Nintendo Switch owners have been begging for two things: a Metroid game (we got that one), and a proper Pokemon RPG game. We’ve also got that one as well.

Nintendo and The Pokemon Company announced today that a Pokemon RPG game is in development for the Switch.

However, we’ll have to wait a bit for the game: The Pokemon Company’s Tsunekazu Ishihara said that the game “may not release for more than a year.”

The upcoming title will be developed by Game Freak, who have developed pretty much every Pokemon RPG in the last 20 years.

If you can’t wait a year for some Pokemon on the Switch, there’s always Pokken Tournament DX coming later this Summer.
