Here’s some news that’s making Wario an extremely happy guy. Nintendo’s market value has passed that of Sony. While Sony’s market shares total 17.7 billion dollars, Nintendo is reporting a slightly higher value of 18.4 Billion dollars.

This result can largely be attributed to the success of the 3DS and lift of the console ban in China. Both of these are doing wonders for Nintendo, even though the Wii U sales are still about average, despite recently reaching 4.3 million unit sales.

What’s interesting about these numbers is that Sony is a company that has other products besides the Playstation (TV, Music, laptops). Nintendo is solely a gaming company and is still worth more. This is merely a testament to the quality of Nintendo’s gaming experience.

This is the reason why Nintendo is doomed. … .. where are the media on this one, haters nowhere to find, and Nintendo only do games. Sony do music, movies, games, television, what is wrong with Nintendo, this must be a mistake cause Nintendo is doomed Hahaha….Nintendo will never die haters….

    • triplegamer3K .

      • sharlo galmo

I think Nintendo gonna go third party only….

        • Carlos Coronado

I highly doubt it not with the way the 3ds is selling.

          • sharlo galmo

Hah dude I am just joking, this is what a hater will say…but I am a Nintendo fan, I like sony a little bit and Microsoft also.but I hate peeps who are hating on the king….

      • Kidicarus1

This sounds like a hater’s comment, yet at the same time it does not. I am very confused.

    • Drowrin

I am surprised at the number of people who don’t realize what this post was. I tip my hat to you good sir.

    • Steve

      Okey…. What?

  • Awesome! It’s good to hear Nintendo’s stock is going up! Their investors must be happy to see that!

    • Lusunup

I know right? Thank you Zorpix for posting something positive today!

      • That’s what I do! ;D

    • Nintendo Dragon

I’ve been wanting to invest in Nintendo for years :/ I just never have money! I only have enough to buy their games, either way I’m happy!

  • Nintenjoe82

    Iwata out?

  • Nintenjoe82

yeah, whatevz. You just bought Sony shares and now you’re jelly

  • Deadpool U

As a future owner of a PS4 this kinda worries me I really don’t want Sony to leave the gaming industry unlike M$ I think Sony is very essential the industry.

    • companyoflosers

well if ps4 doesnt pan out this generation sony WILL be leaving the industry unfortunatly. they announced they cant afford for it not to succeed. doesnt help that investors started bailing after they announced they are going to stop making tv’s and cut several other product departments. i believe kotaku published an article not too far back where a marketing tool predicted sony has a 79% chance of going bankrupt in the next two years.

    • Rinslowe

True. Sony have a lot of creative content and the PS4 is looking more and more compelling.
I will be owning an Xbox One for Halo though. No questions asked.

    • Rabbi Bongstien

I wanna play Infamous Second Son so bad! But I can’t drop the money for a ps4. I’d really only be getting it for maybe a total of 6 games over its lifespan. But don;t worry about Sony. the game division might be losing money or at least was losing money, but they sell so many other things that there will always be another playstation. plus microsoft is not huge in japan as people there prefer sony and nintendo. All of the gaming systems are needed to move the industry forward.

    • Sony isn’t going anywhere.

      …I dont think so

      • Hipster Victor

I hope not either but lest be honest….Sony is in some serious financial woes to the point where the Playstation 4 must have a “complete perfect selling run” for the rest of its lifespan to get out of that hole, with no lagging sales, not even once. I won’t be suprised if the “Playstation 5” will be a service similiar to Steam.

  • Shagrath1983

Sorry but as a senior business accountant with sweet nunchuck skills I can tell you it is you good sir who is wrong.

    • You had me at sweet nunchuck skills

Who is in charge of the 3DS news section? Nintendo sold a little over 11million 3DS systems in North America this year, 35 million world wide, and is the number one selling gaming device in the UK.

Nintendo will always prevail and continue to be head honcho in the video

More a testament to Nintendo’s sound business practices…
But exactly, Nintendo’s IP’s are golden – IMO. How a company can continually release such fresh experiences from established characters and themes is pretty slick.

  • Super Buu

What’s that sound? Oh, that’s right, the sound of doom and gloom bringers shutting their filthy mouth.

  • Forbsz

    i just want a sandwich

  • Sheiky Baby

Good for them. At the end of the day, when you compare gaming companies, and their business practices, Nintendo seems to be doing the right thing. Although it might hurt their sales at times, I do appreciate a company that is willing to stand up to developers and basically say “Your DLC is garbage and not worth $25 to our consumers. Keep it”. Shit like this can cause problems between Nintendo and developers, but this generation is going to be filled with horrible DLC trickery. I never thought I’d be a Wii U owner… Until I realized how much Sony and Microsoft were helping kill gaming by creating this sort of grandiose image of gaming with things that have NOTHING to do with gaming and glorifying shooters.

I MIGHT get a PS4, but I have a pretty nice PC. There are some games that I’d like to play that aren’t coming to Wii U, but they’ll probably be on PC… Funny thing is, I’ll probably only play them for 20 minutes and put them away cuz I’ll be hooked on Wii U’s upcoming line up.

Keep it up, Nintendo. Although you are confusing at times, you’re ultimately doing the right thing in a business that is drastically continuing to change due to a very ignorant culture.

Not really. Seen this happen on IGN as well. Typical hacking.

Ignore him Zorpix, he is just lying and I’m pretty sure he is a hacker.

      • Magnus Eriksson

Very boring form of trolling. Makes me ashamed on behalf of him. Nintendo stocks have risen only as a sign of death cramps. Its like the wounded lion, more dangerous now than ever just because he is about to die. The same goes for Nintendo – they are slowly turning into SEGA, but they try to resist the inavitable.

        • DΓ‘ibhΓ wotshissurname

The fact that you’re a bigot, a troll and seem to have to piggy back on the discussion of other trolls disgusts me. You are essentially Truthteller. Also, you are trying to compare a lion with an interactive media company

You must read it again. Clearly you didnt understand.

    • Thomas Vienna

No, the stock market is a pretty big deal. Keeping a high stock price makes it harder for other companies to cannibalize Nintendo and strain its assets. Plus, it keeps investors happy. Keeping investors happy is a high priority for most companies.

      • I was being sarcastic… Sorry if I wasn’t very obvious about it ^w^;

Dun worry. Saul simply must not be aware that Nintendo holds no debt and keeps a tremendous amount of money Cash on Hand. Well, an amount of debt so small it is considered negligible in the investment community.

  • AWwriter

Being a “leading business school” means nothing in terms of quality of education. One could say quite accurately that McDonalds is the “leading hamburger brand” yet you will not find many who attest to its overall quality. In other words, if you have to qualify your statement with what school you are enrolled in – instead of trying to “educate” us you might want to check out what a Logical Fallacy and Appeal to Authority are – that’s something they likely won’t teach in a business school vs. a more well rounded education.

    • Michael Erick Reyes

      BURN ..

    • Steve

What on earth did I just read?

Let’s get the facts straight! When you are talking about post secondary business schools, there is not much difference in terms of “quality”. It is all up to the student! If you are the type of students who works hard and learns material beyond the curriculum, to better your knowldedge, you will have the same results in whatever school you attend.

The only difference between these schools is the name. Why is Apple more expensive than other brands who sell similar products? Same thing. These top schools are no different than others, in terms of quality. They simply accept potentially successful students, then take all the credit for their success and use that to justify the “quality” of their program.

      • AWwriter

Wow sounds like someone bummed out and feeling insecure about getting into a no-name school.

FWIW, while I would never say every school it is simply “up to the student” – there are certainly cases where that is just a fantasy and not correct – it seems that you missed my point entirely. When someone feels they have to say “I go to a leading business school” to qualify their authority (which is funny and silly anyway – at least graduate first before you start throwing that around, the only one who thinks students are an authority on anything are other inexperienced students), it’s not only a logical fallacy (which you would have to go to a Liberal Arts school to understand, apparently, LOL) but also shows a lack of conviction in their arguments if they feel a need to point it out.

Once you grow up you realize that someone’s intelligence, lack thereof, or validity of their statements, has absolutely nothing at all to do with what kind of school they went to, if any. Going to any type of school often does give one more opportunities, but speaks nothing either way about what they know or do not know beyond those in the sciences (and even then it’s a crapshoot).

        • Steve

Tell that to Josh Koughman, author of “The Personal MBA”. An international best seller business book. I got this info from that book.

Ps: i am studying computer science, my college major. But I also have read, on my leisure time, dozens of business books, economics books, and computer books. So, in terms of business, while I have taken several courses in college, I am mostly self-educated. Big schools are beneficial, that is true. But, today, school is not your only option for education. I wrote a website when I was 14. Are you calling me unintelligent? I wrote a computer game when I was 15, all self education.

I’ve read several business books, as well. Although, unlike these college institutes who focus on quantities analysis, I equate my goals more towards entrepreneurship. Why don’t i double major?
          1. It is expensive!
          2. I don’t really want that stamp; my intended occupation is computer science.

I was a straight A student in high school btw.

          • Relick

“Tell that to Josh Koughman, author of “The Personal MBA”.”

Isn’t that the exact appeal to authority fallacy that AWwriter was pointing out in the first place?

          • Steve

My point is: traditional schooling is no longer the only resource for food education β€” this is especially true in the US, which has become very degraded. Additionally, big name schools are simply that: they are well known.

Moreover, these leading business schools, and many others, are exactly that, a business. The “quality” they claim to provide is no different from that of other schools. The quality of education a student receives depends more on how hard he or she works. Let’s get real, how much can you really expect to learn β€” in class β€” about a topic, in a single semester? Probably not a lot. In addition, the courses you take don’t even cover the whole book.

So, and I know this from experience, the quality of one’s education is dependent upon how hard he or she strives for it. Grades are good. But the really knowledgable people I know go beyond what is taught in clas β€” self education.

So, in reality, schools, no matter the status, have just about the same quality of education. Some may provide better resources at the facility, that is true. Lout, today, we have access to a far greater scope of resources. So, if you don’t like how your textbook explains a topic, go find another β€” or just research it. I’ve taken a college course once, without the required textbook. I made an A, a good majority of folks β€” who had books β€” did not do as well.

The concept of these “leading” schools have more to do with social status than the actual quality of the education they provide, for the most part. “Oh, this guy attendended XYZ University; he must be really my alienated”. These schools live off the stereotype that their service is superior to that of other institutions. Is that always the case? No! I’ve had a teacher who graduated from a well-known school who had no common sense.

          • Relick

In the UK we have comprehensive, grammar and private schools, the former are available for everyone, grammar only for people who do well and private only for those who can afford it.

I’ve just gone from a comprehensive to a grammar school and I’ll be honest in this case that I agree with you. The teaching is the same (if not worse than before). However every (I am not exaggerating) private student I have ever met is exceptional. Not just grades but in the work they do, their intelligence and common sense etc.

As for universities, I don’t actually particularly want to go to university. However if I actually want any chance at a decent job I’m going to need a degree and being able to say you went to a highly respected university (however misplaced this respect is) is a very valuable asset when trying to get a job. The whole system is fucked up IMO but I’m too young to do anything about it yet. I do agree with you that they are riding on status alone (at least for grammar schools where I have experience – I cannot say the same for universities yet) but I do not believe you can waiver the status as the status is indeed a powerful tool.

If nothing else, being able to get into XYZ university while in competition with other exceptional people proves you are of some level of intelligence so I think that also plays a part to people regarding certain schools highly.

          • Relick

Also I don’t think he called you unintelligent at all, but let me say this:

I built a website when I was 12, and a game when I was 14, does that make me more intelligent than you? Probably not, because those things aren’t hard per say. Doing them /well/ is indeed hard but doing them to a decent standard isn’t that hard. It just requires the skill to self-teach which not many people have.

          • AWwriter

I have no idea what you are talking about – it has nothing to do with anything I said. It seems like you had something to say that you just wanted to post, and now are pontificating on your own.

You simply misunderstood my initial posting to begin with. Precisely my point was that formal education itself, regardless of the perception of its quality or prestige, actually has very little to do period with how intelligent or correct someone is.

Again, we return to the logical fallacy – look up Appeal to Authority. Basically, it means making an argument that you don’t have sufficient evidence to actually argue so you point out your “authority” as to why someone should defer to your knowledge. You did it again by concluding with your grades in high school. Getting “straight A’s” is irrelevant – not only because it could have, say, been straight A’s in special ed, but also because some people are wonderful at being students but fail in any type if real world circumstances.

All that said, Logical Fallacies are not the “be all end all”, either. Once you are out of the educational system proper and you put it in its place, you realize what a bunch of hogwash it all is – where or even if you went to school has little baring aside from resume fodder which if you are relying on past your 20’s means that one could have been educated anywhere in the world but if they fail to apply it, doesn’t mean a tinker’s damn.

TLDR version: don’t run around saying that your opinion on something is more valid because of where you went (or worse, guffaw, are currently going to) school, and doing things like pointing out that you got “straight A’s” not only belies your age and relative inexperience but also just makes you look pompous and unable to stand on your current argument because you have to convince us of your past achievements.

you are right. there are a lot of other factors other than market cap to consider when valuing a company. Nintendo also has, on top of their shares, something like 16 billion in cash, multiple buildings, a multitude of IPs and massive goodwill. Nintendo is one of the most profitable businesses in the world all things considered. It’s ridiculously successful. And I have bought and sold NTDOY several times day trading over the past year and made some decent coin. Still have 2K shares and I am way up on my trades. I wouldn’t buy a Sony share over Nintendo

Here’s a story I made up with to all the reference from all the comments from YouTube and other sites (including here) I read.

Three fanboys have been chosen to go to Gamer Heaven – the ultimate place for hardcore gamers. A tall strong heavily armoured knight guards the gate.

First came the Microsoft fanboy. “Are you a hardcore gamer?” asks the Guard. The fanboy smirks and answers ” Hell yes! I play real games like COD and Halo. I don’t play crap like Mario and The Last of Us” The guard kicks out the Microsoft fanboy into space.

Second came the Sony Fanboy. Again the guard asks. “Are you a hardcore gamer?” The Sony Fanboy laughs and replies. “Well, duh! Of course! I play with a much more powerful console with realistic graphics than that crummy brick called the Xbone and the kiddie console called the Wii U.” The guard bashes the Sony fanboy into the ground.

Lastly came the Nintendo fanboy looking all nervous. The irritated guard gave a death stare and says “Do not waste my time, fanboy” The Nintendo fanboy gulps and sweats. “Are you a hardcore gamer or not? ANSWER ME!!!” the guard asks with a roar. The Nintendo fanboy replies shaking “I…I…I loved Nintendo ever since I was a kid in the 80s and I will always stay loyal to them!” The guard lifts up his massive hammer above his head ready to attack.
The Nintendo fanboy covers his eyes with his hands as he continues to speak ‘I also own consoles from Sony and Microsoft that I love equally. I…I…I just love playing games and to me it doesn’t matter which console is the best” The guard lowers his weapon and opens the gate allowing the fanboy to go through.

VGChartz isn’t a reliable source. You do know that, right?

          • Justin Gray

This website you have posted 3656 comments on posts VGChartz figures on a weekly basis. Yeah I have read all about how they are unreliable but I wonder how much of that is reliable. Hard to find someone debunking them or a “reliable” source with wildly different numbers. The fact that Nintendo is recognized as an excellent software producer was irrefutable but oontz seemed to think it was worth arguing that point as well.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

Not the only site that I post on, but uh…okay. πŸ˜› Well oontz has his opinion and you have yours. I don’t see where he argued that NIntendo is recognized as an excellent software producer, he basically said that not everyone sees it that way, which is true. Personally, I don’t care too much for what they produce these days other than Mario Kart and Smash Bros, but I do recognize them as a successful company. Premier is stretching it. If it were true, then no one would be buying a PS4 or Xbox One.

Yes, too many people use VGChartz to support their arguments, and I don’t even know why they would go to unreliable numbers. That seems to be a theme on this website unfortunately.

          • Justin Gray

Now please hang it up. You suck at this.

          • oontz

Please hang up? What is this 1980 and we’re using rotary dial up modems….

          • Justin Gray

Oh yeah it is my opinion. Last year Game Informer gave Nintendo their Developer of the Year award. In the month the Xbone and PS4 launched, among all those next-gen launch titles, Mario 3D World got Game of the month. But yeah it is just MY opinion. You are obviously a fanboy spouting totally out of emotion.

          • oontz

“You are obviously a fanboy spouting totally out of emotion.”

Says the fanboy spouting totally out of emotion.

          • Justin Gray

Dude I am playing PS3 right now and I own every major system since 1988. I proved what I said was a fact. You said Nintendo being the premier software dev was my opinion. I gave a link showing that the top 15 best-selling games of all time were all developed by Nintendo. That isn’t an opinion. Now you could save face and apologize and admit you were wrong and I would gladly forgive you but no you are just trolling me with empty pointless arguments. When I say hang it up I mean your ego. Grow up and go play some video games before you waste an evening acting like you know something about something.

          • oontz

“Dude I am playing PS3 right now and I own every major system since 1988”

That’s great and pretty much sums of my gaming life as well. Yet you were pretty quick to throw the fanboy comment into my face, weren’t you.

Also yes you provided a list. I’m sure I am not the first to point out that many of the Nintendo developed titles were actual pack-in games that came with consoles both portable and home. yes they sell a ton of software (over time) but there are a lot of variables to a product being premier. Just because something has more global sales than something else doesn’t mean everyone on the planet automatically thinks it’s the best thing ever. Sales numbers and public perception are different beasts.

          • Justin Gray

OK I showed where they have sold the most software by far and IF you take that to mean they were just a bunch of pack ins then what does that say about their hardware sales? OK, if you look at that list you will see that MS has only one game in the top 40 and that is crappy Kinnect adventures pack.

“Sales numbers and public perception are different beasts.”

Are you ready to quit yet?

          • oontz

And now you’re quoting a news article about one UK shop’s customer base. Really?

          • Justin Gray

That was another article posted by WiiU Daily. Why do you come here? For the much needed attention mommy and daddy never provided? Take a hike troll.

          • oontz

My mom and dad gave me tons of attention… thanks a lot asshole.

          • Justin Gray

You have yourself to blame for anything anybody says to you when they invite you to drop it over and over and over again and you just keep up the trolling. But yeah “I” am the a-hole here.

      • Christian Schoff

Inevitable you idiot. Also you are completely wrong.

        • Rinslowe

Why couldn’t you just respond to the guy saying he’s completely wrong, without having to resort to using the word “idiot”???

      • Rinslowe

At some point it’s just like, consistent sarcasm reaches for reality – LOL.
SEGA was never this financial…. And there’s quite a few other reasons to chuckle here.
Sorry got my serious hat on this morning.

        • oontz

Yeah if sega was in this same position… they’d still be making video game consoles.

      • InterTreble

Downvotes speak for me. I won’t waste my time replying to people like you, oontz and other trolls.

    • iamserious

Sony and MS needed this doom and gloom crap to happen to Ninty BC they are seriously worried about Nintendo continuing to dominate in the gaming world. Sony has a lot more riding on the PS4 as well as MS on the Xbox1 than Ninty does with the Wii U. Nintendo can withstand a bad generation, MS and Sony can not.

      • oontz

        You are not serious… really?

        • Daniel Gonzalez

Fanboys always are. What else is new? Lol.

          • oontz

Just hard to take seriously I guess.

      • InterTreble

This, friend. After so many promises (most of them unfulfilled) and beyond the aggressive marketing done before their release, PS4 and X1 showed at D1 what is arguably the poorest line up of the entire hystory, especially PS4. They have sold millions of consoles to early adopters and people who just follow what is said, what is advertised, etc. During the course of the time games will appear, of course, but I don’t expect any “wow effect” from them: Sony and Microsoft has promised something really different, really “next gen”, and they only did an hardware upgrade of their machines. No new devices, no innovation, no new controls, no virtual reality, no 4K, nothing. Just more RAM and CPU power. This will not lead to any “next gen” experience, while I would ask any unbiased videogamer what he think about Super Mario 3D World, for example. Using the controller as a stand-alone touchscreen handheld, using it in game as a videocamera, or to blow something during the gameplay, enjoying a touchscreen on the controller are all innovation that only Wii U can provide in this generation, and are the only feature which can support a real new, a real fresh, a real “next gen” experience. PS4 and X1 not. They will have good games, but not innovatie, not “next gen”, if we don’t call “next gen” just the number of polygons… We are serious… πŸ˜‰

        • oontz

          Oh brother…

“PS4 and X1 showed at D1 what is arguably the poorest line up of the entire hystory, especially PS4”

I officially can no longer take you seriously at all. There have been some truly horrible console launches in the past and PS4 and Xb1 don’t even come close.

“They have sold millions of consoles to early adopters and people who just follow what is said, what is advertised, etc.”

Like the 3+ million who bought a wiiu within the first 2 months? HA ha, your logic is so whack.

“Sony and Microsoft has promised something really different, really “next gen”, and they only did an hardware upgrade of their machines. No new devices, no innovation, no new controls, no virtual reality, no 4K, nothing.”

Wow…. no virtual reality, no 4k? I didn’t know my wiiu supported virtual reality or 4k displays… Oh wait a second my ps4 DOES support 4k video output. I can also you the touch pad on my dualshock 4… oh my ps4 camera also provides an innovative experience with playroom. I can use my share function to share my gameplay instantly with the gaming world, is that not innovative? I can play ps4 remotely on my psvita I can also play my ps4 on my vita over wifi… outside of my house, is that not innovative?

Some times your rants are funny, this time you just sound completely uninformed about anything you’re trying to talk about.

          • InterTreble

Too long comment, it’s evident you are nervous. I have read a lot of readers laughing and replying at your comments. And the downvotes are a proof. You are a troll, and I won’t feed you anymore! πŸ˜‰ Have a nice life and happy flame with your friend Daniel. Adios

          • oontz

Unfortunately it does take long comments to point out all of the holes in your posts. Keep wearing that blindfold… it suits you.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

I don’t think he ever took it off. ;P

          • InterTreble

The only two blind are you and Daniel. Remember you offended me when I forecasted exactly what happened at the end. You both were doomed. And I won’t waste my time with you, I want just to remember your defeat, just this! πŸ˜‰

          • oontz

The last thing I am is blind. I also have never been defeated by you. I don’t even think that is possible. Some of the ramblings that spew from your keyboard are hilarious and only add to the joy of picking apart your posts. So keep it up, you’re amusing to me.

          • Daniel Gonzalez

It’s been amusing me thus far. It’s also hilarious on how he misses each point of a discussion and continues rambling about how we offended him. To top it off, he says he won’t waste time on us, yet he still responds back. The irony. πŸ˜‰

          • Daniel Gonzalez

“You are a troll, and I won’t feed you anymore! ;”

I think we heard this one before Treble. You still continue to go on anyways. You can’t help it. It’s part of the fanboy syndrome.

Mr Wrong, how are you doing? Always verbose comments from you… you are still nervous to have been losing… I have no time for your flame, sorry. I do love the “you’re doomed every morning when you wake up” part, it’s about time you came up with something a little original. It also tells me you go to any lengths to try to win an argument but just fall short and show your lack of class. If we were upset, we would stoop to your level and say your life is doomed. I don’t see where we have said that. So again my poor misguided friend, only person who is upset here is you. Those who use the “LOL” in their comments tend to mask their anger. It’s a shame you have that blindfold on not to see it. I’d say it’s a pity, but then again, ignorance is bliss. Have a nice day. ;P

          • InterTreble

It’s a waste of time, mr Wrong. I don’t read your comments. Too long. I just notice how you are greedy of replies… This is a clear proof of hurt proud. Your offences came back as a boomerang… πŸ˜‰

          • Daniel Gonzalez

If you’re replying to them, then you certainly read them. You’re so silly. ;P I think the word you’re looking for is “pride.” Thought I’d help you there a little. Didn’t see a boomerang go by, but I sure did note a lovely Mercedes park in my driveway that is filled with win. If you happen to come across the boomerang, it’s on the house and will come in handy for you. Do keep lashing out though if it makes you feel better. ;P

          • Daniel Gonzalez

            Well said.

China is kind of a crappy market BC of all the pirating that goes on in there due to the fact that majority of people in China are very poor. Although, if any gaming company is going to do well there it is going to be Nintendo. They sell the cheapest hardware and offer great mobile gaming as well.

What’s the point of comparing two companies (stock prices) that do completely different things. Where are the articles comparing Nintendo to Apple, or Nintendo to FOX, or Nintendo to Microsoft, or Nintendo to *insert random company name*. Oh THAT’s right because Nintendo’s Market value PAILS in comparison to other companies. Yeah a bit of news for Wiiudaily users. Nintendo ranked #63 of the worlds most valuable brands… #63. There are 62 other companies that are worth more than Nintendo, Hell Microsoft (one of Nintendo’s main competitors) is #2!!
Why doesn’t the article compare those brands/companies? Oh because it doesn’t suit the needs and wants of the elite Nintendo fanboys.

“This is merely a testament to the quality of Nintendo’s gaming experience.”

No this is a testament to Nintendo refusing to sell any product they make, at any type of loss… even if it means providing the end user with a lesser experience than their competitors (with regards to hardware power, game choice). This has nothing at all to do with the ACTUAL end user gaming experience. It just shows that Nintendo run’s their business completely in the black and not the red.

Articles like this on a news site are completely USELESS. The only reason to even type such an article is to perpetuate stereotypes and to feed the already over bloated egos of Nintendo fanboys.

I expected more from you Zorpix. You are doing the Nintendo gaming public a great injustice. Why not type a realistic article making more than one comparison… maybe even include the forbes top 100 companies link? This is nothing more than fanboy click bait. I really love the picture you have chosen to represent your article as well. You’re really pandering to the Nintendo fanboy crowd with that one. What was the article titled you sent in to be picked to contribute for this site…?

    “Nintendo goooooood, everyone else baaaaaad”
    me, Zorpix

This site gets worse and worse with every article posted.

    • gamerinexile

You are a failure at logic and an idiot in general.

      • oontz

        Point proven, thank you.

    • Rinslowe

I honestly believe you’ve gone a little off the deep end of the pool, on this one mate. What you have failed to identify is that most people do not believe Nintendo to be the most financially successful company in the world. It is simply – for what it is – a very financially stable one. Period.
The relevance comes from the comparison of – two – Japanese entities both operating in the gaming entertainment industry and both with completely opposite views in terms of the general public/ media, today. Furthermore, where Nintendo’s front line business is in gaming hardware, software and publishing, Sony by comparison retains a much much larger portfolio. And this is where the comparison is most relevant, due to the factual nature of their stark operating differences in scope and what is reflected from that on the bottom line. Right?
It is not Zorpix’s responsibility to point out the obvious relevance of this comparison and for you to assume it’s all about how much $ and cents are in the bank, that is your mistake…
Also your dig about Wario and a handful of cash literally makes no sense. In what World does a company with nearly $16b in the bank and a further $2b in assests – not – signify wealth? I for one would be even happier than Wario if for eg; that was my company we were talking about.
The saddest part about your meltdown here is that you have wrongly accused Wii U Daily and it’s readers as fanboys. When the obvious problem here, is in the fact one person is upset about his favourite company not being top dog.
As a gamer this should be the last reason to be upset.

      • oontz

“I honestly believe you’ve gone a little off the deep end of the pool, on this one mate.”

We are all entitled to our opinions and perceptions of what is contributed to this site. I stated clearly why I was upset. You don’t have to agree or disagree with the points I made.

“What you have failed to identify is that most people do not believe Nintendo to be the most financially successful company in the world.”

Most people don’t care but when someone reads this the will usually take it at face value and not actually research the topic and see that there are a lot more variables at play. It’s not just black and white as Zorpix has presented it.

“It is simply – for what it is – a very financially stable one. Period.”

I could not agree more, Nintendo is a very stable company. One that makes shareholders happy. But there are many reasons why they are so stable, none of which were provided in this article.

“The relevance comes from the comparison of – two – Japanese entities both operating in the gaming entertainment industry”

There in lies the rub because they both don’t JUST operate in the gaming industry.

“this is where the comparison is most relevant”

No it’s not relevant because it’s not a valid comparison. It’s about as relevant as comparing Nintendo to Nissan, or any other Japanese company. Yes sony has a gaming division, but that is all it is… a division of a much larger umbrella corporation.

“It is not Zorpix’s responsibility to point out the obvious relevance of this comparison”

It is his responsibility to properly report and provide an unbiased view on any topic that he contributes to this site, unless it is an editorial piece.

“For you to assume it’s all about how much $ and cents are in the bank, that is your mistake…”

That is what the entire article is about, the overall value of the two companies being compared. Was there some sort of hidden meaning you’re grasping at?

“Also your dig about Wario and a handful of cash literally makes no sense.”

It makes complete sense in the context that I described in my post.

“The saddest part about your meltdown here is that you have wrongly accused Wii U Daily and it’s readers as fanboys”

I never accused the entire collective that visits and converses on this site as fanboys, maybe re-read I wrote. There are many people on here who have an open mind are are objective in there views and opinions. Just like there are many who are not.

“when the obvious fanboy is in fact the one upset about his favourite company not being top dog.”

Ha ha, my favorite company is not sony. Sorry but nice try. I don’t have a favorite company, not would I need to since I am not a stock holder with either Nintendo or Sony. This is one of the main reasons I felt this article was in poor taste, because it perpetuates the extreme fanboy culture.

“As a gamer this should be the last reason to be upset.”

I am not upset that Nintendo is worth more than sony. I am upset about the level of so called “news” and biased editorials that are spoon feed to the true fanboys of this site. I think you completely missed the point I was making. There are a ton of legitimate Nintendo news stories that can be reported on, it seems wiiudaily is happiest pandering to the fanboys on this site. They know it’ll generate ad click revenue and they do it every time.

        • Rinslowe

I seem to always miss the point you’re making, lol. You and I both know that isn’t the case.
Ok fair enough, I respect your opinion. Genuinely. But like I say in these situations more often these days, I just don’t agree with it.
I see the clear relevance of a Nintendo – Sony comparison and my statement towards that reasoning was equally clear. I won’t elaborate as again, the points being made have been made. What is really happening here is two individuals in a disagreement of opinion. We don’t have to complicate the points being made because of this difference.
I made my case you made yours or it was the other way around… And it’s done. Over.

          • oontz

“What is really happening here is two individuals in a disagreement of opinion. We don’t have to complicate the points being made because of this difference.”

            Agreed. Good day sir.

I love you Nintendo!!! You did your best. 3DS boosts crazy from last year which is great business. Wii U continue slowly but slight better from last Christmas. We will see Wii U improves uphill and downhill this year with PS Vita. Both always had their up and downhills for sells.

My personal gamer as I am so happy owned Wii U, XB1, PS4, PS3 and 3DS. Loved them all!!! πŸ™‚

We all knew I had moved on from 360 and Wii when XB1 and Wii U launched. But PS3 I will moved on from it maybe later this year or next year.

I am Nintendo and Sony super fans. I love Microsoft too but Ninety and Sony is way better because they always bought epic exclusive titles and features for their systems which is made me attracts to them even more and more than Microsoft had attract me. πŸ˜›

Look forward epic games coming this year for Wii U, PS4, 3DS and XB1.

Good to knew Nintendo and Sony doing well in their business. They always had up and downhills into their lifetime business. I totally respects to them more than Microsoft.

Here my opinion I told which I though great or good or superb systems I had and owned from last and current generations.

    Wii U – Superb (owned)
    PS4 – Superb (owned)
    3DS – Superb (owned)
DS – Great (R.I.P. when Mario Kart 7 released for 3DS)
    Xbox One – Great (owned)
    PS3 – Great (still owned)
    Xbox 360 – Great (R.I.P. 2013 when XB1 launched)
    Wii – Good (R.I.P 2012 when Wii U launched)
    PSP – Good (R.I.P. 2009)

Only system i never own is PS Vita. I will not touch this system until better game title on it. There not enough game titles make attract me to it. But we shall see until this year or next year for this system. πŸ™‚

I love being gamer and of course I am gamer since Super Nintendo released. I proud of being gamer and I big thanks to Nintendo that who started and bought me into gaming life. I don’t care if Nintendo had some mistakes into their lifetime business so same for Sony. I totally respect to Sony too. I also big thanks to Sony when PSone released with Tomb Raider in 1996. So Sony is 2nd hand so Nintendo is first hand because bought me into gaming 4 life!!!

Microsoft did bought me something into stick gaming 4 life is when original Xbox released and of course Microsoft got better online system for gaming over others but for me I prefer Nintendo and Sony for business, gaming, features, exclusive games and lots more about them than Microsoft.

  • starwars360

Nintendo and Sony is all about fully gaming. Microsoft is all about online gaming!!!! That is how I love those 3 companies.
