 unit sales in All OF DECEMBER. I am only speaking of where theses systems stood, and stand. Sony and Microsoft will dominate over Nintendo in the end, time will tell that!
I am not bashing the Wii U, nor Nintendo, I have always been a fan of Nintendo and I have owned every system they have released, I am just stating the direction I see the company going. I believe Nintendo would be wise to release their games on other platforms and get out of the console business. Nintendo stated they lose $26 per each console built and their gain is from software sales.

You people are such big fan boys, you refuse to hear or see the truth, even if it’s right in front of you.

And once again, there’s no need for name calling, You can always tell peoples
maturity when they get so bent out of shape and resort to cussing and calling names over a
            gaming system!

          • Johnny Star

And just to show your knowledge, the slim PS3 was created to produce a cheaper PS3, not due to bad sales. The 360 did the same thing. And as far as Final Fantasy, never played it so I couldn’t say.

      • DragonSilths

Wont be a next system after the Wii U??? Then why has Nintendo already said they are in the extremely early works of planning their next handheld and consoles coming after Wii U and 3DS??? More doom and gloom for Nintendo bullshit. PEOPLE NEED TO GET THIS THROUGH THEIR FUCKING SKULL. NINTENDO HAS BEEN AROUND FOR 124 YEARS THEY WILL OUTLAST EVERYONE WHO IS THEIR COMPETITION.

        • Johnny Star

Hmmm, Atari was in it before Nintendo and you see where they are. Just because someone was there first doesn’t mean they will out last the competition. I am not a fanboy for any system, I own them all, I just state things as they are. Nintendo may “last” as long as Sony and Microsoft, but they have yet to out do them!

        •  People can plan all they want, but making it happen is another thing.

      • SoulSilverZero

Donley King? That must be Nintendo’s new IP that they were going to announce!

  • Nintedward

How dare they delay the Wiiu version , so they can make worser version for 8 year old consoles.

Why not just release the Wiiu version on time , and then make your shitty Worse versions and release them in Spetember instead of making Wiiu owners suffer who are already playing the demo?

    Ubisoft = dick heads.

    • Hey hey, don’t blame the guys making the game. I seen the comment one of the developers made and it seemed like he was feeling sorry for the fans of Xbox and Playstation so they decided to release the game on those platforms. It does not mean that the Wii U is the cause of it so simmer down

      • Mauricio Cordero

        • Unlike what? Just because I stated that the developer himself said that he actually felt sorry for the other consoles?

Stop being a fanboy/girl and grow a pair

          • DragonSilths

How can anyone feel sorry for the supposedly more hardcore and “better” systems? XBox and Sony fans dont deserve this game.

      • Elem187

Uhm, thats great that they want to make the game available to their Xbox and PS3 fans, but why delay the Wii U release date when the game is ready to ship!?!?!?

Just release the Wii U game today and the PS360 version in September? I don’t care about it being exclusive.. but Because of this boneheaded decision I wont be purchasing this game anymore. Goodluck Ubisoft, not really.

  • Billy_Perry

This is so bad. The Wii U is my favourite console ever, and it is going to not be a success. Nintendo need to re-evaluate their position, If I was Iwata, I would be incredibly worried.

With the recent specs being demonstrated to be underpowered compared to the PS4 and Xbox360 it seems that EA director was right in not considering this console as a next gen console. The Wii U has got recently poor sales, bad press, bad support, mixed reviews and underpowered hardware. This generation will be like the Wii again, just that Nintendo won’t be able to rely upon the casual market to generate them nice high profits, and their Hardcore fans are not happy with the console at the moment. Nintendo are seriously screwed at the moment.

However, they have enough cash reserves to survive an entire generation, so this is not their last console, but it will be their worst probably.

    • Jay

dont worry Mario Kart alone will sell 20M consoles and wii fit+ Smash Bros.+Zelda and Pikmin 3 will sell another 20M so even if its not be a huge success it will at least be like the 360.

But I doubt that. I’m estimating 75-160M consoles sold.

      •  Maybe, but Mario Kart Double Dash for the Gamecube certainly didn’t sell 20m consoles, and I thought that game was fantastic.

    • andrewjcole

My favorite console too! Ubisoft supports Wii U? Yah right! As long as there’s more money for them, that’s all they care about!

    • bizzy gie

I assume you’re one of the few morons out there who believe they can predict the future.

    • DragonSilths

I dont feel like typing up a huge ass paragraph on my gamepad but your wrong across the board.

  • Nintendofreak

well nintendo has been betrayed once again but at least u have us your loyal soldiers in d universe of gaming

    • TheLast

Well… At least we still have ZombiU… (waits)

  • September?? Seriously!? WTH :/

  • Fred

    Dear Ubisoft,
Please just release it as a download only on Wii U this month and I promise to buy it.
If you wait till September to release it on Wii U that promise is gone!

    • Elem187

No kidding, September will have an explosion of great titles out for the Wii U, that Rayman won’t be able to compete with.

Ubisoft could have had the limelight in Feb/Mar/Apr  with Rayman’s Legend, but pushing it off to September pretty much destines the game to be a rental…. Who came up with this decision at Ubisoft?? I guess I’ll hold on to this $60 I was saving for this game and plop it down on Monster Hunter instead, or Fist of the North Star.

  • This actually really pisses me off. Not that it’s no longer an exclusive; I couldn’t care less if the PS3 and the 360 received crappier ports of this game. What really irks me is that I’ll have to wait until September to play it, which I’m not sure I want to do. There have hardly been many good games at the immediate launch of Wii U, but I was looking foreward to the later launch games, Rayman Legends included. But now I’m gonna have to wait until March to see games like Pikmin 3 and Lego City? This is just unacceptable on Ubisoft’s part. Fuck you, Ubisoft.

    • Elem187

See thats the thing, I was looking forward to playing this game in February/March, but by September I’m going to be thinking about Windwaker HD, and other great games, not Rayman’s Legends… Gamefly will let me borrow Rayman in September, I’m sure of it.

      • Exactly. By September, I’m gonna be too busy playing Pikmin 3 and Aliens Colonial Marines. And any money I have to put towards games will be saved for Wind Waker HD and Mario Kart U and the new 3D Mario. It was just a stupid and disrespectful move on Ubisoft’s part.

  • Ian Rahn

Not even developers respect the WII U lol

    • Jay

      Neutrons trolling begins!!

    •  Another sony fanboy…you fail and goodbye

  • These game delays are beginning to concern me and I can only hope it is because the developers have taken them back to find better ways to utilize the unique features of the Wii U console instead of rushing something out that could be a heck of a lot better with a few tweaks.

  • savisn

I recommend letting Ubisoft know you are displeased with delaying WiiU version at ubi.com in the Rayman Legends forum.  Not sure we can do anything else, but they should at least hear it from Wii U owners that the delay is BS

  • Retro Cool

I should be able to sue Ubisoft for false advertising.  Commercials/advertisement are claiming it to be a Wii U exclusive.  It was one of the many reason why I wanted to get a Wii U.

Is it about money? Probably!  The fact still remains that they have become liars.  Nintendo now has to really bring down the house and really bring out the 1st party games possibly sooner and more of them, proving that they do not need 3rd party exclusives to secure a system like PS/360.

    • Elem187

No, but you could get the false advertising angle of them backing out of the solid Feb 26th release date…. I can’t say I’m all that big of a fan of Ubisoft at this moment> I was looking forward to purchasing and playing this game this month, but now that money will be used for another title, and i’ll just rent Rayman’s Legends on Gamefly.

  • Nothing we can really do about this news but at the very least Ubisoft can at least give WiiU owners a timed exclusive. If the game was due out soon I’m sure there is no need to wait for the WiiU version till September.

  • spyridus

This blows!! Even though I have Super Mario Bros U, I have nothing to play on this damn thing!! I’ve been anxiously waiting until the end of February for this game so I finally have something else to hold me off until Pikmin 3….Just you wait, as Pikmin 3 closes in, they’ll delay that too.  I knew I shouldn’t have bought this system at the release date.  I know it’s not Nintendo’s fault…there’s just nothing available right now that I’m interested in playing.

    • Elem187

I bought the console because it has alot of games I never played… ME3, ZombiU, NSMBU, AC3, BLOPS2.

I didn’t get suckered into buy a PS360, as my computer smokes anything sony or microsoft will put into a box… Shrug, I’ll survive without Rayman Legends, in fact I’ll probably skip purchasing it now altogether because my wallet will be occupied by alot games coming this consoles way in September.

  • Nintendo FLOPPED! Hahahahaha

  • Seth Callahan

The thing that sucks is if Wii U owners don’t buy this, that will be more reason for Ubisoft to not develop for the platform. Such a stupid situation.

    •  I agree, if you wanted the game before, the exclusivity breach isn’t a good reason not to get the game.  If we don’t get the game then the next game they release multiplatform won’t be on the Wii U.  If the game sells best on the Wii U, maybe they consider more exclusives.

      • Elem187

If they just would have announced the PS360 version for September, I still would have purchased this game on Feb 26th, but delaying the Wii U version for 6 months isn’t going to make them any extra sales,  but instead hurt those sales.

I could careless about exclusives, but what I do care is I was prepared to buy this on February 26th. …. When September rolls around my wallet will be paying attention titles ALOT more interesting than a 2D platformer.

        •  fair enough, the date switch certainly doesn’t seem like it’s geared toward the Wii U, now is the time to strike for the Wii

  • Sami Rautio

WHAT THE *************************** ALL WII U EXCLUSIVES BY FAR ARE GOING TO PS3 AND 360 WHAT THE FU ******** I was buying my wii U for these tasty exclusives but now im considering selling my wii u THIS SUCKS ASS 🙁

    • Jay

the best exclusives will stay on Nintendo

Pikmin, Mario, Pokemon, Wii Fit, Mario Kart, Smash Bros. Zelda and Metroid just to name a few.

      • Sami Rautio

Yea but still ….it would be good have other than just nintendo exclusives….all of these exclusives are nomore exclusives……Nintendo is going to lost sales … 🙂 iwas first place buying wiiu for Rayman Mario and aliens  …and later for zelda and mariokart to come

  • Jimmy D. Fugate

Why the hell would they delay the release of the Wii U version?! It’s 19 days from the supposed launch date, surely they have that version done…why must they hold that version while they make a PS3 and Xbox version? I am fiery pissed. I get why they put it on other platforms but why the hell are they delaying a version that’s already finished…especially 7 freakin’ months. What BS.

  • Was going to be a day one purchase now it’s fallen off my list.

    • Jay

      TELL Ubisoft this.

    • Elem187

I know I said this several times already on this thread, but I agree with you. During this barron wasteland of Wii U games drought, I was going to purchase this game DAY-ONE on Feb 26th,  and by pushing it out to September, it just became a renter for me.

Ubisoft seems allergic to money… I really don’t think I’ll have time or money for Rayman Legends with Windwaker HD or Mario Kart or Yarn Yoshi coming.

      • SoulSilverZero

At least they aren’t money whores like all the other companies…

  • I don’t mind it going multiplat but I agree with the rest, why delay the WiiU version as well while as others said other games go ps360 first later ported to WiiU, why can’t they do the same with this title, get WiiU released as sceduled, and release the port to other platforms later?

As a side note what’s the meaning of exclusives? First Ninja Gaiden Razor’s Edge now Rayman Legends, and pretty long ago before these Resident Evil 4 and even longer ago Resident Evil code veronica before that.

On a last side note this might be positive for a certain title called Nu No Kuni(?) then again, why bother to have a positive thought on that…

I’m very dissapointed Ubisoft, not for the multiplat release, not even for the treason you comitted now, but for every WiiU owner who really looked forward to this. Seriously Ubisoft, this is worse then murdering (almost worse)

  • Bravyoura

Not surprised they are French their not known for their will power, cough! WW2 cough!

  • Mickey Mouse

I can understand a delay, but delaying it 6 months just to make it multiplatform is irreprehensible. If nothing comes out in the indie developer space in the Wii U and 3DS eShops until LEGO City Undercover is released at the end of March, that I want to play, then I’ll have nothing new to play until then. The only new release for me will be Sim City Unlimited, and that’s a PC game. Meantime my Wii U and 3DS collect dust.

Oh, and I think Nintendo should sue the pants off Ubisoft, the lowlife traitors they are. So much for their strong support of Nintendo, they’ve been blinded by money.

  • YoG99

Well … it will be the first pre-order I will cancel.  I don’t respect a company like that.

  • Bravyoura

Zombi U’s next, with Pikmin pushed to tba and I’m no Lego fan it looks like Monster Hunter until september, great:'(

  • Silent

Are you kidding me? This wii u daily is not wii u anymore. These kinds of news makes the site look like an Anti-Nintendo site.

  • Bonez Grenz

wow ubisoft, just wow, i put up with your zombiu shortcomings, learned to absolutely love that game, didnt call you bitching when it glitched, resulting in total loss of play and items, and now this, I, no wii, have been waiting long enough, and now we must wait until you port it to sony and microsoft, grow some testicles and tell us here, on this board, how much they paid you,,,, this is ridiculous, not buying this game now, it had so much promise, to hell with you

  • Legion6789

I love my Wii U cause it’s a great console but I’m getting increasingly disappointed with this “launch window”.  I know the first year of any console lacks a large game library, but it really sucks that there’s a 3 month span with absolutely nothing coming out for the system besides indie titles on the eShop.

I don’t blame Nintendo; they obviously can’t force Ubisoft to release the game.  But I feel like Fry saying “Shut up and take my money!” but there’s just nothing out there that’s compelling that I don’t already have.

Cross platform titles are a hard sell for me most of the time since they usually don’t take advantage of the gamepad in a meaningful way.

Maybe Nintendo should force developers making exclusives for their console to include ‘U’ in the title to make it difficult for them to port their games without rebranding.

    • Elem187

Look on the bright side, the Wii U launched with 3 times as many titles as the PS3 did.

The PS3 and 360 had a much worse launch.

  • Mauricio Cordero

Outrage. Aliens delayed, Scribblenauts delayed, Rayman delayed and multiplatt, Ninja gaiden multiplatt.TOTAL FING OUTRAGE.

  • Well another move…well let them have there port the wii u version will be the best of them and let the sony drones get the weak version of the game while the wii u versions runs at true 1080p in HD

    • Elem187

But the game is no longer an insta-purchase for me… by September there will be ALOT more interesting games to pay attention to than Rayman Legends… Ubisoft just guaranteed that game became a renter.

  • Are… you… KIDDING ME?! First, we lose Resident Evil: Revelations as a 3DS exclusive! Now we’re losing Ninja Gaiden 3: Raizer’s Edge (the only good version of NG3) as an exclusive. And now… NOW we’re losing Rayman Legends as an exclusive?! Way to tell Nintendo fans to fuck off! We absolutely LOVE being told just where to shove it. Why are we not allowed to have good exclusives? Please… I would love to hear the oh so amazing excuse as to why we Nintendo fans are not allowed to have anything nice.

  • This is horrible news, Nintendo are in trouble here… regardless of how much money they have saved up!!

  • Lord Carlisle

I was just ready to buy ZombiU. Now they can kiss that sale and any future sales from me goodbye.

I can’t help but think that MS and/or Sony paid them off for the delay. I hope this game and Ubisoft as a whole fails.

  • andrewjcole

Grrr… Ubisoft! Never buying from you again!

  • andrewjcole

How will they do the frog guy that you control with the touch screen on an xbox or play station?

    • Elem187

      lol, AI simulate it 😉

  • DemonRoach

    lol rough patches.

  • kikkelipissi

    Ubisoft, you shouldn’t done that.
    Greetings from BEN.

  • Leathersoup

I guess someone else gets my money.

  • Elem187

I think Ubisoft just refused this $60 sitting in my hand…. See there isn’t very many games out for the Wii U, so when a new one comes out, I am more likely to purchase it immediately…..

Pushing it out to September is just guaranteeing I’ll be interested in something completely different at that time, making Rayman Legends a rental or wait for it at the bargain used bin at gamestop.

Ubisoft can’t be this tone deaf, can they?

  • Fred

    Please go here http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/752253-Ubisoft-s-rayman-legends-now-coming-to-xbox-360-and-playstation-3-Forums
and ask Ubisoft to allow Wii U owners to download the game through the eshop. I
did, maybe if enough of us do they’ll make that allowance.

  • Salvatore Fidanza

I guess they’re doing this to fuck up the PS3 and 360, because those consoles don’t have the gamepad so, the Wii U will have the best version of the game and it’ll show that the Wii U IS STRONGER THAN THE PS3 AND 360.

  • every other article now starts out as, “… no longer a wii u exclusive…”

as i said two days ago…

    how, fucking, sad…

  • Dominic Coradazzi

I realise it’s a good thing to make it multiplat and all, but dammit did they really have to push this game back so much?

  • Ubisoft pretty much screwed themselves. No competition in Feb with a Wii U release date. So that wouldve been instant sales and wouldve made it do better than origins which bombed in sales. Instead of guaranteeing success with the Wii U release in Feb,again with no competition.

They decide to push it back to September for the sake of multiplatform. Now I get why they did it, they want the extra money, its a business and honestly no one can fault them for that, but honestly it does the complete opposite for them, they now release in September.. against GTA V.

Not to mention, what incentive will people have to pick this up because this will be after E3, after people see what the PS4 can do and their games look like, after people see what the 720 looks like and what their games can do and after fans see new 3d mario, smash bros, retros game, etc. Why the hell are people going to want to buy Legends now? xD

    Ubisoft dun screwed themselves over

  • skid5jack

I’m honestly not surprised one bit by this. ZombiU has sold appallingly. They need to make a solid return and keeping things wiiu exclusive is just not a solid bet.
Bayonetta 2 will be next. Mark my words

    • EvanescentHero

Nintendo owns Bayonetta 2 now, so…nope.

    • DragonSilths

Nintendo is the Publisher of Bayonetta 2 so Nintendo owns that game. Its legally theirs.

  • bizzy gie

The Wii U has lost sales because of this. Ubisoft has lost sales because of this? How did they see this as a good move. They need to hop on the internet and take a look at all the ridicule here, on Nintendo Life, and on the Ubisoft forums. TONS of preorder cancellations. They’re losing sales a we speak.

  • Fred
  • LolWatTurtles

I’m not gonna rage about this like a lot of other foo’s. But this is a fucking terrible decision, foreal. I mean:

    1) The game pretty much loses all unique controller capability with the PS3 and Xbox360.

    2) While the Wii U will be running Rayman Legends in true 1080p 60FPS, PS3 and Xbox360 will be running it in upscaled from 480p to 1080p at barely 30 FPS.

    3) Pretty much ANY foo’s and fans that were buying this game were gonna buy it on launch day because it was literally 18 days. February was completely OPEN for them to get good sales with it, but pushing it back to September?

    4) They could at least foreal release it on the Wii U on it’s scheduled February 26th release date and just have the Xbox360 and PS3 versions be late downscaled (a lot) ports. But making all the Wii U owners and Rayman fans wait just so you can make ports of a supposed to be exclusive is just foreal fucked up and it WILL fuck over the sales.

    5) This honestly gives me a bad idea of exclusives from Ubisoft now. Foreal. Like ZombiU, the game has unique controller capabilities ONLY on the Wii U just like Rayman Legends, but they easily made the decision on Rayman Legends. Who’s to say they won’t try it with ZombiU. Foreal.

    6) You can tell this was a last minute quick decision for more money. I mean, they already released a DEMO of it. They were all ready to release it exclusively on Wii U in 18 days but they thought of more money and are now gonna make a MAJOR downscaled port of it. Like I said, Origins was completely under rated on ALL consoles. The sequel Legends actually HAD HYPE.

  • PKUltima

Smart business decision, but not a good way of earning Nintendo fan’s repect.

  • Sidney Majurie

Just flew in from the Ubisoft facebook page and boy are my fingers tired. Bah doo chhh 😀

  • Luis Mendes

now i ll boycott ubisoft and wont buy it

  • xdlugia

Geez… Just when Ubisoft gained my respect with Far Cry 3 and Assassin’s Creed 3, they do this and betray Nintendo and Nintendo’s fans who where excited for this game.

    I’m now resuming my 2010 Ubisoft boycott…

  • cade butler

Well first of all a dogs act to go back on this launch window promise  . Second of all , after playing the Rayman Demo & playing the new Mario Bros I know which one I’d rather play . Rayman is pretty , but tha’ts about it . Let them fail in September while we all play Ninty made gems 🙂

  • Rob Lucci

I dont understand why they are delaying the game for the WiiU? They can release the game NOW for the Wiiu then port it to the other consoles.Anyways by September the other consoles will be in their last months and people will be getting ready to buy the other “next gen” consoles, plus they will be more games available from all 3 majors consoles so people probably wont buy and game that was ready in February when they can play GTA5, Codmw4,mario kart etc.

    Boycott Rayman Legends lol

  • gnxleoo

im tired of all this BS wii u is getting. We need to make some youtube videos

  • Pretz3ls

  • I dont mind waiting but could they add a 3ds version of this. As they working on PS3 and Xbox360 version, why not release a 3ds version as well. I think the concept on Wiuu can be also used here for 3ds. Please Ubisoft

  • this isnt fair for nintendo fans. for one, we are not getting the Alien Colonial Marine game at the same time as the 360/PS3 version. we are getting it AFTER those two are released. So why the hell should we have to wait for those 2 of rayman legends to be released? give us our version now and make them wait like we had to wait. and another thing, they took away our exclusive because the other 2 fan bases were crying for it?? give me a fucking break, we are asking for GTA V and we are not getting it. this is bs. nintendo is always getting the short end of the stick. i should try to call ubisoft

  • Gabe Hoffman

Just spam Ubisoft with your reactions. When they see how pissed the Wii U fans are they will likely give us Legends this month its only the 7th of February. We still have a chance

  • .

  • Benjamin Berg

this is wrong like gamestop hasn’t changed anything at all so wth dude.

  • Linskarmo

Very disheartening news. Quite an extensive delay, and unless the Wii U version was falling behind schedule the only reason I see for the synchronized launch is to make other console owners feel better. I imagine it will still be an excellent game, though, whenever it is finally released.

  • JuleyJules

First off I would like to say I’m very disappointed by this delay.  I was looking forward to this game a lot after playing the demo.  I don’t see why it can’t come to Wii U now and others later.  I get why they’re going multiplayer but still it sucks.  We’ve been saying for a while we do want new games and at least now in February that is starting today with Ken’s Rage 2 on the eshop.  There will be other eshop games soon too.  In March there are a bunch of games starting to come out in North America including Lego City and Monster Hunter plus a bunch of ones that are multiplatforms.  Looking forward to a release date (soon) for Aliens Colonial Marines!  Perhaps once the big Nintendo games start to come they’ll be in a better spot down the line to set up more exclusive games like Zelda, 3D Mario, Mario Kart plus new ones we may not have heard of yet.  Maybe then they’ll actually be able to work out deals with other publishers for exclusives or timed exclusives at least.  Wii U games are going to be unique compared to 360/PS3 even if they all come out together.  I’ve realized that there are a lot of people who like 360 or PS3 or Nintendo which won’t change.  Some may have more than one for exclusives.  So my point is that if Nintendo can start to show that the Wii U is powerful and selling we might see more multiplatforms down the line.  After all this is only going into the 3rd month since release and I’ve read many times that the 360, PS3, 3DS and Vita all struggled right off the bat.  Can March just get here so we can get to new games??

  • jobyh

ok wtf ubisoft. new mario kart, 3d mario, hd zelda, pikmin 3 etc. im even going to japan this september, im not going to have enough money for this game anymore! what a stupid move ubisoft, you’re gonna lose a lot of money from this decision…

  • MasterPpv

    Guys, please understand something.

Ubisoft did this because their fans asked for it. They didn’t do it to screw over Nintendo.

I am very disappointed that the game has been delayed for as long as it has, but I’m OK with that as long as they are taking that time to make it the best possible game it can be.

As for it no longer being an exclusive, just try to think of it from the perspective of XBOX and PS3 gamers. They now have a really fun platformer to look forward to that they really wanted on their respective systems. That is a win for gaming in general.

Is it unfair that their prayers are getting answered when our prayers for exclusives, same-day releases, etc. weren’t for some time, and many still aren’t? Perhaps. But I personally think Ubisoft has done a fantastic job so far of supporting the Wii U – better than pretty much every other third-party developer / publisher, in fact. This is simply them giving their fans what they want.

There is a part of me that wishes this were still an exclusive on the grounds that I want the Wii U to have great third-party exclusives and feel that this is one of the key things that Nintendo needs to prove it has this time around, but I understand.

Let’s not hate for the sake of hating every time we feel that someone has wronged us. The gaming community can do a lot better than that.

    • lumpy182

No one should be pi$$ed at it going multiplatform. Thats actually good news as more poeple should enjoy the game.

Its the WiiU delay people are really annoyed with.

Unfortunately, they aren’t doing it becuase ” their fans asked them to” they’re doing it because they dont want to risk losing out on sales to the massive PS360 userbase, for the sake of releasing early on the relatively small WiiU userbase. They’re gambling that they’ll sell more this way.

Fans ‘feelings’ dont come into it.

      • MasterPpv

Agreed. As I see it, the delay is the only thing that anyone who wants to complain should complain about, although like I said, if they take the extra time to make the game better overall, then that’s fine, at least in my book.

As for “doing it for the fans”, that was pretty much exclusively referring to the whole going multiplatform deal. My bad if what I wrote somehow suggested that the delay was “for the fans” too.

  • Jizz Beard thePirate

September… thats when GTA V is gonna come out… good luck getting sales there ubisoft, u traitor

  • john madsen

Man people are ****** as heck

  • Why are people hating on Ubisoft for this decision? Obviously Nintendo didn’t provide a good enough incentive to be exclusive on their console.

NBA JAM, No More Heroes & Goldeneye for Wii are prime examples of 3rd party software that got announced as “EXCLUSIVE” for Nintendo and within a year was already being targeted to opposition consoles.

The term ‘exclusive’ these days means giving a company first release providing they reach the sales margins. It’s Nintendo’s responsibility to keep exclusive content on their system, not the 3rd party developers. They need to make money too.

    • Jeffrey Debris

It’s not so much system exclusivity as it is the fact that the release has been delayed by six months when the game is already done for Wii U that pisses most people off I believe…

  • lumpy182

I’m not even remotely bothered by the multiplatform thing (why would I be?) – but the delay on WiiU is despicable. They happily rode the hype/publicity generated by a new console launch, probably knowing full well that they’d end up doing this. They also dont seem too bothered about all the fans who may have pre-ordered their game and were expecting to play it in a few weeks! Fair enough if there was a decent reason for the delay – but there isn’t.

Its simply so that they don’t damage sales on PS3/360 by releasing a 7 month old game on those platforms in September.

”We decided to give the fans what they wanted” he says. Yeah, sure: The 360/PS3 fans that is, whilst crapping on the WiiU fans. Apparently they heard all the fans who wanted to play it on their current consoles…..well can they now hear all the fans who wanted to play it this month on THEIR current console?

I wish they’d just be honest and say “It’s business. Simultaneous release guarantees more sales on the larger userbase of PS/360, rather than taking the relatively small potential sales on WiiU now, and damaging sales on other platforms later on.” I’d at least have respected them for that. Its the fact that they’re trying to veil it as some kind of honourable move.

  • val berger

    A Rayman developer’s statement:

  • Agent X

Fuck you!!!! UBISOFT. They should have just released it on Wii U first.
Now i wont even remember the game we it comes out

  • Nintengoth

What the bloody hell is going on! no wonder the WiiU aint doing great no games are out for it! and all the awesome “exclusives” are not exclusive! its like Resi 4 all over again lol this shit needs to stop!

  • bizzy gie

We better not lose Bayonetta 2.

  • Well, since they decided to go multi-platform I bet the culprit here is Microsoft and their policy of not wanting games released on other platforms before. And of course Ubisoft isn’t going to throw the opportunity  away just to release first on WiiU.
Honestly this was one of the 2 games that convinced me to get a WiiU. Oh well

  • Ubisoft are idiots for this one big time. Not only did you mess up your relationship with Nintendo and pissed off Wii U owners worldwide, but now you are gonna compete with GTA V in September… Where is the common sense here? Do they really think they can match up to GTA V????? You will see low sales because of this Ubisoft…. So stupid!!

  • Rayman sales will be bad.  Why!?!?  Because by the time this game is released, other more desirable games will be on the cusp for all platforms, not just Nintendo.

Not smart Ubisoft, not smart at all.

  • Christopher Columbus

This is so lame.  Everything about the Wii U is just going downhill.  All of these third parties are stupid considering the Wii U provides way better graphic capabilities,  touch screen controls,  and the awesome ability to play games on the gamepad.  Why are all the third party developers so moronic.

I’ve already beat all the good Wii U launch titles and now the system just feels like it has no content.  I LOVE the system… but I desperately need a reason to use it.  Having to wait months and months just to have a new game to play on this thing is ridiculous.

Clearly Ubisoft are a bunch of wimps and so they are expanding it to the other well established systems which are safe bet.   Meanwhile the Wii U version is clearly better than whatever they will release on the 360 or PS3.   The touch controls are important to the game play.

JUST RELEASE IT ALREADY… worry about the other consoles at another time.
