For those who enjoyed the release of the special edition Mario and Luigi Wii remotes last year, you’ll probably be happy to see Princess Peach is getting her own special edition as well. This announcement was made by Nintendo of America, so we don’t know if it will be making the transition to Europe just yet, though it’s likely since both the Mario and Luigi versions were eventually available there.

The unique thing about the controller aside from it’s stunningly pink color is the iconic crown print near the speakers. The buttons also feature in yellow and blue, which are the same colors used on her jewelry. The new remote will be available in stores starting this month and will retail for $39.99.

Will you be picking one of these up to complete your collection, or do you already have too many Wii remotes as it is?

I imagine Toad sat at home watching the announcement, in a dirty undershirt and boxers – unshaven and drunk, yelling something about how back in Super Mario 2 people appreciated him.

    • I didn’t even appreciate him then. He had the worst jump. 😐

    • Keith

Seriously….stop posting. Your making us American’s seem retarded!!

      • Decker Shado

Oh my… you’re right! How could I be so blind?!?!

Thank you sir. Just for you, I will never post again. I will cut off my internet today! FOR AMERICA!

        • Keith

          If only….

  • ZeldaFan83

Where are the Metroid Zelda Wii Remotes?…come on Nintendo, release some cool, epic, hardcore Wiimotes.

    • Jeremy Baker

They already made a gold Zelda one it came with skyward sword

      • ZeldaFan83

I know. It would be nice to have one like these Mario remotes that isn’t limited to a very few Skyward Sword bundles that are now over $200. I want a Zelda Wiimote very badly but I’m not paying $150-$200 for one. So it would be great if they released some from other franchises like Zelda or Metroid. A Link or Ganon remote would be cool or a Samus or Dark Samus remote would be EPIC. Anyway I guess that’s just wishful thinking…

        • Keith

If you “want” all these things then start purchasing a lot of Wii U inventory!!

          • ZeldaFan83

Oh I have more Wii U “Inventory” than most, I own 14 Wii U games, 32 Wii Games, 2 Pro Controllers, 2 Wii Remotes and Nunchuk Controllers, 20 Indie Games and 31 Virtual Console games.

          • Keith

Very nice. Now just try to get everyone you know & don’t know to get a Wii U 😉

    • kentray1985

Now you know thats too much to ask from Nintendo!

    • Wooopigsooie

How about some hardcore Pro controllers? I’d imagine an orange Samus one would look epic! Seriously though, I already have 4 wiimotes and I would imagine many owners do as well, so why not endorse the remote that is actually supposed to the systerm’s main, secondary controller, if that makes sense. I know I only have one Pro and would love to see some Smash Bros. Pro Controller bundle.

    • ed

There is a gold remote for zelda. Skyward Sword limited edition. I got one of them with the gold nunchuk from nintendo club.

  • Christian Schoff

Which means they’ll make a blue one with a mushroom symbol for Blue Toad.

  • Jeremy Baker

I will be picking that up, it will go perfect with my Mario, Luigi and Zelda Wiimotes

    • Keith

  • jjbredesen

This is nice and all, but they should be selling special edition pro controllers and gamepads as that is what is the primary Wii U input, it would help the confusion as i can imagine that when people see the new WII mote is out, they will still think Wii is the current system.

    • Keith

I agree on the special edition pro controllers.

    • palomino blue

I agree. These do still work on the original Wii though. With the amount of Wiis versus Wii Us in consumers’ homes they probably feel like they can sell more remotes than pro controllers.

    • Rinslowe

Although I’m totally into these special addition Wii motes, you have a good point.

    • Josiah Parsons

I want a special edition Pro Controller to come with my Super Smash Bros. Black with the flaming blue cross thingy, maybe?

    • Usaamah

I would love a Peach Pro Controller. That’s exactly what I thought when I saw this. Why are they still producing NEW versions of the Wiimotes?

All I want is a Donkey Kong controller.

      Amen to that!

All I want is a Rosalina Wii remote

    • Josiah Parsons

      I sorta want a Toad one…

Yeah, but I like turquoise more than regular blue
Is my artist side showing again…..?

        • Josiah Parsons

The white spots would Toad-ally make it.

          Couldn’t resist

  • X3Charlie

I just wish they would either
    A) Update the controller, more buttons, analog triggers, best possible motion detection, teaks.
    B) Lower the price and bundle the Nunchuck with it.
