Every year after E3 a collection of sites come together to choose the best games shown at E3 this year. Between Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo and the other publishers, the competition is always fierce in order to get recognition. Xenoblade Chronicles X has shown gameplay, trailer for the story and much more yet it isn’t nominated. Bloodborne has a CGI and gets nominated. Found this list of possible Nintendo nominees made by a commentator on mynintendonews: Best of Show The Legend of Zelda for Wii U Best Original Game Splatoon Best Console Game Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Best Handheld Game Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Best Hardware Gamecube Controller Adapter for Wii U Best Action Game Bayonetta 2 Best Action/Adventure Game Hyrule Warriors Best RPG Xenoblade Chronicles X Best Fighting Game Super Smash Bros. for Wii U Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Best Social/Casual Mario Maker Best Online Multiplayer Devil’s Third Splatoon Best Platformer Yoshi’s Woolly World Kirby and the Rainbow Curse Best Tease Star Fox for Wii U jjbredesen Now that is a good list! But lets not forget how the mass video gaming media works: http://i1.kym-cdn.com/photos/images/newsfeed/000/430/797/0e0.gif Mr. J Ea….I hate em. All I can say about them is that they better not screw up Battlefront. jjbredesen I am sure they will 😛 But i am hoping they will not… The Clockwork Being If EA screws up Battlefront, it will be the end of them. No one would forgive them. jjbredesen I have already past the point of forgiveness 😛 Not bought a singe EA game since Mass Effect 3 and the ONLY games i will buy for them is battlefront and Mass Effect 4. The Clockwork Being Yeah same I haven’t bought a single game. Mirror Edge, Battlefront and probably Mass Effect 4 for me jjbredesen Yup, shame that they own some great franchises :/ rp17 Screwing up Battlefront crosses the line though. It will turn from a boycott to a RIOT! jjbredesen If they screw it up, my friends (see avatar) will have a lot to say 😛 EA’s websites are very fun to mess with xD Will personally request a major attack on every EA server possible. Easy to contact. just join our servers: http://anonhq.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/05/Anonymous_Security_Handbook.pdf Mr. J Lol yep Dark Lord Sauron like they screwed up battlefield 4 on launch bistricky Right on …… right on. XD Michael Ocampo Thanks man, for putting this up here! Made my day. XD jjbredesen Your welcome 😉 Ducked I take it the Wii U is the only console you own? The Clockwork Being No, why? Because I posted a list that someone else made about what Nintendo games could have potentially been nominated for each category? I take it you thought this was my bias list of what should win each category right. Ducked Actually yes. I thought it was your including all systems, not just Nintendo. I guess I misread your post. The Clockwork Being An honest mistake to be made friend, no hard feelings. But yeah my list for each category would be much more different. For example, No Man’s Sky would probably win the best original game for me. Ducked Ah I forgot about No Man’s Sky, that games looks gorgeous. The Clockwork Being I love how the possibilities are endless. The universe is huge and everyone gets their own planet. I really want to learn more about the game. John Andalora I agree with most of that except Best of Show and Best Hardware: We definitely didn’t see enough of Zelda to make the distinction that it’s the best game there. I’d say No Man’s Sky definitely won that distinction. As for hardware, a port for old controllers isn’t praise-worthy. I’m surprised they didn’t just redesign the Pro controller into wireless GameCube controllers. jjbredesen Because of the input lag of a wireless controller vs a wired one. Without it pro smash players would have nothing to complain about 😉 It does actually make a difference. rp17 Input lag is part of it. But the bigger issue is the wireless interference at tournaments. jjbredesen True, that can also be a big problem. Michael Ocampo Input Lag = lack of skill? Has it actually been proven? Rinslowe Think fanbase and purity. Cult status and association… The best of the best players mostly prefer wired controllers for Smash… Michael Ocampo because of their obsession with melee? jjbredesen Melee is better than Brawl, but lets not start that argument, because it never ends xD Michael Ocampo 64 is better than melee and brawl 😛 Ok, now I’m done. EDIT: They’re all great in their own rights and now that I think about it, melee is probably the best of the 3 for keeping things the fastest. I haven’t played any of the the three in a while to give my accurate opinion though… Rinslowe Haha. Lets see if the internet though, is done with you. Does a can of worms mean anything right now? Rinslowe I’m not the biggest and brightest when it comes to Smash. So I can’t really say “why”. There’s a massive following. It’s cult status almost. And with that comes particular ways and particular preferences. If the best players in the world say they can all tell the difference in latency where I can’t. Who am I to question it… Probably a little cult classic cool in there for good measure as well. But lets not debate your other point… 😛 jjbredesen When it comes to Melee vs Brawl, the big thing is tripping and the balance. The pace of melee is also a lot faster. And people also think final smashes destroy the fairness of the game etc. but the reason people like the gamecube controller the best is because of its perfect button placement for smash etc. Rinslowe I was trying to avoid this moment. I like Smash as much as the next casual Smash player. But I can see clearly. You “really” like Smash… Lol 🙂 jjbredesen Yeah, i am sort of what would be classified as a competitive/hardcore player, lets just end it with that i have played more than 3000 hours of melee, says enough about me xD Michael Ocampo Dat replay value doe. :3 jjbredesen Yeah never gets old, donno how many times i have started a new save, or just spent time fighting CPU’s or even just fooling around in the training thing <3 also taking snapshots was a lot of fun. Think i am going to go and set up my gamecube again, still runs great, and melee does not have a scratch! jjbredesen Yeah, its a well knows fact that anything wireless will transmit slower through air, due to stuff that can block the signal, and the time it takes to sent something through air, vs a wire. Its sort of basic science 😛 Michael Ocampo why don’t they all just use wireless than, to make it even? jjbredesen Because its not even, the wirless signals do not always reach its destination at the same time, and under tournaments there is a lot of stuff that can interfere with the signal. Wired is always best. Michael Ocampo I see… Well, whatever makes things more enjoyable for everyone, than I’m game. I just hope people don’t use input lag as an excuse if they ever do use them. jjbredesen Yeah, people will use it as an excuse though, i myself have used playing with a wiimote as an excuse for losing before xD Michael Ocampo It’s those motion controls man. ;D They didn’t calibrate well ;P jjbredesen lol! Oh god, i hope they never use motion controls in smash, that would just be horrible. Always a good excuse if i sucked at skyward sword xD Michael Ocampo In Skyward Sword, those points could be valid as after I swung a couple times, my sword would sometimes be pointing back (wait that’s Wii Sports Club Tennis & Golf), it would actually be pointing in some weird direction when I’d be holding the Wii Remote in a neutral position sometimes… I still enjoyed both of those games but it was a bit frustrating. jjbredesen I never had problems with the motion controls of Skyward Sword i actually really enjoyed them! only 1 or 2 times where i calibrated it wrong, but apart from that it works great, and i hope Zelda U keeps it, but i know that it will not 🙁 John Andalora Why not just try to reduce lag? jjbredesen They could, but they can’t get it as good as wired, and it would require new hardware etc. to much work. rp17 Well input lag is usually just a few frames, but for people who study every frame of an attack animation it is a lot. But as I said earlier wireless interference is a lot worst. With all the wireless controls, cell phones, and other wireless devices at a large tournament; all those signals could cause a controller disconnect. Thomas Vienna See, I’ve heard people try to convince me that wireless controllers are actually faster, but it doesn’t really make any sense. It’s likely this guy was just trying to show off his new Xbox 360 wireless controller at the time. jjbredesen Yeah, people are really under educated on how electronics work in general :/ Rinslowe “Xenoblade Chronicles X has shown gameplay, trailer for the story and much more yet it isn’t nominated. Bloodborne has a CGI and gets nominated.” So true… thedeciderU bases = covered greengecko007 So is The Witcher 3. It’s not like every game in a category will be nominated though. Officer Raichu witcher 3 and xeno x actually had gameplay though so i feel ripped off Palmer27 And Fable Legends is there instead!!! Daniel Carvalho But who votes for those titles? The public? The “specialized media”? Because if it’s the latter one, then it ends up being irrelevant, as who pays more gets more games awarded. Gameonfool Anybody would think we live in a capitalist world. darkcreap Why do they give prizes to unpublished games? Shouldn’t we wait for them to be released and be properly judged? Gameonfool I know, there are many games that look great and end just being ok upon release. jjbredesen Yup like a certain Alien game 😛 great deku tree *cough* Rome 2 Total War *cough* in fact that was worse than ok upon release it was absolute garbage. jjbredesen If you think this is bad check IGN’s best of E3 list, that was horrible. This list is ok, but where is Xhenoblade? Officer Raichu apparently bloodburne gets nominated with no gameplay -_- Palmer27 It was shown behind closed doors – some footage leaked https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkRReiE93CE Officer Raichu still though x had hours of gameplay! The Clockwork Being When I saw IGN’s list it felt like the writer was running late on delivering his list so he just put a bunch of random games. Honestly by reading the comments, you could very well see everyone was pissed. jjbredesen First time i have seen the whole IGN comment section united on something xD Rinslowe No Xenoblade in at least a nominated spot for best RPG E3. Odd…. jjbredesen Yeah, but the lists the press make are always crap, and don’t reflect what actual gamers like, just look at IGN’s lists reactions in the comment section. Matt Would of though Cenoblade Chronicles X would of been nominated. What a shame Capt. Smoker Bit of a biased list going on there, this is why I pay no attention to the media short of upcoming games. Thomas Fitzgibbon Why does Evolve keep appearing in all the categories? It doesn’t look THAT great. Ducked Evolve looks like crap if you ask me. Rinslowe Yeah, It certainly didn’t look like it belonged in 5 different categories… The Clockwork Being It really doesn’t look all that good. Mr. J No Man’s sky will definitely win best indie. It could win most original if it weren’t for splatoon. Ducked Here’s my 20 most anticipated games right now. 1: Kingdom Hearts III 2: Legend of Zelda Wii U 3: Super Smash Bros Wii U 4: Bat-Man Arkham Knight 5: Xenoblade Chronicles X 6: Final Fantasy XV 7: Star Wars Battlefront 8: Star Fox Wii U 9: Destiny 10: LittleBigPlanet 3 11: Yoshi’s Woolly World 12: Uncharted 4 13: Metroid (3D) Wii U 14: Hyrule Warriors 15: Assassins Creed Unity 16: Splatoon 17: Halo 5 18: Kirby and The Rainbow Curse 19: Metroid (2D) Wii U 20: Mario Maker Mr. J Dude you could be my twin. jjbredesen And mine! Rinslowe I have a few titles in different order after thinking about it. But yeah. That’s the list… I’d also include Project Cars, Drive Club and Forza Horizon 2 in there somewhere. the Witcher 3, Bayonetta 2, Dragon Age Inquisition and a few others and call it my most anticipated right now. Full stop. Ducked I meant to list Witcher 3. I’m not much into racers as I use to be, but Project Cars and DriveClub have my interest. Bayonetta 2 isn’t my style, but I’ll probably pick it up if it gets a price drop. Palmer27 Seen as you’re listing… Smash bros for WiiU X Monolith Soft Star Fox Wii U Bayonetta 2 Zelda U Captain Toad Treasure Tracker The Witness Evolve Bloodborn Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain Rime No Man’s Sky Titan Souls Hyper Light Drifter Officer Raichu replace kh3 with driveclub(yes i love that game so much im buying a ps4 for it) and were good for me oh and replace metroid with kh3 😀 that would be my list Ducked You’d be the first I know that’s anticipating DriveClub that much. Officer Raichu sorry i just idk i like racing games maybe thats why because i do have an interest in the crew C4 Nah it’s the most interesting racing game. The Crew and Forza Horizon look solid but they are both open world so are less focused on actual racing. C4 But then where is Metroid?!? Officer Raichu 21 😛 Darkness I think that list should be a wake up call for Nintendo to stop making so many toddler kiddie games. I understand that Nintendo wants to play it safe but as the future goes on they will get further behind Sony and Microsoft. vexedpython I sure hope not or there wont be anything for us to play that don’t like the games you wish they would make. btw there is ALOT of adults that play platform and other family friendly games and if N went to do other game types then they would lose the fans they have and gain very few by the changing since the ppl who like sony/ms style games will still prefer sony/ms. you don’t catch up to trying to be what your not that just makes you self-destruct. Zanzama Nintendo is funding Devil’s Third and Bayo 2… Then there’s a new Fatal Frame game coming out (in japan at least) Rinslowe The whole toddler kiddie game thing is old. And mostly championed by the quintessential man child… mojack411 No Man’s Sky definitely has my full attention for Best Original game, however, I feel like we still don’t know enough about the gameplay itself to make a judgement call. Yes, it is an open world game of cosmic proportions (c wat i did thar?) BUT what will there be to do in that open world? Is it just exploration? Will there be missions or some sort? Will there be incentive to discover secrets? If this open world is an empty world then it won’t be that fun. That said, I don’t think that’ll be the case. I think No Man’s Sky will be fantastic but going off of purely what we’ve seen thus far, Splatoon seems like the winner for best original to me since we know more about it AND looks insanely fun. 90% of the rest of the list is honesty a crap shoot imo. Rich Garriques wow terrible list , best action game and BAYONETTA 2 IS NOT IN IT!?!? WHAT IN THE WORLD? BEST RPG AND XENOBLADE CHRONICLES X ISN’T IN IT?!?!? , AGAIN WHAT THE ACTUALLY F? BEST ORIGINAL? HOW CAN YOU SAY BEST ORIGINAL GAME AND PUT AN FPS GAME IN THE SAME SENTENCE. SINCE THAT’S ALL THEY PUMP OUT FOR THE LAST 10 YEARS. HOW CAN YOU SAY THAT’S THE BEST OF THE SHOW AND IGNORE ALL THE GOOD GAMES? I DON’T CONSIDER ANY OF THOSE GAMES IN THE LIST THE BEST GAMES EXCEPT BATMAN AND THAT ISN’T EVEN COMING OUT TILL NEXT YEAR. Rinslowe Not sure how titles are nominated here. And I’m not sure I want to know… No Mans Sky definitely “looks” the part for best original though, I thought. Followed by Splatoon. Lusunup Smash should also be in the best console game. Decker Shado Well, there’s that whole “if you have any questions or comments, please e-mail!” link in their about section.. http://www.gamecriticsawards.com/about.html One could be “how the hell did Nintendo’s consoles get the bottom two spots on amount of nominations, when their showing was arguably the greatest – but beyond that, catagories they clearly have covered they were not even nominated for?” Decker Shado …is it just me, or did my post get deleted? …wow… I just. 😐 wow. Okay then. Goodbye. MarkyWiiU Was Pokémon Alpha Saphire and Omega Ruby playable at E3? If yes, they could’ve nominated it for best handheld game and best RPG Decker Shado For christ’s sake Wii U daily, at least own up to your actions. Michael Ocampo What do you mean? Decker Shado CRUD Michael Ocampo That’s weird… btw I still see your “Did my post get deleted?” post. Decker Shado I’ve figured out what I was doing wrong, and edited most all my posts related to the issue to “I’m an idoit!” They seemed quite apt. Decker Shado My bad. Been an idiot. Decker Shado Oy, don’t know how/when, but my normal setting of “newest” somehow switched to “best/highest rated” and… I couldn’t see my new posts and got really confused, and then got defensive. I.E. – I’m an idiot! Crillan I agree with a lot here saying this list is missing some very good things from Nintendo. I went to the actual site they linked and they actually have the rules posted for what can qualify to be nominated: http://gamecriticsawards.com/rules.html This list just raises more questions because the rules state it had to be playable to qualify. I don’t have a list of what was playable or what was just shown in CGI, but this list might need to be revisited. p.s. You can contact the Game Critics Awards people here: http://www.gamecriticsawards.com/about.html Palmer27 What the hell is Fable Legends doing on any list?! J_Joestar disappointed by lack of Monster Hunter. Joseph Oliveira It says Nintendo won e3. Won what? Carlos Webster Darnit, the title makes it seem better than it really is. starwars360 See????!!!!! this Game Critics Awards is Nintendo haters. FUCKED THEM!!!! I love Wii U and Xbox One so much as well PS4. But they are crap because they not want Nintendo won and they knew Nintendo won so they want gave to others. They jealous yeah!!!! Roaming Pear How come Mario Kart is not on this list?
