In the latest developer demo for Rayman Legends, Michel Ancel and Emile Morel show off a new luchador-themed boss battle, as well as how Murphy will help you through the levels. In addition to this new boss battle, Ancel also mentions that the game will feature forty remastered levels from the original Rayman Origins, which was released to much fan fare in 2011.

The game is heading to Wii U on September 3rd. What do you think of this new boss battle and the fact that you’ll be able to visit some of the original levels from Rayman Origins? Let us know in the comments below!

My cock is ready for this game. Loved Rayman!!!!!

    • Maybe you should play video games with your fingers on the controller. You may do better. πŸ˜‰

      • Destructonator101

And maybe he could try typing with his hands too. πŸ™‚

  • John Smith

I have never been a Rayman Legends fan before but this game really looks good!
I am more a Mario fan than any other franchise but I like this the same as I like Mario!

  • Justis Bistawros

This game should of just stayed a wii u exclusive this game should sell way better than other console versions i mean you can use the touch screen to get through the stage and move the gamepad around.

Watch again to refresh your memories!.

    • Mario

Oh I remember all right! And the WiiU version is so much better!

  • Guhtere

Why are they playing the Xbox 360 version? Isn’t the Wii U version the superior version?

    • The Clockwork Being

      The superior and real version.

    • Andreas Sunde

To show how lame the PS360 version is, of course!

    • bizzy gie

When listing platforms, he listed Wii U last even behind PS Vita.

    • tomtank91

it was showing how Murphy works on the other versions. The Wii U version looks and plays so much better than the other versions.

    • val berger

because the WiiUinstall base VS the XB360/PS3-installbase and the money you can either get or lose by supporting or ignoring those install bases.

Fans should stop their whining now. As long as a developer like Ubisoft doesn’t get some funds from Nintendo to support the with exclusive content, they just don’t have any commitment for such a level of support. And creating a multi-million$ production for a system with barely any install base is a freaking high risk. sure, everything was quite bad communicated and I don’t really get it, why they didn’t release the wiiU version first and half year later the version for the other systems. But in the end, it’s business. Ubi has already shown great support by creating a super unique launchtitle, which actually was one of about 2 original launch titles for the system. And what did they get for that? it wasn’t a success and all they got was loss, thanks to the missing 1st party support. This discussion is taking like forever now and fans still don’t really get it. 3rd party studios don’t devlope for fun and love, it’s a business and a small studio could just stop existing if they would’ve relied on a success of their WiiU-software. Like always, all we can say now is, wait and see how everything develops. Thanks to the upcoming months of WiiU releases, chances aren’t too bad that studios like Ubi Soft may soon get back on supporting the system, but it’s not the 3rd parties who need to make the first steps for a new system. There’s a reason, why 1st and 2nd parties are called like that.

    • Clel

      Kinda strange, yeah.

  • CharmanderRulz

So they needed to take away Murphy’s free movement, the fire from the first level, a 5th player, make the Murphy competitive challenges useless (if they will even be in the other versions) and I don’t even know how they will change the levels where you need to erase only parts of platforms! I feel sorry for the devs needing to make all these changes that worsen the game.

  • Zombie Boy

I’d of considered buying this six months ago, but with Sonic Lost World and Mario 3D World just around the corner (and Super Mario Bros U already in my collection), I think I’ll wait for my platforming fix. Besides, I only have so much money, and there are loads of other games I want to get around the time of Rayman’s new release date (including Watch Dogs). Sorry Ubisoft, but you dropped the ball on this one.

    • thedeciderU

yeah they had an opportunity to cash out on this in february. a main reason i bought the wii u day one was for this, and now i don’t really care that much because so many other games are coming out.

      • FaTih

But it would’ve been a good exclusive :'(

    • Fred

Mario 3D world is 6 months away.

      • Zombie Boy

Only 4 months after this game is released, and there’s plenty of big games coming out during those 4 months (including other platformers). Games that I’d rather buy over this one. It wasn’t the case back in February, but Ubisoft missed their window of opportunity and now have to deal with the competition. Buy it, by all means (it still looks good), but personally I’ll wait for the others now.

  • Andrew

Murphy looks very hindering in this version. I’ll stick with the Wii U.

  • thedeciderU

sooo, does anyone know if they changed the wii u version or just adapted other consoles to fit without the touch play?

    • Unimportant Bystander

Nope no changes. Everything will stay the same for Wii U. With this gameplay, it is now safe to say that the Wii U will the have the definitive version of Rayman Legends.

      • Mario

  • mojack411

Wow, I had completely forgot about this game since it was delayed to go multi-platform. My hype for it has completely died. Not sure if I’m gonna get it still with so many other games coming out at the same time.

    • Rafael Saldana

Same here, did you all notice how the resolution doesn’t look nearly as good as the wii U version

  • Pikachief

Like others, I would’ve loved to buy Rayman back before it was delayed. With Pikmin, Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost World, W-101, DK: Tropical Freeze, and Wind Waker HD on Wii U alone, I just don’t have money or time to get this game anymore. Maybe someday in the future…

  • aldomiro

Ubisoft should have released this on the Wii U as planned I just don’t see many people buying it now that all the big releases are coming out.

    • greengecko007

Hopefully the sales that will be lost to other games will balance out with the sales gained across the multiple platforms it’s releasing on. It’d be a shame for a development team to get blamed because of an executive decision.

      • aldomiro

Hopefully they didn’t spend too much money on it, and they can give it a competitive price. Either way, I wouldn’t be surprised if the Wii U version outsells the others, it just seems like it was made for a Nintendo audience.

        • sdmac200600

That and it was made with the Wii U in mind so no doubt it will be the definitive version of the game. I’m not even sure if the other console versions are gonna be running at even 720p 60 fps.

        • greengecko007

Competitive price? I doubt the cost of the game will defer from system to system, if that’s what you mean…

    • val berger

wouldn’t have bought it anyway but after the challenges app, I really started thinking about getting it. they should’ve released the game just about then. after buying P3 and W101 and around the same time of GTAIV and SC:Blacklist, it’s just not gonna happen. although I’m kinda looking forward picking it up later on, when it’s price drops down to something 30$ish.

  • Negatron99

So… After… Pikmin 3, Wind Waker, Pokemon Rumble U, Pokemon X, I was going to try Splinter Cell as my first of it’s type, Zelda A Link between worlds, along with working while I’m doing all this, maybe in a few years I’ll finally get Rayman, assuming they haven’t crippled it to backport it for the other systems.

  • atl hawks

This further proves why this should of stayed exclusive and release on time. They completely nerfed Murphy in the PS360 versions when the main point of the character was interactivity. Furthermore, why would anybody buy the PS360 versions when they can save up for GTA V and with Wonderful 101 and Pikmin 3 nobody going to buy the WiiU version.

    • Fred

Don’t say nobody cause I’m going to buy the Wii U version

      • sd

I think it will sell less than half the number of copies In September than if it were released in Feb/March.

      • atl hawks

I meant that if it will just release on time in the month that pretty much was void of competition as I said in my first paragraph than Ubisoft wouldn’t have to worry about the risk of making Wii U exclusive games.

  • tomtank91

seriously the levels specifically made for the Wii U look ridiculous on Xbox, I don’t like it. It’s the Wii U version FTW.

    • Elem187

I can’t wait to read all the reviews that compare the different platforms

      • tomtank91

        Yeah same here

  • tomtank91

I’ve only really liked the first Rayman game but playing the Challange app everyday on Rayman Legends and with the controls of the Wii U makes it so good I won’t be passing on this like I did Origins, Plus I like that 40 levels of Origins will be included in the game with revamped gameplay and graphics.

  • JeanPaul Badjo

    Man this game is gorgeous…

  • Joyous Killer

Damn, It just isn’t fun without the game-pad. It looks utterly lame, Annoying really… I feel sorry for those who can not experience it on the Wii U. I mean, you guys have tried Murphy’s Dungeon challenges right? Now looks like all you have to do now is press a button… How lame….

  • Destructonator101

Obviously Xbox and PS3 has the inferior version to the Wii U version of the game.

Why? The use of murphy on the PS3 and 360 seems to be totally unnatural, and un-innovative.

    • Vialtoclef

Yeah, they wanted to make all the versions as similar as possible so people would buy all of them equally. Remember when Ubisoft said that Murphy’s Dungeon would be exclusive to Wii U? And the challenge app? Well, at least they added more levels…

  • Only a few are true gamers

I’ll pass and wait for it to be used due to what they did in the past to this game by putting it on the other two..Sorry Ubi You’re not getting my money on this

  • DragonSilths

Soon as the guy mentioned Xbox 360 and PS3 at the beginning, I closed the video.

  • sd

The real question is whether ubisoft realise that lower sales on the wiiu are be due to the delay. Or will they be a bit simple and say “look at the low WiiU sales, glad we went multiplatform”.

I am unfortunately not buying it now. I have Pikmin 3 , W101, Zelda and maybe splintercell. Thats enough around then for me.

  • Uhhh… I thought murphy was supposed to be WiiU only…

  • TULFich

    Better on Wii U

  • Baum γ€Œγƒ„γƒͺー」

lol…the elements with murphy don’t even fit into the game without the touchscreen…or at least they seem to be totally senseless and kinda like they had to force something into the game…

  • crocodileman94

Remember to buy the game when it’s released. If the WiiU version outsells the other versions combined, those guys at Ubisoft might realise they didn’t need to make the game multi platform. By not buying the game, we’ll just prove them right…

  • Mario

I think we can agree that the WiiU version of this game will be the superior version. Right?

    • Elem187

Easily… it shouldn’t even be up for debate.

  • Marcos Crill Colon

Look how there there controlling Murphy lol the game play is nothing like on wii u …on the ports its seems like now since theres no touch screen it breaks the flow of the game or slows it down or am I seeing thing lol

  • Johny

i feel kinda sad. i was SOOO hyped for this game, but the hype died as it got delayed and stuff… im not hating on the game or anything… its true. and its sad. i love rayman. maybe i’ll pick it up at some later time when the dust of the relevant games coming soon settles
