If you’re excited about the release of Project Cars coming up this year, you should be doubly excited to see the new box art for the game. This box art is taken from European retailer GAME, where the game is currently available for pre-order for £39.99. The game is slated to have multiple racing modes, including F1 racing.

If you’re not sure whether or not you’re interested in the game, be sure and check out the E3 trailer shown below. The game looks to be one of the definitive racing games for Wii U owners, especially considering the current racing game offerings are mostly kart racers aside from Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which is more arcade in nature. The game will be available this November.

Are you excited about this release?

Thanks, Bistricky!

    Day one for me.

  • great deku tree

I like having a good mix of racers. normally for every generation I have at least 1 Mario kart, a burnout and/or need for speed and then a serious racer like this one. For entertainment I love messing about in Mario kart and burnout/need for speed but sometimes I like to sit and do some serious racing.

I’ve still to get need for speed most wanted u but I’ll be getting that soon enough along with project cars and SSB4 sometime this year.

    • Most Wanted U is really a great game.

      • Justin Carlson

I just wish it had more camera angle options. I drive best with a bonnet/hood camera.

    • Gameonfool

CARMAGEDON , reminds me of the N64 days. Oh the memories.

      • Epicstuf

Of running over old ladies, civlians, and (I Thnk) cows?

  • Ducked

Good, I thought it was digital only.

  • Lil J Moore

    Can’t wait

  • Des

Project Cars? Talk about a dumb name. Who thought up that title?

    • Daniel Gonzalez
    • abe

it’s project C.A.R.S (Community Assisted Racing Simulator) since its community helped shape the game. preety sure they picked the words to fit the word CARS though lol

    • palomino blue

I hoped it was just a working title until they announced a release date. I suppose companies have come up with worse. “Revolution” turned into “Wii”…

      • bistricky

Unless there is a last minute change of heart, Project CARS is the official title.

        • FutureFox

Its a title that gets the job done. I mean when I first heard of people talking about “The Crew” I had no idea what kind of game it was. I had assumed another shooter. At least with “Project CARS” there’s no mistaking it; plus given its all about customization and the journey through different racing campaigns, there probably isn’t a much better title that 1) Let’s people know what it is 2) the endeavor of making your car a project within the game towards racing supremacy.

Its cars and the inner workings of car enthusiasts’ world.

          • bistricky

I suspect you are right on the money on why Slightly Mad Studios has chosen to keep the title for their game as Project CARS (when often “Project” would indicate a working title …. as in Project Robot by Nintendo).
I think Slightly Mad has something very special here. Now that they have a publisher they have been extremely pumped on their website.
            Cheers ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Sdudyoy

Still looking forward to this game, definitely getting the Wii U version!

    • Josiah Parsons

I will get it for Wii U, but I think it might be better on Xbone or PS4 just because they have analog triggers. Anyone who has played NFS:MW on Wii U has probably noticed.

      • Justin Carlson

        I have noticed ๐Ÿ™
I would like to plugin my wavebird and use those analog triggers.

        • bistricky

Concerning Wii U not having analog triggers ….

Back in 2013, Slightly Mad said this:

“The controller makes all the difference really. The ability to use it as a gyroscopic steering wheel, your track map, your rear-view mirror, your telemetry screen, an input device for changing your pit strategy, menu navigation etc.. thatโ€™s where youโ€™ll be seeing the unique, enhanced experience that the gamepad offers over the standard Microsoft and Sony controllers. Gamers concerned over the digital triggers shouldnโ€™t be โ€“ you can play Project CARS with keyboard keys that are inherently digital and we do input filtering to mimic the same effect as a pedal or analog trigger.”

          Cheers ๐Ÿ˜€

    • nin-10-doughfan

wii u all the way! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • Arthur Jarret

Bad news: Wii U version is delayed to 2015 (while the other versions are still being released).

Of course, this will cause lower sales – and instead of admitting this is due to a delayed release devs will blame it on the Wii U (audience) itself and use it as an excuse to delay or not release DLC, future games and the like.

    • matthew garcia

I just found out today this game is delayed on Wii u til 2015. All other consoles will still get the the game on November but not Wii u. This is starting to become laughable

  • abe

I really want this and will pick this up for Wii U (all ready have a Sim Racer on my other machine) howeve i would be lying if i didn’t say i wasn’t worried how this was going to play with Digital Triggers

    • they might include some pseudo-analog implementation like in Most Wanted U where you’d boost with the unused analogstick.
bad alternative, but at least something.

      • abe

Actually I have caught !myself recently using the R stick on Mario Kart 8

        • MerryBlind .

Wait… You can accelerate/brake with the right stick in MK8???

          • abe

Yeah its meant to be used with the gyro controls

          • MerryBlind .

Didn’t know that. Will probably still use A though…

          • didn’t know that either =)

        • YogiGRB

hahaha me to, i like it like that. no breaking in corners just a tad bit slower/lifting than usually

  • Justin Carlson

So it’s a racing game and the box art shows a person and not a car?
I still want it, but I don’t get the marketing.

    • Maybe because it still transports the message while every other racing game would have relied on the basic way to show that theme off.

    • bistricky

Likely to be different. Its a new racing sim franchise …. I guess, the marketing is that you the racer is the star.

      • Justin Carlson

Thanks. It makes a bit more sense now.

Not a racing fan but want to this. I’ll be buying this on the wiiu

  • bistricky

Slightly Mad Studios is also running a poll …. to see which platform gamers are planning to play Project CARS on ……

You may be very surprised with the results ….

    Check it out: http://www.projectcarsgame.com/home/which-platform-are-you-getting-project-cars-on

    Cheers ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Kay Wrobel

Nice! Wii U most wanted platform for this game, followed by Steam/Linux & Windows by a close margin. Then a small gap to the PS4, and then… ooooooooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh what happened to the Xbox there? But you know why? They are content with Forza 5 and don’t care about this game.

      • greengecko007

A lot of Xbox One owners probably don’t care because Forza Horizon 2 is coming out 2 months before this game. It’s good to see that Wii U owners are excited about this game though. Hopefully that poll will reflect actual sales.

    • Sdudyoy

Yeah, I think a big part of it is that the Wii U doesn’t have a driving simulator, where other consoles already have one, but to me Project CARS looks funner than other driving simulators.

  • I really want this game for racing and supporting the developer, but my budget is so tight with other games for wii u coming out.

  • Such an ugly looking box art but yet such a beautiful game. I’m hoping to get this at launch, regardless.

  • David Trail

I’m not even a racing fan but this looks like it might be fun to play. Is it more of a arcade racer or sim?

    • bistricky

      It is a sim.

  • Iflywright

This game can’t come soon enough for me!

  • Googs

That’s some very nice box art, if only all of them looked that nice.

  • jhell

wii u version all the way

  • darkcreap

This game looks tempting. Only problem is that I have never been a racing game fan. I might consider picking it up if I can use it for multiplayer, though.

  • Logan Waltz

don’t know if it’s my computer or signal, but that game could use some serious anti-aliasing.

  • Rinslowe

I’m pretty hyped about this game. Love a good racer. The box art is just so so though, imo.

  • leo

  • gamerer72

my poor wallet. going to be an expensive 4th quarter.

  • Woopigsooie

The box art is pretty nice, but it seems like it would make more sense to feature- oh, I don’t know- maybe a car?

  • Mitch Hall

Well, guess I’ll be picking it up now that we know there’s going to be a retail version. As a collector, having a physical box for my games is pretty important to me.

  • Petri

Uh, not too sure about this game, but if it comes to my retailer, might pick it up.
Though still would be nice to have the option for wheel and pedals.

  • TomDobo

The game will be out this November ? Well have I got bad news for is wii u owners. Looks like we are waiting until 2015 for this game. http://www.videogamer.com/wiiu/project_cars/news/project_cars_wont_release_on_wii_u_until_2015.html

  • Project Cars for WiiU delayed! Release: 2015.

When I said, that I was pretty sure, it would be delayed, people didn’t believe me.
    Sorry folks.

  • Shaise

So it is an actual retail game!!!
