The Nintendo Switch prototype has appeared on FCC’s site, where several documents reveal some of the aspects of the upcoming console. While most are tests on the wireless frequencies and safety tests, it also appears that the documents confirm that the battery in the Switch tablet will not be replaceable.

Unlike the Wii U GamePad, where users could replace the battery with another one, the Switch will be closed off to such things, just like most tablets and smartphones out there.

In fact, Nintendo themselves released a high-capacity battery pack for the GamePad that users could replace themselves.

We’ll know about the Switch battery life and other specs when Nintendo reveals more news about the console next month.

You can read the FCC documents yourself here.
