Last week we warned Splatoon players to be on the look out for Splatoon hackers, or characters that have used a data-mine hack in order to change their playable character from an Inkling to an Octoling. Because the game isn’t designed to support playable Octoling characters, it can cause some issues in multi-player games, including locking people out of their save file until Splatfest resets Inkopolis. While the issue seems to be pretty low key for many, the Splatoon community has noted that Nintendo seems to have banned those who were using the exploit at the system level, meaning they’ll be able to play the game online at all. Right now this is just a rumor without confirmation, but Nintendo has always taken players who disrupt gameplay very seriously. local_offer Nintendo octoling Splatoon wii u stars Further Reading Legendary Pokemon coming to Pokemon Go The cost of Nintendo consoles in today's dollars Wii U gets firmware update Watch the Smash 4 EVO Finals on Disney XD Take a peek at this week’s Nintendo Dow 9 things you probably didn't know about Super Mario Bros.
