Pokemon Rumble U‘s first promotional video is finally available.

The video confirms a similarity to the Skylanders franchise, in that players can purchase real-life figurines to interact with the game in various ways.

When players place their Pokemon figurines onto their Wii U Gamepad, the NFC functionality built into the pad will detect the object and transfer that Pokemon into the game world.

Pokemon Scramble U will be the first Pokemon game released specifically for Wii U. It will be released in Japan on April 24 for 1800 yen (about US$18). The first round of randomly distributed figurines will cost 200 yen (US$2) each.

Pokemon Rumble U is the successor to Ransen! Pokemon Scramble, which launched in 2009 as a Wii Ware game, and Super Pokemon Scramble (Pokemon Rumble Blast in the US and Europe), which launched in 2011 for the 3DS.

Does this new gameplay footage make you excited? Let us know in the comments!

    I see a big wave coming 🙂

  • Eduardo

I feel an avalanche of games are comming 🙂

  • Iuri Borges

    Seems fun.
    Kinda confusing though… :p

  • wober2

I dont know why exactly but I kind of love the art direction and kind of like the idea. My affection is in that order art direction then gameplay story idea.

  • djvalbnc

NFC has so much potential..really looking forward to this feature in future games..!!!

    • Michael Jurado

especially in racing games like imagine player 1 driving with a steering wheel while player 2 controls like a cannon or something and NFC has special attacks and then we add a 2nd driver for player 2 and a 2nd wii u pad for a 2nd cannon for a player 2 with the same NFC functions and tah dah a beautiful game 😀

Hey guys sign and share this petition for SEGA to re-release the original Bayonetta on the Wii U eShop:

    • D.M.T

I don’t think we need or want the original Bayonetta. We should just hope that Bayonetta 2 is so successful that SEGA will release Bayonetta 3 exclusively to Wii U

      • uPadWatcher

Actually, it’s Nintendo and PlatinumGames. SEGA was the publisher of the first Bayonetta. Right now, Sega is the creative adviser of the Bayonetta franchise.

        • D.M.T

True!!! Nintendo is publishing and funding Bayonetta 2. I love that. I’m hoping to see Bayonetta in Smash Bros. too as DLC.

      • Petri

I would like to see the first one on Wii U, it’s about the only game I miss out of my ps 3 collection.
But yes, new games beat old games, so if they were to port it, I would be happy, but if not, not the end of the world.

  • Fred

Sounds inexpensive. I’m very surprised at the $2 for the toys can you imagine how many more skylanders toys would have sold if they priced it at $2?

    • D.M.T

Nintendo products are always inexpensive with the exception of the Gamepad but we dont need a second Gamepad right now. Even the Wii U is inexpensive. People who say Wii U is expensive are hypocrites because they are planning to buy a PS4 for 450 dollars at least.

      • DragonSilths

Haha. PS4 wont be less then $599.99. Maximum $799.99

        • AngryU

clerk at gamestop said ps4 will be 800 euros.

          • [000]

More than half the time, Gamestop employees don’t know anything.

          • [000]

Although, that doesn’t mean they can’t be right.

          • dylanbob121

            well…ill pass

  • uPadWatcher

This would be a huge hit for Wii U owners and Pokemon figurines collectors. And with the NFC technology, the fun factor will high DEFINITELY raises the bar.

    • Michael Jurado

I know right i gotta catch em all 😀

  • D.M.T

Ok I’m confused. What’s the name of the game? Is it Pokemon Rumble U or Pokemon Scramble U? And i’m not impressed with this pokemon game, I want a real RPG Pokemon game for the Wii U. I don’t know why Pokemon RPG’s are almost exclusively to handheld systems. Make one for Wii U and you’ll see how many kids will purchase a Wii U for that game. Even adults will play it damn it.

    • Revolution5268

if you want real rpg get the 3ds. pokemon rpg will never apear in consoles.

      • D.M.T

Pokemon Gale Of Darkness on Gamecube says you’re wrong. Pokemon RPG’s have appeared on consoles before and they need to make a new one for Wii U. I will not get a 3DS, just make one for Wii U

        • Silent

With the current technology that we have, I dont think it is necessary to make a console pokemon game. Pokemon X and Y are coming. They are the only ones coming so deal with it.

  • Zombie_Andrew

Why don’t Nintendo make a real Pokemon game on the Wii U instead of this crap?. I’d love to see a cell shaded Pokemon RPG, and it’d be a massive system seller…

    • Revolution5268

      because that fits for handhelds.

      • D.M.T

It fits consoles too but it’s just easier to develop for handhelds. An RPG Pokemon on Wii U could sell like hot cakes. What kid doesn’t want to play a Pokemon adventure on their TV?

        • Silent

          Isnt that called crossplay?

    • Michael Jurado

a real RPG o.O dude did you even understand the storyline of this game?

    • Silent

Have you heard of pokemon X and Y?

  • Revolution5268

didnt you guys post this trailer a while ago?

  • David

Gives us an MMO already you ignorant Japanese pricks!

    • uPadWatcher

Quit being a douchebag, David. Nintendo knows what they’re doing, but it takes time for the developers and testers to ensure the game meets the high quality standards. Have patience and they’ll inform us whenever they see fit.

  • Petri

Do you only read it once, then you can dispose of it?
Or do you read it once per session?

    • Jeff Jagoda

I assume you have to use the figures everytime you start up the game but I’m not entirely sure. What’s cool though is that the figures will be trainable in the game and you will be able to update that info in the figure.

  • Michael Jurado

an 18$ game wooot that’s in my budget 2$ figurines that’s so in my budget 😀 … oh wait a minute O_O 2$ x 600 pokemon HOLY CRAP this is going to be a gold mine for nintendo lmao suck it skylanders

    • Jeff Jagoda

They are making 2 different Pikachu figures too so who knows how many figures there will be. $2x?=$??? Loving the low cost though.

  • John Andalora

Wait, that thing in the bottom left corner has a purpose?

  • Ibi Salmon

Interesting. I played a demo of the original Pokemon Rumble. It wasn’t bad. I’ll keep an eye on this one.

  • Barzh

The gameplay looks awful. I’m sure kids will enjoy it and spend their allowances on it however.

  • What exactly is the game about? It just looks like a bunch of Pokémon scurrying about with some explosions…

  • Diogozaca

My suggestion is a pokemon, or maybe, and most probably, a new IP, trading card game with greaty 3D HD visuals showing the arena and the monsters fighting. Put the game for free to download with a starter deck and sells the packs/advanced decs on the retailers with the chip in each card. Even if you are not playing on a system you still can battle with yours friends.

  • greengecko007

Looks like the other games in this spin off, but with more pokemon. The downside being that you have to buy them. I’m out…

  • SkyStormXD

yeah, ps3 was around 500$ when iot released
