Nintendo has released a Rayman Legends demo on the Wii U eShop, and later today, it should be followed by a demo of Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed. The latter game has been out for a while on the Wii U, while Rayman Legends recently received an official release date: the Ubisoft platformer is coming to the Wii U on February 26, 2013.

Little is known about the Sonic & All-Stars Racing demo, but the Rayman Legends demo weighs in at about 580 MB and includes three stages: “Teensies in Trouble”, “Toad Story”, and “Castle Roc”. Ubisoft even released a demo trailer, which you can see below:

  • I’m on the eShop right now. the demo is 1172 MB (aka 1.17 gigs)

    • I hate the way the eshop is set up, i am searching for the demo and cannot find it!  GRR!

      • Ok found it.  🙂

The eShop seems to have a learning curve, but I personally feel that it’s organized well. It’s just kind of foreign right now.

      • just search rayman. rayman legends was like, the second result 😛

    • Threinfhir

      Actually known as 1.144 gigs. 1GB = 1024MB

      • Herp derp… Thanks

      • Jeffery02

Actually 1172 MB IS 1.17 GB. Did you know that a 500 GB HDD is actually 500 GB? It reads as 465 GB however because the computer calculates it in terms of GiB even if it tells you that it’s in GB. 500 GB = 465 GiB. I don’t like Apple, but I will admit that they are the only ones I have ever seen to not go for efficiency and actually tell you how much memory you actually have. If you don’t know what a GiB (aka Gibibyte) then look it up. It may surprise you.

Thanks for the info. I’ll look into it.

Btw, sorry if I came off arrogant. XD I tend to act like a know-it-all

          • Threinfhir

            Not at all, my friend.

Are there play time limitations like FIFA 13 where you can only play 10 times?

    • Cesar Barroso

yes. but rayman is 30 times
      i think that is enough

We need more demos. A lot of people like previewing a game through game play before buying it. I wasn’t going to buy Rayman.. But now i’m thinking about it. I thought it was just kiddie, but it’s actually very visually pleasing. Bright sharp visuals, colorful, etc. Hmm.. To other Devs: bring us demos. You’ll sell more.

  • Jeffery02

This is amazing news! I’ve actually been tempted to get Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed, but I wasn’t sure if I’d like it making it a potential $40 waste. I was just hoping for a demo and now it’s here! Nintendo just needs to try to get companies to release more demos so that people will be less hesitant on getting games. Would you get AC3 on the Wii U as opposed to the PS3 if you’re unsure on how it’ll be handled by the Wii U hardware? A demo would help that decision. Just saying

i like the way you think. ive never played any ac and a demo would be nice to see if i like it

  • Hmm it said available March the 1st or is that the release date for Europe perhaps? And US 26th of February? looks fun though, I agree that more demo’s should be made available indeed, makes it easier for us to decide whether or not to buy the final game 🙂

The Sonic racing demo must be U.S only, ’cause it’s not in my eShop.

    • Oscar Gómez Méndez

Americas: Canada, USA (of course), Mexico and some other fortunate Latino countries. P.S. I’m in Mexico BTW!!

try looking for: “rayman” and “sonic” on the eShop and tap on the icon then, there is the download option. Good Luck! where R U from again?

      • Mickey Mouse

Searched ‘Sonic’ and it only had the full game. I’m from the U.K.

  • Oscar Gómez Méndez
