Nintendo is currently offering refurbished Wii U units at its Nintendo US store for just $200 – $100 off the regular MSRP (although several retailers often have the Deluxe set at $250). As with all Deluxe sets, it includes a 32GB Wii U, a GamePad, a copy of Nintendo Land, and all the necessary cables (including HDMI cable). And just like the store-bought Wii U Deluxe, the refurbished one has a 1-year warranty from Nintendo. Nintendo also notes that the console and GamePad might have “minor cosmetic blemishes”, but otherwise, the console works perfectly. As Nintendo puts it in the description: “The Wii U Deluxe Set is now available as an Authentic Nintendo Refurbished set only from Nintendo, and it comes with our standard one year warranty. Although it may have minor cosmetic blemishes, it is guaranteed to be fully functional. We think you will find the standards for Authentic Nintendo Refurbished Products are VERY high.” However, there is a little downside: if you’re interested in joining Club Nintendo, the purchase of the refurbished Wii U is not eligible for Club Nintendo registration — in other words, you won’t be able to earn Club Nintendo coins with this purchase. $200 for a refurbished console — hardware that someone else has used and returned — sounds like a lot, especially since an extra $100 (or often, extra $50) would get you a brand new Wii U. And it’s not like we haven’t been seeing some great Wii U bundles out there. Recently, eBay offered a Deluxe Wii U bundle with Mario & Luigi for just $260. And if you can wait a bit longer, you’ll be able to get the new Wii U Mario kart 8 bundle (officially only announced for Europe so far). It’s interesting to look back at when the Wii U launched 18 months ago, when the Deluxe set retailed for $350. Then it got lowered to $300. And now Nintendo is offering the Wii U Deluxe at just $200 bucks (refurbished). Would you buy a refurbished Wii U for $200, or would you rather just spend the extra cash a get a brand new unit that hasn’t been used and returned by someone else? We don’t need one now, because we have had enough Mario for the next couple of years lol, but if they made it around 2017-18 i think it would be a good game to end Wii U’s life cycle with, or Galaxy 3, people never gave Mario SS a chance i think it is one of the best mario games, up there with Galaxy and 64, but it seems not many share that opinion, a very underated game. Who knows maby it would sell great? Not the same people buying it today, as for the GC. I think it deserves a sequel, the sun, the water etc, Its perfect for Wii U, and seing how Nintendo is handeling shaders i think the game would look fantastic. Perhaps you could use the gamepad screen to aim with flood/flud (can’t remember how its spelled :P) Oh and sunshine was the second best selling title on Gamecube only Melee sold more, so although it did not sell aswell as most Mario games, it did ok. 1/4 of Gamecubs install base bought the game! If 1/4 of PS3 og Xbox 360 install base had bought a COD game the cod game must have sold 50M units, and none have past the 30M mark yet, so if you put it in to perspective its not as terrible as people make it look, but yes releasing a Galaxy 3 would be better. rp17 I don’t think a sequel is justified, but you could be right about a remake. If I remember Windwaker was not that popular when it first came out. But now WWHD is the 2nd best game on the Wii U. Furthermore if WWHD was supposed to hold us over until the New Zelda, then maybe Super Mario Sunshine HD could hold us over until Galaxy 3. jjbredesen Yeah, that would make a lot of sense, and if you look at Gamecubes library, Sunshine is one of the games that would benefit most from an HD remake, i think Nintendo should do it, and Mario is a game that everyone buys not just the hardcore Nintendo fans, like some of you say. If MK8 does its job, there will be an audience for Mario aswell, i wish people would give it a chance. Dylan Clark sut the fuck up and stop tryna play up mario sunshine like it was good. Be honest even some of the best companies make mistakes jjbredesen I think the game was great, i am not damage controling i honestly think it was a great game. No propaganda here at all 😛 Fred WHat are you smoking? I love Sunshine Rinslowe It was one of my favourite Mario experiences… jjbredesen Yeah mine to, and IGN gave it a 9,4 and and Editors Choice award, only problem is it did not sell well. Fred But like you said earlier that’s mostly the install base of the Gamecube. If there had been 100 million gamecubes like there are Wiis it would have sold much better. Mario The worst selling Mario game? Gameonfool I quite liked it myself, the music, setting, Nintendo trying different play mechanics and you could ride Yoshi. Nowadays people say Nintendo keeps playing it safe yet when they change the formula a bit like sunshine no one is interested. Magnus Eriksson Not true. When they change the formula people are interested. When they rehearsh it, not so much. Daniel Gonzalez That and adding a water pump/sprayer on Mario’s back, isn’t changing much. Magnus Eriksson It didnt make sense even. Strange thing though. When I look back in the history I find N64 good today, the same with GCN all though it bothered me back then that Nintendo did many things they did. But one thing Im pretty sure about. Wii and Wii U wont get the same status. They are just not good products. Wii Mote never worked one hundred percent. And that experience will feel aweful ten years from now. The pad… well dont have me to even go there. And the games? SMB3DW – at first I thought it was amazing. But Ive put it away now and never feels the urge to play it. It just wasnt that memorable. 7.5/10 DKCF – nope, its not a 8/10 game really. It says so on metacritics, but thats simply fanboyism. It feels the same as the Wii version and adds very little new. The Wii game was an 8. That makes this one into a 6.5 game. Zelda WW HD – great Zelda game because I never played it. But that also makes some of the things that was new in GCN version feel old on Wii U as those elements was in place in both Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword (but better in the latter). The remake wasnt justified this early in the process either. 7/10 Nintendoland – Most of the games feels more like tech demos than games. Some games are fun, but most are ok-ish. 6/10 Fred look at the Gamecube’s install base. With that logic all gamecube games sucked. If the Gamecube had sole 100 million consoles like the Wii did it would have sold much better. Mario No they didn’t. Fred You’re right all the gamecube game’s didn’t suck and neither did Sunshine Daniel Gonzalez Won’t be happening anytime soon jjbredesen Yeah, i know it will not be happening soon, but as RP17 pointed out, it could be used as a filler game while we wait for Galaxy 3. Nintendo has already said they will make one more 3D mario game, so i would imagine we would get one around the end of Wii U’s lifecycle. If Galaxy 3 comes out in 2018 we could get SSHD in 2017, because i don’t think they have much planned for the future. They have already milked Mario enough for the next couple of years, they have already made a Mario Kart game, they have made a Smash game, and i think Zelda U will be out in 2015, and then they have also made a DK game and they have also made Wii sports club etc. So they only stuff they have left is Metroid, Star Fox, Kirby, Miyamoto’s new IP and F-Zero and lets be honest thats not a lot of games. If they want to have enough games they will need to fill the gaps with remakes because, they don’t have 3rd parties to help them. Games such as MK8 and Smash will keep fans happy, and if they get a Star Fox and Metroid out, and Zelda U is great i think Wii U could be okey untill 2016, but after that i don’t think they have anything…. They need to either make a miracle happen with 3rd parties or make a ton of remakes, because there is simply not enough games for the future. I guess we should wait for E3 before we start making predictions though. Rinslowe More remakes from that back catalogue of great games would be a positive move. Together with funding more third party exclusives or acquiring a couple more studios… Honestly right now, Nintendo will not get back their third party support. That’s obvious. So to me, those three options above are the only things Nintendo can do “now” to reverse the situation on Wii U, together with their first party offerings… Surely they must see that. And not being up front about their upcoming titles – more exact release dates etc… Is not allowing their fans to plan for those titles effectively. From what I’ve heard on many sites, people don’t spend too much on supporting multiple titles across platforms without knowing if it’s going to be a done deal – plus financial complications in doing so… So Nintendo’s current strategy is just playing into the hands of their competitors as they more accurately hand out more tangible road maps and entice gamers dollars… jjbredesen Yup, but i have a feeling Nintendo doesent see that, i guess we will have to wait for E3, before making doom predictions :P, but they need to step up there game, somehow i have a gut feeling that Wii U will be fine, its can’t describe why, i just sort of trust NIntendo to much, becouse they always come up with unexspected ways to get there consoles to sell, so who knows. Capt. Smoker A Nintendo game won’t save anything, the problem is that the Wii U fails to appeal to anybody other than us Nintendo fans, unlike the Wii that found a new audience outside of gamers Daniel Gonzalez My thoughts exactly. Nintendo needs to do more than just feed the diehards the same old basic games for the past 20 years. Time to buy and hire some talent to broaden their install base. Only way they can do that is to come out of their comfort zone and create games that don’t target just everyone. Let’s be honest here, everyone in Nintendo’s case, is just the diehards. Capt. Smoker It doesn’t help how most fans are content and always have been with the handhelds, the core Nintendo audience hangs out there, the rest of the world isn’t interested in handhelds or Nintendo consoles, but will buy for the occasional exclusive, if Nintendo want to sell more Wii U’s, they have to follow their competition and offer something beyond what anybody else can, so far they’ve got it wrong, even after all these years of experience, hard to believe but a company of Monkeys could do a more competent job, they truly are operating their business like the early 90s, I doubt they’ll ever change. Daniel Gonzalez True. Their franchises only target their extremely loyal fans. The rest of the world is ignoring them. It’s simple why that is. They’re tired of the same routine every generation. Gamers want something new. As much as people may hate Sony for example, they do bring out many new ip every gen and now are bringing gamers PS Now. I don’t know if it’ll catch on or not, but it’s at least more than what Nintendo has done at this point. Despite hating Microsoft, I will admit they did succeed and bringing in some exclusives to their console early on. Only time will tell if it’ll continue. Nintendo needs to step up their game and lay off the gimmicks. That is, if they really want to lure away those fans of Sony and Microsoft. Capt. Smoker The moment Nintendo realized they had nothing worthy to offer, they should have drove their focus on building new state of the art hardware, I’ve always admired Sony, they take gambles on new franchises for their fans, even if it means they lose money, I loved the Gravity rush ip on Vita, that was new, Nintendo have had nothing new to boast about, funny, the company with the most money in gaming can really be this stingy, if they fail after this generation, it’s time they say bye bye once and for all, even I’m becoming tired of sub par gaming, I’m very tempted to buy a ps4, the future looks bright, for Nintendo however, they seem content to sit on the toilet. Daniel Gonzalez Nintendo Toilet System- Now you’re flushing with power! http://cdn.walltowatch.com/files/0/0/0/2/00028502.jpg Capt. Smoker ahahahahahahahahahaha 😀 Magnus Eriksson This is how you play next. Daniel Gonzalez By flushing your games down the toilet? Magnus Eriksson The Wii U pad would be great for sitting on the toilet. Sadly enough its remote capabilities are horrible. I dont understand why they made it this bad when they first made the second screen? Why didnt they just made it into a portable device? Its so little thought through it almost seems a bit random. Daniel Gonzalez A portable device would have sufficed. Using it with the console to me is lame. When I play games on a TV screen, last thing I wanna do, is look down to the gamepad screen and back to the TV and so on. No thanks. The Pro Controller suits me fine. Magnus Eriksson Lol, they tried to market it as assymetric gameplay at first. That was supposed how the future would be. Than that silenced and they started to talk about OFF-TV PLAY… Wtf? Handhelds are Off Tv. And thats what they are supporting, not the Wii U. If you want to play Off TV then buy a Vita or a 3DS, not a fucking Wii U that is more expensive, limits the experience etc. And what the hell TV? No one watches TV anymore. I use my fucking Lap top, the TV is only in use for movies once in a while, and thats not play time. What was they thinking about? Also a pad? A mobile phone is cooler than this unsupported piece of junk 😀 Daniel Gonzalez Even a mobile phone has plenty of third party support. Lol. I’d never use the gamepad to watch TV, movies or browse the internet. That’s what my PC is for. 🙂 Magnus Eriksson Actually I use it fot browsing the web. But thats not why I bought it. I read .pdf’s from the TV and stuff like that when I write a paper. Daniel Gonzalez I couldn’t see myself using the web on it, though PDF’s are fine. Considering it’s basically a tablet. Magnus Eriksson Its handy to read the paper on TV while im writing on my computer. I dont have to print a lot of crap. 🙂 Nintenjoe82 Rumour has it that there is one secret use of the gamepad nobody knows about that will help make the killer app Miyamoto is working on. It’s possibly it contains a portal to Narnia but Nintendo are keeping it under wraps.. Magnus Eriksson I dont believe there is a new Miyamoto IP. Magnus Eriksson I think Nintendo should admit that they doesnt have anything more in this business to do. Either go third party or build the fucking fitness center on some island in the blue ocean. Capt. Smoker The blue ocean Nintendo buffet liner, sounds profitable at least 😉 Magnus Eriksson Yeah? Maybe they want to combine the fitness project with fishing? Nintendo fish&fitness… Sounds great. Capt. Smoker The real life Wii sports, fly fishing archery and a dancing octopus included Magnus Eriksson You had me at octopus. Fred I love Sunshine (more than 64 and Galaxy) I’d be all over a sequel or an HD remake jjbredesen Glad to see someone shares my opinon! 😀 Kuromad Excess refurbs are a good thing. They usually have them in storage to give to people that send theirs in under warranty. It seems that they have more refurb units in storage than they need. It actually made me laugh. Good one sir/miss! Nintendo diehards are easy to lead on. ;P David Trail Go and play Knack and Thief please. The PS4 has so many awesome games! Donaald LMAO Not! GuardiansFan if i had a ps4 i would rather have no games than those 2 games in my library 😉 MetroidZero Let’s just hope (I’m very certain) that Nintendo will make it worth our while in the future. It’s a struggle right now, but hold on. I’m trying to hold on, I really am. Most of my video games I buy are for my PC at the moment. May needs to hurry and come. bizzy gie When was the MSRP marked down to $250?! Kevin James McAllister It didn’t. The author was just wrong. Deadpool U Since when was the Wii U $250? Did I miss something or is John just pulling this out his ass again? Steve6cupcakes Read it again (Nintendo is currently offering refurbished Wii U units at its Nintendo US store for just $200 – $100 off the regular MSRP) I think when he said (although several retailers often have the Deluxe set at $250) He was saying that they often have it for sale for $250 Vegeta937 Actually, the article has been edited. Before, it did say deluxe sets were just $250, only $50 off the MSRP — which is the version of the article Deadpool’s comment is referring to. Steve6cupcakes Okay thanks for clearing that up then! RyuNoHadouken Sams Club was selling Wind Waker bundles for $120 recently…just clearing out stock Daniel Gonzalez Can’t say I blame them. jrob23 oh Danielle…weak troll Magnus Eriksson A fair price for a Wii U. Daniel Gonzalez I think so too. They should have a $250 console that comes with ads, free VC games and a lifetime money back guarantee incase of buyer’s remorse. Consumers want options. Magnus Eriksson But seriously. What would be a fair price for a Wii U? Im starting to think 150$. Maybe 200$ with a seriously good bubdle. Wii U is just not worth what they take for it. Its simply not good enough. And it will never bee either Daniel Gonzalez Put SM3DW bundled and you got yourself a better deal. Magnus Eriksson Agree. They should drop the pad for two reasons. 1. They are not supporting it after 18 months 2. Its not the experience people are going to care about in the future either. 150$, bundled with SMB3DW, DKCF or Mario Kart. 10 games from Virtual Console. Drop the pad and include a Wii Mote or Pro controller. Would be nothing but fair really. That console could maybe sell some units because of its price point. Daniel Gonzalez I’d rather use the Pro Controller than the gamepad. If they went with that and kept the price around $200 from the start, it would have sold far more and not have been in this bad situation. Wii U’s hardware isn’t worth more than $200 alone. That gamepad makes it more expensive than it needed to be. Capt. Smoker They say that but it’s quite a fib to tell, no way is the gamepad worth that much money, it’s nothing compared to a run of the mill tablet, even a knock off tablet is more costly to the manufacturer and their not terribly expensive either Magnus Eriksson Without the pad = 150$. With the pad = 200$. The tech they used in the pad was old already at launch. A year later it feels even worse. What drives me really crazy is all the time Nintendo had to prepare. They launched their HD console 6 years after PS3 and XB360. They had time to prepare for the gen. Sometimes I wonder if Wii U was buildt from spare parts they had from some handheld project that never got realized. It seems way too random. And added with alot of crap they dont use. Camera and NFC is one thing. In Europe they launched it without TVii and there still isnt anything but a red button that doesnt work. When the overall experience is this shitty, its annoying. Daniel Gonzalez I wouldn’t be surprised if they rushed the Wii U into the market just to be first this time. Magnus Eriksson How in hell can they rush something in to the market that they knew they had to build since 2006? Daniel Gonzalez Easy. They were so high on the Wii sales that they were confident that they would get the same results no matter what the quality of the console was. Magnus Eriksson I think they didnt understand why the Wii sold. They thought it was a different kind of product than it was or something. Then when they realised that they tried to reach out for those who bought the Wii, ignoring the fans who bought the Wii U to play games. Then they targeted the children, still ignoring those who bought Wii U to play games. Thats why they lost this gen. Had they kept focus on them who bought the console, then they might have kept third party support too. steveb944 OMG I can’t believe I missed that. I’d get em just to have extras of that pad Vegeta937 That’s not entirely true… http://www.gamnesia.com/news/sams-club-is-selling-wii-u-bundles-for-under-150#.UxvA6vldXvE RyuNoHadouken how is it not true? some were even going for less than $100 Vegeta937 Somehow I feel like you missed the word “entirely” in my comment. *Shrugs* RyuNoHadouken i gotcha jrob23 that is..if you believe it wasn’t just a doctored receipt by some Sony fanboy..you know, like the kind that frequent here and espouse b.s. like this Vegeta937 No offense, but I’m not exactly sure what a Sony fanboy would gain from doctoring receipts to show low priced Wii U’s. jrob23 really? for amusement, so they can fan the flames? guess you haven’t read many comments from the trolls on here and other sites. People make so much shit up to back their favorite console..it’s pathetic. Vegeta937 Yeah, I guess I have, but thanks for assuming. It still doesn’t change the fact that a Sony fanboy would gain absolutely nothing from doctoring receipts. Furthermore, the article wasn’t bashing Nintendo or anything, it was straight forward information. If anything, it was promoting people to get a Wii U while the price was down, not saying “Look how low the price is, the Wii U sucks!” jrob23 not. any thread trying to make fun of the Wii U by portraying it as incapable of selling at its MSRP is trolling. How you don’t see that is beyond me. Outlandish prices such as these don’t exist. Someone trying to hurt Nintendo’s rep would gladly make shit like this up. It’s corporate warfare. Ever wonder why certain websites have certain narratives about companies that happen to advertise heavily on them? Ever wonder why the same few people go from site to site damning certain products. They are on payrolls. As a stock investor, I see this type of thing all the time on forums. Paid trolls. Not saying anyone here is, but I wouldn’t put it past whoever made up that receipt. Vegeta937 Wow, dude…just — wow. You are welcome to continue to keep reading way too much into things while I will continue to not lose sleep over making up conspiracy theories that in no way affect me. jrob23 then don’t make stupid comments about shit you don’t care/know about…there..all better! Vegeta937 Careful. You’re age is showing. Somehow I feel like you are forgetting that you’re the one who brought up the whole Sony fanboy/corporate conspiracy to begin with. My original comment was a reply to Ryu to correct misinformation he was providing about an article, and had absolutely nothing to do with what you felt like you had to add. I guess I forgot as a human I have absolutely no right to an opinion. I’ll remember my place next time >_> jrob23 you do that Daniel Gonzalez Yeeeeah…that’s what I was wondering too. That and the conspiracy theories prove only that people waste their time worrying over it. ;P Daniel Gonzalez Fire sale is just as bad. Just another way of wanting to get rid of an item in stock. Soon, $200 will be the regular price of a Wii U. Packing in SM3DW would have been a better deal. Vegeta937 Except they’re still going to stock it, so whether they’re thinning the herd or not is neither here nor there. Also, if it goes down to $200 soon, even better. Not sure why it matters how low the price is, really. Daniel Gonzalez Well it would depend if that price makes it worthy of a purchase to each individual buyer. Some see it as worth $200, others might not feel the same. I still say they should have bundled it with something at least. Vegeta937 I was just saying they could drop the price down to $10 and I still wouldn’t see that as a bad thing. I understand a lot of people are unhappy with the Wii U, etc, so I understand what you’re saying. Personally, I love my Wii U (of course, I game on my PC, so it’s a great complimentary system) and the $300 I paid for the Wind Waker bundle back in November seems alright to me. I mean, the 300+ hours I’ve put into Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate was enough to buy the system for. Jake For just $200, i can get AMAZING Games like The legend of Zelda WW, Rayman Legends, SM3DW, and Donkey Kong. I can get Great games like The Wonderful 101, Pikmin 3, Splinter Cell, Monster Hunter, ac4,and Batman. I can good, fun games like Lego city, NSMBU/NSLU, ZombiU, Cod, and Sonic. That is 15.5 games I listed, and more cause i just thought what was on the top of my mind. This is an amazing deal and a must buy. Who gives a S*** if you can’t use a Club Nintendo card. This cost $100 less then a regular Wii U, which is totally worth $300, and $200-$300 less than XB1 and PS4. You can say whatever you want about Wii U’s hardware vs XB1’s and PS4’s, Wii U, has so many exclusives and PS4 and XB1 doesn’t even have a game that even competes with any Nintendo game (other than part games) Dylan Clark “PS4 and XB1 doesn’t even have a game that even competes with any Nintendo game” yet* Capt. Smoker The real problem comes after “yet”, we know Sony at least will flatten the opposition with a bounty of great games sometime in the future, so how does Nintendo counter this? Daniel Gonzalez I would guess by having several Nintendo directs apologizing and Iwata saying “please understand.” I’m willing to bet they’ll just continue ignoring the problem. Capt. Smoker People actually listen to him too, which is the sad thing, and people defend him, like it’s okay that people spent a lot of money on a piece of crap nobody wants to support, the fans let it slide so he gets away with it, nothing ever changes. Daniel Gonzalez Diehard Nintendo fans(especially those on this site and across the internet) are easily led on. They’ve been conditioned to believe that Nintendo games are the only quality games out there and third parties are crap. You see it just about every article that talks about why third parties won’t work on Wii U ports of their games. I used to love Nintendo to death, but I prefer not to be a brainwashed fanboy and think that everything they do, is justified. I don’t play that game. I always follow my own gut feelings, and take anything that Iwata or anyone like him says with a grain of salt. Capt. Smoker I agree, Nintendo fans are easily manipulated and fooled, over and over, I used to love Nintendo too, but their walking the same path Square Enix did right now, used to great, but failing terribly now in every department. Daniel Gonzalez Capcom…..I mean Crapcom isn’t too far behind either. Their poor DLC practices did them in that much more. They might as well sell the Mega Man franchise to someone who appreciates the little Blue Bomber. Capt. Smoker Nintendo could buy all failingcompanies, yet do nothing, Atlus was a huge miss for the chump change it would have cost Nintendo to buy, having a quality line up of jrpg exclusives would have suited them well, such a shame their cheap side denied all of that. Daniel Gonzalez I was actually in full support of Nintendo doing so. While I’m not much of a JRPG fan, it would have made sense for Nintendo. They’re a Japanese company and their home country sure would have loved it, not to mention the fans world wide. I give credit to Sega. They stepped in and took the show. Nintendo so far has shown me they care little of branching out. Guest $200 huh? I guess they’ve decided to sell the Wii U’s that retail stores got from trade ins and sent back to Nintendo. https://1-media-cdn.foolz.us/ffuuka/board/vp/image/1388/12/1388129069635.jpg nintendope Prease Understand* Sonic 2099 The Hedgehog WHEN IT COME IN EU THE PRICE DROP!!! steveb944 It’s kinda 50/50. It’s great to save money, but you lose out on potential game bundles which sort of even out the price. In terms of Club Nintendo, I *think* you get a warranty extension. But they just can’t guarantee you can register it because the previous owner may have registered, otherwise I don’t see why they wouldn’t allow you to. Geoffrey Tasker How about the fixed my wii u red block of death without trying to charge me 180 dollars Stephen Dorn Luckily, Nintendo products aren’t known to have hardware or software failures Daniel Gonzalez Unfortunately, they are known for sales failures. NintendManiac That’s what I experienced with the Wii or the 3DS you’re the weakest troll you even deserve to exist. David Trail Yeah 3DS is the highest selling console right now, regardless that it is a portable. Makes no difference. wiimenonowiiu Why is this even news who really cares GregoryTheRainMaker Please Understand. u.u Brandon Olson John, you don’t even read articles on the site you publish for! That Wii U Mario Kart 8 bundle is simply the game + blue shell. Like the Wind Waker limited edition with Ganondorf figure. Magnus Eriksson Nintendo probably have more returned units than new consoles. This is a obvious sign of Wii Us situation. Its pretty much deadnow. New console TBA at E3. Daniel Gonzalez I think they stopped producing Wii U’s and are just getting rid of their current stock. You may be right about a new console. I can’t wait to see it at the E3. Maybe we’ll finally get a more adequate product. David Trail The only thing we will be seeing at E3 is Zelda U for Wii U and a couple of other suprises. Sorry to disappoint you but there will be no new console. Hope you are enjoying your PS4 with ports, remakes and rehashes and inferior multiplats. They look better on PC. Marcus Larsson Oh man so defensive, accept at least that the wii u aint bringing many customers these days. David Trail I accept that it isn’t selling the best that it can but as long as their are good games on it. 3DS is Nintedno’s cash cow. Nothing else matters… SM3DW is argubaly the best game on any next gen platform right now. Marcus Larsson For you but there are many wiiu-buyers out there disappointed over that it doesnt recieve any action-games or adventure-games. People were hoping for both the nintendo-titles and action/adventures from third party. GmailIsDown i think it is unlikely that Nintendo will announce a new console next E3, even if they no longer want to support it. a new hardware revision of Wii U, maybe. NintendManiac http://awesomecommentphotos.files.wordpress.com/2013/07/look-son-a-fucking-retard.jpg?w=670 Magnus Eriksson Its still true. But explaining this to you is like playing chess with a pigeon. David Trail You being the pigeon. Rinslowe Another one of those failed; I love Nintendo profiles from someone who actually hates Nintendo. You guys need a new hobby… David Trail You should see the amount of PS4’s and Knack in pre owned stores. Rinslowe Despite being refurbished. $50 cheaper than the average decent deal… And that 1 year warranty makes it all worthwhile, I reckon. Josie the Sketcher Sorry about changing the subject but I hate GameSpot! Josie the Sketcher Nintendo shouldn’t give up on the Wii U just yet. Not for another 3 years. Capt. Smoker Their credibility would be fucked if they did, can’t go expecting their fans to pay the price of the mistakes Nintendo make. David Trail Wii U will be around for another 3/ 4 year… Nintendo isn’t SEGA Capt. Smoker Of course they’ll keep it alive, I hope they really go to town and keep a good pace so people keep buying, really hoping for a good fire emblem this gen, the one on the Wii was boring, mostly because it drifted away from the story so often with all that side bs, hope the shin megami crossover doesn’t have the same problem. David Trail Boring in your opinion. Capt. Smoker Tell me it’s on par with or better than path of radiance?, I never said it was bad, but the fact you were separated so often from characters you really wanted to level up and had strong characters from the beginning, just made it boring, in my opinion. Brandon Even though I dont own a wii u yet, they can still turn the sales around. Still 3 years is pretty short. They should at least wait for 2018. Trust me I can live with out a wii u, thats why I have a ps4, but by black friday or earlier im going shopping for alot of games for next gen(current gen now) since the wii u is going probably be super cheap. David Trail One question. Why would one buy PS4 over Wii U when PS4 has hardly anything worth while and the multiplats can be played anywhere? Capt. Smoker ps4 has far greater long term value as developers are willing to support it, maybe it’s the kind of games he likes?, I think right now, Wii U has the best value but if he’s not that into most Nintendo games, then I suppose the ps4 is a good option, f your patient at least, if my son didn’t love Nintendo so much, I could probably go without. David Trail If multiplats are the main factor. You are better off with a PC. The only really must have PS exclusive is Uncharted imo. Marcus Larsson You keep throwing your opinion around as it was a law. You know that most people rather play games on a console than a pc? Besides there are more exclusives for ps4 that rocks than uncharted. Then you can just go around saying people should hold on with wii u until emulators starts coming around. Capt. Smoker Too much hassle for most people, plus ps gets plenty of jrpgs, well, recently anyway. Brandon Its all about the overall experience and fun that I have. I like nintendo just as much as I like sony and microsoft. Ps4 has way more 3rd party support then wii u. Plus Batman: Arkham Knight. I love all three companies 1st parties and enjoy them all, so it was a choice of UI, 3rd party, graphics, and fun with friends. GmailIsDown because PS4 has a future. take a look at how many 3rd party developers are on board for PS4. David Trail Give up? When has Nintendo said anything about giving up on the Wii U? Mario Kart 8 is just around the corner, then there is SSB U, Bayonetta 2, Monoliftsofts X, Yoshi’s Yarn, Zelda: Hyrule Warriors, Sonic Boom, Shin Migami V Fire Emblem, Zelda U… Don’t forget GBA and DS games on Virtual Console 120 indie titles in development as well! 00EpicGamer00 Not sure if anyone else caught this too, but John? The Mario Kart 8 bundle does NOT come with the console. It ONLY comes with the game and the spiny shell statue. (Which I hope comes to America too.) David Trail Knew that but thanks for the concern lol! I am pre ordering it off of the web site. You get a Bullet Bill T- Shirt. 00EpicGamer00 Welcome 🙂 I want this so, so badly. *Sigh* hopefully it comes over here. RnR I’ve been debating for months if I should get a Wii U now or wait until Smash Bros come out…$100 difference in price made this decision easy….and now that I actually own a Wii U I can stop lurking this site like I’ve been doing since launch and actually participate in discussions lol. Potemkin I bought mine for 220 bucks and it was a second hand unit. It was a good deal and not having the Club Nintendo option does not bother me in the least as I live overseas. What you would be complaining about is if it had or not a warranty, and as far as I know, Nintendo is offering a 1 year warranty on the refurbished Wii U’s. Ryan F They should do a refurbished bundle with the Wonderful 101! Cahone2 I’ll wait till its 150$ and comes with a real game. RnR My refurbished one came in the mail today and I must say it was in great condition..if they told me it was new I wouldn’t question it.
