The official Nintendo Switch launch event has just revealed a very important spec for the new console: battery life.

According to Nintendo, the Nintendo Switch battery life will range from 2.5 hours to 6.5 hours depending on the game. Obviously, more graphics heavy games with lots of interaction will burn through battery more quickly. Simpler games with simpler graphics and game physics will use less energy.

There are other circumstances to take into consideration when discussing battery life as well, ranging from the brightness of the screen to the temperature of your surroundings.

We’ll conduct a full Nintendo Switch Battery Life Test when we have our review unit, but until then, let us know in the comments if you think the announced battery life is reasonable and what you expected from the console!
