Over the past few months, we’ve seen an explosion of games seeking funding on Kickstarter that intend to support the Wii U upon release. This can be attributed to Nintendo lowering the requirements to be considered for a dev kit and it’s great news for those of us who love trying out new games. The latest game to seek funding with Wii U support is Rawbots, a multi-player sandbox style crafting game.

The game centers around building and programming your own robots, which you can then use in the game to alter the world around you. The creator of the Kickstarter likens the game to virtual Lego Mindstorm models, which seems to be a pretty apt comparison. Right now the creators are seeking $300,000 in order to create Rawbots. They’ve received $2,000 of that goal with 31 days left on the clock.

The basic tier of $20 will get you a copy of the game once its released, so if you like the above trailer and think it’s something you’d like to see in the Wii U eShop, consider supporting the Rawbots team.

    That’s all.

  • I won’t have time for a game like this, but it still looks cool!

  • Elem187

Wow… This is like that show where teams build their own robots and throw them in a ring with other teams that built a robot and duke it out… pretty awesome.

    • makkan

i watched that when i was little good times good times

  • Alex

More and more games are coming on the eshop, and this just amazing.

    • Waluigi Galaxy for the eshop coming soon!!!

  • The_fuzz_buzz

This makes Minecraft look like My Little Ponies…

    • Jon

have you even played minecraft? Minecraft you start with nothing and you survive, this looks like you build your robot, build your terrain and fight other robots, it’s not really that similar to minecraft at all.

      • The_fuzz_buzz

I LOVE Minecraft, I’m a Redstone master in fact. But this puts MC to shame….

    • waluigi

You mean it makes minecraft epic

      • The_fuzz_buzz

I mean it puts Minecraft to shame!

        • waluigi

I was talking about my little pony

          • The_fuzz_buzz

My Little Pony makes everything worse, including it self!

          • waluigi

I think it is a good show.

    • aldo2410

any one of the games that I know have the same game mechanics than Minecraft, is just a survival game, you built your house, your tools, even your food, and redstone mecanisms, if you never played minecraft you have to.
P.S.( you even can go to the hell (nether))

  • Jack5221

Okay this looks really cool, but at the same time the customization of your robots comes off a little confusing. I might have to wait for a review before I get it. I have a good feeling about the reviews though πŸ™‚

    • Glovechicken

      Me too πŸ™‚

  • $41809923

please yes bring it to the wii u

  • Okay, not to be a downer, the game looks amazing, but they need to raise a LOT of money in order to make it happen…

  • IntrepidEmu

This looks amazing. I hope it gets funding. I’ll probably donate to it myself if I have the money to.

  • discuss

If it gets a multiplayer fighting options this will be super cool. If it won’t get that it will probably get boring after just a few days.

  • Nintendofreak

any game that has robots that u can customize is a must buy for me

  • Ever since Unity and Nintendo partnered up, we’ve been seeing a lot of indie developers actually developing games for the Wii U πŸ˜€

This is a great sign! This shows that even if you are an indie developer, you can still develop for a mainstream gaming console :3

  • Jason Setley

Looks, awesome, I hope they get make the Kickstarter, I hope the ingame physics are well done

  • kenny Johnson

I threw in $5 for the Kickstarter.

  • Nintendofreak

      • dylanbob121

        I liked it….

      • Nintyfan

        Isn’t Tank! Tank! Tank! free?

      • Chiwawaboi

The only thing I used it for was to make my wii u menu to look cooler.

  • Kevin Sepulveda

  • Only a few are true gamers

Very cool and this looks like another buy for me ..I hope they get the money

  • DemonRoach

    • JumpMan

dude, sandboxes are amazing. i have no idea what you’re talking about.

  • Robot Rage meets Spore meets Twisted Metal. I’m sold.

  • Jacob Brown

I thought nintendo was giving free dev kits not just cheaper one’s

  • deadmansam

Wii U is an Indie machine – face it. If there ends up being more indie games than 1st and 2nd party games that would be ….. Just …. Ugh.

    • Magnus Eriksson

First of all its a failing machine. What we see with the indies is not a good and healthy sign. It is done out of pure desperation. This is what Nintendo should be doing instead:

    • Gregg

Wait, INDIE games are BAD? That’s news to me…

    • Jimmy D. Fugate

I agree, there needs to be more attention put on retail games at this point. Or Nintendo should pick up some more development studios.

  • Johny

    this looks complex

  • Nintyfan

Sandbox games suit the Wii U Gamepad controller really well! This game looks very fun.

  • Nintendude

Going to get this. No doubt.

  • YiyeUniverseMB

Looks like Wii U is the console made for indie devs. Nice!

  • Nadie

I donΒ΄t like the sandbox games, but this looks amazing! The possibilities are great.

  • Linskarmo

What I really like about Kickstarter (and just found out) is that money is only taken from your pocket if the goal is reached. This game looks to be awesome, so I’ve pledged 20 bucks.

  • Kalis Konig

I am all for more games but god all these Kick Starters are getting out of hand. Movies, Games, Comics. Everything is relying on this system and it is getting a bit annoying. When Yu Suzuki said he wouldn’t mind launching a kick Starter for Shenmue 3 I lost it.
