Earlier this week Nintendo held a Wii U preview event in New York where they revealed the price, launch date, and even some new games (like Bayonetta 2). Nintendo posted some photos of the event on their Facebook page, showing lots of happy people playing the Wii U, and some shots of the various keynote speakers (including Activion CEO who introduced Black Ops 2).

Nintendo has also posted the full presentation video — you can find the video and photos below. Tomorrow, we’ll do a full roundup of all the Wii U news and announcements made last week — and there was a lot!

Awesome. In my opinion, they made up for E3…hope next year’s goes better though :P. I wanna know what Retro is doing! (I bet Star Fox)

    • AKA-Link77

      Yah. . .
      it wad pretty much a:

      • tim

        i got that lol

    • Jbaeza

I honestly would prefer metroid prime 4!! But if it is star fox i hope it is like star fox 64 or adventures, or a combination! But not like assault. Retro should make a really good game regardless of what franchise, in Retro we trust!

  • some gUy

This is closer to what I expected at E3.

    • Macarony64

If they showed this at e3 microsoft and sony would have stole all the ideas

      • frank

Yeah this was a good business move for nintendo

      • Mass Effect fan

Actually Nintendo are this who always copy now start to disagree my comment blind Nintendo fanboys cos i am sure you not like it

        • Macarony64

If you could give a exsample maybe we can debated

        • angel

your comment made no sense u must be a xbox fanboy

        • Kahhhhyle

Why not provide us of some examples of their copying?

      • goginho

        So true

  • ceramicsaturn

Awesome. Saw this on Gamespot a few days ago, but at least hopefully here the commentary won’t be so immature and negative.

  • Kahhhhyle

Its been on YouTube for some time now lol. Anyway wii u still has a lot to prove. Those demos looked like crap in my opinion I hope that stuff was still in production

    • taiye

wow!seriously!? they look like crap?are you blind or something, and please dont say opinion.if they dont look good then 360/ps3 counterpart dont look crappy too.

      • Kahhhhyle

Maybe I was watching the wrong demo but I’m not the only one who noticed it. One of my friends mentioned it before I watched it and I gotta say a agree with him. I want to like this console as much as any of you but I wont lie to myself. It looked better on the other consoles sorry.

        • Nintendude

Don’t watch a Youtube video about it. Play it on the actual Wii U once it comes out.

          • Kahhhhyle

Lol that’s what I’m hoping that it’s just the video

      • goginho

Noo I don’t think he’s blind ..he’s just a bit spoiled and expects way too much.

        • Kahhhhyle

I expect what I was promised. Visuals that were better or on par with 360/ps3. Cod didn’t look as good what do you wan

    • Macarony64

Next time you watch something do it whit the eyes open

    • Grodus

I am, for the first time, dumbfounded by an opinion. Oh wait, 2nd. The 2nd time.

  • TheUNation

Last Thursday’s presentation was by far the BEST I’ve ever seen. Now that the Non-Disclosure Agreement is long gone, the Wii U Express is in full gear. I’ll look forward to more news and info from the Big N, third party publishers and indy developers.

    • Gabe Hoffman

Yep they certainly made up for E3. The Wii U hype train is officially in motion.

    I wish I was there

  • Disciplelicious

Woah…so cool! I took an hour and a half to watch and hour video because I kept rewinding and pausing and researching :p

  • somebody

if e3 2012 will be like that would be great (i hate 2012 e3)

  • Macarony64

We still have the tgs to go i bet they are still undiclosed surprises from third party developers

    • Lew3107

It’s been rumored that Namco have some unannounced games that will be unveiled at TGS in a few days.
My money is on Sniper: Ghost Warrior 2, Tales of Xillia and/or Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja Storm 3.

      • Macarony64

They cant go wrong whit naruto especialy now of wii tvii.imagin seeing a battle on the game the looking on wii tvii to see the episode :0

I have my ways ……… *trades in ps3 and 360 and wii with all the games*

  • Samurai_Otaku

All this looks amazing, thank you wii u daily for the upload. i just can’t wait to get my hands on that awesome system next week at the euro-gamer expo ^-^

  • Gabe Hoffman

Ya know despite all the good news there are still gonna be haters, trolls and PS3/360 fanboys proclaiming Wii U is fail or Wii U is garbage along with that familiar Nintendo is doomed bullshit we have been hearing for the past 10 years. I saw an article on CNET about the even and the comments were just full of trolls and haters proclaiming Wii U will fail.

Does anybody know, about how many games can be stored on 8 gigs of memory?

    • Grodus

No. Nobody knoes. The games’ memory size haven’t been announced.

    • Kahhhhyle

Depends on the size of the game. A single game can take up 8 gigs. But individual save files don’t take up as much if you plan on getting the 8 gig version and don’t plan on buying additional memory for a while you should buy your games on discs so as to save that precious flash memory

So the internal memory is only for downloaded games?

and yes, I am unfortunately stuck with the 8 gig, but it’s better than nothing. I only found out yesterday that I’d be getting one.

        • Kahhhhyle

No no no lol. The internal storage if for everything on the console. However downloaded games will use more memory cause you need to store EVERYTHING internally. If you buy it on a disc you’ll only be using it for save data. Which uses MUCH less storage (usually only a few megabytes) where as a single game can potentially use more then 8 gigs if downloaded

          • PLEASE ANSWER

            Ash, thanks for the clarification.

  • DR. spankalot

i like playing games, amusing really 😀

  • Grodus

We now know the Wii U slogan:
    How U will play next.
    That’s… punny.

  • Madmagican

Just finished watching the video; I think the best parts were within the first twenty minutes though, the only thing I was really happy about after the they started talking about Nintendo TVii was that now I can give my dad a good reason to help me pay for the Wii U… cuz I’m 15 and I really don’t have anymore than $70 to pay for it

  • Joesatmoes

I didnt like that they focused so much on Nintendo TVii (cuz while its a cool feature, i probably wont use it AT ALL). I like that Black Ops II is coming, but is the one-person-on-gamepad-one-person-on-TV thing going to be the only way to play offline multiplayer, or will it have regular splitscreen as well. And will Nuketown 2025 be available?

Titles i will get (not all at launch)

    Nintendo Land (w/ Deluxe edition)
    Black Ops II
    Assassin’s Creed III
New Super Mario Bros. U (I might also get another sidescroller, like Rayman Legends or trine 2)
ZombiU (seriously, what’s wrong with that name?)

    Unannounced games
Ghost Recon: Online (yes- i assure you it will end up on the Wii U)
Zelda (which i assume will be shown at E3 2013 or -14 to steal the thunder from its next-gen competitiors)
    SSBU (same reasoon as Zelda)
Mario Kart U (maybe) (same reason as Zelda/ SSBU)
3D Mario game (maybe) (same reason as Zelda/ SSBU/ Mario Kart U)

But seriously, idk what was wrong with the line-up they showed at E3 this year? no zelda or SSB? (look at my reason for it being at E3 2013/ 2014)
We all know they r gonna b announced at aome point or other! You guys should be happy about the 3rd party support that wii (see what i did there) do have instead of the 1st party support wii know we’re gonna get! That is one of the reasons the Wii didnt have much 3rd party support (othr than the fact that the Wii was not very powerful)

  • SteampunkJedi

I watched part of the video. That’s basically all my internet provider will allow. Anyway, I think Reggie’s a pretty impressive spokesperson, and Metroid Blast looks absolutely amazing. I definitely want Nintendo Land. I sure hope they have a Star Fox mini game too. That could be really cool.
